A/N: I don't know about you, but Deathly Hallows broke my heart. Thanks a lot, Jo. You killed everyone I love. Well, ok, not everyone, but you know what I mean. So here's some MUCH NEEDED closure for a few of my favorites.

Rest in peace, Remus and Nymphadora Lupin.

It wasn't possible. He had been alive and well just that morning, playing with their son and holding her hand. His eyes were so vibrant, full of life.

And now he was lying on the floor, eyes unfocused and glassy.

She didn't have to check for a pulse to know he was dead.

In an empty, far corner of her mind, she was an observer. She calmly took in the situation all around her and her husband's body. She tried to listen to what people were shouting around her, but she couldn't understand it all. Someone was screaming in an incredibly loud voice.

It took a moment before she realized that the screams were tearing from her mouth.

She dropped to her knees over his cold body and shook his shoulders. "Wake up," she ordered, eyes wide. "Wake up, wake up, wake UP!" Hysterics soon took over. "NO! You can't be dead! I need you! WAKE UP!" She gasped for air, trying to clear her head, trying to control the sobbing; it was no use. She knew that no matter how hard she tried to revive him, her husband was dead. She was alone. He would never smile at her, or hold her to him, or sleep in the same bed...

A shadow passed over her, causing her to look up into the face of the enemy. Boiling hatred rose in her chest and she flew up at the demon spawn, letting loose a terrifying shriek. She pointed her wand and hurled curse after curse at her foe, wanting nothing more than to kill. She wanted some family somewhere to be in as much pain as she was at that moment, to go through hell knowing a loved one would never return.

Blinded by her rage, she didn't see the green light until it was too late. Her face froze in shock and she fell back on the man she loved, the light in her eyes forever dimmed.

The next thing she knew, she was standing in an incredibly white, empty area. Confusion swept over her for a moment as she tried to place where exactly she had just come from. In a matter of seconds, however, she ceased caring, as a pair of tawny eyes set in a handsome young face peered out at her, a grin reaching from ear to ear. In that moment she knew exactly where she was; the presence of her husband was enough confirmation for her.

"Remus," she breathed, not wanting to believe her eyes. She noticed that he was scar free and looked to be in his twenties; a part of her wondered what she looked like. The rest of her didn't care.

"Welcome home, Dora," he said, taking her into his arms. "We're free."

She rested her head against his chest, trying to make herself believe that it was all real. "But the war," she protested weakly. "Harry and the kids... Teddy..."

Her husband stroked her hair lovingly, the grin never fading. "Don't worry. It will all come out right. Now, come with me. Sirius wants to talk to you."

And at that moment, Nymphadora was inclined to believe him. "Ok," she replied meekly, slipping her hand into his. "I fancy I'd like to talk to him, too."
