Kagome couldn't help keeping close watch of her surroundings; the whole place felt extravagant, and futurist, albeit not in the way she would have liked to imagine the future. Kagome felt more inclined towards nature, where the earth, forests, brackens… could spread through every centimeter of ground available. She adored the idea of the mycelium doing its own thing, amidst the silence and away from the people's individualism up on the surface. Even so, the place she was in presented an absolute contrast to her ideals; non-sense to her beliefs.

After receiving that strange link in her phone, she spent days looking at the message, not daring to cross that line, yet her innate curiosity won in the end. Many thought such an aspect of her was due to her moon being in Sagittarius; something Kagome agreed with, more or less.

The place reminded her of an old movie, from back when the special effects were still in their experimental phase. The ads on the buildings were in three dimensions, and the sound coming from them wasn't metallized like it was usual in such announcements, limited by the capacity a second-hand screen has. However, there, everything seemed to be part of one single huge screen from where the ad was being played right by her, and seemed capable of interacting with others. Kagome even came to believe her own thoughts were emanating some sort of energy the devices around her could read, which was why they could talk to her with such ease:

You want to travel to Tierra del Fuego. It wasn't a question, but a fact that came with a list of flight fares. Many times, she had wondered how would a place with such a name be.

And then, there was the most feared yet yearned for question:

You want to find your soulmate. When the woman, man, non-binary by her side pointed it out, Kagome considered the apparition, and questioned what did such a diversity serve, if most of the beings she knew about in the world, and from this one, it seemed, only looked to see themselves in someone else.

It was then when she saw him, InuYasha. He stood a few meters away, in the middle of a crowd of people Kagome did not know if they were real, or just part of that whole, constant scene around her. Even so, her heart began to pound frenetically as she watched him getting closer, having a hard time conciliating the image of a person she used to watch through a screen, to a real one in that world of fiction she had entered thanks to a virtual reality headset.

Hi, Kagome. Were his words, in the moment his fingers grazed her own.

Yes, I know how strange this story is, and I like it that way. Let's see where it takes us.
