Professor Ozpin had lived for a long, long time. He'd seen more than anyone else on the face of Remnant. He's seen, and can perform magic, he's seen the Gods that created the planet, and he's seen semblances far more powerful than anyone could believe.
But the man in front of him… he'd never seen, or even heard, of anything like it.
This man, this… Jason Voorhees… he was completely unlike anything Ozpin had ever encountered before.
He's encountered immortal beings before. After all, Salem is immortal, and Ozpin himself has some sense of immortality with his reincarnation cycle. So it wasn't necessarily immortality that was a surprise.
But something was off with Jason. And his appearance certainly didn't help things. His clothes were old, ragged, torn, and looked as if they'd gone a few rounds with a Leviathan. And his skin, what they could see of it anyway, certainly added to that feel.
He had the skin of a decomposed corpse.
He'd seen many bodies wither and die in the past, and in his long history, he's come across plenty of already decomposing corpses in his lifetime. And that's exactly what Jason was. The pigment of his skin pretty much non-existent, warped to a gray or black lifeless rotted color. Some sections of his exposed skin were clearly missing, and Ozpin was almost positive that he could see some bones and muscle tissue exposed.
And for the man to be as strong as he's been told…
Miss Rose made it quite clear what Jason had done in the forest. After foolishly attempting to defeat a Deathstalker and a Nevermore, Miss Rose found herself cornered and inches from having her life claimed.
And then the man in front of him saved her life, actually outmuscling the large Grimm and using the Nevermore feather that had trapped Miss Rose to kill its owner… by throwing it.
Scientifically, Jason's body should not even be able to stand, or perform any feat of strength.
Very clearly, there was magic inside Jason… and since it was the God of Darkness who'd sent the man, Ozpin guessed it was a dark source of magic.
An… evil kind of magic.
But that wasn't the most shocking thing of all.

That was the response Jason wrote when asked where he was from. And honestly, Ozpin wasn't sure how to take it.
Was he from another planet? Another universe entirely? Since it was a literal god responsible for Jason's presence, Ozpin wasn't as surprised as most people would be. But that didn't make it any less stunning that he was in the presence of what is essentially a magical alien.
"You are… from another world?" Ozpin repeated as he looked at Jason in disbelief. Jason simply nodded his head, confirming Ozpin's question once more.
"Is everyone in your home… like you?" Glynda questioned, cautious but curious, from next to Ozpin.
The revenant shook his head in response to the question.
"Do humans exist in your home?" Ozpin asked curiously. Jason nodded his head in response. "What about faunus?"
At that, Jason was visibly confused, if the head tilt he gave in response to the question was any indication, before he shook his head.
"Do you even know what the faunus are, Mr. Voorhees?" Glynda asked, noticing the confusion he seemed to be trying to convey. At that, Jason shook his head once more.
"Well, with time on this world, you shall learn." Ozpin assured the revenant. "Faunus are the second dominant species on this planet. The most apt description of them would be that of a human, with an animal trait of some sort."
Jason made no outward response to the explanation, standing as still as a statue. If Ozpin had to guess, the man felt no need to really acknowledge that point.
"However, they face harsh racism unfortunately, something that I do believe can change with time, but is a long time away." Ozpin continued his explanation of the Faunus, before narrowing his eyes at the revenant. "I do hope I will have no such troubles from you, however."
This time, they did get a response, though they weren't really sure what to make of it. Though Jason's body language mostly remained the same, they could see his hands curl into fists, clenched tightly in what they assumed to be rage.
Though, whether it was rage towards the faunus plight, or rage towards such an accusation, neither Ozpin nor Glynda were sure.
"With that particular matter out of the way, we now know of your reason to be upon this world, and how you came to be here." Ozpin recollected. "However, what we do not know, is how exactly you can help us."
At this, Jason crossed his arms, and his entire body language was almost as if telling the headmaster to elaborate.
