And my little writing break is over and on with the story.
Little info: in the next two chapters, I'm going to wrap up the second season arc and take Say Cheese completely out of the story.
Why? I've noticed that the less popular episodes of the Cuphead show get less attention than the popular episodes (The Sweater episodes, Roll The Dice etc.) To avoid this I'm going to take the less popular episodes completely out of the story in the third season arc and replace them with fan episodes in which the non-existent episodes are briefly mentioned in the story.

"Alicia wake up!" could be heard from the cottage as the lights came on from the bedrooms and guest room. The goat that was sleeping peacefully outside was awakened by the scream and wondered where it came from until her eyes fell on the window to the guest room from where she heard a loud "No leave me alone!". That the goat was confused was obvious. But what the goat didn't see was that Blood and Cuppy were trying to wake up Alicia who was still having the nightmare and lashing out. They both knew that they had problems with it, but what should they do? Alicia had to be woken up that was clear because she seemed to have more than just a nightmare. Oh yes, Cuppy knew her more than enough to know that this was not a normal nightmare but something else. "Blood, do you know any spell that will wake her up?" the mug asked the wolf, who nodded.
He reached for his wand and held the end of it over Alicia's head while the crystal in it began to glow. It became brighter and brighter in the room, so Cuppy shielded his eyes from the glare, which formed a beam of light that landed on Alicia's forehead. As the crystal began to glow, so did Alicia and Blood's eyes glowed blue. That Cuppy was fascinated by it so and heard one. The "Ooohhh" was not to be overheard. But Blood ignored it and continued to focus on the spell that seems to work slowly. Alicia woke up again when she stopped glowing blue and the crystal and Blood's eyes returned to normal and stopped glowing. Alicia woke up shortly after and was confused and sweating a lot. "What is..." she looked from the closet to the two who were looking at her worriedly. Well, Blood didn't really show it, but she knew he was also worried about her, like Cuppy who was bombarding her with questions. "Are you all right?", "Did you have a nightmare?", "Do you need anything?" he said several times in a row so that one could not really hear anything or only a part that was difficult to understand.
Alicia was about to say something, as was Blood, but both were interrupted by the open door from which Elder Kettle came with a candle in his hand and both brothers, who were also awakened by Alicia's scream. Now I feel guilty. She didn't want to wake anyone up and certainly didn't want anyone to worry about her. But she could forget that because the way Cuppy bombarded her with questions. The three of them also bombarded her with questions that she and Blood couldn't understand, of course, because everything was spoken out of order. But the wolf could regulate the whole thing well so that everyone could ask his question which Alicia tried to answer as well as she could. Especially because Elder Kettle didn't know that she was half demon and married to both devils and was also the queen of Inkwell Hell. Yes, it would be stupid to blurt that out now. She didn't want to know how he would react, let alone if he would react at all. She didn't want to imagine how Elder Kettle would react if she became a wolf in front of him.
But at some point she has to tell him. And only then will she know how he will react. Either like his counterpart from the book or differently. She hoped very much for the former because she did not like to be chased away by him. But for the first calm returned and that pleased the others already very much. However, Alicia did not want to sleep because she feared that she would get another nightmare. Blood had a solution for this in the form of a magic tea from his world. "This tea is used by mages and warriors before they go into battle," he explained to her while she looked at the purple liquid from which she saw blue swirls that disappeared and reappeared. "And this helps me fall asleep?" she asked as she took a sip of tea, feeling everything around her shake and noticing that her eyes were slowly falling shut. Yes, the tea was very strong.
Barely a second later when Blood took the cup from her hand she lay asleep on her bed, fast asleep as a rock. Cuppy was fascinated by this and covered her while Blood blew the tea to fall asleep himself. Cuppy also tucked him in before he went to bed and slept on like the others in the cottage.
While the six were sleeping, someone in the forest woke up and slowly came to and looked around until he saw the town and the junkyard that was not far away from it. This someone got up and decided to leave there. After all, he was not alone here landed. He knows it because he held something in his hands or rather paws that belonged to a person he knew. "Don't worry Eira, I'll find you!" said the person and ran towards the city. But the person did not suspect that Eira was closer to him than he hoped.
