Authors Note: This is the final chapter. I hope that every question you may have will be answered. The story wasn´t as long as I had initially hoped it would be, but I figured: I rather end this story the best way I can than leave it and frustrate other readers. So, therefore, I´ve wrapped this story up and hope you enjoyed it nonetheless. Thank you for reading this. Thank you for giving me your precious time and thank you for sticking with it until the end. It means a lot to me.
An Interesting Means To An End
A couple of days later, Edward and I sat in front of a fireplace. It snowed outside, and a large tree was decorated inside with lights, baubles and strings of silver hairs. We wore a matching pyjama set that Alice had gifted us because that´s what you wear on a day like today. It was finally Christmas eve, and today marked the day I would get my memories back.
Jacob shouted something from outside. He was hunting with the rest of the Cullens, and Edward and I had a quiet moment for ourselves. It was necessary because the last couple of days were quite eventful.
In the end, Jacob had listened to me regarding Aro. We couldn´t defeat him without the help of the Cullens, so they happily agreed to turn down Aro´s regime. I didn´t know how they did it, but I would hear it someday. Not today, as I had other plans.
As expected, Rosalie was extremely relieved her brother was back in her life. Although she didn´t completely trust the fact Jacob was a vegetarian now, they had days, weeks and even years to trust the other person again because Jacob finally joined the Cullen clan. Better late than never.
Now that the threat with Aro was over, Jacob could finally tell us why he joined Aro in the first place. And it turned out, just as Rosalie expected, that Aro held some power over Jacob. Why, Jacob did not specify, but I imagined it was something bad. And since Jacob was terrified of Aro, he couldn´t leave his clan although he wanted to.
Rosalie got Jacob back. I got an old friend back and finally, I would get my memories back as well.
I looked up at Edward and knew he also thought of that. I leaned in for a soft kiss against my temple. I couldn´t postpone this anymore, it was time.
¨Merry Christmas,¨ Edward whispered.
And since that moment, I remembered exactly who I was.
The End.
