Chapter 39
Harri didn't miss the glares that were thrown her way from the Gryffindor's. Harri showed off her family jewelry to remind them that she is untouchable. They could comment all the want, but they couldn't physically harm her because of her Lady status that not even Draco had.
Harri noticed that she was being followed almost immediately and she went to an empty classroom where she waited for the culprit to come in.
Harri didn't wait long until the Weasley twins came in with Hermione.
"Gentlemen, Hermione, you know you could have just talked to me in the halls?" Harri questioned.
"And ruin all the fun…" George started.
"Of tailing you?" Fred finished.
"Do you come in peace?" Harri asked without taking out her wand.
"Always" Fred answered. Harri nodded and she came closer to them.
"Then what can I do for you gentleman?"
"it's time you pay up…" Fred sang and gave Harri a mischievous look.
"The favor you owe us." George said eagerly.
"Did Slytherin winning affect you that much?" Harri cackled.
"It wasn't Slytherin winning…" Fred defended themselves.
"It was the after party that…" George continued.
"Was heard by everyone after hours…" Fred yawned as to make his point.
"That has us a bit sore, isn't that right Freddie?" George asked.
"Right you are, Georgie." Fred ended. Harri studied the twins and then nodded.
"Did you only want help sneaking in? or did you also want me to participate?" Harri asked. Fred and George gave each other long looks and then they both nodded.
"We will save your participation for another prank; we just want access to the Slytherin common room." George spoke for the both of them.
"Okay, but remember our agreement, you cannot touch whatever I consider mine. That means my friends and my quidditch teammates." Harri stated. They sighed as they were afraid that she would say that.
"Fine! But everyone else is free game." Fred negotiated.
"You cannot touch me, Nott, Bulstrode, Malfoy, or the quidditch team or the reserve team."
"Deal." They both agreed, choosing not to comment on the company that Harri keeps. All names that were cleared of being Death Eaters in the last war.
"I'll sneak you in my trunk, but you cannot go into my room or leave the living room" as she was certain that Tom would feel the presence of two magical cores close to him and he will have too many questions if she brought them into what Tom thought was her private space.
"Deal." They easily agreed again.
"No snooping around, I will know if you do."
"Deal." They agreed again.
"Just tell me what time and I'll bring my trunk with me." Harri easily went along with the plan, momentarily forgetting about Hermione in the room with them.
"Tonight, at midnight, same classroom where we sneaked you in from." Harri nodded at that.
"I'll see you then boys." Harri agreed. Fred and George walked away muttering their plans and left Hermione and Harri alone in the classroom.
"Har-ri" Hermione's voice cracked when the twins had left. Harri waited for Hermione to continue what she was going to say before she commented anything.
"Why didn't you tell me you were on the quidditch team!? I didn't get to see you fly! I heard you went to the library and I went to look for you but couldn't find you! and the next thing I know, everyone is telling me that you were out at the game the entire time!" Hermione stared at Harri in betrayal.
"I am so sorry Hermione; I didn't know you were looking for me!" Harri started off with.
"I didn't tell anyone that I was on the team because I was told to keep it a secret so we could use it as an advantage." Harri further explained.
"So, you didn't tell Bulstrode?" Hermione asked in confirmation and Harri then realized that Milli has asked her the same thing when she was outside after the game.
"Of course, I didn't! No one besides that quidditch team and professor Snape knew about my involvement" Harri confirmed and reassured Hermione that she wasn't losing her best friend.
"Okay…I guess that's fine then. But I don't think you should help the twins break into your common room" Hermione stated when she was sure that Harri was still her friend.
"Oh Hermione, I promised them when they helped me sneak into your dorm room" Harri shrugged.
"You made a deal with them for me?" Hermione asked a bit too pleased.
Harri nodded quickly. "And now I have to pay up." Hermione looked concerned at that.
"Well, I still think that you shouldn't have made that deal in the first place." Hermione stated with her arms on her hips. Harri shrugged.
"Well now you can sneak me in so we can have our monthly sleep overs!" Harri squealed and tickled Hermione.
"we'll see about that…" Hermione did seem pleased about the sleep overs, but she still didn't agree.
"Or we can have them bi-weekly, or weekly?" Harri teased her.
"let's keep the rule breaking to once a month." Hermione finally gave in. Harri laughed at Hermione's concession and nodded eagerly.
"Wanna go to the library? Get a snack? Or do you want to practice dueling?" Harri asked her when they both fell silent.
"Real dueling?" Hermione asked a bit eagerly.
