Kanda awoke to the familiar sounds of his girlfriend sleeping, but she wasn't in her usual place in the bed beside him, in his embrace, surprisingly. Ever so slowly, he turns his head and realises why - she was sitting in a chair by his bed. Amber's head was leaning over to his side with her arms crossed - supporting her head on the edge of the bed, the fingers of her right hand in his palm.

He gently intertwines his fingers with hers and lifts them to his lips, kissing them gently. He slowly sits up and remembers that he had gone into this tent alone on Tiedoll's orders to get some rest, but Amber didn't follow him then. Did she come later to check on him and fall asleep? He wondered what the time was now.

Kanda sat cross-legged, his hand still in hers as he turned his body to face her. He deadpans, realising she hasn't woken up because she was usually a light sleeper unless-

Kanda immediately looks down and realises that his wounds have been cared for while asleep. He then notices Amber's open med kit on the ground.

Kit must have healed me while I was sleeping.

Kanda shakes his head disapprovingly, moving to kiss the top of her head. He told her multiple times not to use her healing powers on him precisely because he knew what a toll it took on her body, and he hated seeing her so exhausted just for helping someone.

"I love you, you troublesome Kit."

Amber mumbles something against her arm, and Kanda tilts his head to see if she is waking up, but instead, he is surprised to see a tear on her cheek. She mumbles something else, but he can't hear, so he leans closer.

"Kanda...don't leave me too...I'm scared."

The samurai could literally feel her tugging at his heart by uttering those words, and he kissed her hand hard in response, "Fuck Kit, I will never leave you. No man would be crazy enough to want to."

"That much is obvious, Yuu-kun."

Kanda turns and sees General Tiedoll entering the tent with his usual easy smile.

"Hn" Kanda eyes him carefully, approaching him. "Moving forward, I would appreciate it if you could cease any further snide remarks about our relationship in front of her that includes her father's name."

Tiedoll winces at the tone, "It was a small joke; I meant no offence."

"Regardless, it hasn't been that long since his death. I rather you do not mention his name in front of her."

Then, Tiedoll understands. Kanda knew there would be some teasing about his new beau. However, he was chewing Tiedoll out for his earlier comment because he was mindful of Amber's grief and feelings. He could not help himself, his expression turning soft at this realisation.

"You have come such a long way, Kanda. You've grown immensely into a fine man. I am very proud of you."

The samurai raises an eyebrow, confused by the sudden praise. "I don't think I've changed."

"You've been considerate of others and learned that you must use a gentler tone of speech when it comes to sensitive matters. I saw that all earlier today in the caravan with Allen and Amber."

Kanda chose to say nothing - he did not see any of that as a big deal. He wasn't as much of a hardass as people made him out to be, anyway. Frankly, Kanda didn't care what others thought of him. He tilts his head, seeing Amber stirring.

"Is dinner ready yet?"

Tiedoll nods, "You can go ahead and wake her."

Later, everyone gathered around a campfire. Lavi sat on Amber's left while Kanda sat on her right. As much as he knew Amber was his, Kanda hated seeing Lavi talk animatedly with her.

He noticed that Lavi's eyes drank in the entirety of her appearance every time he laid eyes on her when they were together. It was tiny, but there was a slight smirk on his lips as he looked her over, admiring her beauty in all the different outfits she had worn.

Presently, Amber has forgone her uniform coat and boots. Instead, she just had on the red sleeveless top she usually wore underneath the matching shorts and plimsolls she carried in her bag in case her feet hurt.

Kanda was sure Amber knew of constant Lavi's leering, but she seemed to ignore it and treated him like a friend.

He stabbed at his dinner with his fork, trying to reign in his irritation.

"Amber"

The petite redhead turns to see that it is Johnny who speaks.

"Yes?"

"You seem tired. Are you all right?"

Amber smiles at his concern, "Thank you, I'm just a little worn out from the healing I did on Kanda earlier. I'll be better after a night's rest."

"You know I didn't want you to exert yourself for me, but you did it anyway."

Amber sighed, turning to face him, but before she could respond, Kanda spoke again.

"I know you heal because you can and want to despite how much it affects you afterwards, so first, I will thank you."

Amber blinked a little, surprised, so she didn't say anything, and the samurai continued.

"However, my opinion and decision stay that I don't want you healing me just for you to exhaust yourself for my sake."

At this, his girlfriend pouts. However, the redheaded girl understood where he was coming from, like her father - he was looking out for her.

The others watched the exchange quietly, mostly impressed that Kanda expressed himself without yelling or being condescending but also acknowledging that his girlfriend was just the way she was. If Amber could help someone, she would do it just because she could.

Lavi, on the other hand, was a little vexed, he understood where Kanda was coming from, but at the same time, he did not appreciate Kanda's tone - he was in pretty bad shape. If Amber hadn't insisted on examining and treating him where she could, they would probably have taken Kanda to the nearest country clinic.

Allen could see Lavi growing livid as Kanda took Amber by the hand out of nowhere and kissed her fingers, causing her to blush prettily at the gesture. He shakes his head. Who knew Kanda would be so bold?

The samurai, meanwhile, had just lifted his head, and Amber could see the dark, almost hungry look in his eyes.

"By the way, Amber and I will share my tent, and none of you has a say in the matter."

