Clockwork Roses
emeralddarkness

Summery: Drabble. Everything around Noa is perfect – run by computer code and machinery. Sometimes he gets tired of it.

Wait, lemme check… aaaaaaaaand… nope, they're not mine.

I came up with the title for this first, actually, and liked it so much that I wanted to write something… which turned into wanting to write something about Noa… which turned into this.

It really wasn't fair. It wasn't fair at all. Noa sighed and reached down, fingering the satiny petals of the flowers under his fingers. He flicked the dew from his fingertips – it felt so real. Even though it wasn't.

It was spring outside, and the real flowers were blooming – and they were imperfect, and they gained blemishes and they came up at different times of the years or sometimes weren't there at all; they changed in variety and numbers.

But not here. Here there was nothing but random loops of computer code, and here he only had clockwork roses.

You see that nice, attractively purple review button just below? Yea, it's not just there for decoration.
