Mac went downstairs to the family room to find Catlin snuggled up to her older sister and Amy sitting watching the cartoons. Rod came in behind his wife and Elizabeth knew that he had been told by the look on his face.
Mac: Catlin, Amy will you both go upstairs for me and brush your teeth
Amy: I already have
Mac looked in her daughters mouth
Mac: Go and do it again and help Catlin
Mac sat next to Elizabeth and Rod sat next to Mac
Mac: Honey I have told Uncle Rod
Elizabeth would not look at anyone she just sat and looked at her hands which were shaking
Rod: You know that you are safe here, and no one will hurt you again
Elizabeth looked at her Aunt and then her Uncle
Elizabeth: I am going to bed I am tired
She stood up and walked to her room meeting Horace on the way
Horace: Are you OK
Elizabeth: Yes, I just want to be alone for a while
Horace: Are you sure, I mean we can go watch a film if you want, or do something fun
Elizabeth smiled at her cousin, she knew he was trying to help her, but she just wanted to sleep for a while
Elizabeth: No thanks maybe later I am just really tired
Horace: All right.
Catlin and Amy went upstairs to brush their teeth and met Rebecca.
Rebecca: Hay what are you two up to
Catlin: Mommy said we have to brush our teeth
Amy: Yeah she wanted to talk to Elizabeth, she was crying
Catlin: Why was she crying
Rebecca: I don't know, but why don't you brush your teeth and then we can get ready for school.
They both went and Rebecca helped them before going downstairs to find Mac and Rod deep in conversation.
Rebecca: Hay where is Elizabeth
Horace: She went to bed she told me
Rod: OK kids we have decided that you can stay off school today
Rebecca: But Dad I want to go to school
Amy: Very funny why would you want to go to school when you can stay here and play all day
Rebecca: Because I am grounded and school is my only way to get out the house
Mac: Honey you can go if you want, but you do know that there will probably be more media attention today
Rebecca: I want to go besides maybe it would be best if we all just try and get back to normal
Rod: Horace what do you think
Horace: She said she wanted time on her own so maybe we should,
Mac: Ok, but you know that everyone will be talking about it
Amy: Talking about what
Horace: About your birthday and what a big girl you are going to be
Amy smiled she only had one day to go and she really hoped she got a bike.
So the 3 kids went to school and Mrs Frost said she would keep Catlin entertained all day.
Mac checked on Elizabeth and she was asleep, she then went to her office. She had loads of work to do, but she felt she was not concentrating very much on it.
Vince: Ma'am Dr Campbell and Dr Brock are here they want to know if you can meet with them
Mac: Yes send them in please
Both of the Doctors came into Mac's office
Dr Campbell: Ma'am I have seen the footage I am shocked
Mac: And I would hope that it has nothing to do with you
Dr Campbell: Of course not, it would ruin my career,
Dr Brock: I trust Dr Campbell completely
Mac: I know I am sorry, We just have not really got a clue yet who did it, I know you wouldn't
Dr Campbell: We just want to know how Elizabeth is
Mac: She is very withdrawn and she is in shock
Dr Brock: If you need anything for her then please let me know
Mac: She is asleep, at least she has stopped having nightmares now, Dr Campbell I think it is very important that Elizabeth continues to see you, she still needs you
Dr Campbell: Yes Ma'am just let me know when
The 2 doctors left the Oval as Jim came in with Kelly and Dickie followed by Carl.
Mac: What is going on
Carl: I think that it is a pretty straight forward case Ma'am Elizabeth is only 15 so the press are not allowed to mention her by name or to show a picture without your permission. In the past you have allowed them to do so, but they have taken it to far this time and you could arrest the editors.
Mac: Let's do that
Carl: Yes Ma'am
Mac: Kelly what have you got
Kelly: The press corps have all said that none of them will print anything about this story unless they have your backing, but a few of them want to know if you or Rod will have an interview to tell the whole story, or the truth
Mac: They know the whole story, I mean the tape is on the net, so no we won't
Dickie: As horrible as the situation is you have won a lot of support you have went up by 8 points this morning
Mac: Dickie I really don't care about the points just now, all I care about is my kids.
Elizabeth woke up and went downstairs she found her Uncle in the family room
Elizabeth: where is everyone
Rod: School and work and Catlin is in the Cinema watching Stuart Little again, honey are you feeling OK
Elizabeth: Yes, I mean I know that I never knew about this until yesterday, but it feels good in a way to remember, I just wish that I could have told people when I was ready
Rod: You know that we all love you here, and I promise that you will be safe
Elizabeth moved closer to her uncle and cuddled him, she really did feel safe when she was with him, and she knew he cared for her and would never hurt her. She started to cry and Rod just held her there and comfortated her.
Mac went up to the Residence for lunch and found Elizabeth and Rod together
Mac: Hi you two
She sat next to Elizabeth and stroked her hair
Mac: How are you feeling
Elizabeth: OK I guess,
Mac: Good you know we are both here if you need us, at any time
Elizabeth: Why did my Mum not help me, I know she saw it happening
Mac: I can't answer that baby, I really do not know why
Elizabeth: She should have known how I felt I mean it happened to her too
Mac: yes she should have and she should have been there for you
Elizabeth: I wish Grandma was here, I bet she didn't treat Mom the way mines treated me
Mac: I wish she was here too baby,
Elizabeth put her head on her aunts chest and cried for ages. Rod went to find Catlin and Mrs Frost and they had lunch.
Rebecca and Horace got to school and everyone was really nice to them. James came up to them both at lunch.
James: Is Elizabeth OK
Horace: Yeah she just seems a bit upset
James: Yeah she was last night, she said she could not see me again
Rebecca: She knows you care for her, I think she just needs some space, we will tell her you were asking for her
James: Do you think she will be back at school soon
Rebecca: I don't know she didn't want anyone to know, I mean she only found out herself yesterday
A Secret service agent came up to the 3 teenagers
Agent: James Flemming
James: Yes sir
Agent: We need you to come with us
James followed the agent to an empty room
Agent: As you know the first family had bugs set around their residence and you are one of the only few people who have been in the residence without security clearance so we are going to have to take you finger prints and a DNA swab
James: But I never did it I love Elizabeth
Agent: Please we need to eliminate you, we have called your parents and your mother will be here
James mother came and they took the prints and a swab. The police did the same for Colin and Stacey, they of course found that the prints matched Colin and he was arrested.
