Sorting things Out

Maghelena's POV

As I arrived to the Cullen's home, everyone left to give me and Alice some privacy. Well as much privacy as you can get with a psychic and a mind reader. Alice took me to the less used room at the Cullen's house; the kitchen. I sat in one of the high chairs, she sat on the other one, her face turned in my direction but she wasn't looking at me.

She didn't say a word so I started talking, "Alice, I'm not here to ask for your understanding" I waited for an answer she didn't gave so I continued.

"I'm here to let you know that I'm really sorry for what happened between me and Jasper, and to assure you that it won't happen again" she didn't answer again, so I started to tell her my reasons.

"I'm going to tell you everything since the begging" I started, finally she raised her head and looked in my general direction.

I sighed and continued, "It was twenty-five years ago that Leroy, my mate was killed by Jane. He was the only family I had in the whole world" I said "I wasn't there when he was killed so I couldn't do anything to protect him like he so many times protected me" I concluded pain in my voice.

"That doesn't mean that when I met the girls in Dartmouth I wasn't happy, yes, I was but when I was alone I was depressed. Nikki, Akylah, Myosotis, Joel and Gabriella had lives and sometimes we separated and I was alone." I added, Alice then for the first time interrupted.

"And what the hell does Jasper has to do with all that?" Alice asked irritated.

"He is one of the reasons that made this huge mistake take place" I said.

"When I first met Jasper I liked the way he was with me, I mean he was a gentleman and very friendly" I stated

"I admired the way he loved you and the way he treated you Alice, as I also admired the way all you Cullen's love each other. When Gabriella found love again with Edward, after what Omar and Julian did to her, I also admired the love Edward had for her; and the way she loved him back" I said.

"Gabriella and Edward not just in love, they're mates in case you didn't know" Alice told me her tone cold.

I knew, she didn't have to rub it in.

"Don't you see it, Alice? I envy you guys, but not in the bad way is more like admiration" I finished.

She then raised her head and gave a quick glance in my direction, she was still angry. A few seconds passed and Alice spoke again, "Again, what jasper has to do with that Maghelena?" Alice asked

"And please get to the point because I'm losing my patience, I know that you have a story but I've heard enough. I want you to tell me why with all the vampires and men that there are in the world you chose Jasper" She said sharply.

I was trying to be cordial but I wasn't justifying myself or actions, I wasn't making it easier for Jasper to win her back either; I was telling her the truth behind why I had various intimate encounters with her husband, and she was taking an evasive reaction. Still I answered her question.

"I was in pain and he took it away, for the first time after twenty-five years there was no pain in me and it was because Jasper was helping me. After three days Jasper decided to ask me the reason why I felt that way the whole time" I said since she didn't comment.

"I told him my story" I added.

"Alice, Jasper helped me so much that I just couldn't stay away, because when he wasn't around me the pain was always coming back. I asked Jasper to help me remember other emotions, and in that "experiment" I was transmitting him everything double, I mean whenever Jasper used his power on me I made him feel twice of what he sent me, it was like a reflection but with magnification" she just sat there listening.

"Besides, the first time we saw each other he said that he couldn't help me because he was your husband" I told her.

"He said that" she asked, I nodded.

"Gabriella and Edward said that you manipulated him" she told me.

"I did, I compelled him to be with me, I told him what to do, what to say and where to go" I explained.

"I did it so many times his mind started to slip" I told her.

"He believed I was you" I stated.

"Will he stay like that forever?" she asked worry on her tone.

"No, it should wear off in a few days. It shouldn't take more than a few weeks" I told her.

She was silent for a moment, I fidgeted with my fingers while I waited for her to speak whatever was on her mind.

"Instead of hooking up with jasper, why didn't you fight with Jane?" she said

"Alice I can't just go into Volterra alone and fight Jane! That is a suicidal mission, I mean the Volturi's have guards! What the hell is wrong with you?" I snapped.

"Well maybe you are right" she said

"But still why didn't you try to get your revenge?" she asked

"Alice" I said "I want my revenge but now that I think about it, that wouldn't bring Leroy back so is a lost cause that I risk myself that way" I told her softly.

We were silent again for a moment I sighed deeply this was harder than I thought.

"Alice have you ever wished to take the time back and erase so many things?" I said. "You tell me you are the hag." Alice told me with a sever voice in a cold tone.

I did not react to that in madness I just nodded.

"Well Alice, If I had that power I would just go back in time twenty-five years just to let Jane kill me" I said to her.

"I'm the reason why they killed Leroy so I should be dead too. And since everyone I love here is mad at me, then what else is for me to do? I will go there and let them do whatever they want with me" I said.