Also on their way into town were Alicia and the others. Yes, the sleep did Alicia good, thanks to the tea she could sleep undisturbed. Of course, she wanted to ask Blood if she could get more of such tea from him, but he refused, saying, "The effect lasts a month, and if you drink more, you may never wake up again". This scared Alicia a bit because she didn't want to end up like Snow White. Well, in her case it was a poisoned apple and not tea. But she didn't care because the city was not far away. "What's that junkyard doing out here?" asked Cuppy when he saw it from a distance. He and Alicia knew that Dr. Kahl lived there with his robot Automaton. Alicia stopped in front of the locked gate, which had a sign on it saying that it was private property and that uninvited guests would be eliminated. No joke! So it said on the sign while next to it was another one on which one was politely ordered to ring the bell if one wanted to know something from the doctor.
Alicia was skeptical at first about ringing the bell because the real reason they were going to town was because Cuphead and Mugman had accidentally knocked over Elder Kettle's radio after another stupid fight. And as with the broken glasses, they both want to have the radio repaired. If that's still possible, of course. She decided against it, but as soon as the five of them left, they heard the gate to the junkyard open. They all turned around and saw the doctor coming out of the gate. The doctor looked very much like his book counterpart. Only his hair was dark purple, as well as his mustache and goatee. The lab coat ist grey, his gloves are yellow like Cuphead's and Mugman's Gloves. But what Alicia noticed immediately was the glasses. They were yellow and not green.
"Is there anything I can do to help you?" the doctor asked the five as he approached them. "Well, we'd have to get this radio fixed," Alicia said as Mugman showed him the broken radio he pulled out of his pocket. Yes Alicia rolled her eyes again as she mentally said "cartoon logic" again. The doctor took the radio and looked at it more closely "Oh I can fix that for you" he said which pleased the others. "But only if you do me a favor" of course Alicia already suspected this. "What kind of favor would that be?" asked Cuphead curiously. Alicia really hoped he wouldn't go all Doctor Eggman or Dr. Neo Cortex and experiment with the cups. It wouldn't be the first time she heard that from Cuppy. But the doctor wanted something else. "I need your help to get my beloved robot Automaton back that some thieves stole from me two days ago!" he said angrily with a raised fist while adjusting his glasses that were threatening to fall off.
Only now did the others see the huge footprints the robot had left behind. Typical. Alicia rolled her eyes again as the group was about to leave until the doctor told them to watch out for foxes. Okay, now I have to think about Zootopia. Alicia knew very well the cliché that was said about foxes. They are very cunning but will betray anyone you trust. What a nonsense, Alicia thought, as she and the others walked along, following the robot's trail that led them past the town and into the forest. It didn't take long, however, for the five to come across a fox. Or rather, this ran into Alicia when he came out of the forest. Both sat on the ground and felt the pain "Ouch watch where you're going!" said Alicia slightly annoyed as she rubbed her forehead and opened her eyes to look at the one that ran into her. To her shock, it was a fox. But he didn't look like a toon, he looked like Alicia and Blood.
"Sorry I didn't mean to" said the fox who also slowly stood up and looked at the five. Alicia took a closer look at him. It's a young anthropomorphic fox who's the same height as her with a lithe build and covered in red fur with a white underbelly up to his muzzle. He has black tips on his ears while his hands and feet up to his elbows and knees are dark auburn. He has green eyes, a small black nose, a white tip at the end of his tail and a tuft of hair in the same colour as his fur atop of his head similar to 1998 Rudolph and Slyly's. He wears a sleeveless black and dark navy blue jumpsuit with a brown tool belt, black boots and black gloves with blue linings near the end. He also wears black goggles with blue lens atop of his head.
He slowly stood up and apologized to Alicia and was about to leave when he felt a hand or paw on his shoulder he looked to that was none other than Blood's his. "Um did I say something wrong?" he asked the wolf who was staring at him with his red eyes. Yes the fox felt some fear but the wolf calmed down. "Why do you want to run away and not introduce yourself to us first?" asked Blood to him. The fox didn't really know but he nodded and introduced himself. "My name is Varian Stormwood and I am from another world" he said while the others also introduced themselves. Of course, Varian was surprised when he learned that he was not the only one who came from another world. Only Alicia and Blood were surprised to learn that the world Varian came from was much more advanced in technology than Alicia's world.
