It was a day in art class sometime after Kevin's big duel with Shadow Rider Leader, Kagemaru, who only desired to be young again with the power of the Sacred Beasts. After the duel, Kevin, and Camula had agreed to get the Sacred Beasts under there protection for now on, and will only use them if needed, and now they are in art class together drawing artwork of cards they want.
"Guess it's another talent, I didn't know you had." Kevin admitted seeing Camula's artwork of Vampire Lady which is almost like the real thing.
"Thank you Kevin." Camula smiled. "Though, I think someone else is the better artist."
Kevin looked over to see Chumley's painting. Chumley was painting a cliff during a sunrise which he reacted stunned, "Whoa Chumley that's a really good painting!"
"Uh thank you." Chumley said embarrassed with a smile, "This is Ayers Rock when the sun shines."
"I've heard of Ayers Rock before..." Kevin admitted hearing that before smiling, "Well this definitely a piece of art that should be seen by anyone!"
"You really think so?" he asked looking at it before smiling. "What are you painting by the way?"
"It's honestly just Transylvania." Kevin admitted showing the Vampire Kingdom Field Spell he's working but does look like it needs work.
"It looks pretty good to me." Chumley admitted before the screen turned on depicting Dr. Crowler.
"Chumley Huffington, you are to report to Chancellor Sheppard's office immediately." Dr. Crowler stated.
"Huh?" Chumley asked surprised. "Oh, ok."
"Did anything bad happen?" Syrus asked as they watch Chumley headed off.
"I don't know, we should probably ask him when he comes back." Jaden suggested.
Meanwhile...
"Chancellor Sheppard? You wanted to see me?" Chumley asked walking into the Chancellor's office with Dr. Crowler, and Chancellor Sheppard in the office.
"Ah there you are Chumley my boy. Here." Sheppard smiled handing him a card.
Chumley blinked taking it before his eyes widened. "Wait, this is..."
It was a card depicting the same thing as his painting.
"Ayer's Rock Sunrise..."
"Congratulations Chumley. Your design in Industrial Illusion's contest has been improved." Sheppard smiled to him.
His eyes widened in shock as the TV screen suddenly switched on.
"You must be Chumley-boy, it's a pleasure to meet you." mentioned a man with long white hair covering one of his eyes. "I am Maximillian Pegasus, the president of Industrial Illusions and the creator of Duel Monsters."
"The president of Industrial Illusions, this is an honor sir." Chumley mentioned bowing.
"The honor is mine, I must admit when I saw your design I knew immediately it was a real winner. In fact, I'd like to make you an offer." Pegasus mentioned. "How would you like to come work at Industrial Illusions designing more cards like the one in your hands?"
Chumley's eyes widened. "That... it's an incredible honor. Thank you."
"I should be thanking you Chumley-boy." Pegasus smiled.
"This is a great honor Chumley, and you have my full support." Sheppard smiled.
"Me... working at Industrial Illusions, it's a dream come true." Chumley admitted.
"Too good." Dr. Crowler told him.
Chumley turned to him in confusion.
"What I meant is that all of us but I will recommend you, and I can't allow it." Dr. Crowler told him.
"Huh, but why?" Chumley asked in shock hearing that.
"Why it's because you has flunked multiple advancements for years." Dr. Crowler answered, "And you haven't grown as a Duelist at all. I'll make this fair by challenging you."
Chumley's eyes widened in shock. "You mean... if I can somehow beat you in a duel you'll let me work at Industrial Illusions?"
"Indeed. But if you lose, your EXPELLED." Dr. Crowler answered simply.
"Expelled?" Chumley asked in horror.
"Well, I'd wouldn't worry." Sheppard assured him with a smile, "From your duel with your father, if you came close to defeating him, then I don't have a doubt you can do as well against Crowler, Chumley."
Chumley blinked before nodding. "Right, ok Dr. Crowler I accept your challenge."
"I'll give you the rest of the school day off for you to be ready. Tomorrow we see if your ready." Dr. Crowler told him.
Chumley nodded. "Thank you."
Later...
Chumley explained about what happened, and Dr. Crowler's challenge over to Jaden, and the others.
"So if you win you get to work for Pegasus's company, that's awesome Chumley." Jaden grinned.
"Just relax and do your best, I'm sure things will be fine." Syrus mentioned. "Maybe..."
"What is it, Sy?" Jaden asked hearing him trailing off in thought.
"Well, it's just that Dr. Crowler is really strong." Syrus admitted.
"True, he is a talented duelist... and could have beaten me." Camula admitted before frowning.
"Well I see this as an interesting challenge." Kevin admitted with a smile, "And in fact, I know he can show Crowler that Chumley came a long way!"
"You think so?" Chumley asked.
"Yeah. You almost defeated your dad, who is a Professional so there's not a doubt that you can handle him." Kevin winked with a grin.
Chumley smiled hearing that. "Right, thanks guys."
The next day...
Chumley, and the group walked together entering Obelisk Arena where they find Dr. Crowler waiting for them.
"Well Chumley, are you ready for your final lesson here at Duel Academy?" Dr. Crowler questioned.
Chumley grunted but gulped nodding taking his place.
"LET'S DUEL!"

