So, I changed this story because I wasn't really happy with it and I thought of something that, in my opinion, is much better. I also erased two other stories: 'A Self-Created Destiny' and 'Meet Barbara Maxwell' because 1. I didn't want to continue them and 2. some of the plans I had for those stories I've implemented them in this story instead.
So this is basically a 'self-insert' story (for those unfamiliar with the term now: 'self-insert' now just means a girl from our world ends up in a fictional world).
I imagine my OC as Amanda Seyfried as she looked in 2009.
I took the surname Carson from the books. There's a character in the books called Sue Carson. Clary will also be the witch in the story. The Bennetts aren't witches in this story and so Bonnie is not a witch either; however, Clary's not a normal witch, she's a siphoner (who's also born from a werewolf bloodline, so she's also an untriggered werewolf when the story starts). I've always wanted to write a story about a siphoner but also about what would happen if a siphoner were born from a werewolf bloodline and she would also become a vampire? Supposedly such a person would be able to turn into a tribrid right?
Also, Hayley is Tyler Lockwood's sister in the story. They're non-identical twins.
That's all I'm going to say about her, otherwise I will spoil the rest of the story.

Summary: Clary's inadvertent wish is granted and she's now in the vampire diaries. Her name is now Clarissa Carson and she's a witch (a siphoner to be more precise) and an untriggered werewolf. All things she wished for. She made an entire list of things she would have changed about the canon story but she doesn't remember any of them. In fact, past a certain point (after the tomb is open), she can't remember what will happen next. None of it matters though, because all she cares about is having fun and making Damon fall in love with her. Damon/OC (Clary Carson).
Pairings: Damon/Clary(OC) as the main focus of this story. Other background endgame couples will be: Bonnie/Matt, Jeremy/Anna, Hayley/Elijah, Marcel/Rebekah, Caroline/Klaus and Kol/Davina eventually. Also, background Stefan/Elena (but they're not going to be an endgame couple; Damon or no Damon, I despise Stelena and I've always thought they would never last in the long run; I was thinking maybe Elena/Enzo as the endgame couple for Elena; and for Stefan...I don't know, perhaps Freya) and all other temporarily canon couples like Jeremy/Vicki, Caroline/Matt, Caroline/Tyler etc.

Prologue
Sometimes, when Clary had nothing better to do, she would imagine ways in which she would change her favorite tv shows, movies or books. Not because there was anything wrong with them (well, except for the last season of Game of Thrones, which was almost universally despised) but simply for the fun of it.
One of her favorite TV shows was 'the Vampire Diaries' and though it had more than its shares of problems, especially in the last seasons, it still remained, at least in her humble opinion, one of the best of its genre (not to the level of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', of course, but which was?). It was certainly iconic.
Personally, what Clary liked best, was the vast and varied world they had created, with its own set of rules and lore. Well, and Damon, naturally. She loved the Originals – well, not Finn, but definitely all the others – but her favorite character has always been and will always be Damon.
While Clary had loved the relationship between Damon and Elena, sometimes she wondered what would have happened if Damon had fallen for someone else, instead of Elena. What would have happened if Damon hadn't spent more than 3 seasons pining after Elena? What if he had fallen for a different girl instead?
And, since she was pathetic like that, she would sometimes imagine what it would be like to be a part of that world and she would spend hours just thinking about what kind of character she would be. Like a video game, what would her avatar be like and look like?
First of all her appearance. Her avatar couldn't look like herself. No, her avatar would look like Amanda Seyfried as she looked in 2009 (like in the movies Chloe, Boogie Woogie or Jennifer's Body – without the glasses obviously).
Her avatar would also have the same age as Elena, Bonnie, Caroline etc. so she would be in the same year as them, as a junior in high school.
Her name would be Clary - Clarissa - like her own name. But what about her surname?
After some thinking, she decided on the name Carson, like the minor character of Sue Carson in the books. The Carsons would be one of the founding families of Mystic Falls, of course, like the Gilberts, Forbes, Fells, Lockwoods and Salvatores.
She wanted Clary - her avatar - to be the witch of the story but not a normal witch. She wanted her to be a siphoner and part of the Gemini Coven (but not a Parker, perhaps a Tulle, like Valerie). Obviously Bonnie and the Bennetts wouldn't be witches anymore. Bonnie could be some other kind of supernatural creature. Perhaps she can be a psychic (more similar to the psychics in the books than the show) but her power is awakened after she dies and then brought back to life with magic (basically what happens to Jeremy in canon at the end of season2; so Bonnie is the one that sees ghosts, not Jeremy; but she will have other psychic powers as well, not only the ability to see ghosts). Before that she's just a normal human.
