They moved in on Tsuna's second week of living in his new apartment. Before that, everything was going great. He got accepted into a college in Milan since his mom didn't want him to stay reliant on her and the brunet's acquaintances. Tsuna, of course, agreed with his mother that it would be for the best. So after tons of research, they came across a University in Milan for Medicine.
Tsuna's mom was ecstatic at the idea of her son going to Italy. The brunet didn't care as long as he could live in a nice, peaceful apartment.
It took quite a lot of time and effort. Plus, Tsuna had to ace the exam three times before they finally accepted him. They thought he was cheating because of his grades ranging from primary school to high school. It all worked out in the end though.
So here he was, enjoying a peaceful breakfast on a Saturday. The only classes he had were in the afternoon. He didn't have any exams yet. And he finished all of his homework. Everything was going great in the brunet's opinion.
There was a bit of yelling outside which was followed by an equally loud crash.
He could ignore it though. Pretend to be oblivious in favor of this sweet peace.
Then there was even more yelling which seemed to be getting closer. A door opened to the formerly vacant apartment on the right of him and closed just as loudly.
The brunet was praying that they were movers for his incoming neighbors and not the neighbors themselves. He took a deep breath and drank a bit more of his water before cleaning his dishes.
The people opened the door again, but this time it didn't close. Instead, they left it open to, presumably, move personal belongings into the apartment. Their voices never quieted down.
At some point, Tsuna broke his plate from annoyance and had to patch his hand up. It wouldn't be good for him to leave a wound open after all. He wrapped his hand in bandages carefully and quickly cleaned up the broken plate. He put the broom away afterward and sighed deeply, a smile etched across his face.
The brunet decided that shopping for a new plate would be a good idea. He wouldn't want an uneven number of plates, right?
This totally wasn't an excuse to get away from that obnoxious laughter and taunting coming from the right.
Tsuna grabbed his coat and put on his shoes quickly. His phone was charged and secured in his pocket. He had his wallet in his coat pocket and his keys in his hand. He was good to go. The brunet quickly left his apartment and turned to use the left staircase. He walked slowly as he listened to the obnoxious voices slowly sound further away. Tsuna sighed in relief as he reached the bottom of the stairs, but paused at the sight of a man that looked a bit too similar to Hibari.
This man's black hair was longer though. It was also put into a braid. His eyes were a dark brown instead of silver too. He wore a pair of black slacks and a red button-up. His sleeves were rolled up slightly.
The man looked at the brunet and smiled, "Hello, you must be one of our neighbors." His smile was very fake, it looked exactly like the one his mom would use when talking to others.
Tsuna merely gave an equally fake smile, "Yes, it seems to be that way." He put some effort into his smile and reached out a hand, "My name is Tsunayoshi, it's a pleasure."
The man seemed amused as he took the brunet's hand, "Likewise," He began, "I'm Fon." His hand was slightly calloused and bigger than Tsuna's hand.
The brunet nodded his head, "I should get going and finish my shopping." He laughed as he tried to leave but the man's grip was a bit too strong.
Fon's twinkled in more amusement, "Are you planning on walking there?" He asked curiously as his hand slowly let go of the brunet's.
Tsuna felt a bit nervous, everything in him was saying that the man in front of him, Fon, was extremely dangerous, "A little exercise never hurt anyone." He excused lightly.
Fon's black hair flew in the wind as a breeze went by, "I guess that's true," He hid his mouth behind his hand, a habit of his most likely, "I'll see you later then, Tsunayoshi."
Tsuna gave a small wave goodbye before leaving quickly. His heart was racing from the fear he felt when he laid eyes on the man. He didn't notice when his fast walking became a full-on run until his breath became uneven.
The brunet sat on a bench nearby and let his breathing even out. His head fell back as he thought back to the man's brown eyes. Tsuna never had this much trouble reading someone like that.
There wasn't anything genuine to the man beside his amusement. It was eerie in Tsuna's opinion. That man was difficult to read, but he did know that he was powerful. Why else would the brunet's heart pound in fear? If not for the sole reason that the man, Fon, is extremely dangerous.
Tsuna shook his head and focused on getting himself some groceries while he was out. He should also bake something for the new neighbors. His mom taught him that it's always a good idea to be on others' good side. Especially when they're dangerous.
He hummed as he looked around at the fruits. He shouldn't get too much. He is carrying this back, after all.
He grabbed a few apples and then moved to a different section. He got some flour and hesitated on the sugar. He wasn't too sure if he had any left at home. He grabbed a small bag of sugar just in case. It's better to be safe than sorry. He found some chocolate chips and smiled. He hasn't decided between a pie or cookies. Maybe he'll do both.
He got everything paid for and began walking home. He ended up buying more than he intended to. He needed milk, another plate, and eggs.
