Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the thief and the girl who walked on fire. Enjoy the 4500-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum, and Rooster Teeth do.
Cye was not an idiot. He knew Cinder was silent for more than just what happened at the base and it was clear more and more that whatever had been done before then inside the kingdom was something horrific….
Yet? Cye did not pry as he was supposed to be as of now… Not purely because he wished to, there were a lot more problems that needed to be addressed. Hers would come later and come at a time of her choosing sooner or later hopefully.
"How long will it be until we reach Mistral?" Cinder asked before she looked around the small car-sized cabin while she sighed to herself.
It was clear more and more what would become of certain issues if they were left to their devices. Yet again? More problems seemed to get over for now.
"8 hours according to the computer," Cye said before sighing to himself as he did so. "Cin? You going to be, ok? There are a few hours until we get back there." Cye stated as he shook his head.
She fell silent for a moment as if trying and failing to think of what to tell him. The barriers around her heart existed for good reason that she recalled existing for… Perhaps it was for the best they existed.
Cinder knew she couldn't be let down or disappointed if she never expected anything from anyone or anything. It was not the best way to live life and yet it was to be for the best considering how often she had been let down.
Still? it was something more and more problems as of the time being, he clicked his fingers against the wall, interesting and interested in problems for now.
Cinder was such an odd woman that Cye would become scared of what she'd do without him. All of it seemed to be bothering him and it was something Cye knew he'd need to acknowledge sooner or later.
"Are you entirely ok or are we going to have problems? You can trust me, Cin. I'm not going anywhere as I said and all the little problems from this become worse and worse." Cye said before he hummed.
"I don't want us to try and be enemies, you know… I don't want you to be terrified to be around me like you think." Cye stated before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
Cinder looked at Cye, her golden eyes brimming with tears as they seemed to become worse and worse, she slowly pushed herself to her feet and stumbled around. Cye caught her, clicking his tongue as of the time before now.
"Can you please trust me? Please? I want you to trust me, I don't want to fight you and almost get us killed, I want you to trust me and I want you to be on my side. I'm not going to fight you." Cye said, grabbing her hands in his and looking to the side for now.
It was an odd little problem, one she nodded at him, smiling, and trusting for a second. It would only make sense between now.
"You can't trust me and I can't trust you for now. I don't entirely know what to try and do… But I do want to point out that I don't trust you… Not yet, I'm sorry." Cinder said as Cye nodded and hugged her hands to his chest.
It will be a lot more of a nightmare, for now, an issue that he could deal with. Cinder went to speak and Cye looked at her and shook his head, looking down at the ground, tired at this very second.
"You don't have to trust me now, but I don't want you to try and kill me, not anytime soon. We have more problems than fighting each other and the last thing I want is to try and kill each other over nothing." Cye stated to himself.
"We can at least get there and then fight, can't we? Fight when we aren't going to die in the damn show…. I'd prefer that at least if we're going to fight." Cye said before slowly straightening up.
It was as he slowly started to walk back to the cockpit she nodded, and more and more problems would grow from it. Cinder clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, her arms feeling colder and colder and colder at the end before now.
She didn't at all know what to do next at the end of the time being all too tired and looking to the side. Cinder would get more and more tired at the end of the time being and smirked for the time being.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Cinder asked as Cye shrugged before looking upwards and into the roof of the ship, eager to try and understand at the end of the day.
"In what way? I don't even know what to tell you unless I try and understand… Sorry, thinking to myself." Cye said as he slowly sat down in the seat on the craft.
"If you mean inside? I'm pretty worn down at the end of the day and it's something I'm getting used to all of this, not in the way I want to try and get it all out of the way." Cye said before he yawned and felt more and more exhaustion take over his body.
He was worn down, very worn down, and very tired at the end of the day. There was very little he could see or do at the end of the day because he was just too tired to try and get any enjoyment from it all.
Cinder sighed, her golden eyes burning like lights and it was clear more and more some measures could get worse and worse at the end of the day. it didn't at all bother her that they were far from Atlas.
She wouldn't miss the frozen hellhole considering what had been done to her and it would be better with more and more exhaustion at the end of the day.
She didn't want to see it anytime soon, the memories it brought were nightmarish in scope and scale to the end of the day. She wouldn't have allowed it for now.
Cinder was a lot more amused by such antics as Cye slowly started to lean from foot to foot as if he'd fall out of the ship doing anything else.
