So, I was in the middle of writing this chapter when the news of Jason David Frank's death came out. No one else could have played Tommy Oliver as well as he did, through as many series as he did. He was in Mighty Morphin as the Green and White Rangers, Zeo and Turbo as the Red Ranger, there was a cameo in Wild Force, he returned as the Black Ranger in Dino Thunder, and then there were several more cameo spots through-out the years. I was born during the Mighty Morphin run, so I got to watch that series through re-runs on TV, and while I always stated my favorite characters as Adam and Hunter, Tommy always held a special place in my heart.

Rest in Peace, Jason David Frank; may the Power protect you, always.

Thank you so much to jimmyle505, xLiteratureLoverx, Nycnewsgirl, FallenArcana, Guest, and Time-Space lord Eon for your lovely comments!

It was pointed out to me that I've been stating the Power Coins in the individual colors, both in this story and Power of Winter. Honestly, I forgot they were gold. I genuinely thought they were the individual colors. There's a theory that the Rangers always wear clothing in their colors because the Morphin Grid compels them to, as they'll grow weak if they don't wear something in their color. The coins being the individual colors makes sense to me with that theory, and it's one I tend to believe. For both this story and Power of Winter, if the Rangers don't wear something in their color, they will become weak, so the coins being the colors kind of helps them out a little to make sure that they at least have something in their color.

"And then he walked me home and kissed me again on the front porch," Jamie said, finishing her explanation of the previous night.

"So, are you guys together, now?" Kim asked, a shirt in each hand.

"I don't know," Jamie responded. She sat cross-legged on her bed, watching as Kimberly went through her closet and ran her comb through her damp hair. She'd called the Pink Ranger as soon as she'd gotten into her bedroom the previous night. She'd come over this morning at Jamie's request to help her pick out an outfit. "He kissed me, said good night, and then waited for me to get inside before he left."

"Still, that's two kisses, that's a good start. Here, this one is perfect."

Kimberly lay her final choice onto Jamie's bed next to her- a gray, sleeveless shirt with silver thread adding some sparkle to the top, and a pair of jeans.

"Thanks," Jamie quickly grabbed them and ran out to the hall, ducking into the bathroom in order to change. She only took a minute, and then returned, dirty clothes were tossed into her hamper, and she put her comb down onto her vanity. "Okay, just need to figure out hair. Think down and curly is okay?"

Even though her hair was wet from an earlier shower, individual curls were already separating out.

"It's perfect, Jay, you know I love your curls," Kim said.

"Okay," Jamie nodded, and then brought all of her hair to one side to scrunch it up and help define the curls a little better. She did the same on the other side, and then turned to Kim.

"What do you think? Is it too much?"

"Adam won't know what hit him," Kimberly said with an encouraging smile.

"Thanks, Kim," Jamie said, smiling gratefully at her best friend. "I don't know why I'm so nervous, I mean, we're friends, right?"

"You're nervous because the guy you have a crush on kissed you, which proves that he likes you too. But he's gonna see you, and his jaw is gonna drop, and he's gonna ask you to be his girlfriend, and everything will be right with the world!" Kimberly stood up from her seat and walked over, putting her hands on Jamie's shoulders. "You got this, Jamie, alright?"

"I got this," Jamie repeated. "I got this!"

"That's right, you got this!" Kimberly encouraged. "Now come on, let's get to school so Adam can see how awesome you look!"

Jamie took a deep breath. "I just hope it wasn't a spur the moment thing, you know? We had just destroyed Ivan Ooze, Zordon was brought back to life, there were fireworks, it was an emotional evening!" She began to pace, hands landing on her hips. "What if I get there and he says, 'oh, sorry, Jamie, the emotions of everything got to me! I didn't mean to kiss you!' That would be devastating!"

"He won't!" Kimberly shot up from her seat and strode forward, grasping onto Jamie's shoulders in order to make her stop. "Jamie, Adam likes you so much, everyone can see it! And if he ends up doing anything that hurts you, then I'll kick his ass, myself!"

Jamie couldn't help it- a chuckle escaped her. She smiled at Kimberly, again, eyes filled with mirth. "Thank you," she said.

"Come on," Kimberly said, scooping up Jamie's backpack from the foot of her bed. "You have got this, Jamie Reece!"

