So yeah, this is just the epilogue. I hope you guys enjoyed 'Goodbye My Angel'. It made me cry when I wrote it. And if you like this, I'm writing a mini series at the moment called 'Forgive and Forget' A Draco Malfoy story. Ya know how I love my Draco! ONWARDS TO THE EPILOUGE!
"Mom! Tell Fred to stop it!"
"What? I wasn't doing anything! It was Dora!"
"Stop it! The both of you!" I sighed and rubbed my temples. 'You won't see them for an entire school year. You're going to miss them. You missed Nymphadora last year.' I ran my hand through Fred's hair. He looked so much like his father did at eleven. Dark skins, mischievous eyes, even the dreadlocks, which he was pulling at nervously. I swatted his hand from his hair.
"Ya know Lee, I don't think giving Fred dreadlocks was such a good idea. Think what'll happen McGonagall when she sees mini-you walking into her classes! She'll have a fit!" I said to my husband, Lee Jordan. He grinned and knelt down to talk to Fred.
"Now remember Fred, don't mess with McGonagall. She's tough, and won't hesitate to give you a detention. Now, Flitwick doesn't mind a good joke, but nothing to dangerous." Lee lectured to Fred, who was giggling behind his hands.
"And tell Professor Longbottom that we all say hi." I added. Our twelve year old daughter, Nymphadora walked over sulkily. She was entering that age where she got attitudes. She acted a bit like her namesake. She wore odd assortments of clothing, and liked to style her glossy black hair in different styles. I'd been lenient over the summer and let her dye a strip of it bright blue.
"Oh, Professor Longbottom told me to tell you both hi last year. Must've slipped my mind all summer." She drawled. I scowled at her. "Dora…" She held up her hands defensively. "What? What? He could've written you an owl if he really cared all that much!"
"Dora..." Lee said in his dangerous fatherly tone that I still couldn't get used to. She smiled faintly. "Oh look, I think I see Kelsey Spinnet. KELSEY!" She ran off down Platform nine and three-quarters to her friend Kelsey. I gave a wave to Alicia and her muggle husband, who was looking around the platform oddly.
"Hey there Angie…..whoops! Got your nose!"
"George Weasley! You give me my nose back now or I swear to God-!" I shouted, grabbing at the place on my face where my nose should've been. Fred doubled over laughing. Lee laughed too. Through my scowl, I gave a chuckle.
"Only if you say please." George grinned. I glared at him and uttered 'please.' He gave his wand a twirl and my nose re-appeared. "George, really, try acting like an adult in front of your daughters, will you?" I sighed. Verity and their daughters, twelve year old Gwendolyn and eleven year old Morgan. Gwendolyn, Lyn, looked like her mother. Pale blonde hair and deep brown eyes. Morgan had deep red hair and hazel eyes and glasses. At the sight of me, both girls let out squeals of; "Auntie Angie!" and ran forward, knocking the wind out of me with a hug.
"Whoa, hey girls! Nice to see you too!" I gasped, untangling their arms from my waist. Verity came up behind them, smiling apologetically. "Hey Verity." I smiled and we kissed cheeks while the girls went to hug Lee. We talked for a bit. I suddenly looked around. "Jeez, where is Dora?" I mumbled. George and Lee shrugged. "I dunno. I'll find her if you like." George said. I gave a mock bow. "I'd be ever grateful."
After a moment or two, George came back, hauling Dora by her screaming collar. "UNCLE GEORGE! LET ME GO! LET ME GO! I –WANT- TO- TALK- TO- MY- FRIENDS!!" She screamed so loudly, families turned to look at them. George didn't seem to care.
"Now now little Dora. Family before friends." George said sweetly. Dora mumbled something incoherently. George turned to Lee. "By the way, that new shipment came in today. I was thinking about trying 'em out later." Lee nodded. I smiled at my husband. He had been working with George and Verity at the joke shop for nearly 16 years.
As they talked, I drifted out of the conversation, looking around me at my family. My children talking to their 'cousins', my husband and my best friends discussing jokes and such. My hand swept over my locket, which I rarely ever was without.
'Fred, they've grown up so well. I'm so blessed. Watch over them at Hogwarts. Make sure they don't get on McGonagall's bad side; Lord knows what'll happen then. Don't let Dora get into another Quidditch accident; I can't bear to get home another owl saying she fell off her broom. I know you'd be so proud of them, like I am. I miss you.'
I snapped out of it as I heard the train whistle. Dora and Fred gave me their last hug goodbyes, as did Morgan and Lyn. They ran off to the train, leaving Lee, George, verity and I waving goodbye. I watched as the scarlet engine was farther….farther…farther and then it was gone.
I smiled and leaned against Lee's chest. I was happy. I was content. What happened 18 years ago was 18 years ago. And without forgetting the life I'd had, I'd made a new one. A new life, a new hope, a new love.
And Fred's promise was still with me. He was still in my heart.