"I'll frank with you, Mr. Voorhees. You were sent not by the God of Light, but by the God of Darkness, the proginator to the creatures of Grimm, the bane of both human and faunus alike. In spite of your supposed goal, I'm not quite sure I trust you." Ozpin told the revenant bluntly, crossing his fingers together upon his desk.
Jason uncrossed his arms, letting them fall back to his side as he stared unblinking at Ozpin, but both he and Glynda could see the one visible eye behind the hockey mask narrow.
He did not like that answer.
"Trust is going to have to be built, I'm afraid." Ozpin elaborated. "And I figure the best way to do that, is to see how well you can work with us." The headmaster was picking his words very carefully. He did not want any sort of misunderstanding or altercation to occur. Especially considering if the words of the newly formed teams RWBY and JNPR were to be believed, then this man was extraordinarily strong, and from his own demonstration earlier, most likely did not have his Aura unlocked.
Jason leaned over the desk, picking up his pen once more and scrawling his poor handwriting across the pad, before pushing it back towards Ozpin to read.

"How?" Ozpin questioned, making sure that he had the revenant's quarry correct. When Jason nodded, the headmaster elaborated. "Admittedly, I'm attempting to figure that out myself."
"He could with some schooling." Glynda spoke up, catching both Jason and Ozpin's attention as she eyed the notepad. "No offense meant on this front, Mr. Voorhees, but do you even know how to right properly?"
In response, Jason shook his head. Glynda had figured as much.
"Have you ever had a day of certified education in your life?"
Once again, Jason shook his head.
"While you do have a point, Glynda, all of the spots for this years students have filled." Ozpin reminded his Vice Headmistress. "If we allow Jason in, we'd have to accept three more students for another team."
"But teams with less than four are not unheard of, are they?" Glynda retorted with a raised eyebrow. "And this does allow you to accept three more students in after reviewing the previously passed over transcripts."
Ozpin was silent as he mulled over his options.
Admittedly, he was unsure of how this would work. Sure, they could accept Jason in as a student, but the main problem would be his teammates. Jason would be more involved with the ongoing activities of his inner circle than his teammates, and that could possibly lead to discord among them.
Not mentioning that assuming that the revenant completes his task, there's no telling if he'll even still be on Remnant afterwards. Which means that said team would once again be one member down, and depending on how long this were to take, that would pose a problem of it's own, teams with less than four students would be unable to take on new members after their first year.
Not to mention Jason's apparent lack of aura, subjects of which were basic knowledge and a requirement for those attending any of the various academies among the four kingdoms. And given how powerful he possibly was, Ozpin was not completely comfortable trying to unlock the revenant's aura for the time being.
Though… there was another possibility.
"Glynda, we are still accepting applications for your assistant teaching position, are we not?"
Both Glynda and Jason turned to look at Ozpin, and for once, disbelief was an emotion that was clearly obvious among both of them.
"You can't be serious." Glynda said, her voice filled with disbelief at the mere prospect of it. This man, an immortal no less with no basic schooling and absolutely no training… as her assistant teacher?
Even with the mask covering his face, Jason's body language alone indicated that he was in full agreement with her on this one.
"I am." Ozpin replied without missing a beat. "You can provide him some basic schooling and if need be, training. You could also keep a constant watch upon the man until we know we can trust him, and in return, Jason can attend lunch with the students and you'll have someone helping during your combat training."
"Ozpin, we know only what he's told us, and that alone is very little." Glynda moved her gaze to eye the revenant warily. "And besides, regardless of his supposed goals, I'm not so sure I'm comfortable having him around any of the students."
"Within lunch, he will be severely outnumbered, and there are teachers all along the school in case he even does attempt something." Ozpin reasoned as he turned to look towards the Vice Headmistress. "Though we may have a right to be wary of him, I do not believe he has intent to harm the students. If that were the case, he most likely would killed Ruby Rose or let her die rather than saving her."
