Today was the day that everyone was going to part ways, and everyone was saying their final goodbyes.
"Well, it's about time for us to get going, guys," said Heather.
"And make sure you all come to our wedding," Ragnar smiled. "We'll have it in no time at all."
"No time at all could mean a lot of things for a giant and a guy who stopped time around himself," Snotlout pointed out.
"I take it you're heading back to the Fairy King's Forest, Fishlegs," Hiccup assumed.
"Yep, but I won't be travelling alone," said Fishlegs.
"Yeah, we're going to be going with him," said Ruffnut.
"Someone needs to make sure that no dirtbag humans attack the place," said Tuffnut.
Fishlegs looked at Snotlout and Shanna. "What do you and Shanna have planned for the near future?"
"A vacation," said Snotlout simply. "We're going to take it easy and do some travelling. Right, Shanna."
Shanna smiled happily, hugging him. "Absolutely… Snotlout said we're going on an ale-teasing trip all over the continent."
"Seriously? Dragging my sister around so that you can get drunk as a vacation?" Fishlegs snapped.
"There's nothing wrong with that," Astrid chuckled. "Our work is done, and the continent is finally at peace. I think a trip like that is long overdue."
"Speaking of trips, what are you and Hiccup going to do?" Meliodas asked.
"Oh, we're planning on making up for lost time," Hiccup smiled as he wrapped one of his hands around her waist. "We're going out to see the world."
"That's so romantic," said Heather.
Ragnar nodded. "Makes me wish that the two of us were going on a similar sort of trip, but alas, we have actual duties to take care of."
"And we plan on going with them," said Toothless.
"I would prefer we had more time to ourselves, but I wouldn't say no to some travelling companions," said Luna.
Hiccup looked at them all. "While we may be parting ways, we can never truly forget the connections that we have made throughout our long journey. No matter what we do or where we are, one thing will remain the same, we are the Seven Deadly Sins and will always be friends."
"Yeah, we'll always be friends no matter what," Meliodas agreed. "I'm sure we'll meet again."
"We'll hold you to that," said Hiccup.
"And don't worry, we'll be back in time for your wedding," said Astrid.
With that, all of them took different paths and walked away, leaving Meliodas alone with Ruby.
"Well, everyone is headed out," said Meliodas placing his hands in his pockets.
"Now we're finally alone with one another after 3,000 years," said Ruby.
At the ruins of Xeovell, Skull was flying overhead trying to find survivors, but that seems rather unlikely given the devastation.
"I don't know what Ragnar is hoping for me to find," said Skull as he flew over the giant creature with a castle once stood. "There's not even a single trace of the kingdom."
Then suddenly, he saw movement and watched as Nanashi emerged from an underground passageway with a woman on his shoulder.
"Nanashi, you're alive?" said Skull as he flew down.
"I'll explain later; right now, I need a hand," he said.
Moments later, the two of them together managed to pull out all the survivors from the hidden bunker; they were unconscious but still very much alive.
"These people are lucky; without your healing magic, they would be dead by now," said Skull.
"True, but we weren't able to save them all," said Nanashi sadly.
"And how is that your fault?" Skull asked. "You did what you could, but I have to admit I'm surprised." His eyes turned to the scars on his exposed back. "Those scars on your back, therefrom wings, right? You used to be a part of the Angel Clan, didn't you, Nanashi."
"That was long ago, and now I am simply a wandering swordsman without a master."
Skull looked at him curiously. "When you say master, do you mean…"
"Look over there!" said Nanashi looking directly ahead of them.
"But that's…"
Gustav was now floating down towards them. "Nanashi!"
A year later, both Slader and Samson had taken down some bandits and a giant wild worm.
"It's so peaceful here," Samson noted. "Exterminating a wild worm, crushing a band of brigands… both tasks are now complete."
"Slader, aren't there any missions available that are more challenging?" Samson asked.
