Beyond the forest on a beautiful day, a large castle is seen on top of a cliff. Inside the castle, in the throne room, the human Chrysalis is approaching a mirror that's mounted on a wall. Once she's close enough to the mirror, she spreads her arms apart.
"Slave in the magic mirror...come from the farthest space," she said. "Through wind and darkness I summon thee... Speak!"
Lightning bolts, followed by blazing fire, occurred inside the mirror.
"Let me see thy face," said Chrysalis and a mask-like entity gradually appears inside the mirror.
"What wouldst thou know, my queen?" the mirror asked.
"Magic mirror on the wall...who is the fairest of them all?" Chrysalis asked.
"Fame is thy beauty, majesty," the mirror said. "But hold, a lovely maid I see. Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas, she is more fair than thee."
"Alas for her," Chrysalis sneered as she crossed her arms. "Reveal her name!"
"Lips red as the rose... Hair pink as a cherry blossom... Skin yellow as the sun and smooth as a blanket of snow," the mirror said.
"Snow Shy!" Chrysalis said with indignance.
Outside the castle, in a courtyard, Fluttershy, wearing rags and a pair of wooden Dutch clogs, is scrubbing the bottom stone stairway step with a scrub brush with soap and water while humming a tune as some doves, who are settled near Fluttershy, watch her. Once she's done scrubbing, she lets out a sigh and she picks up the bucket — filled with water — and she pours the water on the step, washing off the soap suds. She walks over to the well and the doves follow her as they flew over to the well and they perch on the edge of the well. Fluttershy pulls the rope on the pulley that's underneath the head of the well hoisting up another bucket of water.
"Want to know a secret?" Fluttershy asked the doves and the doves cooed affirmatively as they nodded. "Promise not to tell?" she asked again and the doves cooed affirmatively and nodded.
We are standing by a wishing well
Make a wish into the well, that's all you have to do
And if you hear it echoing
Your wish will soon come true
I'm wishing
(echo from the well) I'm wishing
For the one I love
To find me
(echo from the well) To find me
Today
I'm hoping
(echo from the well) I'm hoping
And I'm dreaming of
(Outside the castle walls, Sandalwood, who is riding on a horse, hears Fluttershy's singing and he stops his horse in front of the wall.)
The nice things
(echo from the well) The nice things
He'll say
(echo from the well) He'll say
Ah-ah-ah-ah-aaah
(echo from the well) Ah-ah-ah-ah-aaah
Ah-ah-ah-ah-aaah
(echo from the well) Ah-ah-ah-ah-aaah
(Sandalwood climbs up on top of the wall.)
Ah-ah-ah-ah-aaah
(echo from the well) Ah-ah-ah-ah-aaah
Aah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-aaah
I'm wishing
(echo from the well) I'm wishing
For the one I love
To find me
(echo from the well) To find me
Today
(Sandalwood) Tooodaaaaaaaaaaaay!
"Oh!" Fluttershy exclaimed, upon seeing Sandalwood appear beside her.
"Hello," Sandalwood greeted Fluttershy as he took off his hat. "Did I frightened you?"
Spooked, Fluttershy runs away from Sandalwood.
"Wait! Wait, please! Don't run away," Sandalwood implored as Fluttershy ran inside the castle and closed the door.
Now that I've found you
Here's what I have to saaaaaaaay!
Somewhere at the upper area of the castle, Fluttershy peeked from behind a curtain that leads out to the balcony overhearing Sandalwood's serenade.
One song
I have but one song
One song
Only for you
(Fluttershy swoons over Sandalwood's song. She makes herself presentable and she walks out to the balcony where the doves are perched on the balustrade of the balcony listening to Sandalwood's song with enjoyment.)
One heart
Tenderly beating
Ever entreating
Constant and truuuuuuuuuuuue!
One love
That has possessed me
One love
Thrilling me through
(At the uppermost part of the castle, Chrysalis is looking out a window overhearing Sandalwood's singing with a peeved look on her face; then she closes the curtains.)
One song
My heart keeps singing
(A dove perched on Fluttershy's finger and Fluttershy puckers her lips for the dove to kiss on. Once the dove did that, it flies down towards Sandalwood.)
Of one love
Only for yoooooooooou
Once Sandalwood's serenade is finished, the dove perched on his finger. The dove cooed shyly as it blushes and then it transfers the kiss from Fluttershy to him on the lips and then the dove flies away. Sandalwood looks up at Fluttershy who is standing behind the curtains looking at him with a smile and then Fluttershy delicately closes the curtains.
Inside the castle, Chrysalis is sitting on her throne. "Take her far into the forest. Find some secluded glade where she can pick wild flowers," she ordered the human Cratus, about Fluttershy.
"Yes, your majesty," he said.
"And there, my faithful huntsman, you will KILL her."
"But, your majesty, the little princess—"
"Silence!" Chrysalis shouted as she abruptly stood up from her throne with a fist raised. "You'll know the penalty if you fail."
"Yes...your majesty," Cratus meekly said.
"But to make doubly sure...you do NOT fail, bring back her heart...in this," Chrysalis said as she showed Cratus a small lock box held in her hands; with the lock shaped like a heart and a dagger.
