Chapter: From a brother to a father.
It fell as a bombshell to Yugi, he knew something was up the moment he sat at the table eating dinner with his grandfather and one plate missing, when his mother suddenly told them she was getting married with a guy he never saw before. It hit him hard probably because his mother never seemed to date anyone.
"But, will we move there? Will he move in with us? Why haven't grandpa and I met him before? Or do we know him?" he asked stumped.
"Only I will move, your old enough to take care of your grandfather and yourself, and no, he and I started dating recently, that's all you need to know."
"But why mom? Why so suddenly? Did you even date the man before coming to this decision?"
"Do you know how hard it is to find a man that doesn't look upon a woman with a child she was forced onto at age 15! You ruined my life!" she snapped at her son who looked down and shook his head. "that's what I thought! You don't know because you never was there when your sperm-donor raped me!" she snapped and walked out of the kitchen leaving her father and son behind stunned.
After that confrontation in the kitchen 6 months ago, Yugi never saw his mother again, and he tried not to dwell on it that much, as a 20 year old he still hung out as much as possible with his friends and right now he was preparing himself to meet up with his friends and boyfriend and go to the arcade, he said bye to his grandfather and when he walked out of the game-store he bumped into a woman. "Ow." He exclaimed before apologising to the lady in font of him.
"Oh Yugi, how are you doing son." The woman asked him and delved him into a hug that felt familiar to Yugi and he could not help but hug her back briefly. He takes a quick glance towards her and she is dressed in a expensive coat, but de stroller she has with her looks like it belongs on a dumpster. He tries to see her face, but it's covered thickly in makeup, and the sunglasses are not much helpful also.
"I'm good ma'am, thank you, I'm sorry but I have to be somewhere." He politely says before pulling himself free of the woman and running off.
The whole day this woman played his mind, why had that hug felt so familiar but yet so long lost also? He just could not wrap his head about it. "Little One? Somethings on your mind?" his boyfriend Atem asks.
"Yeah, but I'll figure it out." he says with a smile and pecs his boyfriend on the lips before focussing on his friends and having fun with them.
That evening he comes home and the smell of Lasagne waffles towards him, hmm last time he had that was on that dreaded day when his mother left, he never mastered that recipe like she did, and the memories prevented him to remind him of that last day his mother was around.
The voice of his grandfather, a woman and what sounds like the crying of a baby came from the living part of the building so he trudges upstairs calling he is home before walking into the living room and seeing his mother, makeup heavily plastered on her face, but now the sunglasses are gone, he recognizes those eyes he missed so much, the woman that left off 6 months ago sitting on her old spot on the couch, a baby judging by the pink clothes its wearing, a girl, with the same ebony hair she has but the most gorgeous baby blue eyes a girl can muster. Damn, how old would this little one be? And why is she here? He wonders himself before snapping himself back to reality.
"Hey grandpa," he says walking towards the old man and delve him in a loving hug. "did you have a good day?"
"I did my boy." The old man chuckles seeing what Yugi is doing, he never is this possessive when a different woman is around. "sit down Yugi, your mother and I have some news to share." The elder says and Yugi takes a chair from the table and placing it at the other side of the couch as to show his mother he is not willing to sit next to her, not yet at least, he still is hurt from those words 6 months ago.
"Why are you here, you were clear enough when you blamed me for what my donors mistake did to you!" he demands in a tone his mother never before heard coming from her son.
She understands he is angry, but doesn't understand why he is so mean. "I can't believe you bring this up right now, you do understand it wasn't my intention to do so?" It was rather harsh to do what she did, she left out of the blue, not telling where she would move to, no even the fact she was with child. She only told them she was going to marry and they weren't invited. It had hurt the boy deeply.
"You always told me I never was to blame for my donor raping you! A child never is to blame for their parents mistake, yet you shout out that I'm the one ruining your life! Yet you cut my heartstrings deeply by telling the opposite from what you told me before! That's not fair mother!"
"Yugi!" his grandfather says sternly cutting his grandson off right away.
Yugi takes a breath. "Why are you here?" he asks with clear strain in his voice.
"He didn't like the idea of marriage and fatherhood, we split and I move back in here."
"So your moving back, okay, who's the kid?" Yugi asks keeping his tone stern but softening for the little girl that clings to his mother so much.
"Yugi, I want you to meet your little sister, Heba." His mother says
"How old is she?" he asks her gently.
