Chapter 20
Duckburg Part 1
After saving Danville, Molly and Libby continued their journey to stop the darkness. Despite all the weird stuff they have encountered on their journey, Molly was still surprised that Libby was working with a platypus, who was a secret agent.
"I still can't believe you were a secret agent! And working with a platypus too!" Molly exclaimed.
"Yeah. I would find it hard to believe if it didn't just happen. Sorry I couldn't tell you before, Molly." Libby apologized.
"That's okay, Libby! I know that you only wanted to save Danville from the darkness!" Molly explained as she understood why Libby needed to keep O.W.C.A a secret. "Besides, you were a pretty amazing secret agent!"
At that moment, Libby began to blush before bringing her attention towards the window. That was when Libby found something in the distance. Floating in the distance was another town for her and Molly to explore.
"Molly, look! There is another world for us to explore! Do you want to check it out?" Libby asked.
Molly nodded. "Of course! Let's see what we'll find in this world!"
Molly then guided the Mollibby to the new world before landing the gummi ship. After getting out of the gummi ship to explore the town, Molly and Libby looked around, feeling that something wasn't quite right, and it wasn't the town that bothered them. They turned to face each other before they suddenly let out a couple of screams and jumped back in shock.
It was at that moment when Molly and Libby realized that they had been turned into anthropomorphic ducks. Molly was covered in red feathers, while Libby was covered in light-green feathers.
"Molly/Libby, is that you?" Molly and Libby asked in unison, surprised by their new appearances.
After getting over her shock, Libby took a look at her new form. "What happened to us? Are we ducks now?"
"This must be what we look like in this world." Molly guessed. "Let's not let this transformation bother us. Maybe we can take a look around and see if there are any Heartless here."
"Good idea!" Libby agreed before she followed Molly through the town.
As Molly and Libby explored this new world, they came across a mansion, overlooking the entire city. The girls slowly approached the mansion, surprised how big it is compared to all the other homes in town.
"This is a fancy looking mansion, Molly!" Libby commented.
Molly nodded in agreement. "I know! I wonder who owns this mansion."
Suddenly, Molly and Libby took notice of some Heartless nearby. The Heartless rushed towards the mansion as Molly and Libby gave chase. After the Heartless sneaked in the mansion, the girls decided to warn the mansion's owner of what was going on.
They made their way up to the front door and rang the doorbell. After waiting for a few minutes, the door opened, revealing a ghost butler named, Duckworth. At first, Molly and Libby were surprised that a ghost answered the door, but since Molly already has a ghost for a best friend, anyway, she wasn't too weirded out by it.
"Yes? May I help you?" Duckworth asked.
"Hi, sorry to bother you! Libby and I were just taking a stroll around town, and we noticed these shadow creatures enter this mansion." Molly explained.
Duckworth stared at the girls in suspicion, having just met them. "While I appreciate the concern, we are not worried. This mansion has the best security system money could buy, and we would be aware if there were intruders here."
Suddenly, alarms in the mansion started going off, and Molly and Libby knew exactly why. Seeing that there were intruders, Duckworth transformed into a demon form, causing Molly and Libby to jump back in shock.
"All intruders must leave!" Duckworth yelled before flying back in the mansion to deal with the Heartless.
After getting over their surprise of the demon they just saw, Molly and Libby decided that they should help out. They both summoned their keyblades and rushed into the mansion to deal with the Heartless.
It was at that moment, when Molly and Libby took notice of a mysterious figure staring at them from the stairs. They didn't get a good look at the figure, but it looked like a duck to them.
"Who are you?" Libby asked the figure before it sprinted away.
"Wait! It's too dangerous to wander off with the Heartless around!" Molly yelled as she and Libby gave chase to the mysterious duck.
Not wanting the duck to run into any Heartless, Molly and Libby did their best to keep up until they were led into a dark room.
Confused, Molly looked around, wondering where the duck went. "I don't understand. This was where the duck was at, right?"
"Molly, I don't like this! There's something about this that isn't right!" Libby started to worry, desperately wanting to leave the room.
Unfortunately, any hope of escape was gone, the moment the door shut. The two friends were soon taken off guard when they felt something tackle them to the floor.
The next thing they knew, Molly and Libby were tied together with a rope that left them both hanging upside down. That was when the duck who they followed finally revealed herself. Despite hanging upside down in a dark room, Molly and Libby could get a good look at their captor, who was a white peking duck. She had on a blue vest over her pink shirt and wore a purple skirt, along with a pink bow in her hair.
"Alright, who are you, and where did you come from?" the duck demanded.
Frightened by this stranger, Molly and Libby answered immediately, not wanting to upset her any further.
"My name is Molly McGee and this is my girlfriend, Libby Stein-Torres!" Molly answered without any hesitation.
"We don't want any trouble. We just want to protect everyone from these shadow creatures that are attacking!" Libby explained.
"A likely story! I have seen those weird key-shaped swords you were carrying! How do I know that you weren't the ones who summoned those creatures in the first place?" the duck asked in suspicion.
"We're not lying! The Heartless are going to keep attacking until we find the keyhole to save this town!" Molly defended.
"Sounds suspicious to me! Who do you really work for? You'd better start talking, or else!"
