Chapter 15: Dean

It was almost eleven when Nate slipped out of the dorm and started down to the side exit. It was a drop down the ladder a few feet to the ground, but he didn't mind. It wasn't too hard to get in and out. He clambered down and managed to dust himself off before heading toward the line of vehicles from earlier. He knew he wanted to talk more with Dean; he just needed to find St. Bernard...

Nate continued to look for Dean, looking through the windows to see if he was in one of them. "You looking for something stranger?" A familiar voice called from behind him. Nate turned around to see Dean standing there with a smug smile with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Hey!" Nate said a little too loudly before swallowing. "Um, sorry, I just realized I never got your name earlier. I guess you heard mine was Nate. What's yours?"

"Dean, Dean Timeo Saint Bernard." Dean replied, still smiling as he stuck his hand out for Nate to shake.

"Nice to meet you, I..." Nate exhaled, steeling himself. "I'll be honest, you're really... really hot and I know I shouldn't judge based just on looks, even if you are a total hunk. So, like, what are you into-aside from surviving the zed apocalypse?"

Dean chuckled a bit before taking a deep breath, "Well aside from surviving, I like to make sure cute guys don't get their head blown off." He replied before looking to the side. Nate looked and saw in the distance a glimmer of light reflecting off of what he now realized was the scope of a rifle. Nate swallowed hard before looking back at Dean who nodded his head in an upward motion before Nate looked back and saw the glare disappear. "You have to be really careful around here, you're lucky it was me who found you." Dean said, turning his attention back to the Brown and White Border Collie.

Nate blushed, "Sorry, I guess I shouldn't have been sneaking around."

"Yeah, that wasn't the brightest idea." Dean said with a smirk, "But I'll forgive you because you're handsome."

Nate blushed, clearing his throat. "So, um, now that neither of us is in immediate danger of death, what are you into?"

"I like to kick back, relax, and look up at the sky... day or night; it doesn't matter to me as long as I can look up and watch the clouds or the stars..." Dean replied as he looked up at the sky.

"That's pretty cool. I used to like looking up at the sky in my old life, but to be honest I haven't in forever..." Nate said.

"Well, I happen to know a good place, if you want to look at it with me..." Dean said.

Nate blushed, "Um, yeah, sure, I wouldn't mind."

Dean then walked close to close until their chests touched and their mouths inches from each other. "Then follow me..." Dean whispered seductively with his thumb on Nate's chin.

He led the collie up and over a few boxes and into a private area. It was clear that this was where Dean normally lived when his group set up camp. "Here we are, home sweet home. I know it's not much, but you gotta take what you can get and it's better than nothing." Dean replied, shrugging his shoulders before collapsing on an old mattress. "Care to join me?" He asked scooting over for enough space for Nate.

"Yeah, I'd love to." Nate said with a smile, his heart racing. He sat beside the larger dog and soon felt his heavy paw on his shoulder.

"If you want we could cuddle. I haven't had someone to be with for a while, and I kind of miss it." Dean said, looking away, "But if not, I totally respect that."

Nate swallowed a lump in his throat before taking a deep breath, "There is something, I need to tell you..." he said.

Dean raised an eyebrow, "Oh boy, this must be something really important." Dean replied, sitting up on the mattress.

"I'm… not exactly a great 'cuddle buddy'." He said with hesitation.

"Well, that's alright. I don't mind." Dean said with a gentle smile.

Nate sighed, "No, look…" he fiddled with his hands. "I'm, really not… not all there." He grit his teeth as he felt tears start to sting the corners of his eyes, "I, I'm not really a man. Not anymore." He lifted his fur to reveal his lack of appendage.

"Fuck..." Dean replied, sucking air through his teeth, "How did that happen? If you don't ask me asking..." he asked looking up and into the Brown and White Border Collie's eyes.

"It… my step brother. He was the one. We had a bit of a falling out because I refused to do something truly heinous and so he decided to do this to 'teach me a lesson.' My new mum, Trixie saved my life that night when she saw me pass out outside of camp and she made sure I was alive. Now I'm okay, I can still pee and everything, but I don't have one. I'm sorry; I know no one would ever want to be with a freak like me."

Dean then got up and marched over to Nate before grabbing his shoulders, "Hey, you are not a freak! You sacrificed a part of yourself and stood up to your step brother knowing what was right and wrong..." Dean explained looking into Nate's eyes. "That was pretty admirable if you ask me." He said with a smile. "If it helps... there are other ways to have 'fun' without one..." Dean said, pulling Nate close to his chest.