But as much as the others wanted to ask what kind of technology his world had, the others also learned that Varian was not the only one who came from his world and that he was looking for this person. "You mean you're not the only one to end up here?" Alicia inquired. Varian nodded as he reaches into the small tool bag on his belt as he answered, "Yeah, I just so happen to be looking for a close friend of mine". "How can you be so sure this friend of yours is here, too?" Cuppy asked. "I just know, because I just happen to found this," Varian replied, taking his hand out, holding it out. He opens his fingers to reveal a locket resting on the palm of his gloved hand. The locket itself is purely silver on a long silver chain and shaped like a heart. It also had a snowflake engraving with a small, round diamond in the middle. If Alicia had to guess, this friend of Varian's must be female.
"She somehow must have dropped it when we got separated," Varian explained. "If I had found her locket, I know that she must be here somewhere". "That should make sense," Blood nodded to that logic. "So, what is her name and what does she look like? The best chance of finding her if we know every detail and information about her". "Her name is Eira, short for Gwyneira Snowveil," Varian answered. "She's an Arctic fox, about the same height as me and Alicia, she has an elegant, lithe build and is covered in white fur as well as a bushy tail. She has long, flowing white hair with any icy blue streak and along strand of hair braided over her right shoulder. She wears a small violet-blue nose and crystal blue eyes. She wears an icy blue dress with long fitted sleeves that covers her knuckles a midnight blue belt with a diamond buckle around the waist and a detract midnight blue shawl with a small silver brooch consisted of two hearts. The skirt is slightly shorter at the front over the knees to reveal sparkling midnight blue leggings and elegant icy blue boots".
From his pocket he took out a small object that looked like a small plate until a hologram appeared out of it with Eira on it. Alicia nodded, keeping a mental note of the description of the missing Eira.
"Gee, she looks really beautiful," Mugman commented. You could see him blushing slightly until the hologram of Eira disappeared. "Anyway, I've already asked everywhere, but most people just chased me away and said I was like all the other foxes," Varian said the last part with a growl as he crossed his arms. Alicia knew how he felt and decided to help him. "Don't worry we'll help you" Varian looked at Alicia and the others who agreed with her statement with a nod and a smile. This pleased Varian very much that finally someone helped him to find Eira again. "Okay then, we'd need a good sniffer" he said, holding the locket in front of Blood's nose, who looked at him in confusion until he realized what Varian meant by "sniffer". He should smell the object and pick up the scent of Eira so they could follow it.
Of course he wanted to refuse but Alicia looked at him annoyed so he let it be and smelled the object while he heard the three cups laughing softly in the background. He couldn't help growling which the three heard and immediately stopped giggling while Blood followed the scent. The others followed him, unaware that they were being watched by two figures wearing red cloaks that covered their faces. "So she's with the group and not alone" said one of the two figures as he looked at Alicia who was right behind Blood and Varian.
"Should we tell the boss they're coming?" asked the other figure, who was a little smaller and looked up at the other figure. The latter thought and nodded, "Yes, come, we should hurry so that the ritual can begin". Both disappeared as quickly as they came. Alicia didn't suspect a thing as her eyes fell back to the floor where she saw all the footprints of Automaton. She knew he was tall, but she didn't know his feet were that tall. Hopefully he won't be as aggressive as he was during the battle for the soul contract. Yes, she remembered exactly when he pointed his laser guns at her and the two brothers and was ready to wipe them out if the doctor hadn't intervened.
You could tell he was a sore loser. But here they didn't have to worry about that because Alicia hadn't seen a casino and so no soul contracts had to be collected. "You Varian tell me..." the fox looked at Alicia, "Why did you want to run away again right after you ran into me?". It was clear that he was looking for Eira, but she saw that he was panicking. So what was wrong with the fox? Varian stopped like the others. Once because he wanted to talk to her and because they were at an intersection and Blood had to filter out the smell. "Because you weren't the first ones I asked for help" he said and lowered his head while his ears also lowered "Unfortunately the answer was always the same" he said sadly. "Go away you fox or We don't trust tricksters!" he said slightly angry when he had to think about it. Alicia knew what he meant because foxes were always portrayed as nasty villains in cartoons. Be it Honest John from Pinocchio or Swiper from Dora both portrayed as bad and evil. Unfortunately, Nick Wilde was also a bad example because he played several people behind the light to make money himself. The fact that Varian was made to feel this way, even though they hardly knew him, made Alicia angry, too, because she knew how he felt.
