Thank you all for supporting this all the way to completion. I have some non-Conan fanfics in the works, but I will get back to Masks when I can. My life has blown up since I am going to Grad school and getting married while working full time so apologies for the lack of content. Hope you all enjoy and have a lovely day.

It was almost exactly three months later since the disbandment of the organization that had plagued KID, and Kaitou KID officially retired. There was an ongoing court case on the news every day, detailing the proceedings. The criminals were receiving at least twenty years, while the boss, Snake, Spider among other higher ups were receiving multiple life sentences. Conan had handed over all the evidence to Hakuba to run the court dealings since of course, he was not officially supposed to be there, although he did offer his testimony when he was available to be used.

Kaitou KID had even came into court, disguised of course, but he gave a full testimony about the organization. Any time any of the criminals had tried to expose his identity or to misbehave in any way, before even the police or judge could put a stop to it, the offender would suddenly be attacked by a swarm of doves out of nowhere. Kaitou KID looked on in complete innocence, as if he had no idea how the birds had made it into a locked court room. It only took four or five outbursts before they got the message.

Conan hadn't forgotten KID's promise, but he had been too busy to focus on it. He had had to rehabilitate his injury, work once more with the Akai family to take down a train tyrant, continue his investigation on Rum with Bourbon and Akai, and of course all the minor mysteries. All in all, he was booked solid, and only in the rare few moments of time that allowed him to think, his mind would wonder back to when Kaitou KID was going to fulfill his promise.

It was a Saturday morning. Ran was at a Karate tournament, Mouri was drinking beer and watching horse races since there were no clients today, while Conan was planning over the Agasa Hakase's later to hang out with the detective boys. One would call the day mundane, if that was even possible for Conan.

"Conan-kun, have you gotten the paper yet?"

Conan rolled his eyes as Mouri didn't look away from the television screen. He stood up from where he was fiddling with his phone and walked down the stairs to see where the newspaper was rolled up on the ground at the base of the steps. He bent down, unrolling it to see if there was any news about the robbers he had helped bust the day before, a flash of white fluttering to the ground caught his eye. Curiously, he picked up the sliver of white paper that seemed…blank. There was nothing on it, which one would call suspicious.

Occupied by this intriguing mystery, Conan absentmindedly dropped of the newspaper in the detective's office and retreated to his room.

He flipped the paper over and over several times, before holding it up to the light, examining it closely. Could it be a message from Akai-san? Or Rei-san? Or even Kir? He smelled the paper and wrinkled his nose. Lemon juice, of course. Invisible ink he could handle. He flicked on the bedside lamp and held the paper up to the source of heat, after a moment, the invisible ink darkened to brown.

Once more I ask you to play

Unless you wish to sit inside all day

A game for a detective, a hunt

I can't afford to be blunt

I am sure you can imagine my smirk

First clue: The first place we saw a firework.

Kaitou KID

Conan froze, glancing over the message with growing excitement. It was finally happening. He had no other obligations today that he couldn't just cancel. This was far too important. By the end of the day, he was determined to find out Kaitou KID's identity.

Scrambling around the room, he grabbed his cellphones, some yen, a jacket with gloves and a hat, and his skateboard. Bounding down the stairs, he shot a quick text to Haibara cancelling his playdate with the detective boys.

"Bye Oji-san I am going to Hakase's place."

He didn't even hear a confirmation as he dashed out onto the sidewalk, already hopping aboard the skateboard and revving it up. The detective paused as he once again looked at the note. He murmured.

"First place we saw a firework huh?"

He almost face palmed as the answer came to him. Of course, the first time he had ever met Kaitou KID. At the Haido city Hotel. It was the Black Star heist, and he had used fireworks to summon the police. Good start.

It was a good ten-minute skate over, with him dodging cars and traffic. Was this going to be a nostalgia trip as he goes? How many clues was this hunt going to include? Were they hopefully going to be more challenging then the first one?

Then his thoughts shifted. Was the thief all right? It had been a long time like he said. Did he already destroy Pandora hopefully? Was he injured? Had he taken care of any loose ends that had popped up? Was he still in any danger?

Finally, he skated up to the hotel, kick flipping the skateboard into his hand. He trotted up to the familiar path of taking the elevator to the roof, to the fabled place where he had first met the eccentric thief. Pushing open the metal door, he took in the view of the Tokyo skyline.

