A slight breeze rippled the water, breaking the warm summer air that was settled around the beach. Victoire sighed lightly; the combination of the smell of the ocean, the warm air, and the heavy darkness of nighttime made her somewhat lethargic.
Tilting her head up towards the sky, Victoire inhaled sharply. A full moon sat up in the distance, casting an eerie glow on the sand. Suddenly the weariness she'd felt earlier had been replaced by a much more bothering feeling. She wrapped her arms tightly around her stomach and drew her knees up to her chin. Ripping her eyes away from the moon, Victoire shifted her gaze to the right.
Teddy's posture was almost an exact reflection of hers. His arms were wound around his stomach, fists gripping the sides of his shirt. His eyes were fixated on the glowing orb above them, not at all bothered by Victoire's staring.
"Teddy?" She hesitantly broke the silence, waiting until he slowly turned his gaze onto her, "Do you always feel sort of…empty…or hollow…when the moon's full?"
Neither of them had broken their stiff posture except for the fact that their heads were presently turned towards each other.
"Every time." He replied, nodding his head. Sighing deeply, he let go of his sides and reached out to touch her hair, "It's really glowing. Did you know it glows a lot more when it's a full moon out?"
Victoire nodded, brushing her hair out of her face, "I know, I know. I'm such a freak." She smiled lightly, relaxing her own posture and leaning forward to plant her lips on his.
The hollow feeling that had been ripping at their chests seemed to disappear, as if their connection were making up for the emptiness. Pulling back for a moment, Victoire grinned sheepishly, "I think you're my other half."
"Ditto," He returned her grin, leaning back in to close the space between them.