"A day, full term." His mother responds and Yugi takes a moment to process what his mother just said and then violently had stood from his chair, eyes fuming with an anger, he himself wasn't possible able to possess. The chair clatters down on the floor but he gives it no mind.
"You are the perfect picture example of a beloved mother! You left me and grandpa for that man while you was with child and never cared about how hard it was not only for me but also for gramps!" he says before storming towards his room and packing a overnight bag while cussing about how unfair she was to him.
When he had packed his bag he walks towards the living. "I'm going to Atem for a while don't wait up." He says before storming outside into the buckets of rain that just had started to fall but heading it no mind, hearing the little girl cry is the only thing on his mind and he needs to find rest to comprehend what is going on with his life.

Loud bouncing on the door alerts the attendants living in the mansion, a maid walks towards the door and opens it only to see a drenched Yugi in front of her, his hair matting his face but what takes her back are the red rimmed and puffy eyes he normally doesn't have when he is caught in the rain. "Oh my, straight to the shower, I inform the young master of your arrival and that he will find you in his room when you are finished, have you eaten?" She says taking his drenched bag and shoes.
He mutters a, no, and thank you before trudging up the huge staircase towards Atem's private chambers directly into his bathroom where he strips himself from his wet clothes and jumps into the hot shower allowing the chill to go away.
After a long and warm shower he finally has the chill of his bones, his head feels like it's willing to burst because although he cried all the way towards the Sennen mansion, he also cried in the shower. And he didn't feel any better. Sigh. Life sucks on so many levels.
Walking into the bedroom a towel around his waist and another one around his shoulders to catch the droplets still in his damp hair, he also feels his stomach rumbling, that's right, even though he came home before dinner like he always did, he never had dinner.
Sitting on the bed sits his boyfriend, his trademark smirk only reserved for him, a look towards the desk makes Yugi take a look also and a smile creeping up to him, chicken tandoori with rise, yum, one of his favourites, but before he is willing to eat he wants to cuddle his boyfriend, talk and cry again even though it doesn't help with the headache already terrorising him.
Atem who sees what the younger wants to do stops him and points to a small stack on the bed. "dress first before you catch a cold, you don't want to hurt Anzu's feelings when she hears you ate a cold dinner instead of the warm still steaming right now while I take care of your head, then we talk, cuddle and sleep." He says gently but sternly.
Yugi smiles weakly, walks to the bed and dresses in the boyleg boxer, sweatpants and t-shirt his boyfriend has lend him, of course his clothes need to be dry first, and his overnight bag isn't exactly waterproof.
Fully dressed he sits himself at the desk he takes the chopsticks and starts to eat while his boyfriend walks behind him and starts to take care of his still dripping hair. The soothing feeling of Atem brushing and drying his hair does some wonders for his acing head already, he is happy his boyfriend understands what it is to have a thick mass of hair that soaks in louds of water like a sponge when getting wet since he has a thicker mass on his head.
"Anzu told me you looked like you cried, and you had a overnight bag with you, did you have a fight with your grandfather?" Atem asks worried since the younger never is one to fight with his grandfather only when it comes to games, and even then he knows Yugi isn't a sour loser, he takes his lost like a man.
Yugi takes his time to chew the bite of chicken he just took and when he swallows he gently shakes his head. "No, but something happened and I still can't wrap my head around it." He says softly before taking another bite.
Atem understands, allowing the boy to eat while he keeps working at the hair of the boy, brushing it in a soothing way and making sure he gets all the knots out with a gentle smile on his face reminiscing a year ago when they first met each other.
Flashback:
He Yugi and their friends met a year ago, his father was transferred from Egypt towards Japan for his job. Atem wasn't willing into going to a private school like his sister but rather wanted to go to a public college, he was enrolled into Domino college for gaming an drawing directly into junior year.
He bumped into Yugi on his way to the office to get his schedule quite literally and immediately was taken by the younger boys eyes that were in such a strange amethyst looking colour but with blue sparkles in them to show his youthfulness.
He was the first to gather his senses and helped the boy stand when he noticed a strange devise on the younger boys upper arm, but paid it no mind, he probably would never see this kid again after this.
They apologised and the boy asked him where he needed to be, when the older told he needed to be at the office Yugi was happy to show him the way. "I never saw you before over here, my name is Yugi Muto, I study game development and art." He explains with a sweet tone in his youthful voice.