"Like what taking on Demons again?" Slader smirked.
"Well, maybe not that challenging, but still…"
"As long as I can do something to serve his Royal Highness, I wish for nothing more."
Samson smirked at him. "His Royal Highness? You mean the current King?" Slader immediately glared at him, which scared him to wit's end. "Sorry!"
"As far as I'm concerned, the only Royal Highness is King Topaz," said Slader matter-of-factly.
Samson chuckled. "Yeah, you said it."
At the castle, Ake was sparring with both Gabrielle and Ase at the same time.
"Is that all you got?" he said. "Come on, it's two-on-one right now! You're so slow above can land on you!"
With one powerful swing, he was able to push two of them back, but they then looked above his head.
"Not to follow your own words back, but…" said Gabrielle. "A bug has landed on you."
"Huh?" said Ake confused.
That bug was actually Orist, who, for some reason, decided to land on the top of Ake's head. Ake then quickly began swinging at him with his sword, really mistaking him for the bug.
"Hey, I'm no bug!" Orist yelled indignantly.
"Orist?" said Ase. "What are you doing here?"
Orist quickly flew up to her. "I've got a message for you, Ase."
He then whispered in her ear, causing her eyes to widen, and she dropped a sword. "Seriously? So Snotlout and Shanna are…" She then quickly looked at Ake. "But, Inquisitor, I've got to take care of something at the Fairy King's Forest! Excuse me! Let's go, Orist!"
"Right!"
The two of them dashed off, leaving behind a rather perplexed Gabrielle and an infuriated Ake.
"Wait! Hold on!" Ake yelled. "Take care of something?" Sadly Ase was already gone before he had a chance to call her back. "She shouldn't talk to the guy in charge like that."
"You allowing it makes you so wonderful," Gabrielle smiled.
"That's not funny!"
However, not everyone was quite enjoying this new era, as Deathpierce was now planning to leave the kingdom.
"Deathpierce!" Deldry cried.
"You quit?" said Adren, who had a massive growth spurt over the past year, shocked. "What will you do now?"
"I will return to my home in Edinburgh and help restore the kingdom," he said flatly.
"But that's… it's just so certain," said Deldry. "Something tells me that's not your only reason for leaving."
"I have no interest in serving Berk now that they have made a Demon and Angel the king and queen," he said, sounding disgusted. He hadn't forgotten that a Demon had killed his mentor and that Angels had manipulated them. "I will help build a country for humans and humans alone. This is goodbye!"
He then stormed off, leaving the rest of his team shocked.
"Hey, wait a minute!" Deldry.
Despite Deathpierce, everyone was quite happy with their new king and queen and were happier than Alvin and Calder. The two of them had decided, to everyone's surprise, to retire from the Dragon Knights.
Alvin had decided to open a potion Academy, and Calder was now a sword instructor. Calder was currently helping Alvin get set up at his new store.
"There, that's all of them," said Calder putting the last crate down.
"Excellent work, just as I expected from the kingdom's most prized sword instructor," Alvin smiled. "You did actually have to retire the Dragon knighthood, you know."
"That's rich coming from you, Alvin. I can't believe you're opening a potion academy. Granted, it suits you, I suppose."
"Honestly, I thought that I might go travel and see the world like Sir Hiccup and Lady Astrid, but I can't help but love this country. I just want to help the people here in whatever capacity I can."
The two of them then turned and looked at the Palace.
"The future of Berk seems bright, not only of the new king and queen well-loved and established, but the next ruler is as good as decided," said Calder.
"Don't forget the fine sword instructor that will help coach the next generation," Alvin added.
"And Alvin's potion Academy that'll serve the people, even if it loses money."
The two of them smiled, and it only took Alvin just a few seconds to realise what Calder had just said.
"Let's go home," said Calder and walked away before Alvin could say another word.
