Hi there everyone, I hope the year has improving for everybody since my last post. I often joke about needing to post something before the next apocalypses and never expected there to actually be one or a mini one. Don't know what you'd call 2020 but I was honestly hoping for an alien apocalypses. At least in that case my organs could do some good. Maybe I could find an alien boyfriend along the way? A girl can dream. I hope those of you both alive and with unharvested organs from aliens all enjoy this.

Kyoko kirigiri walked casually but with purpose as she approached the elementary school library. She wasn't usually one to mess in minor affairs like this. The little girl's comments could of just been from something crude she'd seen on TV and her parents not monitoring what she picked up.
A few fellow detectives have told her of similar things. Once a mother in law of a couple wanted the husband investigated for child abuse. Her grandchild had bruises every time they visited. Turns out the husband had been taking the kid to boxing lessons on weekends. People liked jumping to the worst conclusions all the time but it would still be careless to not look closer just in case. The young detective wasn't sure what she'd discover from this but she'd hold all theories until she had more info.
The first thing Kyoko noticed when she entered the library was that there weren't many kids here. There was a few kids studying and one alone on a school computer seeming to stare pensively at his screen. He was the only boy with light blue hair and pale skin like the Nagisa that kotoko described. A part of her wanted to just watch and observe. Then it hit her that being a high schooler staring at a child for seemingly no reason would make her look creepy. Instead she opted to ask the librarian at the nearest desk if she knew where he was as part of her project from hope's peak high. The librarian confirmed the boy at the computer to be the nagisa she was looking for.
Looking over his shoulder he was staring at a graph consisting of a few faces with one looking similar to himself. He must of felt her presence looming over him. Without turning around he waved her off with his hand. "I don't care if the ultimate gamer invited you to a game of space checkers I'm still busy Nato. Go find another computer already." the boy said.
"I see your busy but there's no need to be rude about it." Kyoko replied
"Really? Cause I think if your eyes worked you would-!" Whatever rude comeback he had stopped along with his typing. It seemed to dawn on him that someone other then a kid was talking to him.
"O-oh hello um, random adult I haven't met before. Sorry for being snappy I don't usually yell I promise. Is there anything I can help you with?" Nagisa's tone turned to forced politeness upon who he assumed was authority.
"No need to worry Nagisa, I'm not an adult and you aren't in trouble. Like I said I can see your busy but I'm a friend of kotoko and would like a word with you. I can help or at least give you advice to make up interrupting whatever research assignment your doing."
The two of them then went up to the library's second floor to speak without any ease droppers.
"Is kotoko in trouble for something? I hope your checking thoroughly before you accuse her of anything." was the child's first question.
"What makes you think she's in trouble?"
"The only times adults or older kids want to talk to someone my age is to get us to confirm something wrong or make up something bad." Nagisa said in a matter of fact tone. That definitely told Kyoko he's been in trouble either by claims that were or weren't true in the past but not that he actively did bad things. He seemed very on guard for both himself and Kotoko apparently. It was possibly safe to rule him out on that note but still check.
"Well I don't know if it helps but I'm from Hope's peak academy and I'm the ultimate detective there. Being thorough and not just taking anyone's word as absolute at face value off bat is what detectives do. I have my ID right here if you want to check. I think I can be honest with you so I'll let you know the reason I'm here. Apparently someone at your school has been telling your friend Kotoko some rather questionable things. Do you know anything about that?" Kyoko asked.
Nagisa looked at the ID Kyoko was holding before looking back at Kyoko. Telling him her title seemed to calm him down slightly but he didn't answer right away. He seemed to be internally debating what to say for a few moments before speaking.
"I appreciate the honesty but I don't understand why your asking me exactly. Am I a suspect?"
"Just talking to you so far I'm not sure though I can tell you care for your friend. I've got a lot of things I have to consider and other people I'll have to look into before I come to any conclusions."
Nagisa raised an eyebrow at this.
"Aren't detectives suppose to reach conclusions quicker after the first interview with people?" Kyoko shakes her head at the question while suppressing a bemused smile in case he takes it as mocking him.
"That's detectives on TV and other media. Lying is human nature no matter what age and things are never as black and white as they might appear. You being a kid doesn't matter when you could be lying just the same as an adult who doesn't want to get in trouble. I've heard of and even had to take care of murder cases that involved kids harming other kids who they claimed to be friends with out of jealousy, anger, or just cruel amusement. That's why its dangerous for me to not question you the same way I'd do an adult sitting here who could do the same."
Nagisa responded slightly faster then before though the uncertainty in his voice was still there along with a bit of anger.