Nate smiled, "Thanks. I guess I never thought of it that way." He paused, "Well, I was known for being pretty good with other parts…" he looked at his backside and lifted his tail up, revealing his rear.

"Well... why don't you show me?" Dean asked with a smile as he lifted Nate and carried him to the mattress before resting on it with Nate on top of his stomach. "Are you ready?" He asked, looking at the Brown and White Border Collie.

"Well, it might help if I had some lubrication…" Nate said, looking down at the considerable challenge ahead.

"Oh, yeah, shit…" Dean flushed, grabbing a bottle from beside the bed. "Um, this is sort of aloe vera lotion stuff. You think this'll work?"

"Better than nothing." Nate said as he helped Dean apply it. After a moment both were ready.

"You let me know if I hurt you okay? I'm kind of bigger than you." Dean said as gazed into Nate's eyes.

"I will." Nate nodded, then inhaled as he felt the love begin.

Meanwhile… back at the castle some of the others were having a late night conversation of their own. Bandit, Chilli, Rad, and Frisky were all up, having to tend to various young children.

"Is everybody okay on your end Frisky?" Rad asked his wife as she tended to one of their children while holding the other close to his chest.

"Mary's okay. She's just fussing about something. Probably because Chris is fussing." She replied with a slight sigh, "You two are lucky, I swear these two are telepathically linked. Whenever one is off, the other immediately goes off as well."

Bandit lightly chuckled as he walked around with his and Chilli's son. "Trust me; it's never easy the first time around. It's not easy trying to raise Bluey and this little guy while Chilli is pregnant." He explained as he gently rocked Lee in his arms. "But I gotta do it to help her until she gives birth and has fully recovered."

"Hey! I am right here." Chilli said with a huff, trying to stand up to take Lee.

"Ah! No, you're not even supposed to be here, you should be getting your rest." He said, knowing she was too stubborn to not help.

"Come on Chilli, listen to Bandit." Rad chimed in before walking over and getting in between his brother and sister-in-law.

"I am… fine!" She grunted.

"Chilli, you're 8 months pregnant! Right now all you should be is resting." Frisky said.

"Thank you Frisky." Bandit said, turning to his older brother's wife before looking back at Chilli. "Babe, you know I'm just trying to look out for you and our new little member to our pack." Bandit explained.

"Well, I am perfectly fine, thank you very much." Chilli remarked. "I handled being pregnant with Lee during this whole mess, and now it is much easier than it was then."

Bandit then placed a hand on his wife's shoulder before staring directly into her eyes as he held Lee close to his chest with his other hand. "Babe please... I know you're capable of anything, but I don't want you to put any stress on you and the baby... so please Chilli, my love... please go back to bed, if not for me or you... then do it for the baby."

She sighed, "Okay, but just this once. I can take care of my child."

"Yes, we know." Bandit smiled.

Chilli then felt his in her cheek as he continued to look into her eyes, "You've been an amazing wife and mother. I'm the luckiest dog in the world to have a woman in my life."

She smiled, "Aw, Bandy…" she turned and kissed him slightly on the muzzle. "I love you, and I'm lucky to have you too."

"I really hope this birth goes smoother for you then when you had Lee." Bandit said, swallowing nervously.

"Well, we have a better room and Wendy and Trixie have trained for it, so if nothing else it'll happen." Chilli sighed.

Bandit then took a deep breath and sighed heavily. "Chilli... I understand if you want this to be the last kid we have." He said caressing her cheek with his thumb.

"Well, given this is number 4, I think I'm fine with that too." She smirked. "Now on you're either wearing a franger or using the back door."

Bandit blushed heavily as his eyes glanced over at Rad and Frisky before looking back at his wife, nodding his head in agreement. "I understand, but I promise to look for lube next time I go scouting." He said leaning in and whispering into her ear.

"Good, because I still need my man." She smiled, placing a hand on his chest.

Bandit smiled as his tail wagged, "And I still need my girl" He said as Chilli felt a pinch on her backside.

"Get a room!" Rad yelled over at the couple.

Bandit, Chilli, and Frisky then hushed and glared at him as they all looked down at their babies.