"I swear, we're telling the truth! Please don't hurt us!" Libby begged, now more frightened than ever.
Before the interrogation could continue any further, a trio of other ducks entered the room.
"Webby, stop! They are clearly harmless!" The duck in the red shirt and hat yelled before approaching Molly and Libby. "I am so sorry about Webby! Here, let me get you down!"
The duck then took out a pocket knife and cut the rope that held Molly and Libby, which left them both crashing to the floor.
Molly felt dizzy from the fall, but quickly recovered before she said, "Thanks for the help!"
"I'm just glad you two are alright! My name is Huey, and these two are my brothers!" The duck in the red hat introduced.
"My name is Dewey, and this is Louie." The duck in the blue shirt said as he introduced his brother in the green hoodie. "You can probably already figure him out."
"Yeah. I'm the evil triplet." the duck named, Louie casually replied.
Now that everything has calmed down, Molly and Libby decided to explain why they came here.
"Sorry we came to this mansion unannounced." Libby apologized. "We just noticed that this place was being taken over by the Heartless."
"The Heartless? Are they those freaky bug-like things?" Dewey asked.
Molly nodded in response. "Yes! Do you know where we can find them?"
"It's kind of hard to miss them. They are crawling all over the mansion." Louie pointed out.
"Things can get really bad if they make it to Scrooge's office!" Webby realized. "We'd better stop them before they cause anymore trouble!"
Everyone nodded in agreement before they rushed out the room to stop the Heartless. Just like Louie said, the Heartless were everywhere. Molly and Libby summoned their keyblades and defeated as many Heartless as possible while keeping their new friends safe.
Surprisingly, the ducks were able to defend themselves really well, especially Webby, who was fighting back with a barrage of punches and kicks. After searching each room for the Heartless, Molly and Libby suddenly heard a bunch of noise from a room down the hall.
"What room is this?" Molly asked as she cautiously approached the room.
"Uh oh! This is Uncle Scrooge's office!" Huey explained. "He must be in trouble! We'd better help!"
Wasting no time, Molly and her friends opened the door to the office to see that it was also infested by Heartless. Surrounded by the Heartless was a Scottish duck in a red coat and black top hat. Molly and Libby rushed over to save him, but were taken off guard when Scrooge swung his cane at the Heartless.
"Stay back you sinister shadows!" Scrooge yelled as he fought back to the best of his ability.
Despite how well he was fighting, Molly and Libby knew that he would be outnumbered soon. They both helped out by swinging their keyblades as well. The fight went on until one of the Heartless pounced Scrooge and took a dime from around his neck.
"My lucky dime! Give it back!" Scrooge demanded, giving chase towards the Heartless.
"Don't worry! We'll help!" Molly said before she and Libby slashed the Heartless with their keyblades, retrieving the dime.
Before long, all of the Heartless were defeated. Once the Heartless were gone, Molly handed the dime over to Scrooge.
"Thank you for getting my dime back! I don't know what I would have dome without it!" Scrooge thanked, grateful for Molly and Libby's help.
"You seem to be really attached the that dime! I can actually relate! Coins can be pretty lucky, especially on Friday the 13th." Libby commented, remembering the day where Molly lent her her good luck with the help of a lucky penny.
"Ah, but this dime is more valuable than you think, lass! This dime is the first dime I have ever made! It inspired me to work hard and become the richest duck in Duckburg!" Scrooge explained before he placed the dime back around his neck. "I don't believe we have met! Who are you?"
"My name is Molly!" Molly introduced.
"And I am Libby! Molly and I have been trying to stop the Heartless from taking over. This is the first time we have seen them trying to take a dime, though!" Libby noticed.
Truthfully, Scrooge was curious about this too. "Hmm! If they were after my dime, Magica no doubt had something to do with this."
"Who's Magica?" Molly raised a confused eyebrow.
"Magica is a powerful sorceress and one of my greatest enemies. I will explain everything, but let's make sure there are no more of those shadow creatures in my mansion."
With that, Scrooge led Molly and Libby out the office. They followed Scrooge through the hall, none of them aware that someone was spying on them from a window.
Staring from the window was Magica, herself. Magica was a green duck with short black hair and black robes. She was shocked that her plan had failed as she wasn't expecting Molly and Libby to show up and save Scrooge.
"Curses! I was this close to getting that dime!" Magica yelled.
Suddenly, Magica heard footsteps behind her. "I tried to warn you. Those two are more powerful than they appear."
Magica turned to see that the person who was speaking to her was Xehanort. Just like Molly and Libby, Xehanort was a duck in this world too. He had on his regular attire, but was covered in silver colored feathers.
"If I wanted your opinion, I would have asked for it! You were supposed to help me get that dime!" Magica yelled.
"In time, the dime will be yours!" Xehanort assured. "But I'm curious. Why would you want the very object that you were trapped in for 15 years?"
"I want that dime to become more powerful than ever, so I can finally bring an end to Scrooge McDuck and his family once and for all!" Magica answered.
"So, you desire more power? A wise decision! After we deal with the two keyblade wielders, you can have as much power as you wish!" Xehanort replied.
With that, Xehanort and Magica turned to leave. As Molly and Libby were getting to know Scrooge and his family better, their enemies were secretly plotting their downfall in the meantime.