"A simple start, but not a terrible one. As for me I'll begin with the spell Magnet Circle LV2. This spell lets me summon one level two or lower machine from my hand such as my Ancient Gear in attack mode."

Dr. Crowler then noticed Des Koala looked mean slashing the fist away before shattering.
"Des Koala's flip effect! For every card in your hand, Koala hits you for 400 points!" Chumley called as small jolts hit Dr. Crowler causing him to cry out, and grunt. (Dr. Crowler: 3200/Hand: 2)
"Nice one." Jaden grinned seeing that.
"Maybe, but he's still at a disadvantage... he needs to be careful." Kevin pointed out as Dr. Crowler frowned ending his turn.

Dr. Crowler drew his card seeing a second Ancient Gear Golem. 'That card is probably another of his koalas.' "It seems you still refuse to learn anything. Ancient Gear Golem attack his monster again!"
The Golem charged moving to punch. The card flipped showing it wasn't a Des Koala but more like a Hyena.

"What?" Dr. Crowler questioned.

"Maybe, but Hyena has a special ability that might be helpful." Kevin mentioned.
The Golem destroyed the Hyena easily while Chumley grunted from the extra damage.

"Let's just wait 1 minute okay? If you take out my Hyena, I get to summon two more Hyenas from my deck." Chumley said pulling out his deck, and place two cards where two Identical Hyenas popped up.

"Two monsters, not the worst move but you paid quite the heavy price to bring them out. I set one monster and end my turn." Dr. Crowler stated calmly.

"Sweet, that's one of Chumley's best cards." Jaden smiled.
"Yeah, but it's not strong enough to beat Dr. Crowler's Ancient Gear Golem." Alexis pointed out as she and Bastion were sitting with them.
"At least not now... but that chances cause of this!" Chumley reveals a spell, "Wild Nature's Release!"

"And all of sudden my Big Koala's defense points are added onto it's attack points!" Chumley told them.

"Hold on time-out!" Dr. Crowler cried in shock seeing that.
"I don't think so! Big Koala, take out that pile of rusty bolts!" Big Koala charged forward overs towards the Gear Golem, "Take Down From Down Under!"
Big Koala tackled Ancient Gear Golem destroying it as Dr. Crowler braced himself. (Dr. Crowler: 1500/Hand: 2)
Chumley grinned seeing he now has the advantage. "Alright! Now check out my face-down!"
Beast Soul Swap

Return to the owner's hand 1 face-up Beast-Type monster on your side of the field, then the owner of that card Special Summons 1 Beast-Type monster from their hand with the same Level as the monster you returned.
"This is my totally awesome, Beast Soul Swap, let's me bring back a monster to my hand! Then I can summon another beast with the same level it's switchalicious!" Chumley called returning Big Koala to his hand, "Guess I'll call... Another Big Koala!" Big Koala reappeared after being returned to his hand only without the boost.
"Uh, wait why exactly did he return it to his hand, and summon it again?" Syrus asked confused seeing this.
"Wild Nature's Release although powerful does have a devastating drawback." Kevin explained over to him, "Ordinarily, it destroys the monster it powers up at the end of the turn, however since Chumley returned it to his hand, and then summoned it again, that won't happen, and Big Koala can attack again."
"Very impressive, he turned the entire duel around in one move." Bastion noted.
"And now Big Koala take out that face-down!" Chumley called as Big Koala charged destroying the set monster as Dr. Crowler cried out, "Now that's an awesome sized super slam!" Dr. Crowler turned to him as he called, "For good measure, I'll use this my Blue Medicine! It allows me to recover 500 life points."