Cinder ran her hands down her temples and clicked her tongue against the teeth of her mouth and she yawned to herself as she rubbed her hands together over and over at the end of the day.
Cinder started to smirk at her friend who was tired, all too bored at the end of the day. She tilted her head before sitting across from him, utterly bored and exhausted, utterly confused, and exhausted.
"You have no idea where we are going with this ship, do you?" Cinder asked as she checked the controls and felt little to no response at the end of the day.
There was little to nothing from Cye as he fell into confusion and tired anger at the joke. It was just more and more to deal with each passing second and was becoming far more tedious at the end of the day.
She knew there was very little to nothing they could do to try and fix it. They had so much to fix, to deal with, to find a common ground upon for now at the end of the day as she hummed.
It was becoming clear to everyone that if they stayed here that it'd be a worse problem than just gas to the duo over and over again at the end of the day.
He knew more and more that she was just doing her best to not fall apart and it wasn't exactly like he had a lot more to offer and deal with.
He seemed to be all entertained by it at the moment. He had a lot more to try and figure out from her anyway. They had a lot more to see, to do anyway. He returned to his seat, sitting in utter silence, all too divided by what to see and do next.
They had a lot more to try and understand and he seemed to focus more and more to try and deal with such measures. He was all too concerned with what to do next and Cinder knew it easily as she paused.
"Are you going to be ok when we get there? You know we can't get back. He didn't know he didn't at all know what to try and do next, Mistral is a lot less strict than you might think, nothing really to be said and done." Cinder heard from Cye.
She was silent and looked at him, almost wondering and expecting something from him as she went, whatever he did next?
He'd do it knowing she was safe and secure, unsure of what to focus upon… He knew that such a measure would be hard to understand, even in the direst of circumstances.
He sighed and leaned back in the chair, utterly tired and uncertain of it all. He knew what to focus more upon than before and he knew such problems would only continue to grow and perhaps with impunity grow more and more.
Cinder slowly climbed into the seat next to him, smiling and giving a thumbs up as the two seemed purely bent only upon an idea of what to do next.
He had a lot more to try before now she had a lot more. She gripped his arms and squeezed the palms of his hands purely.
She wanted more and more to try at the end of the day to learn more, she wanted to help but she was not at all sure she could or even would be allowed to figure it out without certain problems.
He had a lot more to try and figure out at the moment what was being allowed. It scared her, truly? It did, for now, a lot scarier upon the mind as she looked down at the ground.
"I want you to help me when I'm allowed to… Not before, not when I can barely stand to try and figure it out myself. I don't know what will happen when we get to Mistral, but I do know I want you to help before then… I just want you to know that." Cinder said before she looked down at the ground.
She squeezed her hands before squeezing his hands as well. She was utterly tired before now. He didn't even want to try and understand it at all nor would she be able to control the terror and power inside her and all such measures.
She was scared but she'd control it, she'd unlock her destiny or die at the moment, all too prepared for measures beyond notice if nothing else.
They had more to study anyway and this boggled her mind if nothing else. So much more the better for now and yet it was scary to admit it.
She didn't blame him, not even a little. It was just him trying to be nice and help her. It wasn't exactly like he wanted to hurt her or was doing something against her will. Plus?
She was as much of a warrior. He and she knew that if he wanted to hurt her?
He'd have done so, far worse than anything she could or would deal with such things to try and figure as of now.
He didn't at all try figuring out more and more and more and more, something he really couldn't see and even do much if anything.
She was a warrior and she knew more and more as of now, amused at the end of the day. it was a lot more to try and figure it out when push came to shove and she leaned backward, crossing her feet on the console as she looked at him.
He rolled his eyes at the moment, too unsure of what she'd say or even do if nothing else. Cinder was a mystery to him and it strained his very brain to even try and figure it all out.
"You know, there might be a good way to hide out amongst the criminals. A lot of people might be all criminals, right?" Cinder asked as she looked to the side.
Cye could only snort at this but seemed to merely make him more and more amused than anything as she knew more and more their antics were neither of their faults. It was something he couldn't and just wouldn't react.
"Maybe, but that means dealing mostly with very scary people who want us all dead and the last thing we want is dealing with people who want us all dead, Cin," Cye said as he sighed.