Jamie allowed a weak smile to pull her lips up, and then took another deep breath. "Aiden, come on! We're gonna be late!"

"Coming!" Aiden called from down the hall, and the two girls shared a look. They went downstairs to wait, and Aiden joined them a minute later, hair in complete disarray. "Okay, I'm here, let's go!"

"Aiden, you wild child," Kimberly laughed, quickly licking both palms to wet them and pushing Aiden's hair down.

"Kim!" Aiden complained, but he stood still and let her do it; she was practically another older sister to him, crush he'd had in middle school notwithstanding. "Do you think Carly Peterson will say yes if I ask her out?"

"Now that I've fixed your hair, she will," Kimberly answered. "Come on, let's go!"

Kimberly drove the Reece siblings to school, and then made them both stand in front of her before going into the school.

"Okay, Aiden…" Kimberly smoothed down his hair, again, and straightened out his shirt.

"What's going on, here?" Tommy asked, coming up on his girlfriend fixing the younger boy's clothes.

"I'm perfecting him so he can ask out a girl," Kimberly said. She made one more adjustment, and then stood back to look at him.

"Tommy, please help me," Aiden pleaded.

"You're on your own, kid," Tommy said with a laugh.

"Oh, hush," Kimberly said. "Aiden, you're good. Carly will say yes, and you'll have yourself a date."

"Thanks, Kim, bye!" with that, the younger boy took off into the school. Kimberly turned to Jamie, next.

"Alright, Jay, I'm just gonna do this…" she adjusted Jamie's shirt a little, and then messed with her hair just a little. She was careful to keep the curls intact and not fluff them up, just positioning them. "Perfect! Tommy, what do you think?"

"Looks good," Tommy said, draping his arm around his girlfriend's shoulders as she backed up. "What's the occasion?"

"Adam kissed her last night," Kimberly said. "So she needs to be looking absolutely gorgeous right now so that he doesn't have second thoughts."

"Adam's liked you since he first saw you," Tommy told Jamie. "You could probably wear a trash bag and he'd still think you were the most beautiful girl on the planet."

Jamie raised her eyebrow at this and looked at Kimberly, "Kim, where've you been hiding this boy?"

Kimberly laughed, "Go, Jamie, you'll knock Adam out of the park!"

"I hope," Jamie said. Grabbing her backpack out of the car, she took a deep breath, and headed into the school.

She stopped at her locker, first, figuring she could meet Adam at his to talk. It was closer to their first class, anyways, and he almost always got to the school before she did. But when she looked into the little mirror on her locker door once last time to check her reflection, she heard him come up to her.

"Hey, Jamie," his warm voice came up from behind her.

"Adam, hey," Jamie turned quickly to face him. He wore a black t-shirt and jeans, his own short curls still slightly damp.

"You look beautiful," Adam said after a moment of silence, although he kept his eyes locked on hers.

"Thanks," Jamie blushed and resisted the urge to bring a hand up to play with a strand of her hair. "How are you?"

Real smooth, Jamie, she thought to herself.

"I'm great!" Adam said, "Better, now, that I'm talking to you." Once again, her cheeks burned red as a shy smile pulled her lips up. "After school, do you wanna go to the Youth Center? Just the two of us?"

"Yeah," Jamie nodded, "I would love to."

Adam smiled widely. Apparently, he was braver than Jamie was this morning, for he moved forward to leave a quick kiss on Jamie's cheek. She burned red, again.

Once she was done at her locker, Adam took Jamie's hand, interlacing their fingers together, and they walked down the hall, hand-in-hand to his. And then, he walked her to class, where the rest of their team got to watch them go to their seats together. Adam always sat behind Jamie in the classes they had together, which, to be fair, was most of them. There was only about 100 students in their class, so there was a lot of overlap.

Upon sitting down and facing the front of the class, Jamie just barely caught Kim's wide grin from the desk next to hers. Jamie just blushed, but with a huge smile.

By the end of the day, the news that Adam Park and Jamie Reece were finally done dancing around each other had spread. Even Aiden had come up to Adam at lunch to 'threaten' him. What the boy had failed to take into account was the fact that Adam was older, bigger, and stronger. And completely in love with Jamie Reece.

