The school holidays started, Rebecca and Horace were still grounded after the party they had. Elizabeth was starting to feel a bit better, she and James were still Friends and they spent a lot of time together, but she still found it difficult to get to close to him. Catlin was being a typical toddler who wanted her own way all the time, her tantrums were getting much worse, Amy however had been as good as gold since her birthday, she spent a lot of time playing in the garden on her new bike.
Elizabeth was walking through the west wing looking for her aunt, she wanted to ask her permission to go out that night to James as he was having a party. She was went to the outer Oval office where Dickie and Kelly were having a conversation.
Dickie: Kelly I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but you are the face of the Allen Administration, and well, you have put on a bit of weight Kelly, this is the number of a guy I know, he will have you looking great with a great diet
Kelly: What are you saying that I am fat
Dickie: Yes Kelly you have let things slide a bit
Elizabeth entered the room
Kelly: Elizabeth are you OK
Elizabeth: Yeah Kelly I am just looking for my Aunt
Kelly: She is in a meeting she should be back in a few minuites you can wait here if you want
Elizabeth: Thanks
Dickie left the room and Elizabeth sat on one of the Sofa's, she thought that Kelly had put a bit of weight on, but she wasn't fat.
Mac came back to her office to find her niece sitting
Mac: Hi honey what are you doing down here
Elizabeth followed Mac into her office
Elizabeth: I was wondering if it would be OK if I went to James tonight,he is having a party
Mac: Will their be adult supervision
Elizabeth: Yes his Mom,
Mac: As long as you are home by 10
Elizabeth: Thank you, Aunt Mac is Kelly OK
Mac: Yeah honey why wouldn't she be
Elizabeth: I overheard Dickie and her, Dickie said that she was fat, and she seemed upset
Mac: She will be fine, why don't you go upstairs I have another meeting
Elizabeth: Thanks
Elizabeth went outside and found Amy, Rod and Catlin in the garden
Catlin: Look Elizabeth I made a sandcastle in my sandpit
Elizabeth: Great, why don't you show me another one
Rod: So what are you going to do today
Elizabeth: I am going to go for a swim and then get ready for the party
Rod: What Party
Elizabeth: At James, I asked Aunt Mac she said I could go
Rod: As long as there is no drinking
Elizabeth: I promise I won't
Elizabeth spent the day with her younger sisters playing in the garden.
Mac came from another meeting and met Kelly in her office
Mac: So have you been to the doctors again yet
Kelly: Yeah I had a scan the baby is fine, I still don't know which one the father is,
Mac: Kelly people are going to notice soon
Kelly: Dickie said that I have gained weight, I have hid it for a while, but I know it is going to have to come out soon, I am just not ready yet
Mac: It will be OK, but I think you should call your parents and sister and maybe talk to Jeremy and Dickie, they are going to have to know and you are going to have to start getting things ready
Kelly: I know I have too, but everyone is going to have a really low view of me, I am Pregnant, unmarried and I don't even know who the father is
Mac: You know what Kelly it does not matter what other people think
Kelly: Ma'am can I just say Thank you for being so supportavie, you are the only person who knows just now.
The door to the Oval office opened and Jim came in
Jim: Ma'am we need you in the sit room
Mac: Thanks Jim, Kelly can you get in contact with Jeremy I was suppose to have an interview with him can you reschedule
Kelly: Of course Ma'am
Kelly went to meet Jeremy, she found him and let him know that the President would have to change their meeting
Jeremy: Kelly can I talk to you about something
Kelly: Sure
Jeremy: Well I just wanted to let you know that my wife and I are adopting a child
Kelly: You are adopting
Jeremy: Yes the truth is I can't have children, I am infertile and well I just wanted to let you know so that you never heard it from someone else, anyway what happened between us, well it has to stay between us
Kelly: I could not agree more, no one will hear about it from me
Finally Kelly felt a bit better, she knew now who the father must be, she decided to go back to the Whitehouse to see if she could catch Dickie.
Kelly went into the Whitehouse and she found Dickie outside the Oval office.
Dickie: Kelly I just want to apologise for today, I know what I said was wrong, I never meant it to come out like that
Kelly: Forget it Dickie, it is OK
Mac came out from her office
Mac: Kelly did you get me another meeting with Jeremy?
Kelly: Yes Ma'am
Mac: Could you come in I need to speak with you?
Kelly followed her boss into the Oval office
Mac: Kelly I have been thinking and I know that having a baby is tough and financially it is very difficult, so if you need any help at all then all you have to do is ask
Kelly: Ma'am I can't take money off you, anyway I have found out who the father is
Mac: Oh are you going to enlighten me
Kelly: Dickie, I was talking to Jeremy and he told me that he can't have kids,he is infertile.
Mac: Does Dickie know yet
Kelly: No
There was a knock on the door and dickie entered
Dickie: Ma'am do you have a minute to discuss the polls
Mac: No I don't, I have a meeting to get too
Mac left her office and left Kelly and Dickie alone.
Kelly: Dickie we need to talk
Dickie: Why, what's up?
Kelly: Do you remember that night you came back to mine
Dickie: Yes that was a great night, when do you want to do it again
Kelly: This is serious, Dickie I am pregnant
Dickie: What I thought you said you were on the pill
Kelly: I am, but it obviously never worked, are you happy
Dicke: I am going to be a father, that night was almost 6 months ago
Kelly: Yes I am due in 3 and a half months
Dickie: Well are we going to get married
Kelly: I am not marrying you, or moving in with you and my baby will be a Ludlow
Dickie: Am I even going to get to see it
Kelly: Of course, Dickie I like you, but I do not love you and it would not be right to live together just for the sake of the baby
Dickie: Kelly you know I will be here for you and our baby, why are you telling me now, I mean you must have known for ages
Kelly:I was just coming to terms with it, Dickie please don't tell anyone
Dickie: Who knows?
Kelly: You and the President, no one else and for the moment I would like to keep it that way
Jim came into the Oval office looking for the President
Jim: Where is the President
Kelly: She said she had a meeting
Jim: We need to find her she is needed in the sit room again
Jim was confused why were Kelly and Dickie having such a private conversation in the Oval office
Elizabeth got ready to go to James party, she was really excited and was happy, but she felt nervous, she never really fit in properly with the other kids in school. She put on a dress and a nice pair of sandals she was glad she could wear heels again. Rebecca came into her room and helped to put her hair up.
Rebecca: So are you looking forward to tonight
Elizabeth: Yeah, but what happens when James wants to spend time with his friends, I mean no one else really likes me
Rebecca: Do you want me to come too
Elizabeth; You are grounded, I don't want to get you in trouble
Rebecca: Yeah you are probably right
Elizabeth: I better go,