"This spell requires me to show you my Ancient Gear Golem in my hand, and then if I banish monsters in my graveyard who have twice my Golem's level I don't need a tribute to play it." Dr. Crowler smirked. "I banish all of my old Ancient Gears in order to call forth my Ancient Gear Golem!"
A second golem appeared behind him.
"Oh man, Chumley's in danger." Kevin said seeing this.
"Now then, Ancient Gear Golem destroy his Big Koala." Dr. Crowler smirked.
The Golem punched Big Koala destroying it as Chumley grunted. (Chumley: 0200/Hand: 1)
"I play a trap card!" Chumley called as a trap fliped.

Dr. Crowler frowned seeing that. "I play the spell Ancient Gear Drill, by discarding one card from my hand I can immediately set a spell from my deck however I'm not permitted to play it this turn."

At that Ayers Rock appeared behind him rising up.
"Hey, that's his painting." Jaden remembered. " It looks awesome."
"You can't stop the sun from rising, just like you can't stop my dream!" Chumley called to Dr. Crowler, "I WILL be a famous card designer! And now let's see one of my first card's in action! First it let's me summon 1 Beast from the graveyard! Care to guess who? The one, the only, Big Koala!"
At that Big Koala appeared again ready.

"And now turn your eyes to my graveyard, and you'll find for each Beast, Plant, or Winged-Beast Mr. Tall, Dark, and Rusty loses 200 attack points!" Chumley called as both Des Koala, and the three Hyenas appeared on Golem before vanishing taking some of it's strength as Dr. Crowler cried out in horror.

"Now how bout we try something fusilicious with Polymerization!" Chumley called as Big Koala, and Des Kangaroo fused.

Chumley stared at Master of Oz before saying, "Alright time to finally face the exam." He turned back declaring, "Alright Master of Oz attack Ancient Gear Golem! Outback Attack!" Master of Oz charged towards Ancient Gear Golem to land a devastating punch.
Dr. Crowler looked at the attack before glancing at his set card and closing his eyes. "I play my facedown card, Limiter Removal!"

Chumley having tears cried, "I lost!"
It was shown Ancient Gear Golem landed a good punch in the face to Master of Oz as it shattered as Golem vanished at the Duel's ending.
"Oh man, Chumley…" Syrus whispered.
Suddenly hearing clapping they turned to see the everyone were clapping giving praise to Chumley for his skills as the student said, "But... I've lost. I can't get my dream job!"
"Stop that crying!" Dr. Crowler snapped walking over as they looked over, "It's true you have lost this duel, but losing doesn't always mean failing. You see, the duel was not to win or lose but to prove your ability. For the talent you've displayed today, how could I ever fail you? I will recommend you for the position at Industrial Illusions."
"So I'm not kicked out?" Chumley asked in shock.
"Your graduating." Dr. Crowler answered with a soft smile offering Chumley a hand as he took it, "Farewell, and congratulations Chumley."
Chumley looked stunned before taking his hand. "Thank you so much."
"Well Chumley lost but all that mattered was him proving himself." Kevin smiled over, "I never doubted him for a second."
"He certainly proved himself." Bastion agreed. "I'm sure he'll do wonderfully at Industrial Illusions."
A few minutes later Chumley was on a plane to fly to Industrial Illusions headquarters. He watches out for Duel Academy as he wipes his eyes, "Everyone... I'll be back one day. That's a promise."
"We'll be waiting for you pal." Jaden smiled as everyone waved goodbye to him.

Ulrich362: Well... more or less, one card was an issue but we adapted something that worked just as well.
bopdog111: And next up is the last show for the first year.
Ulrich362: True, the final duel of the year… the graduation match.
bopdog111: Who will be Zane, and Kevin's opponents?
Ulrich362: I have my suspicions about who they'll pick, but we'll have to wait and see what those duels will end up being. See you in the next chapter.
