Anyway! Hope you enjoy this chapter!

"Do you think he's dead?" Axel whispered as he was thinking about poking this guy in the arm and see if he stirs. Zephyr was standing behind the blonde teen, scared that the boy on the ground would jump up without warning and startle them both.

"Check his pulse…" The girl spoke as she leaned over Axel to get a better look at the guy. He looked around at her with an unreadable expression.

"I don't want to check. What if he's faking it so fools like us will come closer, and then he'll snatch us and feed us to his tribe, and then we'll–"

"You literally just flipped him over! Just check it!"

"Fine!" The boy exclaimed.

He knelt down to the seemingly unconscious boy. He pants getting damp from the water they were now in. He gently placed his two fingers on the neck of the boy. Zephyr biting her fingernails in nerves. Suddenly, the boy let out a small groan and turned slightly. Even though it wasn't much, this small movement made Axel fall back in the water and hide behind Zephyr. He was slightly taller than her, so he had to bend down in an awkward position to be completely shielded. "He's alive." Axel whispered in her ear after brushing some of her hair away, his breath against her skin giving her chills.

Zephyr decided to be the brave one for once and stepped over to the still unconscious boy. His face is more visible now. She hesitantly walked over to the boy and picked up a stick from the ground and used it to push the bangs out of the boy's eyes. He had fair skin and still no idea what his eye color was. His scar is still very very visible.

"Zephyr!"

The girl turned around and saw her mother running in their direction. Her father is behind her this time. Which is odd. Usually he's leading.

The teen saw that the council was there as well. They must have been summoned by someone.

"Whose that?" Astrid asked, as she grasped the shoulders of both her daughter's and Axel's. She pulled them farther away from the body in the water. She saw her dead walk closer to the boy. Looking skeptical of course. He knelt down to him, his prosthetic squeaking at this action. He moved slightly towards him and almost gasped at his scar. The council members behind him gasping as well, doing a worse job at hiding their initial reactions.

"He's been unconscious since we found him a few minutes ago." Axel pointed out. The chief nodded at understanding.

"Stand back, H." Tuffnut Thorstan pushed through the small crowd of people. Cracking his knuckles very loudly, making people around him cringe.

"I have a nact for annoying people till they wake up! Legend has it, I woke someone up from a coma just by the sound of my irritating voice." Tuff boosted proudly.

"Legend has it? Did you or did you not?" Snotlout asked with crossed arms. Tuffnut just chuckled slightly.

"That's a good one, S."

Snotlout just rolled his eyes. "So what are you planning on doing?"

The boy twin smiled as he cracked his fingers impossibly loud and nudged the shorter man out of the way. "Step aside, mon ami." He cleared his throat. Oh boy, here it comes.

"Hey you!!" He yelled into the boy's ears, making several people flinch intensely. Astrid was face palming in the back and Hiccup was looking at the sky and shaking his head. Muttering something about the twin's irritation.

"Hey kid! If you can hear us, move something!!" He shouted again and he shook his shoulder rapidly. Astrid groaned and pulled Tuffnut back to his feet.

"He probably can't hear anymore, because you made him deaf." She muttered. Snotlout pushed him aside and Ruffnut pulled him away and muttered "I can't take you anywhere."

The boy only stirred.

"At least we know he's alive." Hiccup stated.

"Hiccup, look!"

He looked over and saw his wife pointing to the unconscious boy and noticed that his eyes were moving frantically behind his eyelids. The act you see when someone is dreaming of something intense or scary.

Without warning, the boy coughed loudly and his eyes shot open. Making Hiccup exclaim in surprise and he fell back into the water beneath him. He heard the slight laughter of his daughter in the distance, standing in front of Fishlegs. She covered her mouth to quiet her laughing. Hiccup smiled slightly. Glad that his clumsiness and silly demeanor is still enough to make his kids laugh.

"Sit him up!" Fishlegs shouted as both Hiccup and Snotlout leaned the kid on one side so he could cough up some water that must have been launched in his lungs for ages. As he coughed some more, Hiccup pressed his lips into a thin line and patted the boys back. His naturally fatherly instincts were kicking in. Even though Astrid is the mother, people always called him the mother hen. It was a little awkward with this boy because he was basically a John Doe on this island.

"Who the Hel are you?" Snotlout asked, harshly. Giving him a whack to the head by Astrid.