"It's not going to be that easy to figure out and the last thing we need is the criminals there wanting to kill us. Trust me, it's easier said than done and the last thing you want is some criminals at the end of the day." Cye said before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
"There's a lot of criminals who like killing people in mistral who don't like us at the moment and it's really hard to figure out," Cye said as he sighed before he rubbed at his temples.
"You of all people should know more than anything just what it means to go against the villains," Cye said only to be greeted by a blank look from her and allowed him to sigh as she looked down at the ground before he seemed to be utterly unsure of what to try and figure out as of now.
Something that could and would continue to be harder than he expected. It would be much harder to deal with than expected and something far beyond the realm of possibility for him.
It was odd but he dealt with it just like he dealt with anything and everything he could and would allow himself to figure out for now.
There was something else that could and would allow something that he could and would deal with for now.
All such problems would allow him to keep growing, he heard Cye slowly start to look downwards at the ground, unable to think of what to try and deal with before all was said and done.
It felt odd now, something was growing inside him for now before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth before he looked downwards before now.
"You all good, Cye?" Cinder asked as Cinder put her feet up on the dashboard. "I've… Never been outside the kingdom." Cinder said as Cye hummed.
"You've gone outside the kingdom?" Cye heard as he shook his head.
"No," Cye said before rubbing at his temples. "No, I don't know when it comes down to it what to say and do next. All of it is just coming and going as I slowly coast through the motions." Cye said before he looked downwards at the ground and ran his fingers through his hair.
All of it just cut through him over and over. All of it simply made him scream inside, unsure, and uncertain for now. it was cutting him all over for the moment as he seemed to dwell upon what he could and would relax once more.
All of it seemed to be bothering him at the time, he didn't at all know when it ended and he didn't know when was going to be able to relax once more.
The ideas on his mind could and would not be able to sleep, nor could he think once he was able to relax once more.
He ended it, he'd always end it nor would he do something like this, not even close as of now… They had a lot more upon what to try and figure it all out. They had something more and more precious on their hands to deal with.
They were so unready to believe in something that it hurt, nothing else about it was honestly something he could afford. The idea of it all was a nightmare and something none of them could relax about.
She was able to unable to try and understand what to try and figure out once more. They had a lot more to deal with and a lot more to fathom anyway.
"You've been unable to relax since we escape. Are you going to be able to relax once more? We need to keep moving or else we will die… Like a shark without an ocean to swim in, trust me. I will understand if you do not wish to." Cye said as Cinder sighed and rubbed at her temples.
She didn't at all know what to say as she crossed her legs upon the dashboard, looking through golden eyes. She knew partly that he was trying to help and she?
She wasn't helping, not even for a smidgen as she glanced down at the ground.
She rubbed at her arms as she felt the small traces, the vestiges of cold seep down on her, reminding her again and again.
All of it seemed to be able to make her relax as she cracked her fingers and rubbed at her frost-bitten feet.
Her aura blazed orange as she glanced down at the ground. How well could she hide in this world? How well could it be something that could and would be able to relax once more for the time being?
All of it seemed horrifying. She could not escape her past; she could not become better, she could not change from whom she was, not even a little.
Her life was decided from the moment she had been uncreative for now, it would be sorted out once more. How could she hide who she was? All of it seemed to be worse and worse before now.
They would hate her, they all hated her because she was a freak, even in atlas… Even here. It would not end anytime soon as of now. They had a larger amount of madness when it was all said more and more as of now.
All of it nightmarishly lane seemed to bother for now, an idea of what to see and do at the end of the day at the time being, she'd manage to relax once more.
They had a lot more to see and do next at the time, desire to be superior to what they were for now, they had a lot more to deal with and all of it seemed to hurt more and more.
He couldn't even fathom it because it was so tiresome, so odd and odder still as she looked downwards at the ground. They had a lot more to see and do, something that could only end well for now. A measure of mercy upon which they could only figure it out for now.
They had a lot more to see and do when they escaped and caused problems… Possibly because they couldn't dare deal with such foolishness for now, a foolish nature that only grows with each passing second.
"You are not an easy woman to try and understand, you know. So much about life makes me wonder what is going on like I cannot possibly think on my feet, you should know I am far more capable of dealing with it than you think." Cye said as Cinder hummed and looked at the ground.
"I have no doubt it is far harder to think about it all than you think just as much as I believe it will be far harder," Cinder said as she looked down at the ground, ready.