Conan examined the area thoroughly, only bristling slightly because of the chilly February wind. It didn't take him long to find the envelope by the railing, the exact spot he had stood to wait for the thief that fateful night. Conan peeked inside to see an ordinary deck of cards.

Conan shivered as he stood, hurrying back into the building. He decided to take refuge in the stairway as he pulled out the deck of cards. Upon closer inspection, they looked plain and unassuming. Conan flipped them over in his hands carefully, observing how they looked, felt, smelled. What was the clue here?

The miniature detective spread the cards out on the ground, eyes narrowed in thought as he stared at them. There had to be something, some discrepancy to give him a clue.

Wait, KID's cards. Didn't he say that one card was his lucky one? Conan picked up the Ace of Clubs, turning it this way and that, and smirked. This card seemed to be slightly thicker than the others. Hurriedly, Conan felt around the edge until he could feel the edge of the sticker on the backside of the card. He tore it off gently, and immediately frowned at the KID signature, one that looked different based on the sticking tongue out and a bzzt scribbled out underneath it.

So, he was on the right track. He was supposed to pick a card, but it had to be the right one. The only question was, which one was the right one? Rethinking his strategy, he decided to eliminate the cards that didn't have the same thickness of the Ace of Clubs. When he finally took the time to sort them all, there were half of the cards that were regular, and half seemed to have a sticker on the back. Conan tapped his chin, before deciding to check out the envelope that the cards were in. Maybe there was a clue or note he missed?

Sure enough, at the bottom of the envelope was a note.

3 chances before you take,

Before the cards go up in smoke,

On this case, to find the fake,

A card was chosen to provoke,

Remember?

Conan frowned as he sighed, rubbing his temples. This was going to be a headache. The Black Star heist was years ago. How was he supposed to remember? And by the sounds of it, these cards would combust if he got it wrong two more times. No pressure or anything.

Wait…a memory. When KID had planted that message card on the magician.

Hato, Haato, the Ace of Hearts!

Conan grinned as he picked up the Ace of Hearts peeling away the sticker to reveal a small note.

Bingo!

This clue was when we worked as a team,

I will be very brief,

You had several close encounters,

To save a fellow thief.

Conan gave a sigh as he ruffled his hair. Now what on earth was he talking about? He wouldn't have tried to save another thief…

Wait, yes, he did. Lupin, Jirokichi's dog, from the Iron Tanuki, which had almost chopped him in half and took his eye out with an arrow. KID had even mentioned how he couldn't leave his fellow thief locked up. Conan grinned, leaping down the stairs two at a time. This was going to be an exhilarating day.

The scavenger hunt was as thrilling as he expected. Locked in the Iron Tanuki, which Jirokichi graciously let him into after hearing it was related to KID, was a note leading him to the square that KID had done his teleporting trick, where at the top of the moving billboard was another note. It led him to the museum exhibit where they had caught the Ryouma fakes, then to the bridge where he had helped KID crash the motorcycle from the walking on air heist.

Another museum trip as a reminder of the sunflower heist as there was a note by the famous flower painting, led him to the Tokyo Haneda airport to the same terminal they took out of on that night that KID, Ran, and him landed the crashed plane. Even though he couldn't go to Nara or Osaka for the Red Siamese cat fiasco, KID was kind enough to let the blimp fly by him with a picture on it, flashing with KID's insignia. Trust the idiot thief to cause absolute chaos to an entire city just for him.

The picture of course wasn't too hard to research, and it took him to Ekoda High School, where he had met with Hakuba, who was there on Saturday to make up some classes he missed while overseas. The British detective was quite surprised to see him, but not surprised by his purpose. He rolled his eyes when Conan asked if he had seen or gotten anything from KID recently.

"I found this mysterious note in my locker this morning, and I was planning on opening it at lunch. So apparently it is for you?"

Conan accepted the note with a thanks before bee-lining towards the school gate. With a quick bit of thinking, led him to the police station, to be specific the headquarters of the KID taskforce. There he was forced to play a game of tag of sorts, where there was a list of officers that had snippet notes that when compiled together would make a full note together.

Only problem was that the officers had designated the office space as a no holds bar game of keep away, where officers were protecting each other to hinder Conan. When asked why, he only received shrugs.

"Sorry, KID asked us to not hold back against you or he would prank us for a year."