He walked home slowly. It was a beautiful day after all. He enjoyed the flowers that have bloomed. He got back to his apartment complex and went up the stairs quickly. He didn't want to see any of his new neighbors.
Well, he never had much luck, did he?
Fon was outside talking with a blond man and another man wearing a fedora.
Fon had noticed him immediately and waved, "How was your grocery trip?" He asked, the amusement slowly coming back.
Tsuna gave the man a strained smile, "It was pleasant, thank you for asking, Fon." He responded smoothly while opening his door.
A deep, baritone voice hummed, "Who are you, beautiful?" He asked with eerily similar amusement to Fon's
The brunet turned his head and looked at the fedora-wearing man, "My name is Tsunayoshi, your neighbor." He opened his door and placed his groceries inside. He turned his whole body to face the three men, "It's a pleasure to meet you." He smiled at them gently
The fedora-wearing man smirked as he grabbed Tsuna's hand, "I'm Renato Sinclair," He kissed the back of the brunet's hand, "It's a pleasure, Tsunayoshi."
The blond man rolled his eyes in annoyance at Renato, "You can call me Colonnello." He grinned at the brunet while subtly kicking Renato.
Tsuna noticed. It was far too subtle for a normal civilian though. He put a pin in that thought for later, "What made you all move here?" He asked while tilting his head slightly
Fon stepped in front of the other two men, which ended up with him being a bit too close for comfort, "We were just bored with where we were." He responded politely
The brunet laughed nervously while peering over at the two men that looked increasingly angry, "Can't imagine why." They're the villains that destroyed that one city in Germany, aren't they? They certainly look similar
Fon's smile seemed to only become more amused, "Well, we shouldn't keep you," He began, "You need to put up your groceries, don't you?" He rubbed his thumb against the place Renato kissed on the brunet's hand.
Tsuna nodded, "Yes, I should go then." He hurried inside after waving goodbye to his other two neighbors.
As soon as he closed and locked his door, there was a crash.
Oh well.
As long as they don't bring any of that chaos to his apartment.
He grabbed four eggs before putting the carton in the fridge with the milk. He put up his new plate and began to bake some cookies. He could bake a pie another time, but for now, he'll bake cookies since it's easier.
He grabbed his whisk and looked over at the time.
10:08.
That's more than enough time before class. He put the whisk on the counter and grabbed a mixing bowl.
There was a loud thud against his door that got his attention.
He sighed and put everything in place on the counter before going to open the door. Someone fell back when he opened the door.
It was a man with purple hair and eyes. He had lots of piercings and was wearing a leather jacket with a pair of black jeans.
The man with purple eyes sat up quickly and gave this begging look to the brunet.
Tsuna looked around and sighed, "Do you need to come in?" He asked hesitantly
He's probably one of the new neighbors. Why the hell were there so many of them? He knew the apartment next door was big, but he didn't know it was big enough for so many people.
The man immediately came into the brunet's apartment, "Thank you! I would've been dead if I stayed out there." He hugged Tsuna tightly
The brunet got out of the tight hug and closed the door. He locked it and turned back around, "I'm guessing you're one of my new neighbors?" He put a hand on his hip, noticing how the man followed the movement.
The man nodded his head with a sheepish grin, "My name's Skull DeMort." He held out a hand for Tsuna
Tsuna shook the offered hand, "It's nice to meet you, you can call me Tsunayoshi." He smiled and let go of the hand, "I was about to bake some cookies, do you want to join?" He asked
Skull practically jumped up in excitement, "Cookies?!" He dashed to the kitchen without waiting for any instructions.
The brunet held back a laugh. Strangely enough, he didn't mind the childishness Skull had. It was endearing in a way. He peered into the kitchen and smiled sweetly, "Do you like cookies?" He asked while walking in
The purple-haired man spun around in excitement, "Who doesn't?" His grin was so adorable, "They should be classified as the best dessert."
Tsuna nearly laughed again. Man, this one just brings out his positive emotions, doesn't he? The brunet pushed the thought aside for later and walked next to Skull, "Alright, go ahead and grab the brown sugar from that cupboard right there." He pointed to a cupboard on the far right
Skull excitedly did as he was told. He reached to the back easily and put the bag of brown sugar on the counter. He waited excitedly for the next set of instructions.
The brunet laughed under his breath and told the other what to do. The two of them finally got the cookie dough in the oven and had to wait thirty minutes in total. He set an alarm for thirty minutes and set it on the counter next to the stove.
Tsuna watched the man fall back onto the couch and get comfortable. It made him smile and he was starting to find that he didn't mind this feeling of fondness. Though, he still tried his best to push it back. His mother always said it was a weakness to be fond of something.
Skull grinned at Tsuna, "Thanks for letting me bake with you!" Happiness glittered in his purple eyes.