"Atem Sennen, I just transferred, I study the same subjects but also music." He says and wondered why this kid was on his way to the office also. "You got in trouble?" he asked seeing the kid obviously belonged here seeing he was in his school uniform already.
"No, need a note to explain why I'm late and have this thing on me." The kid explains before stopping in front of a door and knocking on it and then walking inside.
You go first, I don't wish to be another reason to why you are even more late." Atem says with a wink and sees a blush appear on the adorable youthful face of the teen. Who gladly takes the offer.
"Hello, I wish to have a note, I needed to visit the doctor this morning and get my new meds. I also need a note as to why I need to carry this thing on my body and can't take it of." He says to the lady behind the desk.
"Okay, Muto is late because of his monthly doctors visit. And what's with the device?" the lady asks him sweetly. Monthly visit? What's wrong with him? Atem wonders curiously.
"It's a omnipod, it provides me the needed insulin instead of dragging it with me all the time and needing to go to the nurse each time when I'm low. It sits there for three days before I need to remove it and place a new one on a different place on my body." The young man explains while the lady is typing on the computer in front of her.
"And how do you control it? do you need to bring it to the nurses office?"
"I have an app on my phone that provides the info connected to the pod." He says. "this was the only way to get the insulin intake regularly since I'm not that good with it, and when I'm low it also takes care of it, no, this does not have to be in the nurses office anymore, but I was planning on dropping by during lunch and tell her."
"Very well." The woman says and stands from the table walking towards a printer, she takes the form off of it and cuts one piece of the form, the small piece she folds into half before placing it into a machine and waits for a bit before returning. The small piece plasticated and a small whole pressed into it. "Hang this together with your student ID, if a professor asks why you are on your phone to provide you of insulin, you can show them." She says and hands both pieces of paper to the boy and then turns her attention to the young man that walked in together with Yugi.
"Hello, how can I help you?"
"My name is Atem Sennen, I was told to come here before going to class?" the older boy says politely.
"Ah yes, Yugi wait for a bit please?" she asks the younger and then turns her attention back to the older teen handing him a package with papers. "These contain the books you are required to have within at least 14 days, your schedule, the layout of campus, and locker number, the starter combination is 0000 this form shows how you can change your combination and I'm sure Yugi here is willing to help you set it, at the end of the school year we reset the lockers, so make sure nothing is left, from my understanding you don't take a dorm but rather sleep at home." She explains and wait till the older teen nods his head. "good Yugi here can show you around, you have the same schedule he has. Now off to class you two." She says before shooing the boys out.
Their junior year was fun, Atem learned to know Yugi's friends and befriended them also real quick, mostly because the thing they had in common has something to do with gaming, he invited them over and both his parents loved that Atem already had this much friends, but they also saw the special look he shared with that amethyst eyed boy.
Three months being friends and dancing around each other frustrated Ryou so much he managed to lure the two tricoloured haired teens towards an empty broom closet, shoved them in and locked them for the whole day at school. The two talked together and eventually they kissed.
Flashback ends:
"Shit." He hears his boyfriend say and is brought back from his musings.
"What's wrong?"
"I forgot I need to change the omnipod tomorrow, I was so angry I forgot to pack one plus the items to do so." Yugi says "and I really don't wish to go home right now."
"Okay, what time do you need to change it?"
"At five pm." The boy sighs "I hate having diabetes."
"You never told me, but which type diabetes do you have?"
"I never told any of my friends also, they just took it as a thing belonging to me first the moments I went to the nurses office and now with the omnipod, everybody knows it's a part of me." The boy smiles softly before standing and walking to the bed plopping himself down on it. "I have type 1, have it since I was a baby."
"how come?"
"I'm born a preemie, from what I understood mom had pregnancy diabetes and she was bought to attention there was a small chance I could get it also, at the six months mark mom got terribly sick and to save both our lives they needed to get me out, one of the many health issues a preemie can have on a later age but also as a baby is diabetes, and when you have it, you can not grow out of it."
"Okay, I thought it had something to do with you being this small."
"It can be a reason. But even though I have it, I'm happy my diet allows me to have sweets and stuff." The boy says with a chuckle and making himself comfortable on the bed.
Atem crawls next to him, pulling his lover into the little spoon he always is when sleeping over, and pulling the blankets over them both. "And what happened that you ran away from home."