Glynda had to admit, Ozpin had a point. So far, even if only once, Jason had indeed followed upon his objective to protect Miss Rose from harm.
"I'm still not sure of this idea."
"Well, we will most likely have to provide him with a scroll." Ozpin added to soothe the woman. "We can have it tracked at all times, just so we can feel better and know where he is." The headmaster turned his attention towards Jason. "Is that alright with you, Mr. Voorhees?"
In response, Jason shrugged his shoulders, and Ozpin was beginning to believe that with the man, that meant less of an 'I don't know' and more an 'I don't care.'
"But, if it makes you feel better, I will leave the decision in your hands." Either way, Jason would be under constant watch, and though Ozpin didn't trust him at the moment, he had little reason to believe he was lying, especially when he spoke about things of which the number of people knowledgeable in such subjects remained in the single digits.
Glynda looked at Ozpin for a moment, before eying Jason, mulling over her options.
This was getting tedious.
Jason's goal, when summarized, was to protect the Rose girl and stop Salem.
He couldn't exactly criticize Ozpin's distrust for him, when regardless of his own objectives, there wasn't a single person here that Jason trusted either.
The only reason he was really going along with this was because if a fight of some sort broke out, there wasn't much they could do to stop him. They might believe otherwise, even with knowledge of his immortality, but so long as they didn't try to attack him, the revenant could care less what they thought.
He did know that he was starting to get impatient.
Make him a student. Make him an assistant teacher.
The decision was left in the Goodwitch woman's hands, and it seemed like she didn't really want to choose either. So far, she'd been silent, mulling over he options for what had to be close to three minutes now, and if she didn't decide soon, Jason would decide for her.
Finally, Glynda's eyes trained themselves on Jason, and she spoke. "I will accept you as an assistant teacher."
Finally, a decision was made.
"But be warned, I will be watching you closely."
Jason mirrored those same sentiments upon both Glynda and Ozpin.
"Well, now that we know how to proceed, I shall begin setting up everything we'll need for our friend here to be recognized as the assistant teacher." Ozpin spoke up, a rather friendly smile on his face as he pulled open a drawer on his desk.
Jason watched him pull out a device of some sort. It was small, Jason could probably wrap his entire hand around it. It was a small, golden color, with a yellow diamond object in the center.
"This will be your scroll." Ozpin said, offering the device to the revenant, which he accepted. "Press the button, and it will expand into it's active form, allowing you to make calls, text, and have access to the expansive amount of options that the CCT network provides." He explained as Jason examined the small device in his hand.
At Ozpin's words, Jason eyed the small yellow diamond on the scroll, before bringing his opposite finger to it.
Jason wasn't afraid to admit that he almost dropped the thing when it split apart in his hand, and he found himself looking at what seemed to be a solid holographic screen… if that made sense.
"If the time comes when we unlock your aura, we will set the scroll to detect your aura. For now though, that particular feature will remain useless. The numbers of Glynda and myself are already programmed into the scroll, along with that of Beacon's staff."
Jason was no longer paying any attention to the headmaster, eyeing the device in his hand in amazement.
He'd seen modern cellphones back on his world, but he'd never seen a piece of equipment this advanced. Never in his life.
He couldn't help it when he found himself running his finger across the translucent screen, where there looked to already be a bunch of different programs installed already. Swiping across the screen, he was unsurprised to find that it functioned similarly to what some of his more recent trespassers would call a smartphone.
"Glynda will show you to what will be your place of residence at the time being, one of the staff dorm rooms currently unoccupied." Ozpin said as he turned his gaze towards the woman. "Glynda, if you will."
Glynda looked at Ozpin for moment, before rolling her eyes.
"Please follow me, Mr. Voorhees." She said as she strode past him without so much as batting an eye.
Jason pocketed the scroll he was given, before turning to follow the woman into the elevator.
Once the door was closed and the two were out of site, Ozpin let a sigh escape his person. Feelings of disbelief, suspicion, and frustration were prominent within him.