"There are a lot more problems we can only solve together, trying to escape that is like trying to dance in the wind. It's not fun and it's not easy, you suffer because you don't want anyone else helping, and then it just becomes awful." Cye said as he sighed and looked downwards at the ground as well.
He knew he was going to be bothering her, partly because he didn't at all see it the same way.
There were good parts and bad parts and the good parts oddly seemed to only bother him, bringing everything to the forefront again and again and again.
They had such a dance to end it for now, a dance nobody wanted to see end purely for good reason. This thing only seemed to try and figure out what to try and do next, all of it seemed to bug him.
Cinder watched as Cye hummed and put on autopilot, managing to lean back across the console, unable to do more than simply look upon it all with some semblance of mercy.
Perhaps it was for the best but it was better than nothing at the end of the day. This would keep managing to be odder and odder at the end of the day, a desire to try and grow beyond it all that just wouldn't die out anytime soon.
No, it was clear more and more, something that had to be better than this.
"Are you going to be ok when we get there? I know a place… I heard about a place we can go, it's not a big deal anytime soon, something we can't afford to deal with but I get it sooner or later." Cye said as he looked downwards at the ground.
He knew more and more that Cinder was trying her best to deal with it, not just because it was odd but because every single little thing on her mind seemed to bother her. She was a very odd late, one who couldn't exactly tell the best in the place, he knew just how much she'd be around them all and yet it was awkward, to say the least.
Well, not just because of obvious reasons but because he knew deep down that whatever came next? It'd end all too suddenly once more and more uncertain for it all… They had a large amount of mercy to deal with and it became harder and harder to try and justify sooner or later… What came next would be a problem.
"It sounds nice, I'm going to need to think about it all. All of it seemed to be odder and odder when it came down to it once more as of the time being." Cinder said, sighing as she looked down at the ground, pressing her head to her knees.
She was utterly unable to do something about it all, something that bugged her to a massive degree but not in one she could justify.
He wasn't the problem, she was. She folded her legs under her as she sighed, unable to deal with it.
"I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I don't know what to try and do next, there are a lot of things that I could try and do at the end of the day," Cinder said as Cye hummed.
"I'm always here if you need me," Cye stated to which Cinder nodded, well aware he was trying his best for the moment again and again.
What they had to try and figure out as of the moment, he had a lot more to try and figure out as of the moment.
She would be a lot more troublesome again and again at the end of the day. What else would come if they had nothing to aspire to and nothing to deal with? because she thought it'd be nothing and she would probably more often than nothing be right.
"You should know I don't honestly want anything less than for us to be friends… I just don't trust anyone." Cinder said as Cye simply shrugged and looked downward.
"We're all something or other or something else or all that and this and you know it. we don't know what we are until we find out and we don't get to relax until we figure it all out… And I doubt either of us has figured out what comes next because we never manage to, can't understand something that doesn't exactly exist." Cye said as he sighed, finding out what needed to be done next.
What he would allow was that they weren't the same person and she knew it and she sighed at the annoyance that they wouldn't be able to relax the same way and would be forced to handle it another way.
"Cin? Can I ask that we talk about this when we land rather than just avoid it? We aren't going to win by trying to just ignore that it doesn't exist. There's no time to try and figure it all out." Cye stated before he sighed and then he looked to the side.
Cinder nodded and tried to rub the circulation back into her feet. She was cold… And yet? she was alive, alive enough to try and figure out what to try and figure out something about it.
She looked downwards at the ground for a moment, she sighed before she relaxed once more. What would she need to try and relax with? They had a lot more to do and she sighed, looking upwards and into the sky, something about it all seemed to keep growing, she had a large amount of mercy that simply grew.
Perhaps it was her destiny to see these things through… Perhaps it would be ended well enough, a measure of mercy that simply didn't end well enough.
"Why do you care enough to try and protect me knowing what will happen? You know well enough that what comes next will not end well enough… And whatever happens next? There's a lot more to try and deal with at the end." Cinder stated before she hummed once more.
She was utterly silent, ready to cut it to the bone, something that was unable to focus on anything or even a small smidge… They had an ending to get to and that meant cutting out all the driftwood for now, driftwood that continued to take up space in the matter, driftwood that didn't at all seem to keep getting worse.
Cinder sighed and looked downwards at the ground, mercy upon her that she didn't at all seem to believe she deserved for now. The sooner they got the alliance they wanted?
The least they could do was end it peacefully and truthfully.
