My dear little broccolis💚💚💚

💚 So, I had the idea of this story because I didn't find any story where Christian is the nanny. In fact, I didn't find any story where the guy is the nanny, so here I am with this one.

💚The Nanny💚

Chapter 1: The Darkest Hour Is Just Before The Dawn (1,2K)

At the ripe age of twenty-nine, Christian still wasn't sure what to make of his life. He never finished school because he had to take care of his mother and brother, he never managed to excel in a job because he had always prioritised money over doing something he liked, and he never had a serious relationship with a woman that did not end badly.

In fact, there was nothing interesting about his life, or even remotely worth noticing. Well, apart from his good looks. But the fact that he had always been a quiet guy never played in his favour either. Girls often thought that he was shy when he just appreciated quietude and silence.

Still, there were two things that Christian knew he was good at, and she had decided to go to the big city of Seattle to excel in those. The first one was sculpture. Before his mother got sick, he used to hold clay into beautiful pieces. In fact, he had even been offered a scholarship for when he would finish high-school, to go to Juilliard. But of course, things happened differently, and he had to drop out of high school to work and provide for his family.

The second thing he absolutely loved was children. Many people he knew mocked him for it, but he had always liked children. He had always been the first one to volunteer to babysit kids when he was a teen (which lead to many people thinking he was gay), and now that he was moving to Seattle for a new start, he was thinking of maybe getting a job as a nanny.

At the moment, he was staying at his brother's whom he had put through university by accumulating three different jobs. Elliott was now an accountant for some company, living with his fiancée and their dog. And no matter how happy Christian was for his brother, he could help but feel like a failure that he was still crashing on the couch of his little brother when Elliott was already planning his wedding.

As soon as he came to Seattle, Christian had started looking for nanny positions, though Elliott and Kate (his fiancée) kept reassuring him that he was no burden and that he was always welcome in their home. Of course, being a man made the search that much harder. Very few people trusted him with their kids, even more, when their kids were little girls. Many people found a way (direct or subtle) to call him a creep for wanting to be a nanny.

So he had resigned to go back to bartending, one of the jobs he did when he was paying for his brother's studies. It was extenuating, but he knew he could tip well, and that meant he would be able to get out of his brother's hair that much sooner.

It all changed when, a couple of months after working there and looking through adds to find a flatshare, one of his coworker let him know of an add that could finally suit his dreams.

"So my sister works for that big shot company around the corner. She says that her boss is looking for a nanny. I remember you saying that you like taking care of kids, so do you want me to pass down your resume? I've heard that it pays well."

"Pay well? The same way they pay us well here?" He teased.

"Well. I don't know how much exactly, but it's a live-in position. And my sister's boss lives in Escala, so I'm sure it's real money. Plus, my sister says the kid is cute and well behaved. Which is a rare thing nowadays."

Christian agreed, thinking that he the job paid well, maybe he could actually pay for some eduction forms own. Something in arts of course. moreover, being a live-in nanny meant that he wouldn't have to find accommodations, and yet he would still be able to get out of his brother's apartment.

The next morning, he received an email inviting him to an interview the following day,

From: A. Steele

Subject: Application for the nanny position

Dear Mr Grey

I received your application for the governess/nanny position this morning, and after a thorough review of your references, I would like to get the opportunity in person to see for myself if you are as wonderful as your references have praised you. Noon on Friday the 15th of September is perfect for me.

Before you accept this interview, I would like to get a few details out of the way. Angela is a little girl of six, who will not require as much time as you could have expected. She goes to school, and I get her there every morning. Your job will be to pick her up from school, make sure her homework is done, get her ready for the night and cook her dinner. She is highly allergic to lemon and kiwis.

Your presence will most likely be required at least two Saturdays a month, and twice a week, you will have to take her to the park. She has several after school activities, one for each day of the week, and you will be expected to get her there between school and homework and stay with her. If she is to be invited at any birthday parties, it will fall upon you to get her there and wait for her there.

If you think you cannot fowl this rules, or that it will be too much for you, just let me know by reply, so none of us will waste our time in that interview of Friday the 15th.

If you are still interested, the salary starts at $8,000 (negotiable). You will have your own room, with bathroom included, access to an SUV, and you will be guaranteed a weekend per month. Other perks are included and will be discussed during the interview.

Thank you of letting me know your interest, and availability before noon today.

A. Steele, CEO Steele Entreprises Holdings Inc'

Christian couldn't help but smirk as he read the email. Not so much at the promise of a job (after all, it didn't seem to be an issue for them that he was a man), but because of the tone of the email. Mr Steele seemed bossy and to the point. Not that Christian minded. At least, he knew that his future boss was a man who didn't like to waste his time. And so he immediately replied.

Dear Mr Steele

I would be delighted to meet you on Friday the 15th, at noon. I am glad that my references are meeting up to your expectations and would be more than happy to enlighten you on any follow-up questions you may have.

I will have a list ready of all the questions I might have concerning your daughter, Angela, just to make sure that, if given the position, I keep her as safe and healthy as possible. I know that you already mentioned her allergies and activities, but as you know, there is always more to know about kids.

In the hope that this email finds you well,

Christian Grey

💚Your thoughts and opinions are always welcomed💚

💚I don't think it will be a very long story (but then again, I am terrible at estimating length, haha.) But there won't be much drama. It's rather straight forward, with a bit of smut.

💚 What do you think of this beginning anyway? And yes, Christian thinks he's meeting with a guy.

💚Well, let me know what you think. What was your favourite part? What do you think will happen next?

💚 E L James owns the names of the characters from the Fifty Shades franchise, everything else is mine.
