After defeating the calamity, Link and Zelda set to make things right by resurrecting the Champions. However, things go wrong when the Champions start acting adversely. The group's hopes of going back to the lives they led before the Calamity turn to despair as the four martyrs are consumed by their inner demons.

A brutal war between the Zonai and Sheikah peoples sends ripples throughout the kingdom. In the midst of the violence, a young Zonai warrior discovers a mysterious ancestor, who urges him to see beyond the plight of his people.
