The Seven Members of the Eldian Liberation Team was comprised of Batman, Supergirl, Wonderwoman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Cyborg. Cyborg spoke little as he joined the others, a fact that Batman was thankful for.
He had brought along the greatest force in the world, and he found himself honestly a little insulted by the response.
"He only sent a single man?" Batman asked derisively, as he stared at Levi Ackerman.
Levi gave him a dark look, and then sighed, shaking his head.
"He only needed one." He said. He sounded almost gloomy. "It's not like you sent your best, either."
Batman was about to retort, but Wonder Woman cut him off.
"Captain Levi." She said formally. "We are here to detain Eren Jaeger. He has threatened the peace of the world and as such-"
"I have my orders." Levi said coldly. "I'm a soldier. I do what I'm told."
He drew his swords.
"And I've been told to kill you all."
The Flash gave Batman a look.
"You've got to be kidding me, right?" He said. "Do you know what you're up against?"
As if to emphasize his point, he ran towards Levi at full speed. He appeared in front of him in a split instant, and unleashed a furious series of punches and kicks against his stomach.
"Agh!"
The Flash felt his knuckles crack from the sheer hardness of Levi's abs. He pulled away, glancing for the briefest of moments at his hand, and didn't notice the incoming attack.
SWOOP.
The Flash screamed as Levi's ODM gear, a tool designed for penetrating buildings and stone walls to pull their users around a battlefield, penetrated his leg, shattering his knee and ripping it in pieces. He bent over in pain as Levi drew his sword and in one swift spin sliced off all of his arms and legs.
The torso of the remains of the Flash fell to the ground at his feet. The remaining six members of the Justice League stood, shocked, that a member of the League would be dispatched that quickly.
"I don't mess around." Levi said, as he launched himself at Supergirl. She raised her hands to block his strike, but suddenly she felt herself feeling very faint. She barely had time to realize that the sword he held in his hands were infused with kryptonite before he chopped her head clean off.
"Team, form up!" Batman cried out, as the team leaped at their opponent. Cyborg rushed him, his fist clenched in a violent frenzy, as Levi spun his swords around… neatly severing his arms. Sparks shot out from his useless limbs as he stumbled around, trying to get his balance as Green Lantern created a giant hammer, and brought it down on Levi's head.
Levi shot out his ODM gear, dragged Cyborg to him, and then shot another hook away, getting his distance from them as Green Lantern accidently crushed Cyborg.
What remained of his bones shattered under the sheer weight and force of the attack, and his circuity died completely.
"No!" Green Lantern said hoarsely. He barely registered Levi as he came flying by, and with one smooth motion completely decapitated him.
"What is this?" Aquaman thundered. "This man… his power is beyond that of our own?"
"He's more than a man." Wonder Woman said, her eyes narrowed. "He must be a god."
Levi spun around in midair, and descended on Batman, the engines of his ODM gear whirring. Batman stood tall as Levi came near him, only for him for the blade to be blocked by Wonder Woman. The blades bounced harmlessly off of her gauntlets, as she grabbed the cord of the ODM gear and swung him around.
Levi braced himself as he was slammed into the ground. Wonder Woman brought the cord back up, and swung him back upward, intending on swinging him back down again. Thinking quickly, Levi slashed at his ODM gear, severing the cord on that side, and fell to the ground, sliding backward.
Batman advanced, leaping, his powerful fingers looking to restrain him, but he greatly underestimated his opponent. When he tried to put Levi in a hold, he was shocked by the sheer amount of power the other man exerted when he threw him off again.
Before Levi could swing his sword, both Wonder Woman and Aquaman were at him, throwing hefty blows left and right. Levi had no choice but to leap backwards, his eyes only on Wonder Woman.
"Ugh!"
Aquaman hurled his trident at him. Levi grabbed it in midair, spun around, and then threw it back, impaling him through the skull. Wonder Woman barely had time to mourn the loss of her comrade when he came at her, his swords spinning wildly. She had little choice but to block again, catching him in mid swing with her won sword.
They stared at each other for a few moments.
"I had heard of your powers." Wonder Woman admitted. "I did not dare to believe it."
Levi did not answer her. Batman had snuck up from behind and wrapped his arm around his neck. Levi pulled backward, trying to throw him off as Diana aimed a powerful slash right at his stomach.
Levi whirled again, throwing Batman in front of the slash right across his stomach. Batman was cut in two as his body uselessly flailed.
Diana staggered, her eyes widened with what she had done, as Levi, in another spin, drew his sword and managed to cut right through her chest.
She let out a gasp of pain as she stepped backward, blood spurting out of her chest, her eyes wide.
She stared at Levi.
"Never would I have thought I would face defeat at the hands of a man." She breathed.
Levi glanced at her.
"It was a good fight." He said at last.
Wonder Woman smiled.
"I, Diana, declare you the strongest!"
She fell. Levi looked down at her, and a brief moment he surveyed the corpses around him. He sheathed his sword and walked away.
…
"Six dead, one survivor." Historia said.
"I told him to kill them all."