Understandable then. It was not too difficult, just time consuming and dare he say, fun. Soon, everyone was shouting and laughing as they tried their best to evade the mini detective. Nevertheless, Conan's competitive spirit overwhelmed them eventually, and the officers all sat recovering from the exercise as Conan pieced together the note.

"Nice job Conan-kun."

"Yeah kid you did great."

Conan absentmindedly shrugged as he slid the scraps of paper around the desk to put them in the right order.

"You all just had to make it difficult."

There! Conan glanced over the note.

Now my enemies can truly see

What I get to experience daily,

What fun!

Next clue, Tantei-kun,

You might not be able to get in,

But please attend an establishment

named after an Azul fowl,

Conan frowned. Azul fowl? What did that mean? Caught up in the message he waved goodbye to the task force and made his way to the door.

"Hey Conan-kun?"

One of the officers stopped him, and Conan looked back, recentered back in the moment. The officer had a grateful smile on his face as he bowed low.

"Thank you for all your help a few months ago."

Conan froze and stared as in unison, the entire taskforce clicked their heels together and bowed.

"We are so grateful for keeping that thief out of the morgue."

Conan was taken by surprise, but quickly recovered. He sent them a grin as he bowed as well.

"Thank you as well. We couldn't have succeeded without your help."

Then Conan was out the door, jumping down the concrete stairs two at a time, mind going a million miles an hour at the possible next clue. What could it possibly mean? A quick internet search of Tokyo restaurants didn't reveal anything, until he saw a bar, The Blue Parrot. Didn't he solve a mystery there once with Kogoro? It was worth a shot, since it was the only thing remotely close to what KID was asking, and the fact it was a bar, and the clue said 'you might not be able to get in.'

It wouldn't be too far of a trek, so he hopped on his skateboard, and within the hour he was in Ekoda, walking up into the bar.

Immediately, he recognized the place. Not from when he came with Kogoro, but sometime different. It wasn't just the smell or the sound, but the feeling. He had been there before.

There was evidence of a recent renovation, with different patches of carpet and fresh glass. The countertop to the bar looked to be sanded down as well, as if the surface of the wood was damaged in some way. There was an elderly man behind the counter, wiping out glasses, who glanced up at the door opening.

Conan approached the bar cautiously, already blending into his childish personality.

"Oji-san, tell me did you get a strange envelope today?"

The bartender raised an eyebrow at the saccharine sweet tone.

"Why yes Master Conan, I do have a note for you."

Conan stiffened slightly, one hand instinctively coming up to the watch. That voice, it had been several months, but it was ingrained into his head. He barely breathed.

"KID's…assistant?"

The man smiled warmly, placing down the glass he had been polishing.

"The very same. You can call me Jii if you wish."

Conan ventured closer to the bar cautiously, keeping an eye out for any tricks or traps. KID and him were on good terms now, but that didn't mean the assistant wouldn't try to get one last bout of petty revenge in. The elderly man commented.

"I wasn't expecting you for another twenty minutes or so. You are ahead of schedule. Did the officers take it easy on you?"

Conan hopped up onto the bar stool and was pleasantly surprised to find a steaming mug of black coffee awaiting him.

"Not at all, it took me forever to get those pieces."

Jii chuckled, sliding the glass into the cabinet and picking up another.

"Good, Botchama wanted to challenge you. Are you enjoying yourself so far?"

Conan nodded enthusiastically as he took a sip of the perfectly prepared coffee.

"Very much so. I haven't had to think this hard in a while."

Jii slid the envelope across the bar, but when Conan went to grab it, the hand kept it firmly in place. Conan glanced up at the elderly man, who had suddenly turned very serious.

"Now, I believe I know the answer to this, but just to be sure, this will not end in him in a cell, correct?"

Conan was about to scoff at the idea, when he thought better of it. The man was obviously just trying to protect KID. Conan was on the opposite side of the thief most of the time, and the fear wasn't completely unfounded since that was his mentality for a long time. He assured calmly.

"No. He was forgiven of all charges of theft and damages anyway after his testimony. I have no interest in turning him in."

He didn't break eye contact with Jii, allowing him to see the truth in the statement. There was a pause before Jii relinquished the envelope with a sigh.

"That is what I suspected but had to make sure."

Conan greedily snatched the envelope, practically ripping it apart in his haste. As he unfolded the paper he asked.

"Am I allowed to ask how many more stops I have to make?"

Jii nodded.

"There are three more stations for you to visit. You are almost done."

Conan tossed some yen on the counter as he dropped off the stool.

