It had been a few days since the Hunters had made their last stop, since then they have been on the trail of a ferocious monster that they were tracking.

However it seems most of them were also getting burnt out it seems and so Artemis allowed to make camp for the night.

As the Hunters went around preparing to gather supplies, one of them was in her tent doing contemplation.

Did Reyna Ramirez-Arellano ever expect herself to be one the followers of a Greek virgin goddess after everything that she had experienced?

No. But that is what made it so surprising to her.

When she first arrived at Camp Jupiter, she felt like an alien. She had just recently had a huge fight with Hylla and she was on her own for the first time in her life.

Then she met him.

Jason Grace.

If someone told her that he was a god in mortal disguise, then Reyna would have believed them considering how brightly he shone.

It seems he was everything that a Son of Jupiter should be: kind, helpful, powerful, respectful and most of all heroic.

It was no wonder that she got a huge crush on him. With Jason's help she managed adjust well to Camp Jupiter and its rigid nature even learning her parentage as the daughter of Bellona, a Roman war goddess.

Finally, it felt like she had somewhere to belong: not in the suffocating heat of San Juan, not in the mystical island of Circe's and certainly not as one of Blackbeard's prisoners.

She felt like she truly belonged at Camp Jupiter and she had Jason to thank for that.

So it was no wonder she managed to gain a huge crush on him.

Soon she and Jason became incredibly close and eventually they both became co-prateors together.

Reyna finally thought this her chance to finally to finally to get closer to Jason and everything seemed to be perfect for a time.

But then Jason disappeared, all thanks to Juno (Or Her Most Annoying Majesty as the rest of her friends would call her) and she was left with Percy.

At first, she tried to make Percy into her replacement for Jason, even offering him the praetorship as a replacement for Jason. Yeah looking back it looked silly and Reyna felt bad about it but she was desperate and was willing to do anything to save the camp.

Percy of course turned her down and then helped with saving the Camp anyways making Reyna feel even dumber for her previous attempt.

But her troubles didn't end, soon Jason and his new friends (which included Annabeth, who would become one of Reyna's closest friends to date) arrived and it was awkward as Hades.

Especially when she saw Jason had a new girlfriend in Piper.

She tried to be cool but she was hurting inside, and then those damned Eidolons possessed Leo and made him attack Camp and then all Hades broke loose from there.

She didn't want to go after the Seven, but Octavian and his followers wanted blood and Reyna knew that she could satiate them for long. But yet there was a nagging voice in her head that said she could have if Jason was by her side.

So she and the rest of the legion tried to track down the heroes of the prophecy until they cornered them in Charleston. She didn't get to talk with Jason but instead confront Annabeth who was on a quest for the Athena Parthenos that could potential reconcile the feud between the Greeks and Romans.

After the battle she asked around if anyone had seen Jason, and she learned that he and Piper were fully in love breaking her heart even further. It didn't help she was also in the city were Venus had told her that she would never find love.

With the heroes heading into the forbidden lands, Octavian decided they should turn their attention to Camp Half-Blood in New York. Reyna didn't particularly want to do it but she could feel the powerlessness in her situation so they went to New York.

When they arrived, she got a good look at the camp and wondered how Jason could simply throw everything they had known for this place!? She couldn't understand it.

However the most she saw of the camp, she understood it's appeal. It felt like a normal camp, one kids might go for summer, not like Camp Jupiter which felt like a training ground for Roman soldiers.

She loathed to admit it but she could why Jason to be drawn to this place.

Finally after meeting with Rachel, she decided to go after the Seven in the Forbidden Lands. When she finally met up with them it was decided that she would bring back the Athena Parthenos back to Camp Half-Blood as well with Nico and Coach Hedge.

On the journey back, she bonded with Nico and learned how Jason had helped him with problem that he was dealing with though he was reluctant to talk about.

Finally, she brought the Athena Parthenos back to Camp Half-Blood and together with the rift healed, the Greeks and Romans were able to defeat Gaea.

After the battle, she talked with Jason who told her of his decision to stay at Camp Half-Blood which she understood. She had gotten over her crush but she knew he would always be one of her closest friends.

She thought that things we be peaceful, or at least as peaceful life can be for a demigod. But she was wrong.

When Apollo (now in his mortal form) and Meg McCaffery made to Camp Jupiter with a coffin she wondered what was going.

Then her entire world was shattered when she learned that Jason was inside the coffin, dead.

She couldn't believe it…. that after everything that had happened that was how his story ended. It didn't seem fair.

That is why she decided after repelling the attack from the Emperors. She would join the Hunters.

She couldn't stay at Camp Jupiter anymore, it just held too many painful memories for her.

She finally came out of her tent and stared at the fire, she wondered if everything Jason did and everything he accomplished was for nothing now that he was dead.

The flame flickered as it roared to life.

No, it wasn't. Reyna decided that she would keep his memory alive if it was the last thing she ever did.
