Chapter 13:

Ocellus Joins Twilight's Band

Dusk continues dragging the Mare until he reached the shore and gently puts the mare down on the ground so she could recover. The mare slowly breathed in and out, taking in the fresh air as she opened her eyes and saw she was brought somewhere.

"Where-Where am I?" The Mare asked, regaining her senses.

"You're safe in Equestria," Dusk replied with a smile. He was happy he could help the mare, whoever she was.

"Wait, Equestria? Why?! Why would you bring me here? And who do you think you are?!" The Mare demanded, wanting to know why Dusk brought her here as the stallion backed up a little. He was surprised at the ingratitude that she was displaying, but he also didn't have time for this.

"Look, I believe I'm the Stallion who just save your life! Now if you excuse me, I have my own problems to get under control," Dusk replied, reminding her that he was the only one who saved her when nopony else would.

"Hmmm, not from where I'm standing," the Mare said with a knowing smirk.

"Then do me a favor and stay downwind!" Dusk demanded as he begins to head off.

But then the Mare got in his way, blocking his path. Dusk decided to go the other way, but the Mare blocked him again and smiled, but Dusk gave her a look getting greatly annoyed by her interference. Dusk tried to jump his way, but the Mare kept on interfering in his way.

Now becoming irritated, Dusk began to light up his horn in anger, ready to fight her. However, the Mare stopped and became puzzled by what Dusk was doing.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

Dusk's glowing horn lowered for what the Mare said sounded familiar to him. Looking at the Mare, Dusk noticed that she has the same mane, coat, eyes, and wings as the filly he met when he was a colt. Then it hit him when Dusk recognized who the mare was…

"Ocellus?" Dusk asked with a smile, feeling happy to see Ocellus again after all these years.

Ocellus smiled too, happy to see Dusk finally recognizes her.

But before any more could be said between the two Alicorns…

"Dusk!" A voice called out as Dusk turned to see his mother, Twilight Sparkle, approaching them.

Twilight whinnies out in ferocity at Ocellus causing her to back away a little while Dusk watches with shock to see his mother whinnying at another one of their kind like that.

"Dusk, thank goodness you're alright, son." Flash said, hugging his son in relief, happy to see his son alight and well.

Dusk hugged his father back but then turned to his mother with an angry look and asked, "Mother, how could you break your promise?".

"It's a good thing I did, Dusk. I almost lost you. No more exploring for you, not ever;" Twilight declared, turning to her son with a glare.

"But Mom, I was doing just fine exploring on my own. Even before Ocellus…" Dusk tried to explain until Twilight interrupted him when she heard the mention of Ocellus's name.

"Ocellus?!" Twilight said, turning to Ocellus with a glare.

Dusk and Flash watched as Twilight and Ocellus whinnied at each other with ferocity and hate towards each other and their horns started glowing intensely ready to engage each other in a fight.

"Twilight!" Flash said, shocked to see his wife acting like this.

Twilight looked at her family but then back at Ocellus, still ready to fight her. But before the two mares/enemies could even engage to begin to fight. Starswirl, who was standing on a rock close by, called out to them as Twilight and Ocellus turned to him.

"Hey, you! How dare you let the Queen's son saved you?" Starswirl said.

"Hold on, my son saved you? Why?" Twilight asked, turning to Ocellus and demanding to know why her own son saved the Outsider. In her eyes that was nothing but suspicious.

"I humbly asked to join your band, your majesty," Ocellus said, bowing to Twilight in respect.

"No! You were banished with the other Outsiders!" Twilight said fiercely at Ocellus as Ocellus backed away a little, reminding her that she is one of the Outsiders and Outsiders are not allowed into Equestria.

"I have left the Outsiders, your majesty. I am a rogue. Judge me now for who I am or am I to be blamed for a crime I didn't commit?" Ocellus said to Twilight, using her words wisely and reminding Twilight that she wasn't involved in a crime that was committed.

Twilight then started pacing back and forth again, wondering if she should let Ocellus join her band or judge her now for who she is. But it was a tough decision that Twilight has never faced before.

"Twilight you owed her for our son saving her life," Flash reminded her as Twilight turned to them and then to Ocellus before pacing again. He was trying to keep the peace in the situation.

"Flash is right, Twilight. We are at her debts and our royal protocols do demand that all debts must be paid. Though in this case, you might want to make an exception," Cadance explained to Twilight while looking at Ocellus getting the same suspicion as Twilight.

"Hmmm…" Twilight said, turning to Ocellus with a smirk as Ocellus stood to look like she'll leave the judging to Twilight and accept whatever Twilight has in mind for her.

After some careful thinking, Twilight calmed down a little and gave her answer.

"My parents' law will prevail. But for now, I reserve judgment. We'll see who you really are, Ocellus," Twilight said as she heads off.

Ocellus turned to Dusk and Flash as Dusk smiled back at her, happy to see his childhood friend joining their band. Flash smiled too to see his wife allow one of the Outsiders over to their kingdom. And that there had been no unnecessary fighting and was resolved peacefully.

"Come along, now. We best be getting home," Cadance said, following behind Twilight. Though she still didn't like the idea of an Outsider joining their band.

Ocellus then turned to Twilight with an evil smirk on her face as she follows the Alicorn Queen and her family to their Castle. At last, she is accepted into their band and none of them have any idea that Ocellus is actually part of an evil plan and they fell for it.