"What?! We just spent half our lifetimes waiting for this dude to wake up but we don't even know if this guy is trying to kill us. He could have been waiting for us to give him 'mouth to mouth' and next thing you know, he blows us with special poison that makes us insanely high, till we don't even know how to walk, and he'll strike us with his invisible pose, and the we'll have to move again and name it "Newer Berk" because we are so creative and are amazing at coming up with names!" Snotlout took a deep breath after his long ramble, leaving everyone looking at him with raised eyebrows.

"Or he could have just washed up here by coincidence." Astrid spoke.

"Thank you." Hiccup replied in gratitude.

"Fine. Go with the lame reason." Snotlout muttered with crossed arms.

The boy was still slowly regaining consciousness. His eyes began to flutter.

Fishlegs walked over and sprinkle some water on the boy's face to hopefully make his eyes open. He finally moved his arms and it seems like he's trying to get himself to sit up. Hiccup placed his arms around his back and assisted him into a sitting position.

"Wha.. append.." The boy slurred. Still coughing up some water.

"He's delirious! Quick! I'll distract him while you run–" Tuffnut gasped.

"Can someone get him out of here?" Hiccup rolled his eyes. Fed up with the Thorstan twin. Snotlout shooed the blonde man away from the scene.

"How many fingers am I holding up?" Fishlegs asked, holding up three fingers.

The boy stared at the man and took a shaky inhale.

"Three." He replied. Fishlegs put his fingers down and soon grabbed a small flashlight he kept in his satchel for some reason, and waved it in front of the boy's eyes, and luckily, he followed it without even having to be told to. Lastly, he placed his hand on the boys back and chest to feel his breathing to the best of his ability. It was still slightly shaky but he was still emptying out his lungs from the water. Fishlegs looked up at Hiccup and nodded slightly. He got up from the wet ground and let Hiccup deal with the rest.

"You're on New Berk. My name is Hiccup." He said, still holding the boy up slightly so he didn't fall back again. "Do you remember who you are?"

The boy looked around at all the faces looking at him from all directions. His breathing evened out.

"B-Bryant…"

Hiccup looked back over at the boy. "What was that?" He asked again.

"My name is Bryant." He nearly whispered.

Hiccup really wanted to ask him about the scar on his face but he didn't want to sound rude. Maybe it'll come up in conversation later.

The healer was soon rushed over to where the boy layed and Hiccup held out a motion to tell her to stay put for a second.

"We're going to take you to the Healer, okay? To make sure you are well…"

With that remark, the boy's eyes opened drastically and he shook his head.

"No. N-no! Not the healer!" He stuttered. He started to tremble and Hiccup could feel it in his arms. He started to breathe heavier and his eyes started to flutter once more.

"It's okay! We just want to check you out…" Hiccup put his hand on the kid's upper back and his thumb grazed the nape of his neck. The boy looked up at the chief with wide and slightly fearful eyes, making Hiccup down at him. Holding this strange boy in his arms, is making him think back to when his children were younger and depended on their parents when they got injured or hurt. Physically. Now, most of their injuries are mental and emotional. I guess that's what happens when you're a teenager. He remembers what it was like. He looked up at his daughter and saw her standing by the shoreline with her arms crossed, looking down at the mysterious boy. Her blonde friend standing next to her, looking down as well. Luckily, more men from the council pushed their way through the small crowd, which shook him out of his thoughts.

Fishlegs walked back over and lightly gripped the boy's arms.

"Can you walk?" He asked the boy, who nodded slightly. Still in a daze.

They decided to help the boy up. His legs are shaky and wobbly. Hiccup and Fishlegs gripped the boy's upper arms and led him through the small crowd of villagers. Snotlout slightly pushed people back to make room for the foreign voyager.

Zephyr and Axel backed up slightly. She saw the boy limp over. His eyes were half opened and dazed.

He turned his head towards the two teens by the edge of the gathered group. Zephyr saw the boy flip his hair out of his face. His hair was wet and tangled. Almost fell down by his shoulders. As he tucked his hair behind his hair, the girl saw a small tattoo that was engraved in the boy's skin. She couldn't tell what it was, but it looked burned and poorly done.

Snotlout gestured for everyone to disperse. The show is over.

After Nuffink escaped the forge with El, they made their way over to the forest. The place where they like to go when they want to be alone. The two young teens are the more shy and introverted kids of the groups. Which is why they probably get along so well.

El sat down on the soft grass, against a tall oak tree. She patted the spot beside her on the ground. Nuffink blushed slightly but tried to play it off by flipping her hair out of his face and looked away from the girl.

