There exist two different worlds; Skylands and Equestria. Both lands were different, yet at the same time very much the same.
Creatures of magic, forces of darkness, and exciting discoveries, there existed plentiful in both of these worlds. Yet neither had met the other until one fateful day...
In Canterlot, the capital city of Equestria, a beautiful woman with dark blue skin, pony-like ears, a sharp horn protruding from her forehead, flowing blue hair with shimmering stars, and a tail protruding from her backside of the same color, was gazing at the stars in the night sky. Her name was Princess Luna, one of the two rulers of Equestria and the one who oversaw the night and dreams of Equestria's denizens.
As she was simply lost in her thoughts, she felt an itch of uneasy magic. She gazed up and saw a group of stars assemble into eight symbols.
"Strange...what manner of foreign magic is this?" The Princess of the Night pondered before going to the chambers of her sister, Princess Celestia, where she found her asleep in her bed.
Shaking the older princess awake, Luna stepped back as Celestia rose from her slumber. Her flowing regal blue, green, and pink hair that sparkled with morning dew and her porcelain snow-white skin showed off her regal beauty well.
"Luna? What has gotten into you?" The Princess of the Sun questioned, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"I need you to come and see something, Tia. Some strange magic is causing the stars to move out of my control."
Celestia put on some robes to preserve her modesty before following Luna to the balcony. The two gazed up at the night sky where Luna saw the anomaly occur and both saw it.
The stars had all clustered together into eight symbols; a water drop, a flame, a skull, a gear, a leaf, a stone, a swirl, and most curious of all, a star that resembled the Cutie Mark of Celestia's faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.
"Strange...why would these symbols form in the sky...and for that matter, why is one of them Twilight's Cutie Mark?" Celestia pondered.
Suddenly, all eight symbols started to glow in different colors and each of them shot a beam toward Ponyville, Cloudsdale, Sweet Apple Acres, Everfree Forest, and Canterlot itself. Once the beams were in the vicinity of their destinations, they separated into four smaller beams.
The star that resembled Twilight's Cutie Mark fired a purple beam toward Ponyville, the gear fired a yellow beam toward Ponyville and Sweet Apple Acres, the skull fired a grey beam toward Ponyville, the water drop fired a blue beam toward the streams near Everfree Forest, the flame launched a red Beam toward Canterlot's mountainside, the leaf fired a green beam towards the Everfree Forest, the swirl fired a white beam towards Cloudsdale, and finally, the stone fired a brown beam towards an area between Sweet Apple Acres and the Everfree Forest and separated into four.
The eight symbols soon formed a circle and faded away into the night, leaving the princesses feeling uneasy about the events that transpired.
"What does this mean, sister?" Luna asked after a long silence.
"I don't know...but I seem to recall reading about something like this..." Celestia said. "We must check the Starswirl the Bearded wing. Perhaps that will have the answers we seek."
Meanwhile, in the peaceful little rural town of Ponyville, sleeping in her bedroom was Princess Celestia's faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. The lavender-skinned unicorn girl was snoring loudly before a clattering awoke her. Groaning and rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she got out of bed, put on a night robe, and went to see what the commotion was about.
"Ugh, Spike, are you getting another midnight snack again?" Twilight asked before noticing a tall slender figure looking at itself nervously.
Curiously, Twilight's horn lit up, illuminating the darkness to see Spike...except he wasn't the cute little baby dragon she remembered.
He was now taller and more mature-looking while still having a childish look to him. From his body posture, he seemed to be more like a teenager now but all in all, he still looked the same.
"Spike, What happened to you?"
"I-I don't know! I just woke up to get a drink of water and then I felt funny. Next thing I know, I've grown taller! Oh man, am I becoming a giant greedy dragon again?" Spike panicked, his voice still sounding youthful and boyish.
"Easy, Spike. You're not hoarding stuff so we can safely rule that out." Twilight said, reassuring the young dragon boy.
"Yeah, that's true..." Spike sighed, feeling a little relieved before noticing something. "Hey, have those two always been there?"