Perhaps even more surprising than Alvin's and Calder's new career choices was the fact that King Topaz and decided to run a toy shop. He was currently going through toys with his two daughters, Gilthunder and Gael, who were carrying everything.
"What you all think?" he asked, holding a toy soldier. "I have a feeling they'll love these."
"Father, please," said Sapphire.
"Calm down, will you," said Amber.
"Aww, it's certainly not nice to rob an old man of his fun," he said and looked at all of them. "So then, what do all of your plans to do in the near future?"
"Well, sire," said Gilthunder. "Honestly, we thought because we had been apart for so long…"
"…we were hoping to spend a little time alone together," said Sapphire clinging onto Gilthunder's shoulder.
"Ah, I see," said Topaz and looked at Amber and Gael. "What about you?"
"Uh, us too!" said Amber grasping Gael's thick arm. "We want a little more lovey-dovey alone time."
"Amber?" said Gael looking a little shocked.
"Excellent plans," said Topaz and continued to look through the toys. "Then I think I'll keep on looking for toys for my grandchild because it's so much fun."
"About that," said Amber approaching him. "They still don't know whether they'll have a boy or girl yet, so buying all these toys won't be very helpful for Ruby."
"But I already know, of course," said Topaz, much to Amber's confusion. "Thanks to the gift of my Vision."
Meanwhile the Fairy King's Forest, all the fairies were staring at Shanna in wonder.
"What are you doing?" Adava asked. "It's not polite to spy on them."
"Oh, but Lady Adava…"
"…we're curious. We want to know what's in that big belly."
"That would be a baby," said Tuffnut folding his arms.
"Yeah, just like me," said Ruffnut as she stepped forward, heavily pregnant.
Shanna was indeed heavily pregnant as well, much to her joy and Snotlout's.
"He moved again," Shanna smiled.
"Was it a punch or just a kick?" Snotlout asked.
"Oh, I don't really know for sure," she said honestly.
Adava smiled at both Shanna and Ruffnut. 'Never before has there been a child conceived by both human and a fairy, let alone two. Oh, brother, look at what a peaceful place this world has become.'
"It, although," said Shanna looking at Snotlout. "All of us fairy folk are born amongst the trees and flowers; the child you and I conceived is going inside of my body. That reminds me, what do you think we should name our child?"
Snotlout smiled. "I know, I've got one… How about Lancelot?"
Back at Berk, Ruby, too, was heavily pregnant.
"I'll never forget the looks on Zeldris' and Gelda's faces the last time they were here," Ruby giggled, picturing their expressions in her mind. "And how they said a child being born between Angel and a Demon is something that no one's ever heard of before. Granted, I'm only half human at the moment, so…"
She stopped when she noticed that Meliodas was thinking very hard. "Meliodas… still trying to figure out what to name the baby?"
Meliodas clapped his hands together.
"What is it?" Ruby asked curiously.
"That's it! And it's perfect!" Meliodas cried cheerfully. "How about Tristan?"
Ruby looked down at her pregnant belly and smiled as she rubbed it affectionately. "Tristan… I wish all the joy and happiness the world has to offer."
Meliodas then made his way to the window and looked outside. "And we'll make sure he gets it. I wonder what kind of future awaits him."
Ten years later, a young boy was running through the streets. He had two different icons; his right eye was blue while his left was green, and he had long red ruby-coloured hair.
Chasing after him was a soldier. "Prince Tristan, please slow down and wait for me!"
"Everyone, we got a situation, and it is really bad!" Tristan yelled frantically to a group of kids.
"What are you yelling about?" said a young boy. "What's going on?"
"What situation, Tristan?" a girl asked.
"It's terrible! I've uncovered an evil plot to undermine the country!" Tristan cried. "In fact, a minion of the bad guys on my tail because of it."
"Prince Tristan!" the guard chasing him yelled. "Where did he go?"
They poked the head of the alleyway and watched the guard walking past.
"Meaning of the bad guys? That's just one of the castle guards."