Once again, Adam met Jamie at her locker, slinging an arm around her shoulders as she finished swapping textbooks she didn't need for homework for ones she did.

"Hey, Jamie, Adam!"

"Hi, Kim," Jamie said, grinning up at Kimberly as she came up on the two along with Tommy, Billy, Rocky, and Aisha.

"You two seem to be the talk of the school," Aisha said with a grin.

"Really?" Jamie asked, flabbergasted.

"I'm pretty sure I saw money exchange hands a few times as news spread," Kimberly said. She, too, was grinning.

"Oh, God," Jamie brought both hands up to cover her face. Adam quickly grabbed the one closest to him, lacing their fingers together in a silent encouragement. She shot him a quick, grateful look.

"Apparently a lot of people were invested in your love life," Billy said with his own amused grin. "We're going to the park. You two want to come with us?"

"I'm taking Jamie on a date," Adam said, a shy grin spreading his lips as he looked away from their friends to look down at Jamie.

"And the cuteness just keeps on coming!" Kimberly exclaimed.

Jamie blushed again, but she had a smile on her face.

The date at the Youth Center went well. As nervous as Jamie had felt all day about it, she really hadn't needed to be. Adam bought her a milkshake- as Rangers, their metabolisms were through the roof, and they needed all the calories as they could get and Jamie loved milkshakes- and they found a table to sit at.

Mostly, they did homework. Jamie was still hopeless at math, but Adam was pretty good at it, and he happily helped her with it. She, in return, helped him with English. Essays just weren't his strong suit.

But when that was done, they just sat and talked. Conversation flowed easily through them. While they had their differences, they also had a lot in common; they both loved superhero movies, as it turned out, which turned into a debate on which was better, DC or Marvel. They both came to the agreement that Marvel had the better movies and heroes, but DC had the better TV series and villains.

Jamie thought that chocolate milkshakes were the best, and Adam was a fan of strawberry. Jamie thought shows like 911 and Station 19 were amazing, and Adam preferred The Walking Dead.

But even with those minor differences, the two worked well together. And just as Adam was gearing up to ask the all important question- the 'will you be my girlfriend' question- of course, six little beeps stopped him right in his tracks.

"This is Adam and Jamie," Adam answered, the two crowding close so anyone walking by would just think they were talking with each other and not to Adam's wrist.

"Rangers," Zordon's voice came through. "Zedd and RIta have sent Rator down to the park. The others are already fighting him, but they need help. You must hurry!"

"On our way, Zordon!" Jamie answered, and the two quickly packed up their stuff and ran off to find an isolated spot in the parking lot.

"You ready?" Adam asked. When Jamie nodded, he widened his stance. "It's Morphin' Time! Mastodon!"

"Megalagon!"

A flash of light, a surge of power, and the two were morphed and teleporting to the park. They joined the others, where they fighting the monster of the day.

"Ah, two more Power Punks!"

Their adversary came in the form of a giant rat, wearing armor and wielding a long staff.

"What the hell is that?!" Jamie exclaimed, taking a surprised step back.

"I'm Rator! And I'm your worst nightmare!"

"Keep dreaming, rat-face!" Tommy exclaimed, ducking when Rator swung his staff at the White Ranger.

"Maybe a few of my buddies will be able to slow you down! Attack, Putties!"

As a small army of Putties appeared, tipping the scales away from the Rangers.

"Spread out, guys!" Rocky shouted.

The others did as Rocky said, and Jamie found herself facing off against 6 Putties.

"Alright, who wants to go first?" Jamie asked, bending her knees to go into a more defensive position.

Two Putties charged her, and Jamie swiftly dodged one and then struck out with her leg, tripping the other. A third Puttie came at her, and Jamie punched it, easily getting the Z and making it shatter.

"One down, five to go," Jamie muttered, quickly kicking another Puttie as it tried to sneak up on her side. "Make that four."

Another Puttie successfully snuck up on her and grabbed her shoulders. Jamie, thinking quickly, grabbed one of the Puttie's wrists and flipped it over her head. A swift punch into its' chest shattered it.

"Jamie, give me a hand?"

Jamie swiftly looked up and found Kimberly surrounded by her own group of Putties. There was four, and they had fully surrounded the Pink Ranger, one of them reaching forward to grab her around the middle.