"This a… startling development." He muttered to himself as he pulled his own scroll from his jacket, beginning to swipe away at it. He needed to inform the others.
He went through his scroll, until he found exactly what he was looking for.
Ironwood
Ozpin: There's been a development.
Ironwood: Of what kind?
Ozpin: The God of Darkness. He's still watching over Remnant, apparently. He's not satisfied with our efforts. My efforts.
Ironwood: Good god. What's happened?
Ozpin: Whereas the God of Light chose me to be his champion of Salem, the God of Darkness has taken it upon himself to bring in his own champion. An immortal warrior from another world by the name of Jason Voorhees.
Ironwood: Is he a threat?
Ozpin: For the moment, no. From what I gather, the God of Darkness has sent him with the objective to protect one of my students and stop Salem for good. However, I do find myself concerned with his capabilities.
Ironwood: How so?
Ozpin: If the students who encountered him are to be believed, he has immense physical strength, strong enough to stop a Deathstalker stinger in it's tracks and throw a Nevermore feather right back at the creature. He also possesses immense regenerative capabilities, and he is most likely fueled by some type of magic. In spite of all of this, he does not possess an Aura.
Ironwood: Dear god… and you say he's immortal?
Ozpin: Yes.
Ironwood: Like you?
Ozpin: No.
Ozpin: He does not reincarnate as I do. If he's to be believed, he completely and utterly immortal.
Ironwood: Damn. And he was sent by the God of Darkness. Do we know if he can be trusted?
Ozpin: Unfortunately, no. While he hasn't done anything that contradicts his claims, considering who sent him, I have no good reason to trust him at the moment either. Glynda is going to watch over him, and I have a tracker on his scroll.
Ironwood: Okay. Precautions in place. Any word from Qrow about the Queen?
Ozpin: Not since his last update.
Ironwood: Damn! He's been dark for too long. How do we know he hasn't been compromised?
Ozpin: Qrow is deep into his mission. He might be more focused on his objective to gather intelligence.
Ironwood: We can only wait for so long, Ozpin.
Ozpin: I know, James. For now, we shall have faith in Qrow. In the meantime, I want you to begin work on a more secure way of containment.
Ironwood: For our new friend?
Ozpin: I do not believe he possesses the kind of magical capability that Salem or myself do, rather, it's just magic keeping him alive. If this is correct, we may be able to contain him at the very least if he proves to be a liability. As I've said, he doesn't have an aura, so we at least have an advantage in that regard.
Ironwood: Alright, I'll see what I can do.
With that last message, Ozpin considered the conversation to be over, and placed his scroll back into his pocket.
One thing Ozpin did know, is that for better or worse, Jason Voorhees was going to be a game changer.
He could only hope it was for the better.
A/N: And that's chapter three.
In the original story, the exchange between Ozpin, Glynda, and Jason was more rushed, and ended with them trusting each other by Jason taking his mask off. However, I wanted to change it here. While Jason's actions have not contradicted his words, Ozpin still had no reason to immediately put his trust in Jason, and one thing I should've taken into account is regardless of trust, Jason's not gonna feel comfortable enough to take his mask off in front of someone he's just met.
Also, I feel like the first thing Ozpin would try to do is begin countermeasures against Jason in case he proves to be a threat, and the very first thing he'd do is try and find a way to contain him.
In the same vein, Jason's gone mostly unopposed for much of his life, with only a few of his victims escaping, and he's come out of most of his actual fights no worse for wear. Even after his fights with Freddy Krueger and Leatherface, he was just fine in the end, so there's no reason for Jason to believe he can't just force his way out of something, so he has no reason to really care whether Ozpin trusts him or not, so long as he doesn't impede Jason's goal. He has no reason to believe any of them have the power to stop him.
That's not to say for sure that they couldn't contain Jason, just that Jason has no reason to believe they could.
Anyway, that's all for this chapter, and I'll see you in the next one.
