Part 55

Caitlin and Ronnie sat in the last row of Marlize DeVoe's lecture on the introduction of robotics. Caitlin glanced at Ronnie who looked mildly interested in the subject. She was bored only because she had very little interest in the subject. The bell rang and the students headed out. Once the last student left the two scientists headed down to the front of the auditorium.

"Mrs. DeVoe? I am Dr. Caitlin Snow-Allen and this is my colleague Ronnie Raymond. We are from Star Labs. We were hoping that you might be able to recommend some students for us to recruit for when it reopens next summer." Said Caitlin

"I don't know of any right now. Though if you have any information to leave I will make it available to my students." Said Marlize

"Of course." Caitlin pulled some pamphlets out of her bag handing them to Marlize making sure to touch her with the memory ring.

"Dr. Snow-Allen, I take it the real reason you are here is to find out if my husband is planning his enlightenment like in the other universe." Said Marlize

"Yes." Said Caitlin

"You have taken a risk by giving me the memories of my counterpart from that universe."

"True. But it is a risk that all of us agreed was worth taking."

"You were right to. Clifford still wants to go through with his plan. Though he has not told me how he is going to do it. Without Mr. Allen going into the speed force he has no way I know of to create the metas he needs."

"He wouldn't be able to use all the same people anyway. Not all of them are in Central City."

"So you tracked them down already."

"Yes."

"Do you have a plan to deal with Clifford?"

"We have a metahuman cure. We thought you could help us give it to him under the guise of a flu shot." Said Ronnie

"I am willing to do that. Though I have to say that you being the wife of the Flash and not Ms. West is a bit of a surprise. So is Mr. Raymond being alive." Said Marlize

"Well we found a different way to stop the Reverse Flash." Said Caitlin

"Yes, by using Supergirl's Kryptonian technology to send him to the Phantom Zone. Though if removing Clifford's meta powers doesn't work you may want to consider that as an option."

"We will think about it. When would be a good time to try this? We need to be sure that everything is set up." Said Caitlin

"How about Friday morning? Just name the time and place. I can get him there then."

"How about 10am The Central City Community Medical Clinic." Said Caitlin

"Isn't that the one run by your father in law?" Asked Marlize

"Yes. We have more than one backup plan in place just to be safe." Said Caitlin

"Well you do have multiple speedsters on your team as well as Mr. Ramon."

"Very true."

"By the way is there a reason Ms. West is being kept in the dark?"

"We felt no reason to get her involved."

"Though her fiance is."

"Only to a very limited degree."

"Very well. I will get Clifford to the clinic on Friday."

"Thank you Mrs. DeVoe." Said Ronnie

Ronnie and Caitlin left. Once Ronnie had walked Caitlin to her car he spoke.

"That went well." Said Ronnie

"Yeah. Are you going back to Star?"

"No, I am going to go and take care of something."

"Ok see you later."

"Cait, just be careful. Barry will be pissed not to mention your sister if something happens to you."

"I know. I am going to stop by Jitters on my way back."

"Do you really think that having caffeine is a good idea when you are pregnant with two babies that might be speedsters?"

"There is decaf or tea. But I am actually going because I want some of that strawberry cheesecake they have."

"Poor Barry having to deal with you and your cravings."

"Watch it. Just wait until you have to deal with a pregnant Charlie. She gets really cranky when she is sick."

"Maybe we should adopt."

"That's right I forgot you hate the sight of puke."

"Don't remind me. Or I will remind you of your love for doing karaoke when you are drunk. It happened more than once in college."

"We said we would never talk about that ever."

Ronnie laughed and headed off. Caitlin climbed into her car and drove to Jitters. She headed in and got in line.

"Caitlin?"

Caitlin turned to see Iris had joined the line behind her.

"Oh hey Iris. How are things at the paper?" Asked Caitlin

"Not bad. But my editor is on me about getting an interview with the Flash. It is like he thinks I actually know him or something."

"Why does he think that?"

"I have no idea. I mean yes I have met him. But I don't know how to get in touch with him."

"Wish I could help."

"Caitlin you know who he is don't you? I mean my sources claim he has been seen near Star Labs."

"I will tell you that he has come to me for help. But I am a doctor and if I know who he is under that mask I can't tell you."

"I don't expect you to. But you can call him if you need help right?"

"Iris, I can't tell you that."

Just then an armed robber came in. Caitlin slowly reached for her phone and hit her panic button. Less than five seconds later the Flash came in, disarmed the robber and tied him up. The police came in just as the Flash left. Joe and Eddie walked over to Caitlin and Iris.

"You two alright?" Asked Joe

"Fine dad. I mean the Flash showed up before anything happened." Said Iris

"Yeah we are fine Detective West." Said Caitlin

You hit your panic button right? Thought Joe

Yes. Joe, I need to talk to Barry. But we have some news to tell you. I mean the team already knows. But the rest of our friends and my parents need to know. Thought Caitlin

"We will need statements from both of you." Said Joe

"Of course." Said Caitlin

Just then Caitlin's phone rang. She pulled it out and smiled.

"It's Barry, I better take it." Said Caitlin

"Go ahead."

Caitlin walked away from Joe answering her phone.

"Barry, I am fine. Before you say anything I was craving some of that strawberry cheesecake they have."

"You weren't going to get coffee with that were you?"

"If I had it would have been decaf. Barry, I will not do anything to put our family in danger."

"I know. But I was so scared that you were going to get hurt."

"I love you. But you don't need to worry about me. I will never intentionally put myself in danger."

"But you do have a habit of stumbling into trouble."

"Not my fault. Barry, I promise after I give Joe and Eddie my statement I will get back to the Lab."

"Hurry love you Cait."

Caitlin hung up and headed back over to Joe.
