I made Elizabeth call Mac and Rod Mom and Dad, so that this chapter would be possible. I wanted Rebecca to have a reason to get really jealous.

Elizabeth woke up the next morning, she got ready for school and went down to the dining room, the twins and Amy were already there. She sat down at the table.

Elizabeth: Hi

Rebecca: So you are going to school today

Elizabeth: Yes

Rebecca: I thought Mom and Dad might have given you the day off again, I mean you are there favourite

Elizabeth: That's not true

Rebecca: Yeah, yeah it is, and they aren't even your Mom and Dad

Elizabeth: I did ask if you were OK with it and you said you were

Rebecca: Well things have changed,

Horace: Hay why don't you both calm down

Rebecca: You don't know what it is like for me

Elizabeth: And you don't know what it is like for me

Rebecca: I have to live in the shadow of everyone, people only want to know me because of who my mother is, you should feel lucky you don't have that

Elizabeth: Well you should be lucky you still have your Mum and Dad

She stood up and left the table and met Rod and Catlin in the hallway

Rod: Hi honey are you not coming for breakfast

Elizabeth: I forgot a school book

She continued on her way to her room.

Horace: Becca that was horrible

Amy: Yeah Becca you were mean

Rebecca: It is the way I feel

Horace: Well you should think before you speak, she must be really hurt now.

Rod came into the dining room just as Horace was leaving

Rod: Hi kids, where are you going Horace

Horace: I need to get something for school

Amy: Daddy, I have been thinking about my birthday, I really want a tarantula

Rod: You know you won't get a tarantula

Amy: Well a Pony will have to do

Rod: I don't think so Amy, you are not responsible enough yet to get a pony

Amy: I am too

Rod: OK for the next week you have to feed Regal everyday, brush him and take him a walk in the morning and at night, he is your responsibility, and if you do that, then we will think about getting you your own pet

Amy: Thanks Daddy

She got up and hugged her Dad, and Mac came into the room, she had already been down in the Oval working.

Mac: You look Happy

Amy: Daddy said I could get my own pet

Mac: Really

She shot her husband a look

Rod: I did not say that I said if she took care of Regal by herself for a week then we would think about it

Mac: Where is Horace and Elizabeth

Rod: They both forgot school books they should be back by now

Elizabeth had went to her room, she felt hurt by what Becca had said and decided that she would stop calling Mac and Rod, Mom and Dad. She thought that she would be happier calling them that, but it never made her feel any different, but it upset Becca so she would stop.

Horace: Hay can I come in

Elizabeth: Yeah

Horace: Don't listen to Becca she is just overly dramatic

Elizabeth: She is right though, I shouldn't call them Mom and Dad, it just felt right at the time

Horace: If it feels right then keep doing it

Elizabeth: No I can't I want to stop

Horace: And let Becca get her own way as usual

Elizabeth: It really isn't like that, I said I would only do it if you were OK with it and she isn't so I will stop, I thought it would make me feel like more of the family, but it never

Horace: Mom and Dad will be mad though

Elizabeth: Well I can't please everyone

Horace: Just do what makes you happy, we better go or we will be late

Elizabeth: yeah and you cant be late the day of your PSAT's

Horace: Don't remind me

Elizabeth: I am sure you will be fine

Horace: I am not too confident, but it is too late to do anything about it now.

The 2 teenagers went downstairs to the dining room

Rod: Nice of you 2 to join us

Mac: Have some breakfast quickly Horace, you can't sit a test on an empty stomach

Horace has some toast and Elizabeth picked up an apple, but never ate it, they then got ready to go to school.

Mac: Good Luck you two

They 4 children left for school.

Mac, Rod and Catlin were left at the dining room table

Mac: So Mr Calloway what are we going to do now Amy thinks she is getting a Pony

Rod: I never once said she could have a Pony, I just said her own pet, we could get her a Goldfish

Mac: She has her heart set on a Pony

Rod: that is her number 2 choice, she really wants a pet spider

Mac: she is only saying that so we think a Pony is not so bad

Rod: I think we should get her a tarantula

Catlin: Elizabeth is scared of spiders, she screams really loud when she sees one

Rod: I wonder who she could get that from

Mac: Hay at least I am not scared of cotton wool

Rod: I am not scared I just don't like to touch the stuff

Catlin: I am scared of fireworks, we went to see them at Guy Falks night just before Mommy went to heaven, I got scared they would hit me