"Don't worry we'll help you" she said and put a hand on his shoulder. Varian saw this and looked at Alicia who smiled at him like the others. He knew that they would help him and that pleased him very much. Blood had found the trail and turned left. The others followed him and saw from a distance an old abandoned factory site from which light seemed to shine. The robot could not be missed from far away. It looked very similar to Automaton, but the metal was darker gray and very similar to The Iron Giant. The Antenna was missing on his forehead, the two slots in its torso are closed. The automatic lights through its body are out. His eyes were closed and did not appear to be turned on. This pleased Alicia because she knew what the robot was capable of. But the question remained how to get it out. Well, just sparring into it wouldn't do any good. But one question remained. Blood sensed that Eira was also in the abandoned factory, but the group didn't see her anywhere as they hid behind some trees and rocks to look inside the factory.
But the fact that they found the thieves who stole Automaton made them very happy. "Okay, we know where Automaton is, but where's Eira?" asked Cuphead, when suddenly a cry was heard from inside the factory that Varian was more than familiar with. "Eira!" he said and was about to run out of his hiding spot when Blood grabbed him by the shoulder and dragged him back behind the tree "Hey what's wrong with you?!" he asked him but Blood didn't answer him but pointed to the inside of the factory. Yes, Eira was caught, but she was brought to a platform where the hooded figures placed her. Alicia looked closer and saw that there was something on the floor of the platform. It was a pentagram. An inverted pentagram to be more precise. At the top of each was a candle that was red. Alicia knew what this sign meant. "They want to summon the devil here," she said aloud, which the others heard. Varian was even more shocked than before and wanted to start running again but Blood held him. Running in there now wouldn't do any good, but Alicia had an idea how to free Eira. "Varian, I'm going to give you a small warning, but I'm only half human," she said as she looked at the fox, who was looking at her in confusion. "What do you mean you're only half human?" he asked her confused until he saw her slowly transform into her demon form.
Alicia already suspected that the fox was getting more confused and afraid at the same time, but she decided to explain everything to him after the release of Eira and Automaton. She became invisible and went back to her Rock Drake form to rescue Eira who was tied up and asked to be released with a not pleased voice but the hooded figures just laughed "Yeah sure and what's next do you want us to give you a foot massage?" one of the figures asked as the others laughed again. Eira was not happy about it and tried to free herself with her teeth but it didn't really work out as she had imagined. The ropes were very thick and her short teeth could not help her. Especially not when the leader of the cult came, who could be recognized by the goat skull he was wearing. The horns were curved and resembled an ibex very much.
"You dear fox you don't know why we captured you, do you?" the leader asked her in a deep raspy voice. Eira just shook her head at the question he asked her. She didn't remember because she had already woken up tied up here. The leader approached her and lifted her chin so that he could stare into her eyes with his yellow eyes. "So we can lure her here!" he said and pointed to a wall where Eira saw nothing until the leader ordered a few of the cult members to throw ropes at the wall or rather at what was stuck in it. "Hey let go of me you..." said a voice that showed its appreciation. Eira could not believe her eyes when she saw the invisible Rockdrake become visible and become a human. Well, not quite human, but almost. "Finally we have captured you Alicia. Queen of the Underworld and Wife of the Devil" said the leader as he approached her.
That she was not pleased about it could be seen in her eyes that burned with anger. "Take her to the podium and let the fox go, we got what we wanted," the leader ordered as the cult members freed Eira and tied Alicia to the podium. Eira landed outside the factory and was greeted by the others. Especially pleased was Varian, who immediately embraced Eira. But no matter how nice the reunion with the two was, they knew that Alicia was in danger, or so Eira told them. "We must free her before they can finish the ritual!" she said. "What ritual?" asked Varian, but the red ominous glow coming from the factory answered her question. The candles were lit and the leader recited something in a strange language. His eyes lit up red as he and the other cult members hovered in the air as the pentagram began to glow and the candles disappeared. Well, they didn't really disappear but rather merged with the pentagram. Out of the pentagram came a bright red ray of light in which appeared a person Alicia knew all too well.