"Thanks for the coffee, Oji-san."

The mini detective was out on the street in an instant reading through the note swiftly. It was the shortest one so far, just a set of coordinates. Conan raised his eyebrows. Really now, KID was just getting lazy.

It was easy to plug it into GPS and it led him to a nearby neighborhood, just a short ride on his skateboard. He zoomed in on his map as he cruised down the streets, looking for some kind of indication of the building he needed to find. This was so off the beaten path. The other locations had a purpose, as they had connected him and KID with a heist of some kind. Why would he lead him in the middle of civilian domiciles?

Finally, he rolled to a stop, outside of an ordinary house, with no identifiable features whatsoever. Conan cocked his head and made his way up the path to the front door. What kind of trick or trap was this?

He knocked twice, and in a few seconds, he got the shock of his life as Ran opened the door. He spluttered.

"Ran-neechan?

The teenager looked down at him and asked politely.

"Sorry who?"

Under closer inspection, it wasn't in fact Mouri Ran, just a very convincing lookalike. Her eye color was a shade bluer then Ran's almost violet hue, and her hair was more ruffled and wild looking. It seemed like a nonrelated civilian. Did he get the wrong coordinates? Conan dismissed the question and switched to his childlike personality and came up with an excuse as to why he a random child was knocking on this young woman's door.

"Sorry Nee-chan, I was looking for someone. Did you perhaps receive any strange mail today?"

The girl's eyes widened.

"Wait, aren't you the KID Killer?"

Oh no…a fan perhaps. How was he supposed to handle this? When Conan did nothing to confirm or deny the claim, the teenager beamed.

"Thank you for helping my dad."

Dad? Before Conan could ask, a booming familiar voice sounded out further in the house.

"Who is it Aoko?"

The teenager, Aoko, yelled back.

"It is the KID Killer Otou-san."

Conan's eyes widened as Nakamori Keibu stepped out into the hallway, in an apron and holding a wok. Well, that would explain why he was summoned to this location and the connection to KID. Although seeing the inspector calm and mostly docile was a bit of a surprise. The officer's eyes widened.

"Conan-kun what are you doing over here?"

Conan froze, trying desperately to come up with an excuse. If he told Nakamori Keibu about the hunt for KID it could lead to his capture, which was off the table now. Aoko answered for him.

"He asked about strange mail we got today. Has the mail already run?"

Nakamori pointed to a stack of envelopes on a table by the door, as his tone turned serious.

"Haven't sorted it yet. What's going on?"

This made it easier. Nakamori would understand slightly if he gave the excuse about a nondescript case.

"There is a case with mail in this area, and I was looking for leads."

Aoko held up a similar envelope that he had received the other notes in.

"Is this it?"

Conan nodded. Aoko handed him the card.

"Thank you Keibu enjoy the rest of your evening. Nice to meet you Onee-san."

Aoko beamed at him.

"Nice to meet you too. Take care Conan-kun."

"Hey Conan-kun."

Conan turned at the officer's voice. He seemed to look a little embarrassed about his next sentence and hesitated only slightly.

"Do you really think that thief is retired?"

Conan dared not clench the envelope tighter or indicate that he was currently in cahoots with said thief. He was about to blow it off when he noticed the miserable look in Nakamori's eyes. It seemed he wasn't the only one going to be missing heists. Conan gave him a gentle smile.

"I know he is way too dramatic to disappear entirely. I think he will not be able to resist a challenge coming from Jirokichi-san, and he is going to need a task force to stop him."

Nakamori grinned back as he brandished his wok.

"That KID. He better believe we will catch him next time."

Conan chuckled as the door shut behind him and he continued down the path. He practically shredded the envelope trying to get to the note.

It was simple, just numbers and arrows. 28 straight arrow, 15 left arrow. What did this mean? Steps? Conan looked up at where he was heading and started counting as he walked. Twenty-eight steps forward and he turned to the left to see another house, with the last name Kuroba on the mailbox. Sure, enough fifteen steps later had him at the front door. What connection did this place have?

Once again he rang the doorbell, ready for the whole other spiel about a case about someone leaving mysterious mail around. It was about twenty seconds later when the door opened.

Conan's detective eyes drank in the observations about the teenage boy standing in front of him. Unruly hair, indigo eyes, rubbing sleep out of them, dressed in sweatshirt and sweatpants yawning.

"Yes?"