Hearing this, Link nearly choked on his food. Johnny patted his back, trying to help while Tiedoll, Lavi and Allen protested this sleeping arrangement, but Kanda could care less.

"My girlfriend, my tent."

My bed

Kanda growled in her ear before licking at her neck; Amber's nails dug into the skin of his back beneath his shirt. She panted softly against his collarbone.

"Yuu, you're still healing from your injuries. We should take it easy."

Kanda tilted his head and licked at her lips before sitting up on the bed and taking off his shirt with ease responding that the idea of slowing down with her in his proximity like this was unfathomable to him.

Amber flushed at the view of his bare chest; she's seen it so many times, yet it made her heart race. It was all muscle. She had always known Kanda to have an almost slender muscled frame; however, since she came back to the Order, she could see his shoulders had gotten broader and his arms a little bigger, but hell, that was hot. Kanda's strength was one of the most attractive things about him.

He leans down, his callused hands rubbing on the inside of her thighs as he kisses Amber again, her nightshirt riding up her skin to expose her belly.

Amber moans in his mouth, her boyfriend's long fingers rubbing her sensitive spot.

"Kit"

She breaks the kiss, Kanda's lips brushing against her as he softly asks permission to touch and kiss her legs. Amber gives her consent, and he gives her a gentle kiss on her cheek before moving downward.

She watches as Kanda lifts her right leg, her ankle on his shoulder blade, as he turns his head to kiss the side of her knee, still keeping eye contact with her. She covers her mouth as he lies down on the bed, kissing and licking her thighs. She curses inwardly. Kanda's mouth was glorious.

"Lavi, you been burning with jealousy all day. Green is not your colour."

The tall redhead groans, "I don't need a lecture."

"You kind of need a talking to, at least."

Lavi raises his eyebrow at Johnny, "Oh?"

"Lavi, we are just worried that if you keep blatantly keeping Amber close, Kanda will snap and rip your limbs off."

Lavi's eye visibly twitched, "It's not like I'm kissing her or anything..."

Link rolled his eyes, "Bookman, you've been head over heels for that girl for ages. Nobody blames you for having residual feelings, but you must establish closure with her. Does she even know you like her?"

"I kissed her once."

This confession interested Tiedoll to make him look up from his sketchbook."Elaborate."

Lavi's face flamed as everyone leaned on to look at him with interest. "She was grieving and emotional. She just learned her father had died-"

Allen cut in, annoyed, "You bastard, you kissed her while she was vulnerable?"

"I didn't mean to kiss her, all right? She was crying so badly, and I hated seeing her sad, and I was even angrier internally because she and Kanda had just made their relationship known and fuck! I have just been wanting to kiss her for ages. I knew it was wrong, but her lips were soft and sweet. I don't regret it at all."

Allen saw his friend's face turn soft as he reminisced about that encounter.

"Did she return your kiss?" asks Johnny gently.

Lavi shakes his head, "She pulled away.."

"Did she say why?" asks Johnny as he readjusts his glasses on his face.

"No, she just said she was sorry."

Link raised an eyebrow, his arms folded. "Her apologising for not returning your advances means that isn't enough closure for you?"

Lavi groaned; his words came in a rush. He sounded angry, hurt and betrayed. Lavi's feelings laid bare as he recounted how much he adored spending time with her, how careful he was in his affectionate hugs or kisses to her skin and yet Kanda took her from him. Kanda made Amber his, away from prying eyes hence why it came as such a shock when they later revealed their relationship. It drove him mad with jealousy.

When the Bookman finally finished, Allen moved to sit next to Lavi and gently rubbed his back, hoping to comfort him. Johhny follows, moving to sit on Lavi's other side.

"We're here for you."

Kanda climbed onto the bed, his hands moving to hold Amber by the hips. He groaned. He couldn't deny that Amber mewling as he gave her hickeys on her inner thighs made him completely hard.

He cursed quietly, looking up at Amber's florid pink cheeks and sparkling copper eyes. He gently lowered his head again to kiss her stomach, and she moaned into her hand, covering her mouth.

"Remember our rule. Tell me when you want to stop."

She nods once, her top hiked up, exposing the underside of her breasts. Kanda tilts his head, his body gently pressing between her legs. He kisses the skin there, and she mutters something in response, making Kanda think he is delirious.

"I love you."

It took Amber a second to realise what she had said, significantly when Kanda lifted his body, pressing against her. "Say that again. Look at me and say that again."

She shakes her head, "You heard me already.."

The petite redhead was sure she was red in the face.

Kanda groans, "Fuck Vixen, say it to my face."

Amber's face flames again. Kanda had called her Vixen in bed a few times, but it always made her heart pound.

"Please"

She meets eyes with him, her hands on his chest, "I said I love you, Yuu."

At that moment, Kanda thought electricity shot through him, finally hearing those words for the first time. It wasn't unpleasant, and Kanda didn't know much about the sensation. It was like this point right now in his life; he would remember this till his last dying breath.

"Fuck Vixen, you have no idea how long I've dreamed of you saying those words."

Amber stared in awe; Kanda was smiling at her. Kanda, the usually broody mean samurai, was smiling at her for returning his feelings.

He leans in and whispers, "You are mine, and I'm yours, Vixen. You are never getting rid of me."

In response, Amber cups his handsome face and kisses him fervently.

He's mine, all mine.