Twilight turned to see two dragons laying unconscious on the floor. How she had missed them was anypony's guess. Unlike Spike, these dragons seemed to be more quadrupedal. One had dark purple scales, yellow horns, and a yellow underbelly while the other was female and had black scales, a scarlet underbelly, and silver horns.
"Something tells me they might have the answers to your growth spurt, Spike."
Elsewhere in Ponyville was the Carousel Boutique, the home and occupation of Twilight and Spike's friend, Rarity. Currently, the marshmallow white unicorn girl was in bed with a sleep mask over her eyes when she felt something poking her. Moaning and sitting up, she took off her mask to see her little sister, Sweetie Belle.
"Sweetie Belle, darling, do you have any idea what time it is?"
"Because I heard a thump just now! I went downstairs to see what it was and I saw monsters in the kitchen!"
Rarity frowned. On the one hand, her sister probably was just seeing things, but on the other hand, Ponyville was no stranger to bizarre and potentially dangerous situations.
"Alright, let's see what these monsters could possibly be."
The two sisters headed downstairs to the kitchen, where they saw two tall shadowy figures in the darkness. Rarity gasped as she realized that her sister was telling the truth and illuminated her horn with pale blue energy, lighting up the room in the process.
The two figures were exposed. The first seemed to be a tall skeleton knight with a broad-shouldered frame, holstered on his back was a saber and a shield. Next to him was a beautiful-looking woman with pale blue skin, hollow white eyes, a black horned headdress, and a black gown. Neither of them appeared to be Equestrian so Rarity was still on guard.
"Who are you? And what are you doing invading my house, scaring my little sister, and wearing such ghastly attire?!"
The skeleton knight tripped over himself as the woman arched an eyebrow in confusion.
"We mean no harm, ma'am! We are Skylanders and we have come seeking an audience with the one known as Twilight Sparkle!" The skeleton knight said hastily.
"What could you possibly want with Twilight?" Rarity asked, skeptical of these strange beings wishing to meet her friend.
"She and the one known as Spike are connected to something really important from where we come from. It is imperative we see them and explain the circumstances of our arrival." The woman said.
"Forgive us, we haven't introduced ourselves. I am Chop Chop and this is Hex." The skeleton knight introduced himself and his companion. "Terribly sorry if we came across as intruders."
"Well, I don't exactly know what your goal is with Twilight, but I suppose I can forgive you." Rarity huffed. "But you'll have to wait until morning. I still need my beauty rest, after all."
In Cloudsdale, another of Twilight's friends, Rainbow Dash, was sound asleep, snoring loudly and sprawled on her bed. The rainbow-haired, light blue-skinned pegasus girl was dreaming what she usually dreamed about; flying with the Wonderbolts, the best flyers in all of Equestria.
Suddenly, a rattle awoke her as she groaned and flipped off of her bed, getting to her feet and stumbling to see what the commotion was, only to find an egg there.
"What the heck? Is that...a Griffin Egg?"
Suddenly, the egg shook and with a POP, a tiny baby Griffin came out. It began waddling around, calling out for somebody before the eggshell closed itself back around it again.
"Uh...what's going on here?"
Picking up the egg, Rainbow Dash looked around for any sign of who could be the mother, only to hear a distressed voice calling out.
"Whirlwind, where's Peaky?"
"He couldn't have gotten far, Sonic Boom."
Rainbow then saw a surprising sight; a black feathered Griffon with a silver headdress who appeared to be more quadrupedal than the Griffins of Equestria. Also accompanying her was a quadrupedal light blue dragon who seemed to have pegasus wings and a unicorn horn.
"Uh, is this yours?" Rainbow awkwardly asked the two as she showed the egg in her hands. The Griffin let out a sigh of relief as she came over and took the egg from her gratefully.
"Yes, that's Peaky. Thank you."
"No problem. Now I got a question to ask; like who the heck are you two and what are you doing in my house?" Rainbow asked with her hands on her hips.
"Forgive us, I'm Whirlwind and this is Sonic Boom." The Dragon-Alicorn Hybrid said. "We've come here looking to speak with the one known as Twilight Sparkle."
"Twilight? What do you want with her?"
"Something very important that can decide the connection between this world and our own." Sonic Boom clarified.