A long silence makes Atem wonder if the boy fell asleep. "Mom showed up today." Yugi says in a whisper. "But I think what is upsetting me most, is, she had a baby with her, a girl only a day old. She told me the girl is my sister, she was pregnant of her three months when she took off."
Atem pulls away from Yugi, he knows much about the Muto history, even the part Yugi was not created in an act of love, but that his mother was raped when she was only just 15 years old and he came out of that rape. It was his luck he looked so much like his mother and grandfather, otherwise his mother had given him up for adoption shortly after his birth. "But I thought you told me she married and disappeared without a trace?"
"She did, she announced it out of nowhere and left us to fend for ourselves six months ago basically telling me it was my fault she got pregnant 20 years ago. It didn't take me a second to realise she must have been pregnant with Heba when she dropped the bomb. This evening she told us they got divorced and she came back home with the girl." The boy sighs. "I needed some time so I packed my bag and came here."
He feels the hands of his boyfriend gently pressing his neck. "Take of your shirt and lay on your stomach." The elder whispers and Yugi gladly complies, he loves Atem's massages.
It was a day after his 20th birthday he discovered Atem's skills for the first time when the elder took him along to the mansion and told his present would be in his bedroom. When he walked inside candles were lid and gentle music sounded through the speakers.
Yugi was ordered to take off his clothes but to leave his undies on, confused Yugi did as he was told and then needed to lay down on the bed where Atem spoiled his body lovingly and soothingly. It was also that night Yugi asked Atem to take it. and Atem gladly took it from him.
In three weeks he has a special surprise for this very same man because then it hit's their one year anniversary.
After massaging him for a while the elder man feels Yugi relaxing completely and soon he hears the deep inhales of breaths in when he sleeps and the gentle snores of the younger. Good Little One needs his rest, he will talk with him tomorrow. He works on the final kinks in Yugi's back and then cuddles himself against the younger also falling asleep.
Next noon:
Both Atem and Yugi step inside the game-shop, Yugi not willing to, but knowing he has to face the facts, both Atem's parents and his grandfather were clear when they stated sleepovers only in the weekends even though they were college students and adults. So he needed to pull himself together. Also he needed to change the omnipod today otherwise he would get into trouble with his insulin levels. And since having this thing he never had low sugar anymore so it's defiantly worth having it.
Grandpa looks up from his newspaper while sitting at the counter, ready to greet his costumers when he sees the two boys in the store. "She's upstairs, she understands your reaction, but you need to talk with her and set out clear boundaries." The old man says gently but with a light hint of sternness in his tone.
"Thanks grandpa." The boy says before turning to his boyfriend. "Talk to you later?"
"Call me when you are finished." Atem says with a smile before waving to the old man and walking to his car.
Yugi follows his boyfriend until he is out of sight before heaving a deep sigh and turning towards the living part of the house.
Phone call:
"She practically demanded I gave my room to Heba and I needed to share with her or grandpa."
"She What? what did you say."
"Told her that this room was mine since I was a kid, and that it would stay my room until I officially moved out of the game-shop. I'm adult and in need of privacy when I'm doing homework. she didn't think I would think this way but grandpa supported me, told her I was too old to share room with an adult also because I'm dating you. Heba will share her room with mom and I keep mine." The boy grins in his phone while laying on the bed keeping a close eye on his alarm clock.
"Good job Little One. And what did she say about your omnipod?"
"I have this thing since before she left, but she couldn't remember, she saw it coming by a few times on social media, she thought it only was designed for babies toddlers and children under ten. But she's happy it makes me feel allot better than before." He says standing up and walking to his desk. "Gonna place you on speaker for a moment." He says while pressing the speaker button and placing the phone on a shelve while taking his medical bag out.
"And how's the little girl?"
"Actually, she's quit lovely, even though I scared her somewhat yesterday when I was angry, she obviously already took a liking towards me when I was bottle feeding her, and mom even allowed me to change her diaper, little girl took a big smile before falling asleep." He says while taking out all the supplies he needs to change and prepare the new pod. He has done this a hundred times already and almost can do it blindly. "Where to put it this time?"
"Your stomach, left side." Atem responds knowing what Yugi is doing, he always reminds Yugi where he hasn't have the pod yet. But he also knows the pod needs to placed on either upper arm, stomach or upper leg. Leg is off since it rubs to much with the pants, but during the summer Yugi has no trouble with it there since he wears lose shorts then that aren't so constricting.
