Hello there!

Welcome to next Issue of Spider-Verse I: When I Swing By.

This chapter introduces my favorite Spider-Man villain. Hope you'll enjoy and now to story time.

"Okay, just a quick recap." Aiden said leaning against his locker during the morning at school, "First, I fought a man turned into a giant lizard, then a man in a powered vulture suit, then a rampaging rhino in a suit they can't remove him from."

"Don't forget the blue furred demon girl." Peter said as he was taken out books from his own locker.

"Wasn't a villain, so I don't count her among them." Aiden said.

"Fair enough." Peter said, "Why are you reminding me of this?"

"Well with my dad gone tonight for that charity event, something about dynamic youth center. I'm going to be patrolling all night." Aiden said, "With all the animal themed supervillains I have faced, I have my fingers crossed that I run into a cat lady next..."

"A cat lady?" Peter repeated confused, "Your actually hoping for one?"

"What?" Aiden said with a shrug, "I like cats."

"I know your a cat person." Peter said, stashing his books in his backpack before closing his locker, "But are we talking about a anthropomorphic cat like Fritz the Cat or just a normal girl who has cat ears like in a Japanese cartoon?"

"...Honestly, I was hoping for the last one." Aiden said as the two began to walk.

"Alright, back to a different topic than cat girls." Peter said, slinging his backpack over his shoulder, "So you think this Kingpin has something to do with this? With all these supervillain suddenly appearing?"

"It's a defined maybe. If he exist that is." Aiden said before he realized something, "Can you imagine? We're on the plane to Miami this time next week."

"I know. The school year went by so quickly!" Peter said with a smile, "Before I forget, what the heck did those even mean?" taking out his phone and showing the text of emoticon's Aiden had send when he had to go after the Rhino.

"Changed into spider suit. Swinging after a rampaging Rhino. Everything okay." Aiden pointed out, "Come on Pete, I thought you where the smart one."

"How was I suppose to know that!?" Peter exclaimed.

"I thought you where the smart one." Gwen said as she and Cindy came walking up to the duo.

"Morning." Aiden said before turning to the blonde, "Hey Gwen. Your dad is a cop right?"

"Yes, he is. Glad you remembered" Gwen said with a smirk, "Just so you know, he really did wanted to arrest you after dinner."

"W-why would he want to do that?" Cindy said curiously.

"Oh, Aiden talked smack about dad's Spider crush." Gwen said simply.

"Not the Stacy I would go for..." Aiden thought before speaking up, "Has your dad ever mention anything about a Kingpin of Crime?"

"Not that I know of..." Gwen said just as the bell rang.

"It's time." Cindy said, "We need to go to gym class."

"Right." Aiden said turning to Peter, "See you at lunch."

"I wish you luck." Peter said with a smile.

It was during the last class of the day, the only one he didn't share with Peter, Gwen or Cindy. As usual he was sitting in the back of the classroom, where he could slack off undisturbed. Currently he was writing down notes on possible improvements for his suit, just a few idea's to run by Peter later. He had been so focused on his work that he hadn't noticed that someone had taken a seat next to him.

So he was surprised when he felt someone lean over too look at what he was doing. But he was more surprised when he noticed who it actually was, someone he hadn't been expecting.

"What are you writing about?" MJ said from the seat next to him.

"Oh, nothing. Just some notes for the Arclight internship." Aiden said, as he quickly closed his notebook, "Applied Science stuff. Pretty boring."

"Right, the Arclight internship." MJ said, leaning on the table, "Hoping to get a job at your dad's company?"

"Actually, I think I already got a job ready for me there once I graduate high school." Aiden said rubbing the nape of his neck, "My dad will be like 'Good job on those spreadsheets, Aiden. Here's a gold coin'."

MJ raised an eyebrow at him, confused at his statement, "Honestly... I don't know how jobs work." he admitted.

"...I think that's exactly how they work." MJ said with a laugh. There was a brief moment of laughter after this, "So... How was your weekend?"

"Saturday was fun." Aiden said with a shrug, "Peter, Gwen and Cindy slept over and we all just hung out, watched movies and played games."

"Sounds actually fun. At least way more fun than the game." MJ said, "At least we got to see Spider-Man in life action."

"That sounds pretty cool, I guess." Aiden said suddenly getting an idea, "Hey if football games are that boring, aside from the appearance of a superhero, and with summer vacation around the corner... Maybe you should come over next time."

"Maybe I will." MJ said with a smile.

"Great, I'll let you know..." he said, "Wait, do I even have your number?"

The redhead let out a small giggle, before taking her pen and write her number down in her note book before ripping out the page and handing it to him. "Just give me a call." she said.

"I will." he said, "Say, since when do we have this class together?"

"...Since the start of the year." MJ pointed out.

Day had turning into evening, in a gala room located in one of the tallest skyscrapers in Manhattan where a charity event, attended by only by the wealthiest of citizens of New York. On the stage, a life band played music as the guest eat, drank and chatted amongst each other.

The music stopped as the band just finished playing, leaving the stage to the organizer of this charity event. A man with no hair on his head, but almost as wide as he was tall. He was dressed in a white business suit with purple dress shirt and white tie, stepped onto the stage.

"If I might have your attention." the bald man spoke into the microphone, "I am Wilson Fisk. Thank you all for coming to support the Fisk Dynamic Youth Center."

He received applause before a window was smashed open and a man dressed in green flight armor with ripped up purple hoody, his face hidden behind a green mask with pointy ears, which somehow moved along with his manic facial expressions. He was riding Arclight's experimental Tech Flight board.

"Hello! Good evening! How do you do!" he said in a high pitched voice as he flew around the room, "I am the Green Goblin and I will be your entertainment for the evening!"

