The Daily Lives of The Owl Familia:
A Run-in With the Grandparents

Summary: Just after their run-in with Tibbles, the Familia had another run-in with some familiar faces.

The Owl Familia and company were still looking where Tibbles had disappeared and thus were unaware that two people were walking up to them.

"Well, isn't this a surprise," a familiar voice said warmly.

The group looked to the right and saw Gwen and Dell Clawthorne walking up to them. Luz squealed happily and ran to her witch grandparents.

"Abuela! Abuelo!"

Gwen laughed as she kneeled down and caught Luz in a warm hug. "How's my favorite granddaughter doing?" she asked warmly.

Luz gently pulled herself from her witch grandmother's hold and offered her a big smile.

"Otay, Abuela!" the "knocked-down" human replied happily.

Gwen just giggled at her cute grandbaby and wrapped her in another hug.

While this was happening, Lilith saw that her daughter was fidgeting. The ex-coven head smiled slightly as she walked up to her parents, Eda, and the current toddlers joining her.

"Mother. Father, what brings you here?" Lilith asked politely.

"We were just in town and happened to see you," Dell replied, grinning much like his youngest daughter.

Eda cocked an eyebrow and looked at her human daughter. Her parents' house was nearly halfway across the city and with her dad's state of being, she doubted their meeting was just by chance.

Still, she said nothing and instead focused on her niece. Lilith wasn't the only one to see Amity's nervousness and could guess what was going through her niece's head. She began to debut the best way to help Amity when Luz decided to act.

The "knocked-down" human broke free of her witch grandmother and hurried over to her girlfriend.

"Am-Am!" Luz chirped happily and grabbed her girlfriend by the hand.

Amity's face went scarlet as the human brought her to her new grandmother. The "knocked-down" witch's fidgeting got worse as she looked at the ground, all to avoid looking the elder witch in the eyes.

Luz wouldn't have any of this and got behind her girlfriend. She gave her girlfriend a push just hard enough that Amity nearly fell. Thankfully, Gwen was there to catch her in a warm hug. Amity's face went even redder, but she hesitantly returned the hug.

Eda and Lilith smiled at this as the ex-coven head moved closer to her sister. She quickly took out a camera from Eda's hair and snapped a quick picture.

The new grandmother and granddaughter broke apart after a minute and Amity looked Gwen in the eye.

"No mad?" Amity asked uncertainly.

Gwen just smiled warmly at her second granddaughter. "Of course not, dear," the elder witch said warmly. "I know what was happening with you during that time and I don't hold anything against you."

All the doubts Amity was feeling disappeared right at that moment, and she smiled brightly.

"However," Gwen retorted, her tone turning playful. "You must learn to control that temper of yours."

Gwen wiggled her finger in front of Amity and then bopped her nose. This caused Amity's blush to return slightly, but then she turned defiant.

"No tempew," Amity said, crossing her arms and putting on a cute pout.

Gwen and Dell couldn't help but laugh as the retired crafter looked at his eldest child.

"She may not be your blood, dear, but she's your daughter to a fault," he said with playful warmth. "She's just as fussy as you were at that age."

Gwen nodded and picked up Amity as she stood up. She looked at Lilith with a playful grin as a memory came to the front of her mind.

"She certainly is," Gwen added, "Why, I just remembered the time Sweet Flea didn't want to take a bath for nearly a week."

"MOTHER!" Lilith shrieked. "Please, any other story than that one!"

But the floodgates were open; all the current children were looking at Gwen with eager eyes. Luz was bouncing place, no doubt wanted to hear the story most. Even Eda seemed too interested in the story, as this was something she had never heard before.

Lilith groaned as she realized they were no escaping what was about to happen. So she just resigned herself to her fate.

Gwen made her way to the nearest park bench, Amity on her hips, as she began to recount the tale.

"Believe it or not, Lilith stopped bathing because she thought she didn't need her mother's help to wash her anymore."

Lilith groaned again, partly due to having to relive this moment once more, and partly because Eda pulled out her old human recorder. The ex-coven head blinked when she saw the air to her right ripple.

She stared at the spot for a minute and when she saw nothing, sighed. The embarrassment from the story must be already stressing her out if she's seeing things. She slowly walked over to the group and tried to keep herself composed as the voice of her mother's reached her.

If she had looked a second longer, she would have seen a pair of gold eyes appearing in the spot she was looking at.

You know, I bet Eda would be the only person who wouldn't care about embarrassing stories; she would bask in them because attention would be all on her.
And with this, close out the first part of the "first Weekend" arc. That means we're getting some more Vee and Camila bonding next time. So, stay tuned.
