Danny, Lindsay, Flack, Stella, Mac and Hawkes were sat around a table in Danny's apartment. Danny had called them all together because he needed to say something to all of them, especially Lindsay. Since Lindsay's snow day, things had been going exceptionally well between her and Danny. He had wined her and dined her, basically treated her like a princess for the past four months, and now he felt it was time to move their relationship on.

Lindsay was talking with Hawkes, Stella and Mac were mid discussion and Danny and Flack were in the kitchen.

"I can't believe you're doing this" Flack told Danny.

Flack was the only one who knew what tonight was meant to be about.

"To be honest, if you told me a year ago I would be doing this, I probably would have laughed so hard"

"You've really fallen hard for her, haven't you?"

"Yeah, she's just perfect. We'd better get back in if I am gonna do this"

They walked back into the dining room. Flack took his seat and Danny just stood behind his. A hush fell across the table and all eyes fell on Danny.

"What are you doing, Danny?" Lindsay asked, confused.

"Montana, I have something I need to tell you. And I need everyone to hear this" Danny paused and took a deep breath "Lindsay, life has never been perfect for me. I don't think life will ever be perfect for me. For us. It will probably not go where we want it to go, but we can make it through our own little way. I couldn't imagine what my future would be like without you. Whenever I see you, I see our future. In your smile I see lots of little kids. In your eyes I see an old cottage in Montana, with us sat on the porch. I see us growing old together and having a great time doing it. I hope that when we are old and grey you will look back on this day and remember the day you got engaged. Lindsay Monroe, will you marry me?"

Lindsay was teary-eyed looking up at Danny, "Yes Messer. Of course I'll marry you"

Danny slipped a ring onto her finger and pulled her up into a hug. The whole world stopped for them in that moment, and they knew everything would be perfect, no matter what Danny said.