"Really, Rad?" Frisky asked, shaking her head as Mary started crying. Soon Chris followed and Lee joined.

"Okay, sorry, I may have been a bit of a drongo there…" he admitted.

"Mum? Dad?" A voice called out as all the adults turned to see Bluey standing in the doorway rubbing her eye. "Are the babies okay? Why are the babies all crying?" Bluey asked.

"Your uncle woke them up." Bandit explained, shooting a look at Rad.

"Do you want me to help them get back to sleep?"

"No sweetheart, come on let's get you back to bed." Chilli said, walking over to her daughter.

"Okay... can I give Lee, Mary, and Chris a kiss before I go back to bed?" Bluey asked, looking up at her mother.

"Okay dear." She smiled. Bluey walked over to her little brother first. "Goodnight Lee." She pecked him on the forehead. She then walked over to her cousins, "Goodnight Mary, goodnight Chris." She kissed each of them. "It'll be okay, because you have the best mums and dads ever..." Bluey gently patted Chris and then Mary's head. "And we all love you very much and we promise we'll take very good care of you." She said looking at her little brother and little cousins with a small smile.

Rad and Frisky smiled as did her parents, "Come on Bluey; let me walk you back to bed." Chilli handed Lee to Bandit before she walked her daughter back to the girls' room.

"I'm really sorry Bandit..." Rad whispered as all the babies calmed down and began to fall back asleep. "I didn't mean to wake up the little ankle biters."

"We know you didn't, but still, just be considerate of the situation, eh mate?"

Rad nodded before rocking Chris a little more and placing her in her and her sister's crib. He then walked over to his wife and took Mary into his arms before kissing Frisky on her forehead. "I'm sorry too babe..." he said looking into the British Cocker Spaniel's eyes.

"It's okay, I love you anyway babe." She smiled.

"I'll always love you Frisky Heeler... you and our little girl and boy." Rad said before walking over to Chris and Mary's crib and placing Mary with her brother. He smiled as he watched his and Frisky's daughter sleep peacefully.

"They're beautiful." He smiled. "Just like their mum."

He walked back over to his wife and pulled her into a kiss, "Get a room, mate!" They heard Bandit whisper to them.

"Hey…" Rad whispered, flipping off his brother.

"Name the time and place." Bandit whispered with a wink before chuckling quietly.

"I can still kick your ass." Rad whispered.

"Ooo, I love when you talk dirty." Bandit replied in a whisper.

"Boys, come on." Frisky rolled her eyes. "We both know Stripe would beat both of you."

"The fuck he could!" Rad yelled in a hushed tone, "I remember having to have his and Bandit's ass so many times when we were kids!"

"Yes, but he's got that dad strength now. Unlike you, he's been working hard to stay in shape. Now that he doesn't have anything else to do."

Rad's eyes widened before looking down at his stomach and grabbed it, "I'm not that fat am I?" He asked looking back up at Bandit and then Frisky.

"You're asking the wrong dog." Bandit grabbed his torso, "But you do seem to have the dad bod."

Rad looked back down at his stomach before quietly sighing and walking out of the room. Leaving Frisky and Bandit alone in the Nursery.

"So, are you two ever thinking about having any others?" Bandit asked Frisky.

"Well... to be honest, I think I'm okay with just having Mary and Chris." Frisky explained whispering as she walked back over to her brother in law.

"Good on ya. But if ya ever do have another, you're a great mum and I'm sure they'll be great kids." Bandit smiled.

"Thanks Bandit, and Lee and this new baby will be lucky to have you as their parents." Frisky said before kissing him on the cheek.

"Thanks." He blushed.

"You think Stripe and Trix will ever try again?" Frisky asked.

"I don't know, to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. Losing Socks really hurt her and Stripe, just like Bingo killed me and Chilli..." Bandit explained as he looked down at Lee, "I wish he could have gotten to know Bingo..." he said in a saddened tone before gently kissing his son on his forehead.

"I'm sure he would've loved her." Frisky said with a sad smile.

"I hope you and Rad never experience what me, Chilli, Stripe, and Trixie went through... because this is a hell I wouldn't wish on anyone..." he said looking up at her.

"I can't imagine what it's like. But we're all here. We still have each other." She said.

"And that's why we need to all stick together and make sure we don't lose anymore members of our group." Bandit said before placing his son in his crib.

"And with the vaccine, we should be able to actually stay safe. Well, provided it works in the long run." Frisky stated.

