Xemnas's Point of View

I was angry and jealous at Jessica's words, and I pushed her off the edge before I realized what I was doing. As my heart reformed, my emotions grew stronger, and I had only begun to relearn how to control my jealousy. I knew that if I didn't correct my mistake soon, my dear Jessica would die. I teleported to her down below and teleported back with her.

"What was that?!" Jessica screamed.

I didn't react. As much as I wanted to apologize and tell her it wouldn't happen again, I would have to explain to her why I pushed her in the first place. Instead, I knew I had to make it seem like I knew what I was doing, which would be difficult. "I treated you as I would anyone else. That's what you wanted, isn't it? Anyone else who shows me the same insolence that you have shown me as of late would be turned into a Dusk. As I am unable to do that with you, I gave you a near-death experience, which I consider a very close equivalent, but be warned, the next time, I will not catch you. As everyone else in this castle, you will pull your own weight and perform the mission assigned to you tomorrow."

"Xemnas," Jessica began, choking on her own words.

"Lord Xemnas. I am your superior. It isn't proper to address me without my title, wouldn't you agree?"

Jessica began to cry, and I longed to take it all back, but what was done was done. She ran out of the room, and I made no move to stop her.

When I returned to my room to rest for the night, Jessica was standing at my door, her eyes red and swollen from crying. "I'm sorry," She apologized, her voice weak and hoarse.

I held back from comforting her, though every part of me screamed to. I brushed past her to get into my room.

"Thank you," Jessica continued. I turned to her. "For treating me like family instead of an employee. I took it for granted."

My guard dropped. How could I continue after that? I wrapped my arms around Jessica, and she was overcome with another fit of tears. "It's okay. Shh. It's okay. I forgive you. We'll go on just as we had before." I held my precious Jessica in my arms as her sobbing failed to cease. I waited patiently as her breathing evened out, and her tension melted into a more relaxed state. She pulled away, the water having stopped flowing from her eyes. "You must be tired. It's well past your bedtime."

"Right. Goodnight, Lord Xemnas," Jessica mumbled.

"Just Xemnas is fine," I assured her. She walked back to her room, and I knew I made a bad situation worse. She had enough to worry about without more trauma, but that was all I seemed to inflict upon her as of late.