A little deeper than what he expected. He narrowed his eyes at the teenager. He looked kind of familiar. That smile, that eye hue. There was something sweet smelling in the air, like chocolate. His gaze looked the man up and down, frantically scanning. This person was completely ordinary, but what about him was making him on edge?

"Sorry, can I help you?"

Broken out of his staring contest, Conan quickly got back on track. A fluke maybe? Nevermind, he didn't have time for this. Seriously, what was KID thinking making him disturb normal citizens? He pitched his voice higher as he beamed innocently.

"Sorry, I am looking for any strange mail recently? Someone has been dropping scam letters in mailboxes and I am making sure you weren't hit by it."

Almost immediately, there was an envelope thrust at his hands.

"Found this and thought it was kind of suspicious. Do I need to be worried?"

Conan shook his head as he clutched the note almost comically quick.

"No, it was just this note. We will keep you updated on the situation, um…"

The teenager grinned and Conan felt a thin level of irritation that he smoothed down.

"Kaito Kuroba."

Conan nodded.

"Kuroba-san. Thank you for cooperation."

He quickly backpedaled back down the path toward the street, barely hearing the door shut behind him as he practically vibrated with excitement. This was the last note. Jii had said so. He would soon be pulling of the mask of Kaitou KID. He tore the paper out and quickly read through the tiny letter.

Congratulations Tantei,

You have almost made it through,

One last place to visit.

It is one familiar to you,

The place we first matched wits.

Phantom Thief Vs. Meitantei

Conan narrowed his eyes as he dropped his skateboard on the ground. First? But he had already went to Haido city hotel. That was the very first…

Wait. No, he had underlined first, and had used his nickname of Meitantei, not Tantei-kun. A resounding bell chime in the distance only cemented the idea. KID was talking about where KID and Kudo Shinichi had first met, the clocktower.

Conan couldn't race any faster down the street. He could see the tower once more in his sights, and instead of flying toward it to lure some criminals there, now he was going to unmask the very criminal he was trying to help. He skidded to a stop outside the building and dashed inside. In the elevator, he bounced from one foot to the other. Finally, he would be bringing a satisfying end to a mystery he has been trying to solve for years. What a creative and entertaining way to wrap up their little rivalry. He couldn't ask for better.

Finally, the door dinged open at the top of the tower. He glided out into the almost dark hallway. In moments he was climbing into the clockwork, hearing the clattering of gears turning and the tick tock of the giant clock. He was on high alert, one hand on his ball belt just in case. It wouldn't exactly be out of character of KID to pull one last trick on him. Conan taunted, trying to bring the Phantom Thief out into the open.

"Come on out KID, I made it here, didn't I?"

There was a polite greeting returned.

"Enjoy my little gauntlet, Tantei-kun?"

Conan smirked, relieved that he wasn't wrong. He was almost buzzing with anticipation, the same manic energy that filled him any time a solution to a mystery was in his grasp.

"Very much so. You outdid yourself KID."

The Thief preened.

"Thank you. Sorry it took awhile for all the pieces to come into place."

Conan glanced around the seemingly empty room.

"Well then, are you going to reward my hard work or not?"

There was a small pause, before KID commented thoughtfully.

"Surprising, you didn't figure it out."

Conan whirled around, trying to locate the familiar tenor that seemed to come from everywhere.

"What do you mean?"

KID chuckled.

"You have one final question, Tantei-kun. What is my name?"

Conan frowned. How on earth would he have known that? He couldn't possibly guess such a thing, could he? After a few moments of silence, KID asked with a smidge of smug condescension.

"You need a hint?"

Conan scowled at the very idea.

"Absolutely not. Just…give me a minute."

KID chuckled in response. Conan dropped his hand from hsi ball belt and let it wander to his chin, pondering deeply. This meant KID had given him his name at some point during this trek. He wouldn't have asked unless he was absolutely sure that Conan had received it.

Was it hidden in the notes somehow? Conan went back over the notes mentally, and after giving it about ten seconds of thought, discarded that theory. Was it the stops? Did they spell out something? He had thought the order was randomized but maybe not. No, that didn't make any sense anyway. Step by step, he retraced his journey, searching for that one clue, that one thing that stood out.

Wait…he was a fool.

There was one person that had seemed random, one that didn't connect to any heist, that had given him a name. He was an absolute moron. He had been misled by Jii's comment of having three stops left, and even though he had looked like him, the voice didn't match, which were both two foolish things that he should have seen through. Conan grinned as he stated with confidence.