Alice just sat there, and then she submerged herself in deep thought, her eyes glazed over and looked like a statue, mute and immobile. When she spoke, what she said caught me off guard.

"No!" Alice screamed jumping off the stool and taking me in her arms.

"You can't, I won't let you!" she screamed.

"Do you have a multiple personality disorder?" I asked "I saw you going to the Volturi" Alice choked.

"What's wrong with you Alice did you "eat" too much sugar, I have to die, I deserve it."

"Look whatever happened with Jasper…was a mistake but you can put an end to your life for that" Alice said her face was like a little girls face, when is trying to convince somebody to give her candy.

"I have no one to live for, I'm alone, don't you get it Alice? I don't want to live like this anymore, not with this pain and this never-ending loneliness"

Alice took my face in her hands and looked into my eyes.

"Mag, ignoring what happened, you are still somewhat part of this family, we love you" she said trying to convince me.

"You can't leave Gabriella now; you know her more than any of us. She needs you and I couldn't see her face again if you die. That would definitely break her" Alice added, a micro second after that, Edward was in kitchen.

"Maghelena, why did you thought about dying I was listening to the conversation…" Edward said

"Wait?" I stopped him "you where eavesdropping?" I exclaimed.

"no, not eavesdropping per se, Alice, wanted me to be listening just in case; but then you said you were going to see the Volturi, and I said out loud Gabriella broke in a hysteric attack" Edward said, Alice frowned.

"Esme is with her" Edward reassured us both, he then sighed a bit annoyed and added

"Can you just accept that Alice is not the kind of person that keeps a fight for more than a year" Edward said, I smiled a little, I knew that.

"Alice, forgive me for this" Edward said looking at her.

"Edward?" Alice said in a warning tone "sorry, but she has to know" he told his favorite sister.

"What?" I asked

"When Alice accepted this conversation she had already forgiven you, she just wanted to hear you say that you were sorry, so now, get this clear, You-belong-in-this-family!" Edward said I just nodded.

"Now go and try to calm Gabriella, because if she stays that way because of you I won't be as forgiving as Alice" Edward ordered me.

I looked at Alice, and asked "do you really forgive me?" I said.

"I'm working on it, knowing that he was able to forget about me and be with someone else so easily hurts" she told me.

"That's understandable, but like I said he was compelled to do it. I made him do it" I reassured her.

She sighed, "I saw your future, but, Edward, already told me your past, and I know it won't happen again" Alice told me.

"How can I ever pay your kindness, Alice?" I asked, Edward answered this question. "Go and help Esme, calm Bella before she finds a pillow and kills it" Edward said humor on his tone.

"Okay" I said, and went to calm my best friend…

She was outside in the lawn, Emmett was holding her shoulders while Esme held her face, she was fidgeting with both and as Edward said she was in hysterics indeed.

"Gabriella, it's okay, everything is fine" I shouted she heard me "let me go!" she cried, Emmett released her, she then ran in my direction I opened my arms to catch her.

"Maggie, what the hell where you thinking; are you nuts?" Gabriella said embracing me tight, "don't you ever do that to me again" she added.

"I'm sorry Gabriella, sorry for making you return early from your honeymoon. And I'm sorry because of the pain and stress I put you in" I told her she released me.

"Don't you ever think of dying! She said.

"What I'm going to do without you?" Gabriella asked me.

"Okay, okay" I sighed she smiled "so is everything okay? I mean between you and Alice?" She asked.

"Yes, Gabriella, she will forgive me in time" I exclaimed, Gabriella's smile grew wider and she was herself again.

"Fantastic!" my best friend exclaimed.

Edward and Alice were outside also, Gabriella ran to the arms of her mate, he embraced her warmly Alice joined them in the embrace.

Esme then came to where I was and stroked my face, I sighed at her touch.

In that moment Rosalie appeared with Jasper, Alice went to him and gave him a quick hug he wrapped his arms around her surprised. He then glanced in my direction I just nodded he understood that we were somewhat forgiven.

After that we all then relaxed and went to the living room, Bella was in Edwards arms and Alice was sitting beside jasper, but their bodies weren't touching. I guess they had some things to workout still.

That night I made my departure to Port Angeles; I said goodbye to Bella and the rest of the Cullen's. I was going to make a trip to Germany but I wasn't going to my house, I was going abroad into a valley just to think. I promised Gabriella that I was only going for a few days, but truth is I didn't know if I was ever coming back.

"Bye, Mag" Gabriella told me

"I'll be back soon" I promised, I would try and comply with it.