"Kim, head's up!" Jamie called, scooping up a handful of wet mud from the ground. It had rained sometime overnight the night before, and the ground was still mildly muddy.

Seeing what she was about to do, Kimberly ducked, and Jamie threw the mud. It landed in splats on the Putties' faces, blinding them and allowing Kimberly to quickly finish them.

"Thank you!" Kimberly called back.

"Not a problem!" Jamie called back. Scooping up another handful of mud, Jamie managed to blind her own remaining Putties, finishing them in the same way.

"Why must you always mess up our plans?!" Rator exclaimed in anger as the Rangers met up in front of him.

"Because they suck?" AIsha asked, tipping her head to the side.

Angered by this, Rator growled, held his staff high above his head, and charged. The Rangers scattered as he approached, and Tommy quickly caught the swinging staff with Saba.

"Power Katana!" Jamie exclaimed, at the same time as Rocky called for the Power Sword.

With three Rangers with swords now coming at him, to his credit, Rator didn't even flinch. Instead, he raised his staff again with a battle cry.

"Man, this guy doesn't quit!" Rocky exclaimed, breathing heavily as Rator threw him off.

"There has to be a weakness in his armor, somewhere," Billy said.

"Think there's a spot, like a sleeve, where a blade could get under it?" Kimberly asked, putting her hands on her waist as she watched Rocky, Jamie, and Tommy fight him. She had her Power Bow in her hands, but she didn't shoot, afraid of possibly hitting one of her friends.

"Looks like chainmail," Adam said. "Right up on his skin. Jamie's katana could maybe slide under it, but that's assuming he stands still long enough for her to be able to do it."

"Guys, I don't know how much longer we can do this!" Rocky exclaimed, arms shaking as he held of Rator's staff with his sword.

Jamie tried to sneak up on Rator, but he must have sensed her coming, for Rator turned quickly, sending his staff directly into her, and sending Jamie flying.

The Silver Ranger landed at her friends' feet with a grunt, and she rolled over onto her stomach with a groan.

"Ow."

"Are you okay?!" Adam exclaimed, crouching down to help her up.

"I'm good," Jamie answered, taking his hand so he could pull her up.

"We need help," Aisha said, wringing her hands together.

"Rangers, I am bringing you back to the Command Center," Zordon's voice came through their communicators.

"Right, Zordon," Tommy said, agreeing with their mentor to pull out. They were losing, and they needed help.

They were quickly swept up in a wave of teleportation, and when the colors faded away from their eyes, they were no longer in the park, but instead in the Command Center.

"Rangers!" Zordon exclaimed, big head floating in his tube.

"Zordon, Rator is a much more formidable foe than we thought," Billy said, taking off his helmet quickly. The rest of the Rangers followed his lead.

"Yes, he is much stronger than previously assumed," Zordon agreed. "The only way to defeat him, will be with a much stronger weapon than the Power Cannon."

"But we don't have that," Jamie said, worry tinging her voice.

"Alpha, bring out the Power Surge," Zordon instructed, and the little domed robot hurried off.

"Right away, Zordon!" Alpha disappeared around a corner, and then he reappeared with a palm-sized device in his hand. The front of it was covered in buttons, there was an antenna sticking out of the top, and a couple wires out of the back.

"Rangers, this is the Power Surge," Zordon explained as Alpha handed the device over to Billy. "Attach it to the Power Cannon, and it should give you enough power to destroy Rator."

"The wires sticking out of the back of it need to be connected to the Power Cannon, and it'll give the Canon more power, but only enough for one attack. Ay-yi-yi," Alpha added on.

"We'll get it done," Tommy said. "Let's get Back to Action!"

Morphed back up, the Rangers transported back to the park.

"Oh, look who came crawling back!" Rator exclaimed. He'd caused some damage to the park while they were gone, but lucky any civilians had vacated as soon as Rator had appeared.

"Your hours are numbered, ratface!" Tommy exclaimed.

"Put 'em together, guys!" Rocky called, and he, Adam, Aisha, Billy, Jamie, and Kimberly quickly put their weapons together to create their Power Cannon. Gripping the Power Surge, Billy quickly but carefully attached it.

"We only get one shot at this guys, so let's get this done," Aisha said, hefting her section of the Power Cannon onto her shoulder.