The morning soon came and Twilight and Spike woke up to see the two strange dragons still asleep. Not wanting them to be cold, the two had put blankets on them before going back to sleep themselves.
"You think they'll wake up?" Spike asked.
"Probably. They are still breathing, after all." Twilight noted.
Suddenly, a pink blur burst into the room, slamming open the front door as Twilight and Spike jumped before recognizing it was just their friend, Pinkie Pie. However, she was carrying a strange creature they had never seen before; a blue grub-like creature with big round green eyes.
"Twilight, I want you to meet my new friend Wrecking Ball! He's so cute, and he's blue!"
"Hi!" The grub known as Wrecking Ball greeted in a squeaky voice before something began moving in his mouth, which he spat out to reveal a dragonfly with a humanoid upper body, face, and arms.
"Okay, next time we go on another mission outside of Skylands, I'm going with Spyro!" The dragonfly grumbled, shaking off the saliva on him before seeing the two dragons asleep and flying over to them in worry. "Spyro! Cynder!"
As if reacting to the dragonfly's voice, the two dragons began to stir before getting up and shaking their heads, opening their eyes to see their surroundings before noticing the dragonfly.
"Sparx, you made it!" The purple dragon said with a smile.
The dragonfly smiled. "Hey, I wouldn't go anywhere without my dragon brother, would I?"
"Uh, nice to see such a heartwarming reunion but...WHAT IS GOING ON?!" Twilight said, having enough of not knowing what was going on.
"Oh, sorry about that..." The purple dragon known as Spyro said sheepishly. "Listen, we're Skylanders and we came here to talk with you. After all, you're the Skylanders who were born on the Day of the Rainbow."
"Day of the Rainbow..." Spike pondered. "You mean the Sonic Rainboom where I was hatched?"
"My evaluation into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns!" Twilight realized. "Are you talking about that?"
The black female dragon known as Cynder nodded. "That is exactly what we are referring to. The symbol you possess..."
"Oh, my Cutie Mark?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, it is also the symbol of the Element of Magic. We don't exactly know the full details, but your magic seemed to leak into our world of Skylands, which caused you and the young dragon beside you to become connected to its magic, effectively becoming Skylanders."
"Wow, this is oddly specific," Spike said, rubbing the back of his head. "Does that also have anything to do with me going through this growth spurt NOT motivated by greed?"
"Well, you ARE different from the dragons in our world. Maybe the latent magic awakened in you and helped you mature to your proper age." Spyro guessed.
"Hey! What about me? I'd like to know more about all this so I can throw a 'Welcome to Ponyville' Party for you all!" Pinkie Pie said, having been ignored until now.
"Ooh, a party sounds nice!" Wrecking Ball smiled.
"Excuse me, is this the home of Twilight Sparkle?"
Everyone turned to see Chop Chop and Hex there, along with Rarity. Spike yelped and hid behind Twilight in embarrassment, not wanting the girl he had a crush on to see him in his new form so suddenly.
Spyro smiled. "Chop, Hex, how did you guys find us?"
"Ms. Rarity led us to the library. I see you were lucky in finding Twilight Sparkle and Spike." Chop Chop explained.
"From what we can gather, we fell unconscious when we crashed into their house. Despite not knowing us, they kept us sheltered and safe for the night." Cynder said.
"Twilight, is that Spike?" Rarity asked, noticing the dragon boy, who panicked and tried to curl into himself to become invisible and failed miserably.
"Yeah. He...had a bit of a magic growth spurt." Twilight awkwardly explained.
"Well, I must say, he still looks absolutely adorable. And so dashing as well!" Rarity giggled, making Spike's cheeks glow red as he covered his face with his claws.
All of a sudden, Rainbow Dash flew through the window, doing a flip in mid-air before landing on her feet. Rubbing her nose proudly, she then turned to the window to see Sonic Boom and Whirlwind fly in after her.
"Hey, Twilight! These guys wanted to see ya!"
"I'm well aware, Rainbow Dash," Twilight said before turning to Spyro. "Are those two also Skylanders?"
"Yup, that's Whirlwind and Sonic Boom." Spyro smiled.
Suddenly, Spike's cheeks bulged and he belched out a message, thumping his chest to recover from it as Twilight picked up the message and read it.