"What?! I've never heard of kids killing other kids...though I am limited in what I know. They restrict my access to some things on my home laptop. Me and my friends might rough house and tease sometimes but we'd never cross a line like that. Not over the problems that brought us together as friends in the first place."
"And can I ask what these problems are? If your too uncomfortable to tell me anything you think would breach the trust of your friends that's fine. Even telling me a little at least could help a lot if its related to Kotoko." She said
"Well it would feel wrong telling somebody else's business that isn't mine to tell..." He nervously started playing with his hands while speaking. "I..I honestly don't know how much I can say without it possibly getting her in trouble. She did actually mention to use some of what us happened while she was with big sis Sayaka yesterday. She's said similar things around us before but none of us ever influenced it. All we know is the adults in her life might talk that way and other stuff she's never fully told us cause she said it was gross. That's all I know. Is that okay? I don't want to say more in case..." Nagisa trailed off looking to uncomfortable to continue.
Kyoko nodded in understanding. "Yes, you've said plenty. All this will be confidential and no one wants your friend to get hurt. Thank you for your time. Is there any questions you have for me now?"
Sighing but seeming more relaxed, the boy nodded. "I hope to hold you to that. Also if it isn't an inconvenience there's some information I'm trying to look into for a project. Do you have a pin to write this down?"

Meanwhile with Sakura
Sakura felt almost nostalgic looking at the jungle gym. Using it for training was always her favorite though she was far to big for it anymore.
"NINJA SHADOW STYLE AMBUUUUSH!" A young male voice called from her right side. They were decently fast for their age but not by much. Them announcing the jump gave her time to side step as well.
The little red headed boy went toes first against the bars but recovered fast. With a noticeable sprained hop to their step they looked at her annoyed at first but then surprised.
"Coach Nidai! You weren't suppose to dodge m-! Wait, your not coach Nidai. Who are you and why are you in girl clothes?" He asked
"Its rude to just ambush people like that you know. I'm a friend of Nidai and looking for someone who's suppose to be the ultimate P.E. here and friend of Kotoko. Do you know them?"
"Oooh, am I famous already because Nidai's my coach? That's so awesome and-ouch!" The boy started to talk before wincing. Noting that he need some ice she chatted with Nidai about her visit and stayed near the boy now known as Masaru Diamond while he rested his foot.
"I didn't introduce myself properly and for that I apologize. My name is Sakura Oogami. I'm the ultimate mixed martial artist at hope's peak academy."
"Sakura? Isn't that a girls name? Also you still haven't told me why your wearing a girls uniform."
This comment just made Sakura sigh slightly but she was honestly not offended. He wasn't the first nor would he be the last to misgender her. It was far from the reason she was here but it was best to get it out the way so it wouldn't be a distraction.
The plus side of it though was with how often it happened she had learned how to help enlighten people. People who were just being malicious for malicious sake weren't worth the time but Masaru was just a child. Some people overly sheltered their kids from things in ways they think will help them but whine up hurting them in life. Sakura was probably the first girl with muscles the kid ever seen.
Thus she opened her phone gallery and showed him pictures of her as a kid as young as masaru in matches with other girls. Some shots of her with past friends in the Oogami dojo with training alongside others children and teens. She looked more feminine and slim a bit like hina from 12 to 14 but noticeably bulker at 15 to her current age 17.
"You can find some videos and articles on the Oogami matches if you still don't believe me but yes I am a girl just like your friend Kotoko. Girls come in all shapes and sizes not just small, frail, and petite. While I don't read much manga I'm surprised a kid like you hasn't at least seen girls fighting in them."
This new information seem to leave Masaru confused but he couldn't think of any reason someone would lie about their gender. Nidai definitely knew them too so he could assume they weren't a creep. He may not of know everything about adults but he knew what a creep was. Even though he only knew of Nidai for a few days he seemed like weirdly cool as far about to be adults go. He only yelled when he was excited about something. Never once insulted them or mocked them for not doing something right on the first try. They got something called "extra credit" from their school. Nagisa explained it didn't mean money so no volunteer teens doing this were being paid to be nice.
Dad always talked up tough love and getting paid well being important to everything in life.
There were probably better big words Masaru didn't know for it but that stuff felt boring and uninteresting to him for the most part. Meanwhile the new coached didn't come off as caring for either of those things. Big brother Mondo was definitely no coach but fun and kind all the same. Masaru wasn't as smart as his friends but he felt like he was good at telling fake nice people. Coach and big bro weren't fake and must be good calls at making equally non fake nice people too. Even if so much muscle was still odd to look at on a girl, she might still be a little trustable.
"Your still weird looking for a girl but okay. What's this thing about Kotoko you said you wanted to ask by the way?"
"Well, do any of your friends ever talk or tease one another about dating?"