"We'll be ready no matter what." Bandit replied agreeing with his younger sister in law.

Meanwhile, Stripe was finishing up in the gym as Trixie entered. She smiled at the sight of her husband's glistening body.

"Hey Trix." Stripe said as he pulled himself up on the bar, "I'm almost done here." He said with a grunt.

She smiled, "No worries. I don't mind the show."

He blushed slightly as he dropped down.

He walked over to his wife before smacking his wife on her backside, the sound echoing through the empty gymnasium.

"Stripe Benjamin Heeler!" She taunted, "You naughty boy!"

Stripe smirked before picking her up and holding her with both his hands on her bum. "How's my girl doing?" He said looking up at her.

"I'm doing pretty well." She said, "I could use a little attention, but otherwise I'm doing well."

Stripe smiled before putting her down and looking into her eyes, "Are you sure Trix? We haven't rooted since... before Socks died." He said with his ears folded back.

"Well, I think I'm ready to try again." she exhaled, "If you're okay with it?"

"Okay, do you want me to get a franger?" Stripe asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No, if it happens it happens." She said, getting closer to him, "Besides I want to feel you all the way inside me."

As Trixie ran her hand up his chest, she could heart beating rapidly. She looked up at her husband to see him breathing heavily. "T-Trix, I-I don't know if I can ever have another kid... I love you, but..." Stripe trailed off with tears in his eyes, "I already lost Socks... if something happens to you or the baby? I... can't go through that pain again..."

"I can't promise it won't happen again, but I will say this: would bringing another child into our lives be a bad thing? We're safer and stabler now, and we could bring even more love into our lives."

"B-But Trix... you almost left me after we lost Socks. I can't lose you or Muffy..."Stripe said as tears began to roll down his cheeks. "Please Trixie... I love you both so much..."

"I know, and that was a terrible mistake. I want you to be my one and only, and I love you so much! I just want to make more of that love with you!" Trixie said.

"I... I..." Stripe said hesitantly to answer before Trixie began to kiss him slowly and passionately.

He leaned in and embraced her, after a moment he felt his manhood starting to come to life as he held his wife. "Trix..." he said as they gazed into each other's eyes, "I love you so much... Trixie..." Stripe said both hands on her face before kissing her neck. "You're the only girl I want in my life forever."

"And you're the only boy I ever want in mine." She smiled as she held him. "And it doesn't hurt that you're my big, strong, sweaty man…"

"I say the same about being my curvaceous, beautiful, and sexy woman..." he said as his hands trailed down to her rear. "God, I love this ass..." he said, gritting his teeth.

"And I love you. You're my perfect man and I love you, Stripe."

"I love you too Trixie Anna Heeler, you're the perfect woman for me." Stripe said picking up his wife and carrying her to their bedroom.

Needless to say it was a busy night.

In the morning two dogs woke up in each other's arms. Nate rolled over to see Dean smiling at him. "Hey, good morning." The St. Bernard whispered.

"Morning." Nate smiled.

"That was a really nice time. Thanks for being my 'cuddle buddy'…" Dean said.

"Well, you were a true gentleman, and a considerate partner." Nate replied.

"So, I guess you're going later today, huh?" Nate asked.

"Yeah, I have to stay with my group…" Dean sighed.

"Well, I guess it was nice to be with you, even if it's only this once." The collie sighed.

"Well, maybe not just this one time…" The larger dog grinned.

"What?"

"Well, my group is supposed to go north for a bit then return back to Burketown. We do a big loop. I should be at the Heeler camp every few weeks." He explained.

Nate's tail wagged as he leaned into his larger partner's chest. "I'm counting down the days until you come back."

Dean smiled, "Me too."

A few hours later, after the two got cleaned up, the caravan was packed and ready to go.

"Well, I guess I'll see you soon." Nate said with a smile.

"Yeah, I can't wait to see my new boyfriend again." Dean said with a wink.

Nate immediately blushed, "Boyfriend, oh, um, yes. Yes!" He stammered.

Dean kissed him one last time before heading back to the caravan. Nate waved as the motor began and the line of vehicles slowly disappeared over the horizon.

Stripe walked over to his son, "So, I take it you had a good night?"

"I did." Nate smiled. "Did you?"

"Yes, yes I did." Stripe smiled, holding his son as they looked over the horizon at the clear blue sky.
