Chapter 2: Serest

Tohru closed the door, more than a little confused. But this wasn't the first time in her life that she'd been confused, so she just shrugged her shoulders. But just as she was walking back to the few articles of clothing that she had left to hang up, she hear a knock at the front door. Even more confused now she returned to the front door. She opened the front door to find a strange man standing there.

Tohru had never met this man in her life but she still had a sense of familiarity as she looked into his emerald eyes. He was taller than Tohru, but she didn't have to strain her neck to look at him. His hair was as straight as a ruler and as black as a never ending abyss that Tohru felt herself falling into. His skin was as pale as the moon and had its same glowing qualities.

For the first time in her life, Tohru found herself speechless because of someone's beauty. She found it more than peculiar that she even took much notice of his beauty. She had never done so before even when around all of the Sohmas.

"Hello," The stranger's voice was quite musical. "May I come in?"

Shigure had regained his composure and was on his feet, heading for the door. Kyo and Yuki followed close behind, a hint of anxiety in both their eyes.

Yuki was the one to ask the question that was on both of their minds. "Why is Tohru in danger?"

They had reached the car and they all got in. Shigure sat the driver's wheel, silent for a moment before putting the key into the ignition. The car roared to life and Shigure pressed the gas without waiting.

"Tell us what's happed!" Kyo shouted after he had waited long enough for the answer that was obviously not coming.

"He's back," Shigure breathed without taking his eyes off the road. "Serest is back."