A knock sounds on the door of the younger, he simply allows an enter but keeps focussing on his task. His mother steps in. "Dinner is ready, you coming?"
"Yeah, I need to finish this first." The younger says before turning his attention to the phone again. "Need to go Tem, you heard mom."
"Sure see you tomorrow, come and get you?"
"Please? You swipe off? Having my hands full at the moment."
"Okay, tomorrow, 7.30 sharp. Love you." Atem says before swiping the phone off allowing Yugi to finish placing the pod onto his stomach and gently hisses when he feels the thing connecting to his body.
Phone call ends:
"Does it hurt?" his mother asks making the younger jump a bit, he thought she already was at the kitchen. "When you place that thing?"
"No, but the feeling isn't pleasant, was there anything else?"
"He's your friend? The same you went to yesterday?"
"He's more than just a friend mom, he and I are dating almost a year now."
"I'm happy for you. I'd like to meet him someday." She says with a gentle smile and sees how Yugi makes sure everything is in place and cleaned up. He then walks over and closes his arms around her into a deep cuddle.
"It wasn't easy when you left."
"I know, your grandfather told me, and I'm sorry baby. I'm so sorry." She whispers in his ear gently allowing a sob to escape.
Thirza-1984.
"She goes to the same day-care you went to." His mother is explaining him when the two are doing the dishes while grandpa went to the living with Heba.
"Mom, if it's all the same, I'm close to graduating my art studies and next year my developing studies, I need time to study and such."
"She's my responsibility, not yours, but there are days I ask you to babysit her."
The week went on, and when at home and not into his studies he took the time to get to know the one he now needs to see as his little sister, his mother kept to her promise and tried not to bother him as much so he can focus on his studies. That Friday however….
The gang had decided to stay the night at Ryou's to work on a massive group project. It was agreed with his grandfather that he would return Sunday after dinner. This time Yugi was carrying the pod on his right arm and he regretted to place it there because at night he was always bothered by it since right is his side to sleep on.
The gang all walk out of school and they see Yugi is ready to take a nap sooner rather than start the project right away. So they were discussing how to schedule their weekend with Yugi napping in between the project. When suddenly the youngest member of the group dashes across the street and a loud screech from tires sliding over the asphalt to a stop.
A red car stands still, the wheels still smoking from the sudden break he needed to take and a man steps out of the car dashing towards the front side. The group who come around from their shock also take a leap towards the other side of the road and see Yugi laying on the sidewalk curled up around a little baby, protecting her with his own body and clearly fighting to calm his nerves.
"Yugi!" the gang shouts and try to calm him down so they can free the little baby who is crying and clawing at Yugi's jacket. The driver of the car is apologising over and over, saying he didn't see the baby stroller rolling onto the street until Yugi zipped by and grabbed her out of the thing and allowed to let the stroller collide with the car while tumbling down clutching himself around the girl and protect her from harm.
Atem and Ryou are focussing on Yugi to calm him enough so he can relax his muscles while Tea is trying to pray the little girl free from Yugi and cooing soft and gentle words in the hope to calm the little one down.
Finally the three manage to calm Yugi and allow him to let the crying baby free while they help him sit up and noticing why he was in such state. During the fall he had scraped the pod against the concrete and hurt his arm badly. Ryou looked at it and decided this would become a trip to the hospital.
Yugi looks towards Tea who holds the little baby and clearly is scanning the area to figure where the hell his mother is. But he can find her nowhere.
The baby who still is crying pulls his attention towards her and he asks Tea to hand the little one to him, a bit clumsy he takes her in his left arm and just like that the baby calms down, snuggles herself against Yugi and falls asleep.
"Yug, who's the little one?" Joey asks clearly confused to why a baby calms down this soon while in the safety of a stranger.
"Guys, I want you all to meet Heba, my little sister." Yugi whispers feeling dizzy from the adrenaline slowing down and feeling the pain in his arm becoming real. "Where's mom?" he struggles to say keeping the little girl close to his body.
"I don't know, but we need to get the two of you to the hospital, I fear the pod is giving you way to much insulin. Your phone is pinging like it does when you get a shot of insulin." Ryou says calmly as to not to spook the young man with the little baby.
The driver of the car who talked with Honda and Joey offers to bring Yugi and Heba to the hospital and even is willing to pay for the bill so he ushers Yugi with Heba in his arms, Atem and Ryou in the car. The gang decides to inform their professor of what had happened to insure their delay of the project is ensured and go home for now.
