AN: Finally, an update! This one's muse is not giving me a clear direction on where to go, but we'll find it.

Haven sighed, leaning back in her desk chair. The last day of school was a half-day, the afternoon designated for a carnival. Luckily, she didn't have to chaperone it. The thought of hyped up teenagers racing each other through the various stalls and games did not sound like fun. Lyla was over at the elementary school chaperoning for her kid's carnival.

"Hey kiddo, need a hand?"

Haven whipped her head over seeing her colleague Tony. He had been the one to show her the ropes, where to get supplies, and how to avoid slapping over indulgent parents. Giving the man a nod, the two started the long process of packing, logging, and wiping down the science rooms.

Tony chatted about his summer plans, something about a road trip around Florida. Haven wasn't paying much attention. She missed Happy something fierce, and she was worried about him. It didn't take a genius to figure out the men in the club where divided over this new business, and something like that could mean injuries or even death when on a run. Plus, Lyla was still being weird. Haven was thinking it was something domestic, even though Lyla said it was about the club.

"Haven are you even listening?" Tony asked giving her a nudge.

"No, sorry," Haven shrugged. Tony eyed her.

"Trouble in outlaw paradise?" Haven glared at him. She rarely talked about her personal life at work, but her fellow teachers knew she was with Happy.

"No, just thinking of my own summer plans," Haven diverted. Tony looked like he didn't believe her but wasn't going to push it.

"You still gonna work on the cancer ward at Saint Thomas?" He asked stacking the last chair.

"Yeah, start in a week to work with the breast cancer patients," Haven said running her eyes

down the lab list. Everything was finished.

It took Haven another hour before she was home. Phil followed her into the house and started putting away the groceries. Haven chuckled at that. The man was taking his orders from Happy very seriously, even trying to go above and beyond. Haven swore if Happy told the prospect to scrub the floor with Q-tips Phil would go and buy a dozen boxes to start.

"Aunt Hae guess what?" Piper ran into the house hopped up on sugar and excitement. Haven caught the excited boy around the waist.

"What honey?"

"It's SUMMER!" He yelled making the dogs bark.

"I know!" Haven jokingly bemoaned dramatically leaning back.

"I want all of you to go wash up, we'll order pizza tonight," Lyla said coming into the kitchen. The kids went down the hall allowing the women to breathe, Phil wisely excusing himself to the porch taking the dogs with him.

"Ly, what is up with you? The guys get home today and…" Haven trailed. Lyla sighed grabbing the wine. She poured herself a generous glass before speaking.

"I'm scared of this new business. I can't lose Opie…and he wants more kids and I can't have more," Lyla mumbled gulping down half her glass.

Haven's heart broke for the woman. That was some rough shit, especially not being able to have more kids. Now she understood that first night better. Haven wrapped her friend in her arms.

"I'm sorry, especially me being a bit snappy at you. I'm not happy about club shit either. But honey…have you talked to Opie about this?" Haven ran a soothing hand through the blonde's hair.

"No…before the club went inside, I had an abortion. It was Opie's…after that I had complications with some infections..and he doesn't know," Lyla had tears by the end of her confession.

Haven just held her friend. While her and Happy had never talked about having kids, to not be able to have that choice anymore tore at her heart. Lyla wrapped her arms around Haven's waist and cried into her shoulder. The kids came in looking scared.

"It's ok babies, Lyla is just having a hard day," Haven said. The kids joined the hug and the five stood there for a long while.

That was what Chibs, Happy and Opie walked into. The men looked at each other confused, not wanting to break the silence. Atticus and Boo did that for them, barking and nudging the kids. When they saw Opie they ran to him with shouts of "Dad!", even Piper making Lyla give a watery smile.

Haven yelped as Happy scooped her up his lips finding her in a hungry kiss. He may not know what chick-shit her and Lyla were dealing with but he knew he needed her. Haven moaned into the kiss, scratching the back of Happy's neck the way she knew he liked it.

"Welcome home babe," she said when he let her breathe. Happy smirked setting her down.

"C'mere my love," Chibs said opening his arms. He had only stopped by to say hello. Haven gave him a hug and smile.

"Glad you are back da, and whole." Chibs kissed her forehead before ruffling the kids hair and leaving.

Lyla excused herself to wash up, asking Opie to order pizza for everyone. Opie shot Haven a look over his kids heads. The silent question hung in the air.

"Cupcake…" he started but Haven held up her hand. This was not a conversation for kid ears.

"Daddy did you bring us something?" Ellie asked trying to search his pockets. Opie chuckled at her.

"I did sweat pea, let me and your aunt go get it," Opie said. Happy narrowed his eyes at that but decided he didn't want to get involved in domestic drama.

"Uncle Happy can you order the pizza? I'm gonna die of starvation," Kenny complained.

Happy started at that…none of the club kids had ever called him uncle. Haven gave him a twisted grin, knowing the kids would soon have him wrapped around their fingers like with her. Happy just pulled out his phone.

Once out at the bikes, Ope rummaged through his saddle bag. Pulling out a book he handed it over. Haven actually squealed at that, but she would deny it. Flipping it open she started pursuing the pages.

"The Devil's Highway…looks really good. Thank you!" Haven hugged the tall man.

"Now tell me what's up," Opie said getting the rest of his stuff.

"Butter me up with books? I see how you are…" Haven scoffed. "But really, this isn't about the club, outside both of us being a bit scared about this new business. And it is something that needs to come from Lyla. I can tell you she is pretty anxious about it, but she loves you, like a lot. She just doesn't want to disappoint you."

Opie nodded, trying to understand what the sister of his heart was telling him. Obviously he would talk to his wife in private. And he should get the little brunette to her old man. Happy had been overly bitchy on the way home, the lack of affection from his old lady clearly bugging him.

Happy was glad to see that whatever Haven and Opie talked about would be further addressed at the Winston household and not his. Lyla seemed better after dinner, snuggling deep into Opie's side. Somehow he had wound up with Haven under one arm and Ellie leaning on his left shoulder working on the puzzle book her father had brought her. The oddly domestic scene threw Happy for a loop. He had wanted a hot and heavy homecoming with Haven. But somehow this seemed to be what he needed more.

Around 9:30 the Winston's left and Haven went out with the dogs. Happy picked up the kitchen. He moaned when he felt Haven slide her hands around his waist and down to his bulge. "I've been waiting for this all night Happy. I love our family, but my body missed you. I hate sleeping without you…I hate not waking up to your kisses…please baby…" she whispered.

Happy didn't need to be told twice. He turned grabbing Haven into a deep kiss. Picking her up, he decided the bedroom was too far away. Spreading her legs, he dropped his pants and pushed up her dress, glad she had worn something with easy access. When he slid into her, he finally felt settled and relaxed.