The brunet nodded his head, "Of course," He sat down in the chair next to the couch, "I was making them for you and your roommates anyway." He leaned back in the chair and observed his neighbor.
Skull's eyes widened as he sat up, "Those assholes?" He asked incredulously
Tsuna raised an eyebrow, "Assholes? Am I to assume that they are the ones that were going to kill you?" He asked, he felt a bit of unease and anger settle in his stomach.
The purple-haired man groaned as his head flopped onto the armrest, "That's them." He responded
Tsuna hummed as he stood up and walked behind Skull's head. He put his hand through the other's purple hair gently, "I guess that we'll just have to eat the cookies by ourselves, hm?" He smiled brightly
Skull grinned mischievously, "Hell yeah!" He responded
The timer went off just in time too.
Tsuna went over and got the cookies out of the oven. They smelled heavenly.
Skull went over as well and hugged the brunet from behind, "They smell great!" His grin had gotten wider as he nuzzled his face into Tsuna's hair.
Tsuna didn't want to mention the unusual amount of affection. He might secretly like it. His mom would scold him though, so he should bring it up later. But not now.
He smiled and nodded in agreement with Skull's statement, "That they do." He put the cookies onto a plate and nearly grinned when he heard a knock on the door, "Do you want to come with me?" He asked curiously
The purple-haired man hesitated before nodding, "Let's do this."
Tsuna walked up to the door after leaving the cookies on the counter. He opened the door with Skull's face buried in his neck.
It was Renato and Colonnello from before. They both looked a tad bit confused at the sight of Skull cozy with the brunet.
The blond furrowed his eyebrows, "Lackey, what the hell are you doing over here, kora?" He asked incredulously
Renato quickly got over his momentary confusion. At least, that's how it looked on the outside.
Tsuna hummed gently, "Do you know them, sweetie?" He asked the purple-haired man
Skull blushed at the pet name, "U-Um..." He trailed off as he looked between the two murderous-looking men and the sweet brunet.
The brunet leaned his head on Skull's, "It's okay to tell me, sweetie." He whispered next to his ear
Skull's red face became even brighter, "No," He responded with an awkwardly high-pitch voice. He coughed into his fist and looked away, "No, I don't know them..." He trailed off and analyzed Tsuna's expectant face, "Bunny." He decided timidly
Tsuna blanched before smiling brightly at the two dangerous men, "Then you two must be mistaken," He nodded to himself, "Now, why are you both here?" He asked
Colonnello gritted his teeth before grinning, "We smelled something good from over here." He glanced at the cookies on the counter
The brunet blinked a few times, "Did you?" He leaned back into Skull, "It must be from one of the other apartments."
Renato stared at Tsuna with unreadable eyes, "And the cookies on the counter?" He questioned
Tsuna hummed and lazily looked at the counter before looking the man in the eyes again, "Sorry," He began, "But I'm afraid there are no cookies on the counter." The lie came to him easily as he played oblivious
The man wearing a fedora seemed to be collecting himself as he hummed in consideration, "What a shame." He responded after a moment
The blond looked vivid as he continued glaring at Skull, "I guess we should go then, huh?" He snarled slightly for reasons unknown to the brunet.
Though, Tsuna had a feeling that Skull was purposefully pissing Colonnello off.
The brunet nodded and waved goodbye, "I Have a nice day!" He responded cheerfully while closing the door.
He hummed and looked at the grinning man that was resting his chin on the brunet's shoulder, "Do you think you need to stay here tonight?" He tilted his head slightly
Skull's grin became wider, "Can I?" He asked eagerly, there was an undertone of smugness in his voice as well though.
Tsuna nodded his head in response instead of saying anything. He should probably tell Skull about his classes he needs to head to soon.
He watched as Skull grabbed some of the cookies that were on the plate and happily eat them, "These are awesome!" He exclaimed loudly
The brunet hummed in response as he checked the clock.
10:46.
He still has a little over an hour before he has to leave. Though, he can't remember whether or not the buses were running today. He didn't feel like having a twenty-minute walk today.
He snapped out of his thoughts when he realized how close Skull was to his face.
The man was staring at him curiously with a bit of amusement hidden deep in his eyes, "Everything alright?" He asked gently, a bit of genuine worry mixing with his abundance of emotions.
Tsuna may be able to read this one, but he also manages to catch Tsuna off-guard quite often, "I have classes to attend in about an hour." He responded easily, gauging the man's reaction carefully.
Skull moved back a bit and tilted his head, "The buses aren't working today though." His lips pursed together, the purple lipstick still somehow not smudging. An idea seemed to strike the man as his arms wound around the brunet's waist, "I can take you there on my bike if you want." He suggested eagerly
The brunet was starting to wonder if letting Skull in was a good idea.