He jumped off his glider while grabbing onto a chandelier before swinging from it as he released his grip and with a somersault he landed back on his glider. With one more round around the room, he hovered in mid-air as he stood up straight.

"Now, I am looking for the Kingpin!" Green Goblin exclaimed.

"Sir, I don't know who you are..." Fisk began drawing the attention of the supervillain, all of it on him and away from the frightened crowd.

"Of course you don't! That's the point of the mask!" Green Goblin said as he hovered in front of the stage, "But I know who you are. So step down or I'll start sharing secrets!"

It was at this moment that a group of Fisk security, along with Fisk's head of security, wearing a business suit almost as red as his hair and red tinted sunglasses, a guide stick in hand.

"There is no need for threatening my guests." Fisk said, holding out a hand to stop for his head of security from possible getting attacked by the Goblin.

"There is! If I want any witnesses!" Green Goblin giggled before he sneered, "Kingpin."

"What do you hope to accomplish tonight?" Fisk said, staring the masked villain down not showing any fear.

"Seriously?" Green Goblin said as he rolled his eyes, "...The whole wanting to kill you and take over your empire thing wasn't clear?"

Before more could be said, a red and black blur swung in through the hole made by the Goblin's entrance. With a swift kick against the Goblin's torso, the costumed villain could just keep his balance and regain control of his glider as Spider-Man touched down on the upper balcony.

"May I ask for your invitation Spider-Man." the Green Goblin said with a manic smirk, "Otherwise I will have to ask you to leave."

"Leave now? When table twelve needs more bread?" Spider-Man said rather cocky, "Stand down Emerald Elf! That's an order!"

"But the Green Goblin doesn't take orders from insects!" Green Goblin said, picking up a orange pumpkin shaped bomb from his glider, "The Green Goblin swats them into oblivion!"

"But spider's aren't insects." Spider-Man said, jumping over the explosion, "They are arachnids." decking the Goblin into the face, making him fall to the ground as his glider spun around in the air.

The Green Goblin stood up just as Spider-Man landed, catching his fist with his hand. "Impressive!" the Goblin giggled, before kicking Spider-Man back with a front kick sending him crashing into the opposite wall.

Calling his glider back to him, he board it before taking into the air. Activating the machine guns on it, the Goblin shot with a rapid barrage of bullet at Spider-Man, who evaded by running up the wall. Chasing after him, Spider-Man swung outside through a window, evading a energy blast from the Goblin's finger.

The glider sped up, evading a web shot from Spider-Man. The Goblin grabbed him and rammed him in the side of the building. Pinning him there, the Goblin gripped his head before smacking it against the wall.

Spider-Man broke free by slamming his elbow to the side of Green Goblin's head before reversing his position. The two super beings traded blows, before the Goblin knocked him back by a quick punch to the stomach followed by an elbow against the face.

Sticking to the side of the Glider, Spider-Man used his free hand to slam his fist through the control panel, before he began to tear out the cables underneath.

The Glider gave a violent jerk, "You might want to go back to the party Spider-Man." the Green Goblin said as he tried to get his Glider under control, "Or else you'll miss the fire and brimstone present I left. Any minute now, the crème de la crème of New York City is going to paint the town red... Well the ballroom anyway!" he cackled again before kicking Spider-Man against the head, forcing him to let go as the Glider began to spin out of control.

Falling through the air, Spider-Man shot a web before swinging to the side of a building and sticking to it.

He looked up to see thick black smoke coming from the Glider as the Goblin was making his escape while trying to keep the Glider airborne.

"We'll meet again, Spider-Man!" he heard the Green Goblin shout before disappearing behind a tall building.

Wasting no time, Spider-Man spun a web and swung himself back into the building, where the guest where already being evacuated.

"Good, get everyone out of here!" Spider-Man shouted as he began to search the place, "There is a bomb!"

"Everybody down the stairs!" Fisk's head of security shouted, gesturing with his guidance stick towards the emergency stairs, "If the bomb goes off the elevator won't be safe."

While checking around the place, Spider-Man took a quick glance if he could spot his father, but to his relieve he was no where to be seen. With no distractions, he began to check under the tables and under the chairs, Spider-Man looked for any place the Green Goblin could have hidden the bomb. That was until he heard the sound of plates smashing to pieces on the floor along with silverware.

Looking over his shoulder, he saw that it was Wilson Fisk who had cleaned a table and was now holding it up. It seemed he too was looking for the bomb.

"Sir." Spider-Man said urgently, "You need to get out of here."

"My party, my mess." Fisk said with an assured tone before looking up at the ceiling, "Spider-Man! The chandelier!"

"Good thinking!" Spider-Man said with a quick thumbs up before jumping up and with a single leap he reached the ceiling where he stuck to it.

Inside one of the lamps, he did saw a much larger pumpkin bomb sitting there, the green eyes of it flickering as if on a countdown. Picking it up, Spider-Man shot two webs against opposite sides of the wall, creating a catapult to launch the pumpkin bomb through the window.

And it wasn't a moment too soon as seconds after it was send flying out of the window, it exploded in a massive display of fire and green smoke with enough force to flatten the entire gala room and everyone in it.

Spider-Man let out a sigh of relieve, landing on the floor before he heard what sounded like applause behind him. Turning around in surprise, he saw that it was Fisk, clapping his massive hands the size of dustbin lids together.

"Thank you Spider-Man, excellent work." Fisk said, approaching the hero, "I could use someone like you in my organization. If your ever looking for a job, don't hesitate to give me a call.", holding out his hand.

Spider-Man shook it, who just now seemed to realize how much taller and wider the business man was compared to him.

"Thank you for the kind offer, but I have to decline." Spider-Man said, and once he let go of the massive hand, he shot a web to the ceiling, "After all, action is my reward." and he swung out of the window before the cops could arrive.