Yugi lost consciousness during the ride there and when the doctors saw him they took him to the emergency right away making sure the insulin intake was taken down as quickly as possible.
Atem stayed with Heba while a doctor was checking her over, he was to much out of it to explain the doctors what type of diabetic Yugi has, and it was Ryou who could answer those questions. So as a silent agreement he stayed with the baby and tried calling grandpa since he didn't have Yugi's mothers number and he could not find Yugi's phone on his boyfriend.
What grandpa told him, shocked him. The old man was beyond upset for what his daughter had done. Atem decided to call his parents and asked them to take care of the old man for now.
Exhausted and ready to allow sleep take them away three young men and one baby enter the Sennen mansion as that was the closest home to the hospital, it's late at night when they managed to bring down the sudden insulin intake and Yugi is stable enough to start the day over. His right arm heavily bandaged hiding the stitches thy needed to place after the doctors had removed the omnipod. Luckily they have a few in stock so they could place a new one right away.
Atem's mother greets them, takes Heba over from Atem telling them she takes care of the little girl and ushers the three to Atem's chambers, Ryou dons himself into a pj while Atem helps Yugi into bed, as soon as the three hit the pillow, they fall asleep and will not wake until next morning.
Next morning the three men slowly come to the land of the living. They yawn loudly and stretch wide till that satisfying pop only to hear a hiss from Yugi's mouth since the stiches are bothering him.
After donning their clothes, Yugi in a pair of Atem's since his were covered in blood, they walk downstairs towards the kitchen were Mana is sitting at the table bottle-feeding Heba and cooing cute little nothings.
Yugi smiles when he sees his maybe soon future in-law playing with his one week old sister, but it also makes him wonder. Where the hell is mom?
"Mom and your grandfather will be out soon, she needed to make sure all papers were there." She says making Yugi look puzzled.
"What papers?" he asks feeling left out for some reason, but the shrug of Atem's twin only tells him she is just as clueless. "Dunno, she asked me to watch this cutie over here when she started to fuss and I figured since mom just had dressed her in a fresh diaper, she wanted a bottle."
Yugi smiles, but he is also worried. Why do I have the feeling she left again, and this time for good?
A hand on his shoulder brings him out of his musings. "Let's eat, Anzu made breakfast." Atem says and the three men sit down next to Mana. "Ryou I'm curious, how did you know about Yugi's diabetes?"
Ryou looks over the table, lifts his shirt and it also shows a omipod. "I also have type 1 and when I peeked Yugi's phone when it was dinging like crazy, I figured it soon enough." He says calmly. "I only carry the thing on my stomach since I don't feel quite comfortable with it." He says but before he can explain further Yugi's grandfather and Atem's mother walk inside the kitchen both with grim looking faces.
Yugi stands from the table and in three long strides he is with his grandfather who happily takes his grandson in a hug and softly sobs in his grandsons neck.
"She's gone, she took Heba yesterday and only left a note saying she was sorry." The old man sobs out and making look Yugi even more puzzled.
But it's Atem's mother who pulls the old man away and guides them to the table. When seated she slides a notebook towards Yugi.
Dear dad and Yugi,
I'm sorry, but I owe you a proper explanation.
I never divorced the man I came to love, but his family is against bastards children, they told me to gain their acceptance, to get rid of the child but I never could.
I decided to visit you, and hoped I was strong enough to ask you to take care of her, but I got scared, both of you have so many things that keep you busy. So I decided it would be best if I drop her off to an orphanage, and take my leave to my new family.
Yugi, I meant what I said, when you was little, your not to blame for your sperms deed, in fact seeing you are not Heba's half-brother but her full brother.
I broke things off back then with your father, told a lie and made it convincing to go with to save his name. Yes you were a mistake, but one of the best mistakes id ever made and I'm proud of being your mother.

Yugi clenched the paper in his shaking hands, trying his hardest not to rip it apart. "She's right, I can't do it anymore, I hoped I finally could be a grandfather, not only a father." The old man whimpers.
"That bitch!" Yugi says harshly, standing from the table and make a dash towards the front door.
But before he reaches the door, Atem has grabbed him. "What are you planning to do Yugi! Doctor said to take it easy!" he says harshly.