To my faithful student, Twilight Sparkle,
Last night, Luna spotted eight symbols in the night sky, one of them resembling your Cutie Mark. We also saw them send strange beams throughout both Ponyville and Canterlot. I need you and your friends to come to Canterlot, so we can discuss the events of last night. A chariot will come in a few hours.
Your Mentor, Princess Celestia.

"Is Princess Celestia your ruler?" Chop Chop asked.
Twilight smiled and nodded. "She and Princess Luna rule over all of Equestria. She's also my mentor!"
"She's also kinda like a second mom to Twilight. Not that Twilight'll admit that to anypony." Spike said as Twilight flushed and gave her little brother/son/whatever a glare.
"Guess the Welcome to Ponyville Party will have to wait! We're going to Canterlot!" Pinkie Pie cheered before realizing something. "Although, I guess I could change it to a Welcome to Equestria Party, instead!"
"Well, we've been cordially invited, might as well make ourselves known," Hex said.
"We should find the rest of the gang first. It's clear most of them arrived here." Spyro pointed out.
"We should also make sure Ben arrived with us as well," Cynder said.
"Ben? Who's that?" Rarity asked.
"He's our Portal Master. He's also the son of our master Eon!" Wrecking Ball explained.
"You'll know him when you see him." Chop Chop said.
Earlier, back at Canterlot, the Royal Sisters had arrived at the Starswirl the Bearded wing and had been pouring through all of their old mentor and father figures' research notes throughout the night.
"Tia, I think I've finally found something!" Luna said as Celestia came over to see her sister holding a dusty old tome that looked like it hadn't been taken out in centuries.
Opening it up, the sisters scrolled through the pages until they finally found something relating to the situation they were currently dealing with.
While gazing at the night sky, I spotted multiple stars in a formation, that made me wonder. As a gazed, I felt myself being pulled into the unknown. When I woke up, I was in a magical world surrounded by floating Isles. The inhabitants of this world call it, 'Skylands'. I met a human man named Eon, who was in charge of guiding special defenders known as Skylanders. I learned so many things during my stay but I knew I had to return home. Eon created a portal to take me back to Equestria but gave me some parting words that the Skylanders would soon come to Equestria when the time was right. "When the Symbols are Here, The Skylanders will Appear".
"Intriguing. Starswirl did mention to us when we were little about how he wound up in another world that was not unlike Equestria." Luna said. "Could these Skylanders be here now?"
Celestia nodded. "It seems we will need to inform Twilight about this post-haste. Send a note to her immediately!"
Luna nodded and headed off to write a note to send to Ponyville. As Celestia looked out the window at the morning sun, which she had taken the time to raise beforehand during her and Luna's search, she noticed a strange comet flying through the air...and saw that it was heading straight for her.
Yelping, the Princess of the Sun jumped to the side as the comet flew past her, screaming in a male voice as it crashed through the shelves and into the wall. Wincing in sympathy, Celestia ran over to see who it was that crashed into the Starswirl the Bearded wing, and what she saw shocked her.
It was a human, a flesh and blood human, a creature that hadn't been seen in Equestria in several millennia. He was clad in armor befitting a knight which had a crystalline theme to it. He had pale skin and messy unkempt black hair, and when he opened his eyes, Celestia saw they were the color of rich hazelnut.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch..." The human boy groaned as he slowly lifted himself up with effort, clearly in a good deal of pain.
"Are you okay?" Celestia asked. "You're not injured are you?"
"No, no, I'm fine. Sorry for crashing into your home, lady..." The boy trailed off when he looked at Celestia. The Princess of the Day could clearly guess he was entranced by her beauty as most creatures often were.
"It's quite alright. Now, I believe you must be one of the Skylanders mentioned in the book my sister and I just read?" Celestia guessed.
"Um, close, I'm actually a Portal Master and I came here after my friends..." The boy awkwardly explained, his cheeks pink. "I'm Ben, by the way."
"Celestia, Princess Celestia." Celestia smiled. "Now come, I believe we have much to tell each other."
Yeah, this is basically an Anthro Equestria. Don't judge or hate.