Nuffink got down next to the girl, and he got out his sketchbook. He knows that El loves to look through his small sketches and she sometimes would make her own sketches next to his. She continues the sketch that he didn't finish.

"What if we're the next ones to find a dragon?" She asked with a smirk.

"That'll be amazing." Nuffink smiled, but he knows if he actually finds a dragon, he'll completely embarrass himself by running away from fright and leaving El to fend for herself.

El pulled out a small sketch that she didn't earlier. The sketch that she showed Zephyr a few hours before. It was the drawing of the black dragon. Similar to the one that Zephyr and Axel talked about seeing.

Guess Nuffink wasn't the only artist in this friendship.

"You drew this?" Nuffink asked, with the drawing in his clutches.

The girl nodded, tucking her auburn hair behind her right ear. A nervous tick she has.

"I guess I have some competition." Nuffink smiled, handing the drawing back to the girl. She pushed the sketch back in his palm. "You can have it. For inspiration." She layed back on the soft ground underneath her. Her hands clasped on her stomach, her fingers fidgeting.

"You can be the artist, I can be the healer." She smiled as the boy laid down next to her. "How's your hand?" She asked as she held his hand in her palm above her face, facing towards the sky.

It was only a paper cut, so there was nothing left of the injury. Only a very faded scarred over mark. It'll be gone in a few days.

Nuffink turned his head towards her and smiled with a small chuckle. "I was brave." He spoke as he tried to puff out his chest. El rolled her eyes and threw his hand down in his chest, making him grunt slightly.

Nuffink placed his hand beside him. They sat comfortably silent for a few moments. A small gust of wind passed by them, making their hair flow in the breeze. Nuffink's sketchbook flew open, making some papers that were closed between the sealed pages, fly loose.

Nuffink sat up, and saw the papers blow in the breeze. He tried to grab his papers but they kept scattering around the small area. El got up as well and placed her foot on one of the loose papers. Suddenly, the wind got worse and about thirty pieces of paper flew into the lake in front of them. Nuffink groaned in annoyance.

The wind escalated, so Nuffink assumed that winds ment a storm was coming.

"Come on, we have to get out of here." Nuffink spoke as he nudged the girl's upper arm. He began to jog away. He looked back and saw El was still standing there. He called her name again, but he just saw her take off her small cloak, and placed it on the ground.

What is she doing?

She ran towards the lake and she didn't even look back before she dived in the water. In a way he didn't think she knew how to dive.

"What the Hel are you doing?" He asked, and he ran his fingers through his hair.

It was thirty degrees and windy. The lake was half frozen, and his crazy friend decided to jump in head first to get some meaningless sketches he did over the months.

He really needs to make new friends…

"El, get out of there!" He shouted, as her head popped up from the water and her hair became loose from her signature bun.

Nuffink realized this was the first time he saw her with her hair down.

"Oh my God." He groaned. He gripped his hair and took off his own cloak, with a groan.

El looked back at him, holding a soggy piece of paper in her hand. Her bangs flat against her forehead due to the icy water.

"I can't believe you're making me do this." Nuffink sighed and began to run towards the icy water. He basically did a cannonball into the water, making a splash that caused El to look away to avoid the dangerously cold water.

El giggled, seeing the boy's head peak through the surface, having a hard time to keep afloat.

"Do you know a cure for hyperthermia?" He asked, with a stutter. His vocal cords strained from the temperature.

El just ignored the question and slashed the boy with the icy water. A chunk of ice went in his face, making him fall back. Making El giggle.

They splashed each other for a few minutes more. As the dark clouds gathered together in the sky. El pulled herself up on the grass, sitting on the edge. Her legs are still in the water. She ringed her hair out.

Nuffink placed his arms on the edge of the lake, next to El's legs.

She pushed him back in the water with a smirk and got up and jogged next to the tree where they left their cloaks.

Nuffink climbed out of the water and shivered aggressively. He went back over to El who was placing the wet piece of paper on the grass. Most of the charcoal, now smeared and faded. The papers that are so fragile, they could rip.

She felt a hand on her shoulders as he tried to bend down, but his frozen bones made it hard.

"I can always make more." He spoke, as he placed her cloak around her shoulders. "But I appreciate you being spontaneous." He chuckled.

"I felt like taking a dip." She smiled. Trying to tie her wet hair back.

"I guess I did too." He smirked. They were now wrapped up like burritos in their thick cloaks, trying to stay warm.

The two teens really broke out of their shell.