"Don't you get it? That's why he's a bad guy."
All of them looked at one another, not understanding where he got that theory from, considering that he actually lived in the castle.
"I'm telling you to calm down and listen to me closely," said Tristan, despite the fact that he was the only one of them freaking out. "Supposedly, the traitors, the Seven Deadly Sins, are going to be gathering somewhere in town tonight. I heard one of the gossipy maids of the castle whispering about it. These are the very same evil villains we have seen on those wanted posters; I'm telling you, they're probably forming some sinister plot to take over Berk. So is the Prince of this fair country, nee as a Dragon Knight and a protector of peace, I have an obligation to capture those fiends."
However, the other kids weren't exactly listening and were walking off.
"Let's go, guys."
"See you around, Tristan."
"Got to go; it's dinnertime."
"What? Are you kidding me?" Tristan yelled furiously. "What's more important, your dinner or the safety and peace of the kingdom?"
Clearly, they thought their dinner was more important as they were gone.
Later that afternoon, he made his way back to the castle after failing to convince anyone to help him.
"Argh, who needs them?" he said frustratingly. "I'll just capture them myself."
He then began to sneak into the castle, but then someone grasped his face from behind.
"Not so fast," said a sweet, beautiful voice. "Just where do you run off to?"
Tristan looked up and saw the face of his mother looking down at him. "Mother… I—"
"We've been looking everywhere for you," said Ruby. "You really are a bundle of energy."
Tristan then immediately backed away from her. "Everyone was looking for me, then those Deadly Sinners know about me!"
"Deadly Sinners?" Ruby frowned, confused. "Well, of course, they do."
'It can't be; those treasures villains found out that I know their secret!' he said, horrified and began to preach to his mother. "Mother, listen! The truth of the matter is I found information that father and those Seven Deadly Sinners are overthrowing the kingdom tonight!"
"Tristan, been looking everywhere for you," said a new voice.
Britain spun around and saw his father standing there and standing directly behind him with the Seven Deadly Sins.
"It's really them! The Seven Deadly Sins!" he panicked.
"Tristan, you're so cute," Heather beamed. "The best part of both your parents."
Ragnar chuckled. "You got that right."
"And he seems to be filled with energy," Fishlegs noted.
Astrid examined him closely. "And for a child, he has an impressive combat class."
"Considering that he's the son of the king and queen, that's not entirely surprising," said Hiccup.
Tristan then immediately somersaulted to put as much distance between him and them as possible.
"Look at him go; the little guy is as spirited as ever," said Snotlout.
"What's with you?" Meliodas asked. "You knew today was important, so why did you wander off?"
"Oh, I know everything!" Tristan yelled. "About how you and my father are all sinners that were exiled from the kingdom, and tonight you have all returned to the Kingdom of Berk to state some sort of coup d'état! Admitted!"
All of them were now fighting the urge to laugh.
Meliodas just smiled menacingly. "Wow, you've been busy. So you manage to figure it all out, huh? Well, now that you know our secret, we just can't let you leave here alive."
Tristan screamed and fell to his knees. "I knew it, so it's true. All of it. My father really is an evil villain."
"So I'm guessing you never told him the truth about us, have you?" Heather assumed.
"No way, doing it like this is way more fun," Meliodas smiled.
"Nice one, man. I should have done it like that, too," Snotlout snorted.
Hiccup shook his head. "Seriously, you guys act more like children than our children."
"Though admittedly, it was not completely inaccurate," Ragnar pointed out.
Tristan then immediately jumped at his father and began swinging his fists. "Prepare yourself, father! The great Dragon Knight Tristan shall punish you!"
Meliodas easily managed to block all his attacks. "Dragon Knight, huh? Since when are you one of those?"
"Oh, since right now! Seeing as punishing bad guys is what a Dragon Knight does!" he said and raised his fists. "Enough talk; let's do this!"
"What a funny pair," said Heather looking at Ruby.
