Right Where You Want Me
"So what you're saying is, I'm your brand of heroin?"
"Yes, you are exactly my brand of heroin."
His eyes flickered open, the shining gold orbs drawing me in so deep that I thought I might drown.
"I'm giving you a chance, Bella." His voice was low and husky.
"A chance to what?" I asked, wondering where he was going with this.
"To run."
Something flashed across his face that I couldn't quite distinguish, although I knew by his tone of voice that he was serious.
"Now why would I do that?"
"Because I'm bad for you, Bella. I'm dangerous."
"I don't believe that."
"You should." He whispered.
There was silence between us for a moment, before he began to speak quietly, his eyes fluttering shut again,
"Bella, there's something about me that you ought to know: I've never felt the need to loose control. I have always held back and played it slow, but not this time." Edward reached out and found my hand, his thumb beginning to run in slow circles.
"Edward, don't be gentle, I can handle anything." I replied softly.
"Baby, take me on a journey. I've been thinking lately I could use a little time alone with you."
"It's crazy, let's do something. That is, maybe if you want to." When I looked back form the flowers to his face, I realized that he was staring at me.
"You've got me right where you want me." His breath on my face was sweet and intoxicating. Perhaps I had gotten myself in a little too deep.
"Girl, I'm going to let you have your way with me. But when you move like that," He shot a quick glance to his exposed stomach where I was tracing spirals and un-uniform lines with my fingers, "It's hard to breathe. I never thought that it could be like this between us."
"Looks like you were wrong." I smirked. "I told you, Edward. Don't be gentle. I can handle anything."
"Baby, take me on a journey. I've been thinking lately I could use a little time alone with you. It's crazy, let's do something, maybe. Let's just take our time; you've got me right where you want me."
"Edward," I sighed, trying to work up enough courage to speak my mind. "I cant exactly explain it…"
His eyes bore into mine curiously.
"How you swept me off my feet, I mean." I said, shyly. "In slow motion, my imagination has been running, trying to keep my body still."
"You can hardly stand the thrill." He predicted, correctly, I might add. "I know," Edward continued kindly, "I'm feeling the exact same way. Don't be gentle, I can handle anything."
Without any warning, he pulled my face down to his. When our lips connected, I went crazy. I just couldn't help it. Placing my hands on either side of his face, I pressed against him harder, waiting for my breath to leave me altogether. Suddenly, I felt Edward go stiff beneath me. Taking this as a sign to stop, I pulled back and looked into his stone hard face.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to- I just…" I stammered, unable to explain myself.
"Just give me a minute," He answered, his hands still holding tightly to my face.
After a moment, his carefree façade came back and he chuckled lightly. "Well, maybe I can't handle anything."
I blushed at my wild attack. "I might have to agree with you there."
"Just remember Bella, you've got me right where you want me. Don't disregard that fact, but at the same time, don't go overboard. Take advantage of it and enjoy it. I know I will."
