Title: Red

Summary: A poem from Dilandau's POV. I found Dilandau to be one of the more interesting characters of

Escaflowne. His dual nature fluctuating between murdering pyromanic

and lost little child made him less of a villan and more of another tragic figure.

Characters: Dilandau

Warnings: If you haven't seen the whole series, don't read it.

Disclaimers: Escaflowne does not belong to me.

Red 04/12/01

A goblet of red wine

The colour of these eyes of mine

Red like the blood I have spilt

(Dead in my mind, I have no guilt)

Red like a rose, the memory of those

Who loved me until the end

Red as the sun as it sets in the East

How long can I pretend

I am this monsterous beast?

Red like fire and my desire

To end this war tonight

But deep inside I cannot hide

This ember of lust to fight

Rain, rain wash away the stain

And the red of the wound on my face

Rain, rain take away the pain

Return me to innocent grace

Red is my heart, now torn apart

Red is the armor I wear

Just let me know where I should go

Tell me there's someone who cares

Red like my fear, nobody's here

My past to me unknown

As I fall to my knees somebody please

Save me from being alone