"It is rather amusing to watch," Astrid admitted.
"I will not let you evil Seven Deadly Sins have Berk without a fight!" Tristan announced. "Now, let us all step outside and settle this matter fair and square!"
"Outside… sure, it's time to anyway," said Ruby.
"Right, she's got a good point," Meliodas nodded.
"Let's get moving then," said Hiccup.
Tristan was rather confused as everyone was making their way outside, in his mother grabbed his hand.
"Come on," she said, dragging him along with her.
"Move it move it move it, walk walk walk, out we go," said Meliodas.
"Huh? What's going on here?" Tristan asked, confused.
"Why we're celebrating your birthday, of course," said Hiccup.
Once they got outside greeted by fireworks that lit up the night sky.
"Fireworks?" Tristan blinked.
Meliodas looked back at him. "Tristan, we're going to take a nice stroll."
"Uh, okay," said Tristan, following him.
Once he reached the edge of the balcony, he saw a huge crowd of people cheering at him, his parents and the Seven Deadly Sins.
"Happy 10th birthday to you, Prince Tristan!"
"Congratulations and happy birthday!"
Meliodas waved at them. "Thanks, everyone; we appreciate it!"
"Tristan, we wanted to make your 10th birthday special," Ruby explained. "That is the reason why your father invited the Seven Deadly Sins and everyone else here today."
"I don't understand," said Tristan, still confused. "I thought father had teamed up with a group of evil villains."
Hiccup then approached and placed his hand gently on his shoulder. "Kid, can't you see that's not true just by looking? If it really was an evil villain, do you think everyone would admire him so much?"
Tristan looked down at everyone that was cheering as they looked up at his father, but he still refused to believe it.
"Nothing you say will ever change my mind!" he yelled stubbornly. "You can't fool me! For starters, he's almost as short as me, and his irresponsible, and he's a big drinker! And he's weirdly obsessed with mother's boobs! Even I stopped drinking from them ages ago!"
Everyone groaned.
Meliodas then looked at his son. "Oh yeah, and by the way, what do you want for the gift Tristan?"
"A legendary sword!" he said instantly.
"No can do."
"Aww," said Tristan looking disappointed.
Ragnar then lowered himself to Tristan. "Tristan, if you allow it, both me and Skull have a wonderful present for you."
"You do?" Tristan blinked.
"Indeed, just merely looking into Skull's eyes, and you will see the true story of the Seven Deadly Sins," Ragnar instructed.
Tristan looked at Skull, and immediately his mind was filled with memories that were not his own. They were a complete combination of all of the Seven Deadly Sins that show the journey from start to finish.
He watched everything from their battle within Berk to their battles against the Ten Commandments. He watched them battle against the Demon King and Eret's sacrifice, but most importantly, he bore witness to the love story that belonged to his father and mother.
After seeing that, he didn't know what to say as tears ran down his cheeks.
The next day, Tristan and his parents went outside to have a picnic in the countryside. While his mother was busy setting up the picnic, he was sparring with his father.
"I just can't believe you actually thought your own father could actually be some kind of evil villain," said Meliodas blocking his swings with a stick.
"It's your fault for not telling me! I didn't do anything wrong!"
"Come on, you too! It's lunchtime!" Ruby called.
"Coming!" they both yelled at the same time.
"Saying how you process things makes me wonder what kind of adult you'll grow up to be," said Meliodas as they made their way to the picnic table.
"I'm just a kid, I'm still learning, and no one knows the future," Tristan pointed out.
"Yeah, you're right. Maybe I should wording another way; I'm trying to say your future is ever expanding just like that sky."
"I suppose, but either way, I still have to become the King, right?"
"You don't have to; you can be something else if you want."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously," Meliodas grinned. "You can even become a Dragon Knight."
"Hmm, then I already know what I want to be," said Tristan and grabbed his father's hand. "The Seven Deadly Sins!"
