He stirred and awoke to find himself alone his bed. He had no clothes on and the only thing sheltering him from physical exposure was the thin, warm bed sheets. Alec's body temperature may have been warm but he felt oddly cold, he knew it was from loneliness. He remembered the warmth that heated through him as he'd watched her sleep in his arms. Max was usually an insomniac because of the shark DNA in her cocktail, so Alec felt pleased with himself to give her at least an hour's rest.
Alec stared at the dip where Max head had rested in the pillow beside him, the very pillow that had absorbed her smell that summarised everything about Max in a scent. The curve was deep and still refined, maybe she had stuck around longer than he expected. Alec took a heavy breath as he reminded himself that this was Max, the girl who saw him as a complete screw-up to take the blame for everything. His hopes died at the reminder.
Alec jumped in shock as a loud thud came from outside the closed door of his bedroom. He groaned. Was Max still here? Or only leaving now?
Hearing his loud expression, Max ran into the bedroom, grinning as she held a mug of coffee. "Sorry! Your kitchen is rather confusing!" She huffed, "Not to mention messy!"
Alec was dumbfounded at the ear-to-ear grin across her face. Somehow it didn't feel like Max. Although he was sure that as she had now stopped smiling and was sitting at the end of the bed, she was going to explain what a mistake last night was. Of course, Alec didn't agree with that, he had savoured every moment of their intense and passionate night, with no regret. He just knew Max too well.
He decided to speak up first. "I know what you're thinking…it shouldn't have happened. I'm sorr- "
Max cut him off. "Don't even think about saying that word." Her voice was now also soft.
"You mean you're not gonna try to kick my ass, tell me that I should have never made such a mistake and run off to your real boyfriend?"
"No," she stayed serious against his playful yet hopeful voice. "Sure, it was a mistake that I came here (Alec nodded), but I was conscious, aware and willing last night. So it's okay, really."
Alec returned to the confused frown he'd worn only a minute before.
"Coming here was my will too, though."
She spun on her heels and headed back to the kitchen.
Alec jumped out of his bed, picking up his boxers and almost sprinting after her.
"What does that mean?"
"I came here for a reason, Alec."
"Yeah, you weren't unwilling or unconscious last night, right?" he smirked.
She chuckled, "You forgot unaware!"
Alec, still grinning, placed his hands on her hips and pushed her towards the bench, moving closer to her all the while. Max didn't protest but felt what was coming and put her coffee-warm hands on his shoulders. He lowered his head towards hers, planting his lips gently on hers.
Immediately a fire ignited between them, much like it did the night before.
-FLASH-
Alec let out a long, painful groan as he opened his eyes, awaking from a sleep on his couch. That was only a dream? Straight away, even though he was half-asleep, he knew what he had to do. He looked at the dodgy television that was still turned on across from him and picked up the nearby remote, switching it off. As he placed the remote on the table, he took his keys sitting beside it. Alec ran out of his apartment and decided to go and see Max. It was time to take a plunge.

I know, short, sweet and kinda stupid! Max was OOC and by the way, Max and Logan were together during this. Review anyway!