Her paternal grandmother would be the one who taught her magic before she died and she would be the one with Tulle blood and born in the Gemini Coven. But since she was born a siphoner like Clary, she left the coven because siphoners are despised by 'normal' witches. So, she moved to Mystic Falls and that's where she met Mr. Carson, Clary's grandfather.
Clary's mother, on the other hand, would be a Fell and the older sister of Meredith Fell (who was terribly unutilized in the show). Her mother was aware of the vampires but she wasn't part of the Council (and neither is Meredith part of the Council either, she just works as a doctor at Mystic Falls Hospital).
Clary would be descended from Valerie Tulle – who will replace Emily Bennet. Valerie would be a siphoner like in canon, and like Emily in canon, she would be best-friends with Katherine; she wouldn't have a relationship with Stefan, nor would she become pregnant with his child; she also wouldn't have any connection to Julian or Lily at all, in fact.
But, since she always wondered what would happen if a siphoner would be born in a werewolf bloodline, she decided to have the Carsons be like the Lockwoods, with the Carson bloodline carrying the werewolf gene. Someone like that, if turned into a vampire, would become a tribrid technically, even though different from Hope.
In the Tulle family (like with the Bennetts in the show) the magical inheritance is only for the women in the bloodline, so Clary's father wasn't born a witch (but he was still born an untriggered werewolf).
But, even if any vampire blood would do to turn her into a vampire, and any human blood would do to complete the transformation after, she would still need to drink Klaus' blood (once he broke the curse) after the transition is complete, since Klaus is the only werewolf-vampire hybrid in existence. Otherwise her body would reject her transformation and she would start to puke blood and be unable to keep the blood down until she would desiccate due to starvation (basically similar to what happened in canon to Elena due to the sirebond, except she would be unable to keep down any blood, including blood directly from the vein). So, different to how a werewolf-vampire hybrid is turned because she's also a witch-werewolf hybrid.
This only happens though if the werewolf transformation is triggered, either before being turned into a vampire by triggering the curse (by killing someone) as a human, or after, if she kills someone as a vampire and the curse is triggered this way. If she's still an untriggered werewolf when she's turned into a vampire, she completes the transformation like normal and becomes a heretic (a witch-vampire hybrid), but the moment she kills someone as a vampire, her werewolf curse is triggered and she starts to reject blood, and that's when she needs Klaus' blood as a sort of cure basically. As a heretic (if her werewolf side is dormant) and a tribrid (once the werewolf side has been awakened) they don't need daylight rings because their witch side and then werewolf-witch side takes care of the sun problem.
Obviously, because she woudn't be turned by Klaus' blood, she wouldn't be sired to him. But, anyway, she wouldn't be sired to him anyway because, if she were to become a werewolf while still human, she could create a moonlight ring for herself (like the ones introduced in the Originals). Since the sirebond with Klaus is created by gratitude from the werewolves not being forced to turn every full moon, the ring would prevent the sirebond forming with Klaus anyway.
Clary also decided to make a list of things she would change about the story in general.
First, she would change Hayley's role in the story and have her be Tyler's non-identical twin so she could be in the story from the beginning. She would have the same age as Clary and they would be best friends.
When the events of the story start Clary would be living with her young aunt (Meredith Fell), desperately wanting to finish high school and get out of Mystic Falls. That's because her parents are dead (they died when she was very young) and her grandmother died a few months before the story starts so her aunt is her only living relative.
She would also love to have Davina and Marcel appear in Mystic Falls, perhaps in the middle of season4 since the Harvest Ritual happens in 2011, basically at the same time as season4 of the Vampire Diaries. Perhaps because Marcel is seeking help for Davina after the Harvest Ritual and he's been ousted from New Orleans by the witches.
There were other things she had written, three whole pages of them in fact. But what was the point? It wasn't like any of what she had written would ever happen; it wasn't like she could change the events of the show just by wishing for it. Clary shook her head, knowing she was being silly.
Of course, the thing she wanted the most after coming up with such a list, would be to become her avatar - Clary Carson herself. But such a thing wasn't possible so she tried to banish the thought from her mind.
Clary decided to get ready for bed, not noticing the shooting star passing through the night sky outside her window. She went to sleep, not knowing everything would be different for her tomorrow.