"Kaito Kuroba."

There was a dramatic pause, because the magician had a flair for theatrical entrances, before he appeared in a puff of colorful smoke. Everything about Kaitou KID's attire was normal, except the monocle was absent. Kaito smirked as he bowed low, flicking the top hat off his head in a true magician's bow.

"Bravo Meitantei. I am indeed the infamous Kaitou KID."

Conan all but rushed forward, eyes finally observing the unmasked Phantom Thief.

"It is not in front of your fan club, but I will take it."

Kaito snorted as he replaced his hat with a flick of the wrist.

"Yes, thank goodness for that."

Kaito watched as Conan hungrily observed everything about him, eyes wandering over his figure, resting more often than not on his face. Excitement bubbled into awe and extreme satisfaction, like the perfect dessert to end a full course meal. Truly a perfect ending for the detective. He had hoped it was worthy of the opponent that he respected so dearly. Conan smirked as he held out his hand.

"Pleased to meet you Kaito Kuroba."

Kaito chuckled as, surprisingly without any pranks attached, shook the detective's hand.

"Same here, I suppose."

It felt strange, and his thief senses were on high alert at having the mini-tantei see him without any masks or disguises in place. Old habits die hard, and his instincts were practically screaming at him to get out of dodge. Conan wrinkled his nose slightly.

"Really though, Kaito? Did your parents have a sense of humor?"

Kaito grinned. If the detective got to poke fun, then so did he.

"Something like that. Seriously though Tantei-kun, you are losing your edge. How did you not recognize me?"

Conan spluttered in his defense waving his arms emphatically to prove he was not rusty in skill.

"Your assistant said there were three stops left not two, and you could change your voice to sound like anyone. How was I supposed to know?"

Kaito rolled his eyes as he sat down on a nearby step.

"Oh, I don't know, maybe the fact I look almost identical to you? I only set up this last stop just in case you couldn't figure it out. Luckily my glider is faster than your skateboard."

Conan sat next to him and sighed.

"Well, it was still a great experience, truly a legendary way for me to find out your identity."

There was a second of silence before Conan yelped.

"Now wait just a minute, you live across the street from Nakamori Keibu?!"

Kaito snorted, a mischievous grin already playing across his face.

"Ah, met him and Ahoko huh? I have dinner with them regularly. Really convenient for finding out about the traps he is planning to set."

Conan gaped at him.

"Is that your secret informant?"

Kaito just grinned wider as he watched the mini detective fume next to him.

"His daughter is my best friend. We go to Ekoda together and have practically grown up together, and he basically adopted me after...well my guardian situation got complicated."

Conan swallowed nervously as he sought a subject change away from the murder of his father.

"So, is Pandora…"

Kaito perked up, answering easily.

"Destroyed. The witch knew her stuff, managed to unmagic it. After that it was tossed into some molten steel to be broken down and never used again. It is officially gone for good, and those bastards are left to rot."

Conan breathed out with relief. He had been worried about that distinct lack of closure on the case he had meant to solve. This meant everything was finally over.

Kaito stood up, stretched and in mere moments was back in his civilian clothes, which was still kind of a shock to see in Conan's opinion. Seriously, the lady-killer Kaitou KID looking like a stereotypical teenager was going to be ann adjustment.

"How do you feel about ice-cream Tantei-kun? There is a nice shop nearby if you would like to talk more, or would you rather head back to the Mouri's?"

Conan checked his watch. It was early evening, and the last train didn't run for a while. Now that he had KID right where he wanted him, no way was he letting the thief off that easy.

"Sure Kuroba-san, but you sure you don't want sushi?"

Kaito narrowed his eyes at the innocent looking Conan.

"Brat."

"Idiot thief."

After a moment they both busted out laughing. They followed each other out of the clock tower, acting almost like two normal boys their age instead of an international criminal and a world-famous detective. Conan was doing his typical detective interrogation about everything he had seen that day and Kaito's life, while Kaito patiently let him exercise his excitement and calmly answered questions, with mild pranks when the boy was a little too enthusiastic. Phone numbers would be exchanged, and this would definitely not be the last time they would meet up.

After all, this experience had perfectly cemented the fact, that through thick and thin, the Phantom Thief Kaitou KID and Holmes of the Century Kudo Shincihi were friends indeed.