"well more like shields and basic hexes. Ill share what I've read in the Potter books on defense. Yes, I'll lend you the book, but you still need a partner to practice what you've learned." Harri answered before Hermione asked to read the book. Hermione eagerly nodded at Harri's offer.
"We can do practical's together, and you can read when we're not dueling." Harri said as she had been wanting to help Hermione get stronger and bring her back to the level she was at during the battle of Hogwarts.
"I'll give you the book later as I left all of my belongings in my trunk." Harri promised her.
"Oh yes Harri! I've been meaning to read on the subject on defensive magic!" Hermione eagerly shared.
"don't blame you, when we have an incompetent professor" Harri nodded. Hermione gasped at Harri's slight at Quirrell.
"You haven't thought that he was maybe somewhat lacking?" Harri teased her as she sat on the ground and stretched out her legs for her practical with Hermione.
"Well, maybe just a little Harri" Hermione said as she showed her how much with her fingers. Harri laughed and continued to stretch.
"Today, I will show you a shield that you can use for minor first year hexes and jinxes, once you get the hang of it, I'll show you an even better shield that can be used against curses." Harri explained the impromptu lesson plan for that day.
Hermione nodded eagerly and took out her wand.
Harri proceeded to teach Hermione for the next 4 hours on how to properly produce a shield, and then another hour on how to properly block minor attacks that Harri threw at her.
"You did amazing Hermione! Just one lesson and you already have a shield! It took me many lessons before I could successfully block attacks!" Harri genuinely felt joy for Hermione.
"well, I just have a really good teacher." Hermione praised Harri back.
"No, you're just being humble!" Harri teased her. Harri and Hermione made their way to the Great Hall, covered in sweat from the day's activities, to get dinner and Harri forgot that she was still wearing her jeans and a loose blouse she used to practice magic.
"No, I'm not! You could teach anybody a shield charm Harri!" Hermione defended her. Harri smiled flattered and shrugged.
"Thank you, but I think that you are enough for now. And once you're good enough you can help me teach others!" Harri said.
"Really? We could start teaching others next year Harri!" Hermione started planning.
"Maybe, if they don't piss me off" Harri grumbled. Hermione gave her a stern look and Harri shrugged.
"Would you teach anyone that's talking behind your back and saying nasty things about your family?" Harri retorted. Hermione thought about it and agreed with Harri.
"I agree, we won't help those that speak ill of us." and Harri was only too happy that Hermione had agreed on that rule because she straight up refused to help the Ravenclaws that bullied Luna, the Hufflepuffs that went against her in her second year and still talked about her currently, and the Gryffindor's that called her a liar in her 5th year.
"I'll see you tomorrow Hermione with the book on defense, I don't think I'm welcomed at the Gryffindor table after yesterday's win." Harri stared at the Gryffindor table that was giving the Slytherins the stink eye.
"Oh that's so silly Harri! I can't believe that they would let a game break friendships!" Hermione ranted.
"That's Hogwarts for you." Harri laughed. Harri squeezed Hermione's hand and walked to the Slytherin table where she served herself some shepherd's pie.
Harri ate in peace as nobody commented on the company she had walked in with. No one wanted to say anything after the big win Harri had achieved yesterday on her first game and because she had the backing of the Slytherin team. The Slytherin team did sit with her and teased her about at least still keeping her little lion friend.
"Training starts up again next Monday, Harri." Harri nodded and stuffed her face with treacle tart.
"Sir yes sir!" Harri answered once she had swallowed.
"And just because we are ahead, doesn't mean that we are going to go easy on the training, and that goes for everyone!" Flint snapped at them.
Graham rolled his eyes and rubbed his head from the hangover he still had.
"ay ay" Peregrine answered.
When dinner had ended, Harri went to get her trunk to sneak the twins in.
Harri waited inside the agreed classroom and didn't have to wait long when she saw the twins ready with only their wand. Harri nodded at them and didn't bother asking what they were planning to do. She would see the results soon anyway.
"Get in boys" Harri opened the trunk and the twins stepped inside without going further into her little home.
"Thank you again, Miss Potter, no pranks will come to you or yours on the people that we have agreed on." Harri nodded and closed the trunk on them and shrunk her trunk and went to her common room. As everyone was already up in their dorm rooms at midnight, Harri let them out and let them get to work.
"You don't need a password when you leave, just don't get caught okay?" Harri whispered.
The twins nodded and kissed her signet ring. Harri took her trunk and went to her dorm room and placed her trunk near her bed. All the girls were already asleep to Harri's relief. Harri went into her trunk and closed the latch before she turned in for bed and ignored Tom's call.