"That cut Diana took would have killed a normal person." Historia argued, giving him a sour look.
The two of them were having tea together discussing the matter at hand. Historia looked exhausted. She had spent all morning trying to explain to the outside world that the Justice League had invaded their country and needed to be put down. Although to the outside world they had been heroes merely trying to upset the peace, the Eldians had seen things differently.
Now, to the outside world, the Eldian people had proven themselves to be incredibly dangerous. Not only had they somehow survived a nuclear strike ordered by the world's only superpower, the United States, they had also destroyed the Justice League… the absolute authority that superseded all world governments.
To the outside world, they were now the greatest threat in the world.
"What happens now?" Eren asked.
"Tensions will continue building until, inevitably, things fall back to what they were." Historia said, her voice grim. "Nothing has changed for a hundred years."
"Wrong." Eren told her. She glowered at him.
"What has changed?"
"Our leadership." He told her. "We will actually protect the Eldian people."
She sighed, shaking her head woefully.
"Sometimes I wonder if that is worth it." She said. "After all of the kindness those people showed us, this is how we repay them. By killing their greatest heroes."
"You sound like your father."
She turned a bright, furious red.
"NEVER say that to me ever again!" She said venomously.
"You are your Father's daughter." Eren repeated coldly. "You're thinking about giving up, because it's easier for you. How much easier it would be if we would just allow our people to be eliminated…"
"I didn't say that!"
"You did." He said. "If you had never joined the scouts, if you had never met me… you would have gladly continued abusing the Founder."
She glared at him hatefully, and was about to retort, when she grimaced in pain, bending over.
"Baby's coming." Was all she said.
…
Raven found herself shocked by the events of the past few days. Not only had Captain Levi eliminated the team sent to restrain Eren Jaeger, not only had the entire world made the Eldian people their enemy… Historia's baby had decided now was a great time to enter the world.
Raven went up to visit her the moment that the Queen had given her permission to do so. Historia smiled at her warmly as Raven peered into the bright blue eyes of her new daughter.
"Her name's Maria." She said, beaming, as Raven nodded her approval.
"A lovely name." Raven said. "It has special significance to your culture."
She was referring to the walls that surrounded the island. The Walls Maria, Rose, and Sina. Historia looked surprised for a moment, and then nodded.
"That's right." She said softly, her eyes focused on her daughter. "The Progenitor of the Eldian people, the great Ymir, had three daughters. Maria, Rose, and Sina."
She smiled grimly.
"We are all descended from Ymir, but I'm not sure from which of her daughters my bloodline hails from."
"I see." Raven was highly skeptical of this, but chose not to comment.
"You can hold her, if you like."
"I don't-"
Despite her protests, Historia smiled and held out Maria to her. She had to stop herself from visibly panicking as she tried to hold the baby in her arms, and cradled it. The baby giggled.
"She likes you." Historia beamed. Raven tried not to show her discomfort in her face as she handed the baby back.
"Does she?" Raven was skeptical of this too.
"Of course she is." Historia said, beaming.
The door opened behind her. Raven turned to see Eren Jaeger step into the room, followed closely by Mikasa Ackermann.
"Ah." Eren said. "I was not aware you had company."
Historia beamed at them.
"Do you want to hold her?"
Raven stepped aside as Eren stepped forward as Historia handed off the baby to him. To Raven's surprise, Ackermann stepped rather closely to get a close look.
"She's adorable." Ackermann breathed, and for the first time Raven noticed smile. "Eren, when we-"
Her eyes flickered to Raven and she fell silent. Raven stared at note, taking very firm notice of the intense emotions flying through her.
"She's lovely." Eren said at last, as he handed the baby not back to Historia, back to Mikasa. Mikasa tried to keep her face relatively stoic, but Raven could very easily see that she was happier than she had been in a very long time.
Historia must have thought the same thing.
"You should have a child of your own, Mikasa." She said, as Mikasa handed the baby back to her.
Mikasa was about to answer, but Eren spoke first.
"She will." He said. "Soon."
Raven stared at him. The two of them shared a knowing look, and then glanced back at Historia.
"Soon." Historia repeated. "How soon?"
Mikasa fingered her hair.
"Probably sooner than you think."
Raven watched them carefully, becoming more and more horrified. No… certainly… Jaeger wouldn't be that callous…. To get another woman pregnant while his wife nursed their first born?
…
A/N
Wow that took a while to put out. For the record I was planning Levi Vs Justice League since the very beginning of the series. Initially Superman would have been killed as well, but due to reader requests to keep him true to his character I chose instead to have him die trying to protect Eldia. I felt that Batman being PURE EVIL was getting on too many people's nerves, so I felt like I had to make some changes to my general plan.
Batman was always intended to be PURE EVIL, but initially it was meant to be a lot more subtle and underhanded, but I felt that most readers weren't getting it and decided to ramp it up as far as I could possibly go. I really do kind of regret that, as I feel like I kind of lost sight of why I wanted to make the character an antagonist to begin with.
Please review if you enjoyed and let me know what you think.
