Dear Readers,

Kim Possible cartoons and characters are the property of Disney, Inc.

"She" alludes to a number of story lines from the cartoon series; they will be obvious to KP fans.

This story, of course, alludes to a number of films, primarily Notting Hill. It occurred to me when watching Notting Hill recently that the Poor Bookstore Owner meeting Famous Actress narrative would be an interesting backdrop for a Kim Possible fanfic. The trick was trying to figure out a way into a story that stayed true to the current cartoon characters, hence The Dream idea, a literary conceit that goes back to Chaucer in English literature. The other challenge was figuring out how much to borrow from the film and knowing when to back away.

There are also brief references and allusions to films such as Steve Martin's Roxanne, American Pie, Star Wars, Good Will Hunting. As far as I know, there's no such film as "Ninja Space Babes from Mars" (in case any of you go looking for a copy), but you can find plenty of similar gimmicky, raunchy guy flicks at your local video store. Roxanne is, by the way, one of my favorite movies, the theme of which is already an underlying component to the KP cartoon series, the love story between a talented outcast who secretly loves a beautiful woman who loves him in return, but doesn't know it yet.

The food network show, Good Eats starring Alton Brown, was the inspiration for Ron's food expertise, particularly the chicken incident.

Finally, I'd like to thank many of the writers who've already contributed some excellent KP Fanfiction. Many of your ideas and techniques were borrowed; hope you don't mind. And I hope to properly acknowledge my literary debts in the coming weeks and months.

Let me know if it works for you. Enjoy.