Rod: We are having them in a few weeks for the 4th of July, but you can watch them from inside if you want

Catlin: Are you going outside to watch

Rod: Yes

Catlin: Then I will go too, I just have to be brave

Rod: Ok, I promise they won't hit you

Mac: I have to get back downstairs, Catlin you have to be good for Daddy today

Catlin: I will be

Catlin ran to Mac for a hug

In the Motorcade, Rebecca and Elizabeth sat in silence, Amy was bugging Horace to let her play his video games later

Horace: Amy I am trying to revise

Amy: You are mean

Rebecca: if you don't know it now you never will

Horace: Just because I am not a brainbox like you

Rebecca: Well at least I try

The kids finally left for school. Becca and Horace went to homeroom where they would be sitting there test.

Becca sailed through it and had finished it in about 45 minuites. She sat and thought about what she had said to her cousin that morning. She felt bad for it as it must have been really hard for her to live without her Mom, and maybe she never realsied just how lucky she was.

Horace managed to just finish the test in the hour and a half given, he struggled with it and knew that he had not done as well as he hoped, he was glad it was the PSAT and not the SAT, which they would sit in a year.

They went to history class after and they were learning about King Edward the first. Both twins found this incredible boring.

Elizabeth muddled her way through school, she found most things pretty easy as she was the best in most of her classes like science, maths, English and Geography this was due to the fact she had already done all of the work they were doing in Scotland last year. Finally the school day ended and she met Becca as Horace was going to Swim Practice. Elizabeth decided that she would try and talk to Becca.

Elizabeth: So how was the test

Rebecca: Fine

The 2 girls got into the limo

Elizabeth: If I have done or said anything to upset you then I am really sorry

Rebecca: I am sorry for what I said, I should think before I speak

Elizabeth: Can we be friends again

Rebecca: Yeah I would like that

Rebecca put her hand on her cousins arm and the 2 girls hugged

Elizabeth: I have decided to go back to calling your parents Aunt Mac and Uncle Rod,

Rebecca: You don't have to do that

Elizabeth: Yeah I do, I mean it felt right at the time, but I said I would only do it if you were all OK with it and your aren't

Rebecca: Thank you

Rebecca told Elizabeth all about history and learning about Edward the 1st.

Elizabeth: I don't like him

Rebecca: Why

Elizabeth: Have you never seen braveheart, he liked to kill Scottish people

Rebecca: No I have never seen it

Elizabeth: You should really watch it, Edward the first was king of England then and Scotland never had a King as Alexander the 3rd had died after his children, he only had a 3 year old Granddaughter who was promised in marriage to Edward the 2nd, but she died when she was 8 so there were many contenders for the throne, and that is when Braveheart starts.

Rebecca: I want to watch it, maybe we can get it and watch it at the weekend

Elizabeth: I have it in my room we can watch it tonight if you want

Rebecca: Cool, We are doing Edward the second next week is there a film about him

Elizabeth: he is in Braveheart as the Prince of Wales, he hated Scottish too, but he was a weakling his wife had an affair with William Wallace, it is said that none of his children are his because he was Gay

Rebecca: Seriously

Elizabeth: Yeah his wife invaded his country and then he renounced the throne for his son, he then got murdered. He was the king in 1314

Rebecca: What happened in 1314

Elizabeth: The battle of Bannockburn when the Scottish beat the English and Robert the Bruce became King

Rebecca: You make this much more exciting than Mr Hodge, he is so boring

Elizabeth: AT least when I get to the end of my junior year history will no longer be a problem

Rebecca: When did you learn all this

Elizabeth: At school, we started doing the monarchy when I was about 9 we started right at the beginning with the Anglo Saxons right up to the house of Windsor

Rebecca: Cool, lets go watch Braveheart then

The 2 girls put the film on in the family room and they were at the battle of Stirling Bridge when Mac came in.

Mac: What are you girls watching

Rebecca: Braveheart

Mac: Is that not R rated

Elizabeth had a version from Britain and there it is rated 15

Elizabeth: Nope it is from the UK it is a 15

Mac: OK just don't let the little ones see it they will have nightmares

Rebecca: OK

The 2 girls spent the rest of the night watching British films that Becca had not seen, they watched Love actually, Gregory's girl and long time dead.