"Dating? I mean when I've been thinking about picking at least one sport to get good at with my talent and get famous. I hear famous people get to date a lot so I know I will then. Nagisa is kinda a bossy dork so I don't know if there is any hope for him. Jataro and Kotoko I'm not really sure if they'd date since they ramble a lot. They might annoy people away but I don't know. I've teased each of them about these things before but just in a normal way, nothing to make them cry." Masaru said with a shrug.
Sakura nodded at this before thinking about how to ask her next question.
"Do you think or care about if they dated someone the same gender? When they get much older of course."
"I'll probably tease them for being with a bunch of dorks but other then that I don't know why I'd care. What's with all the dating questions anyway? I'm training to be a future athlete not a dating gooruba. Wait is it called gooruba or guruchi? Whatever the people are called who teach other people about what dating is. Also to answer what ya said earlier my dad says shows that show girls as the main characters are for girls only and if they fight then their a bunch of boogies. At least I think he said boogies. Can't remember but point being he said it was bad for me to look at stuff like that so I didn't know it was common."
"A dating guru I think is the word your looking for in the first word at least. I think I know the second word he said and it sounds like he's rather sexist. You don't seem to hold at least all the same beliefs as your father which is good. While it is true not many girls are as strong as boys and some like traditionally girly things, there are some like me who are strong. A girl can be strong while liking girly things, boyish things, or even both. Same goes for boys as well. Its closed minded to think just one way about a gender like that."
Masaru looked at her confused and seemed mildly upset at her comment at his dad or at least that's what she assumed it was. He said nothing so she continued.
"What does sexist mean?" Masaru asked.
"Well you know what a stereotype is right? "Sakura asked.
Masaru nodded.
"Well a sexist is someone who only believes in that ones gender is limited in what matters most when it comes to doing, liking, or thinking in a certain way. All girls only should only wear skirts or all boys at some point should only be into certain non-fruity drinks cause something is "wrong" with them otherwise. One of the reasons I'm here is because of a rather vulgar stereotype around girls who date that Kotoko repeated. Think of it this way. Can you picture coach Nidai walking onto the school in a pink sundress with matching glittery sneakers but otherwise the same?"
This got a few snickers out of him but Masaru didn't interrupt as he looked at her expectantly to continue so she kept going.
"Alright, well as silly as he'd probably look do you think he'd suddenly not be able to lift weights, run track, or coach just cause he looks slightly more feminine?"
"Eh, well I guess not but I plan to be a hero among athletes and boy heroes don't dress up in girl clothes. Dad said so. Kotoko does like rambling about cute girl clothes and the girls in them sometimes but I've never said anything mean about it. I'm also not into the smell of beer so I kinda get that being dumb. I'm not defective for that at least."
This comment made the girl raise an eyebrow in concern but she didn't remark on that part. Might be something to talk to Nidai on later though. Instead she decided to address the first part.
Sakura then googled the infamous story of thor having to cross-dress on a video to show him.
"WHAT?!My dads never been wrong about these things...though those other videos of your dojo proved him wrong to." Masaru was having many revelations today it seemed.
"While I'd normally never tell someone to disrespect their parents, I've got to ask why you treat your dads words so highly. Did he ever do something that makes you praise and believe everything he says without question? I know I'm still a stranger so if this is to intrusive you don't have to answer." Sakura let him know.
"Well, he was the star of his high school team that played in some of the biggest matches against pro adults in the Japan bowl. Ever heard of the Fujitsu Frontiers from Kobe Itsu high? He was part of that team and he even showed me pictures of them." Masaru said this with enthusiasm.
"Hmm, while I don't play I do watch football from time to time so I've heard of them. Actually I think Nidai might of coached a kid of one those athletes. I don't mean to overstep as a stranger but from what little I've learned of you it seems you've been raised by someone who isn't completely honest. Does he give you reason for these views besides "cause I'm the adult and say so" or are you sure what he said about his past is true to?" She wanted to know.
"I thought because I say so wasn't suppose to be questioned but I don't know. Think I should ask coach Nidai if that guy can tell me more about dad?"
Sakura nodded her head.
"Its your decision. You've helped me with what I needed a bit so I feel I should return the favor. Do you want sparring tips or an opinion on one of those mangas I mentioned earlier?" She suggested.
Masaru crossed his arms and looked at his still sore foot in contemplation for a few seconds before looking back up at the older ultimate with a grin.
"Can we do both if you can tell me how to hide the manga at school or at my house?"
Sakura grinned back. "I'll see what I can do."

Holy crap I haven't updated this since 2021 and never noticed. Sorry about that. Decided to just roll Sakura and Kyoko's part into the same chapter at the end there to.