"Who dares to teleport me from my bed?" asked a demonic voice as the beam of light disappeared and the devil revealed himself removing his sleeping glasses from his eyes and throwing them on the floor. He looked around several times and saw the cult members like the leader approaching him, bowing and kneeling before him. "Oh mighty devil hear our plea" said the leader. The devil was confused and did not know what to say until the cult leader said, "We have brought your wife back to you and want nothing more from you than a reward". The devil looked around until he looked behind him and grinned. Oh how I hate that grin. Yes, Alicia was not thrilled about it, you could see it on her face. But the devil was very happy to have her back.
He walked over to her and lifted her chin. Both lips almost touched. "Hello my love" he said and was ready to kiss her but the leader interrupted him and demanded a reward from him. Annoyed, he let go of her chin and turned to the leader who hoped to get a reward. But instead the devil took his soul and the souls of the other members, which he transported back to the underworld before turning back to Alicia. "Where were we?" he asked her, lifting her chin again as their lips almost touched again. "Oh yeah right at the kiss." Alicia couldn't stop it and had to put up with the devil kissing her. Yes she hated it but she couldn't do anything about it so she let him kiss her unintentionally. You could see that he enjoyed it. Yes, he enjoyed it very much and clung around her while he continued to kiss her passionately. Alicia, however, felt uncomfortable and hoped that she would be saved soon because she felt that he was slowly going down with his other hand and was ready to seduce her even more than she wanted.
"Let it happen my love I know you will like it" he said and approached her no go zone. She couldn't take it anymore and wanted to say something but it was too late because the devil was kissing her again and she felt him ready to seduce her but suddenly they heard something mechanical and looked at Automaton who opened his eyes which glowed white which confused Alicia. The latter stood up and freed himself from his clutches with ease. "Operating system corrupted *beep* NeEd reeboOt *beep*" he said and looked down at the two. The two didn't know it but the robot saw the two as a threat. That's why they were glowing red. "*beep* tHreat detecteD!" he said and in his hands appeared weapons or rather ray guns which he pointed at the two. Alicia got scared and wanted only one thing: to flee! Automaton's eyes were now red and no longer white. She knew he could kill her and she didn't want to risk that, so she freed herself from the ropes and walked out of the factory, avoiding the ray gun Automaton had pointed at her. But she couldn't avoid the devil who had her in his arms again. "Where are you going my love?" he asked her and was ready to kiss her again but this time she slipped out of his arms. He noticed it as well as the robot that hit him with its ray gun, completely incinerating the devil with its trident and coughing up a cloud of dust. Yes he didn't feel the pain but he had enough and disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Just in time because the robot's foot almost caught him.
He was still after Alicia, who tried to escape, but the robot quickly found her, even if she was hiding behind trees, rocks or even in bushes. Damn it, why does he see me as a threat? She looked at her hand and knew why when she turned back into a human and hoped that he wouldn't want to harm her. But when she saw the laser beam on her forehead, she knew that wasn't the case. "Threat detecteD!" he said, approaching her as the antenna to his head slowly charged. But before he could fire the laser beam at Alicia, the antenna was deactivated by something and reentered the robot's head, which was more than confused. "Leave her alone!" said a familiar voice that Alicia knew all too well. It was the others who rushed to her aid with the Doctor happy to have his robot back.
"Oh, Automaton, I'm glad to have you back," he said, running up to the robot whose eyes turned from red to yellow and then to white. "*beep* voice recognized *beep*" said Automaton as he extended his right hand on which the doctor jumped. With it, he lifted him up, opening the hatch in his head where the doctor jumped in to fix the robot, who briefly lowered his head and closed his eyes. It looked like he was asleep, but he opened his eyes again and said, "Operating system restored," he was back to his old self and opened the hatch from which the doctor was looking. And yes he was not very happy about what happened to his robot. "Those nasty thieves, if I can get my hands on them then..." he was silent as his gaze went down to the others who were taking care of Alicia who was now feeling better. He jumped out of the hatch and was caught by Automaton who brought him to the ground where he went to the others who noticed him. "Thanks again for saving my robot" he said as he thanked the group before his eyes fell on Varian and what he was holding in his hand. It was a remote control or something similar. "What is that you have in your hands my boy?" he asked him.