"I'm going to kill her for what she did to us! This isn't fair! Heba almost got killed because of her selfish behaviour! I can't bring my sister to an orphanage just so grandpa and I keep living the way we do!-"
"Then we adopt her, we like in you and me, I always wanted a child but since we are in a gay relationship it's not possible for us. She can stay here in the mansion for the time being and when we are finished with college we find a place of our own were we can raise her and love her like fathers do." Atem says pulling Yugi in a deep cuddle hoping he will stop struggling to find his mother and give her a peace of his mind.
"But I'm not her father Atem, I'm her brother. I don't know if I can Atem." Yugi says calming down real slow. "I do not wish for us to give up our dreams, how will it look if we both are parents without a degree. We never find a decent job when we take to parenthood right now."
"Little One, let me be your voice of reason, do you really give her up knowing she ends in the orphanage and possibly be adopted in a family that does not wants you to contact her?" Atem asks and Yugi shakes his head no. "then what are you afraid of, we will work out everything just fine. You love that little girl just as much as your grandfather does, do you not wish to see a little one bouncing their grandfathers lap when she's old enough?"
"But college?"
"When we have classes she can go to day-care, for now I'm sure mom and Mana will take care of her while we study." Atem says soothingly and sees the younger is taking in everything his boyfriend says. "I love you Yugi, and I want to share this experience with you to become her father. We will manage."
Atem gasps when Yugi has planted his lips against Atem's passion flowing from both men. "Marry me." Yugi says in between kisses and when Atem hears he only throws more passion in the kiss letting his boyfriend know, he said yes.
Years later:
"And that's how we came to adopt you, and keep you under blood relatives. We both needed to prove our intentions to take you as our daughter were real and that we were in a healthy relationship and able to provide you. Your great grandfather took you on Wednesday while your grandmother and aunt Mana took care of you on Monday and Friday while we were following our classes, the other four days we took care of you." Atem tells the 10 year old Heba.
"They had some concerns with me being diabetic, but when my medical history showed the judge I had it under control since having the omnipod, he agreed for us to take you as our own."
"But daddy? Weren't you scared?" the ten year old looks at her brother/father.
"of course we were scared we both were baby-girl, we were scared as to how you would react when we told you I'm in reality your brother, but we were the most scared over what would happen when you would reach your first period, and we can praise us lucky that both aunt Mana and Tea helped us with that." Yugi says when the doorbell suddenly rings. Yugi gets from the kitchen table and walks to the front door and when he opens the door he has a feeling of dejavu.
His mother stands there on the threshold, she looks at her now 30 year old son and jumps forward to grasp him in a hug, but Yugi doesn't appreciate it one bit and stops her. "What nerve do you have after you left 10 years ago and now you show up thinking everything is just okay!"
"I can explain."
"You didn't explain properly 10 years ago, what makes you think I can believe you now!" he says coldly and while saying that Heba and Atem show their faces.
"Is that?" she asks and Atem pulls Heba protectively against him. "it can't be, how? I thought I did it right."
"What? to attempt murder on not only her, but also me! I have permanent damage at my arm from when I needed to pluck her out the stroller!" Yugi coldly says.
"I came to collect her. She's still my daughter and it isn't healthy to grow up with two men living together." She says out of the blue while Heba presses herself closer towards Atem.
"That's up to her to decide in front of a judge. But if it's because you think we don't know how to help her going through her first period you are dead wrong, we already did our part. If you want her back you can contact our lawyer and set out a date in court. He knows our schedules. If she wishes to go with you then I accept that, but for now she stays under my roof because I'm her father together with Atem! Goodbye mom." Yugi says and closes the door when he feels a sudden impact.
"Daddy, i don't want to go with her, you are my Daddy's and mommy's!" Heba cries in her brothers chest and it touches them both she came to love them so much.
"then you only have to tell the judge, you are according the law old enough to say who you want to be with, and we always support you baby-girl." Yugi says soothingly to the girl he raised as his own.
Three weeks later the Muto-Sennen family step outside the courtroom , all three happy smiles plastered on their faces, the judge was not friendly towards the attempts to get her daughter back, and she hoped that she was in her right since she's the biological mother of Heba. But the judge likes to look to where a child enjoys herself, and he saw that besides the fact Yugi and Atem are gay and Yugi also is Heba's brother. They love her as their own daughter.
Also, since it had become a cold case that could be opened now, Yugi's and Heba's mother was arrested for attempted murder on an adult, and infant, and her own children.
