Moonsong and Milkfern

It was nighttime, the sky was clear, the moon was full, and the stars sparkled so beautifully at this hour. The forest crickets sang their nightly song and the forest was nevertheless, more awake than asleep. In those woods, a silver she-cat with little black spots, white eartips, paws, chest, tailtip, and yellow eyes, was walking towards the edge of the forest. When she walked out, she was near a twoleg thunderpath, that bordered the forest and the city. Behind one of the twoleg dens, a white tom with green eyes came out of the dark alley and revealed himself to the silver she-cat. The she-cat was overjoyed and the tom was pleased to see her as well. The tom looked both ways, than crossed the thunderpath and approached the silver cat. Both cats touched noses, the she-cat was overjoyed and the tom couldn't help but be amused.

"Hey you." He chuckled.

"Hey Milk, how's the streets?" the she-cat asked, greeting.

"Oh it's been fine, I guess." Milk meowed.

Come on, lets go somewhere private. There's something I need to talk to you about." Moonsong meowed.

"Oh…" Milk meowed, surprised.

"Come on, I know a place." Moonsong meowed.

She beamed with joy and turned around. Moonsong headed back into the woods and Milk followed her. Milk wasn't sure about this, he thought about what Moonsong would tell him. Thoughts raced through Milk's mind, each one good to bad. Worst case scenario was that Moonsong was pregnant or that her clan had found out about him and she was breaking it off. It was bad enough that Milk and Moonsong were meeting like this in secret, but if either of those things happened, Milk wouldn't know what to do. Both cats reached a ledge, not far from the Lightclan border, and sat down. Moonsong laid her head on Milk's chest and he purred with delight.

"So, what are you going to tell me?" Milk asked.

Moonsong lifted her head and looked at him.

"Well, we've been seeing each other for moons and my clan has never been more peaceful. So, I was wondering if you would like to join my clan?" she asked.

"Wait what…are you serious?" Milk asked, surprised.

"Yes, you're an excellent hunter and you fight well for someone who's been a loner his entire life." Moonsong complimented.

"Heh, heh, thanks." Milk meowed, blushing.

"And besides, I don't want to meet like this anymore." Moonsong meowed, solemnly.

"But what about your clan, will they accept me?" Milk asked, worried.

"Of course they will, Lightstar is a great leader, I promise he'll give you a chance." Moonsong promised.

"Okay. If I join your clan, what's our cover story?" Milk asked.

"Actually, I was thinking we could just tell them about us." Moonsong meowed.

"What?! Moonsong, is that a good idea?" Milk asked, worried.

"Milk, my clanmates are smarter than you think and Lightstar will figure it out eventually, he's done it before." She meowed, solemnly.

"Do you mean Icetuft?" Milk asked.

"Yeah, Lightstar found out about him and Starthistle before he even told him." Moonsong explained.

"Do you miss him?" Milk asked.

"Yeah, he was a good deputy. I should've been nicer to him, though." Moonsong meowed, sadly.

Moonsong's ears flattened and Milk couldn't help but feel terrible. He had many reasons to be worried and scared; for starters, he had a past and if Moonsong or her clan ever found out, he didn't know how she or her clan would react. Second, Milk was scared of Moonsong's clan and how they would react to him and Moonsong's relationship. Finally, there was Crystalheart and Echoshine, Moonsong's sisters, he was scared to meet them. However, Milk realized that he had nothing to worry about; he was far away from his old life, he would be a stranger to Moonsong's clan and no one would recognize him as the cat he once was. Milk felt safe and surprisingly confident.

"Yes. I'll join your clan, Moonsong." He meowed.

Moonsong perked in surprise.

"Really, you mean it?" she asked, surprised.

Milk smiled and nodded, Moonsong jumped for joy.

"Ahh Ha Ha! Don't worry Milk, you'll love Lightclan! I promise you won't regret it." She promised, excited.

Milk couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. Moonsong than touched noses with Milk, than both cats nuzzled each other and purred.

"I love you, Milk." Moonsong meowed.

"I love you too, Moonsong." He meowed, purring.

As Moonsong continued nuzzling Milk, Milk couldn't help but feel worried and scared, but he knew he had nothing to worry about. After all, if there were any challenges, Milk would face them with his love, Moonsong.