"Ready?" Rocky called, quickly aiming their weapon at Rator. "Aim! Fire!"

Rocky pulled the trigger, sending a much more powerful blast than any of them had ever seen right at the monster.

"You'll pay for this!" Rator exclaimed, right before the blast hit him.

"Woo!"

"Yeah!"

"Bye-bye, ratface!"

The Rangers celebrated, but as per usual, the monster was soon growing to a much larger size.

"We need Thunderzord Power, now!" Rocky exclaimed, raising his hand to the air as he looked at the enlarged monster.

With shouts of their Zords, they formed the Thunderzord Megazord and Tommy's TigerZord in Warrior Mode.

"I bet you can't do that again," Rator laughed, swinging his staff around skillfully with one hand.

"Watch us!" Tommy exclaimed. As the two Megazords fought with the monster, it seemed pretty quickly that they had the same issue as before; while their weapons could go head-to-head with the creature, they couldn't quite seem to over-power it.

"Any chance we still have that Power Surge?" Jamie asked, hand braised against the console as the Megazaord was shoved back.

"I have it," Billy said, holding it up. "But the Power Cannon used up all of its' power."

"Any chance it has anything left?" Rocky asked, desperation in his voice.

"Maybe," Billy answered. "I'll plug it in and see if it'll help." Standing, Billy hurried over to Rocky's console in the middle and plugged the Power Surge in. Going back to his own console, Billy pressed a few buttons and then grinned under his helmet. "Looks like it still had a little bit of power left. Try the Mega Sword, with any luck, it has enough power in it now to take Rator out."

"Awesome, thanks Billy!" Rocky exclaimed, "Alright, guys, we got another shot at this! LEt's put everything we got into the Mega Sword and get this done!"

"Right!" the others chorused.

Getting into position, the Rangers called on the Mega Sword and channeled all of their power into the sword.

"Your regular-sized sword didn't even scratch me!" Rator exclaimed, twirling his staff around. "What makes you think the big one's gonna do any damage?!"

"Because now we have more power!" Rocky exclaimed. "Let's do this, guys!"

The Megazord quickly got into position. Raising their sword, the Rangers funneled all of their power into it, and swung down. It made contact with Rator's head, and finally, for good, destroyed the giant rat.

With the monster of the day finally destroyed, the Rangers returned to their previous spots. That is, Kimberly, Tommy, Rocky, Aisha, and Billy to the park, and Adam and Jamie to the Youth Center.

"Well, that was interesting," Jamie said as Adam held open the door for her.

"Definitely," Adam agreed. Following in after her, he reached over and grabbed her hand, interlacing their fingers as he led her to their previous table. "Never thought I'd fight a giant rat."

"I'm suddenly really glad Zedd's never made a giant spider creature, I… hate. Spiders." Jamie shuddered. Adam laughed.

"If he ever does, I'll keep it away from you," Adam promised. He dropped her hand only so he could pull out her chair.

"Thanks," Jamie said as she sat down. "And yes, you are now officially delegated to spider-killing duty whenever we're together, now."

Adam laughed. "I'll just relocate them, they're important to nature."

Jamie laughed, too. "I got bit by one a couple of years ago, was just a minor bite, but I found out I'm allergic to the medication they give for minor spider bites, and then I ended up minorly allergic to the medicine they gave me to combat the effects of the first medicine."

"Hey, at least you know what medications you're allergic to, now! SIlver linings!" Adam grinned at her.

Jamie chuckled again, a smile pulling her lips up.

"You have a really beautiful smile," Adam said, staring straight at her. Jamie blushed bright red.

"Thank you," she said quietly.

"I really like you, Jamie," Adam said. He reached across the table and gently grabbed her hand. "I like you a lot."

"I like you a lot, too," Jamie responded. She turned her hand in his grip so their fingers interlaced again.

"Do you think you would maybe want to be my girlfriend?" Adam sounded nervous as he asked, but he met Jamie's gaze, chocolate into whiskey.

"I would love that," Jamie sounded equally as nervous, but she didn't look away from him. Adam grinned at her affirmative, and brought their clasped hands up to his mouth so he could kiss hers. Her cheeks reddened at the feeling of his lips against the back of her hand, but she grinned. He grinned right back.