Varian realized he meant him "Oh that's a distress repeater that can hone in on anyone" he said which intrigued the doctor as the technology was more advanced than that of the doctor. "Interesting" he said and handed the distress repeater back to Varian. "Oh, that's not the only thing it can do," he said, pressing several buttons that changed the distress beacon to a smartphone and more. "It's just a little gadget of mine" he said and put it in his tool belt with his other items he had with him. "You seem to know a lot about technology, my boy," the doctor said, patting Varian on the shoulder, who just smiled nervously. "Maybe so, but my last invention unfortunately brought me and Eira here".
"Unfortunately, we can't return that quickly without building a portal or something" he sighed as he said that "And unfortunately, I have no idea where I could build one without being judged for my appearance" he explained to the doctor who was thinking as well as Alicia when she heard the word portal and she knew where that came from. Quadratus had told her then that they needed two more companions to get home. And these were Blood and Varian. This pleased her very much, because with the portal Varian mentioned, she and Cuppy could return home. "You can build it with me my dear" said the doctor as he pulled Varian and Eira to him and looked at them both with his glasses threatening to fall off again had Eira not caught them for him. "Thank you my dearest" he said and put them back on and waited for a response from the two. Both foxes didn't think long and said yes to the offer. "Well then off to the junkyard I have a radio to fix" he said and went with the others to the junkyard. This resembled the one from the book very much only two buildings were on the junkyard. Once a residential building in which the doctor lived and a large hall which actually served for scrap processing but for the doctor rather as a warehouse for his inventions. In this was also Automaton who helped the doctor.
That the two foxes could live with him pleased them very much because for Varian the junkyard was like a paradise. Of course, as a thank you for saving Eira, Varian decided to help the doctor repair the radio. He modified it a bit so that more than one radio channel could be heard from different Timelines, which pleased Alicia very much because she could no longer hear the jazz music. But no matter how much she and the others wanted to try out the modified radio, the day was more than exhausting, especially for Alicia. The only thing she wanted to do was go to bed and sleep. The others stayed in the living room and enjoyed the music, not suspecting that there was someone else in the guest room with Alicia. "My love" said a deep voice that looked at Alicia who was slowly making herself known. It was Lucifer who came out of the shadows and looked at his wife who did not realize that he was there.
She fell fast asleep and didn't even notice that he had snuggled up to her. His head was above hers while he lay sideways next to her. His arms clung to her body while he pulled her closer to him so that she was almost in his fur. The soft purring could not be overheard. Anyway, Cuppy and Blood, who were about to go into the guest room, heard this purring, which was very familiar to the former. "I think we should probably sleep on the couch" he quietly suggested to the wolf who agreed. Neither wanted to spoil the mood in the guest room, so the two stayed outside. Alicia, however, sensed that someone was lying next to her and slowly opened her eyes, but saw nothing but darkness. She was also more than tired and noticed that her eyes were slowly closing again so she decided to sleep. This pleased Lucifer very much because he wanted to surprise her. If she saw him now, it would be inconvenient. But she was fast asleep again which calmed him down. Gently he stroked her cheek before he kissed her and went back to sleep.
Yes, he was glad that she was lying next to him again, or rather he was lying next to her. That he knew that she was terrorized by another devil and also that he had forced her to marry. A thing he would never have done. No he would be ashamed even as incarnation of evil. Oh yes, Lucifer wanted to have a word with the other devil, because no one messes with his wife and queen. Unless you want to feel his wrath. "If this impostor crosses my path, I'll show him what will happen if he takes advantage of my beloved Alicia!" Yes, Lucifer felt that the devil's mark she wore could no longer harm the other devil since she was now his wife and queen. This did not really please Lucifer, but he knew that Alicia could not help it. She still remained faithful to him and seemed to miss him very much.
That's why he stayed in bed with her for the moment so that she would feel better and that the other devil would not get the idea to kidnap her secretly. No he wanted to allow that only reluctantly. Even at the thought of it, he pulled her closer to him while his tail slowly wrapped around her waist. Lucifer did not want to lose her, that was clear. The same was true for Varian, who lived with Eira with the Doctor and shared a bed with her. Both were reluctant to be separated from each other. But it would hurt Varian even more if he would lose Eira. Even if he would not like to admit it, he had fallen in love with Eira since he saw her again. Both were childhood friends and grew up differently. But how should he tell her that he loved her? The fox did not know and decided to sleep like the others.
