"What is that?"
Lincoln said as he and Gwen watched Max get a strange piece of lasagna from a sea captain and put it on a plate.
"This is lobster lasagna," said Max
"Is it good?" said Gwen
The sea captain chimed, "It is in Maine."
Gwen, Max, and Lincoln were at a local food festival in a town. This was the opportunity for Max to try and learn to need food; unfortunately, Gwen and Lincoln might be test subjects for his cooking down the road.
After trying the lasagna, Max spotted a soup stand that had soup containing baked chicken, broccoli, and mushrooms, and he asked the kids if they wanted to join.
"No thanks grandpa," said Gwen
"Yeah, um," said Lincoln, then spotting a cookie stand, "we want something else we want to try."
Max shrugged. "Okay, then more for me then."
Lincoln and Gwen quickly head to the cookie stand to get some large-size chocolate chip cookies.
"Nice thinking with the cookie stand," said Gwen
"Thanks," said Lincoln.
"What do you think Grandpa will make us eat after this?"
"I'm thinking grilled pig feet with honey."
"That doesn't sound so bad."
"...yeah does sound good."
During all of this food talk, I got Lincoln's reminiscence about his dad's restaurant and the fun his family had.
Better days, Lincoln thought
"Lincoln?"
"Oh, sorry, just daydreaming."
"Anyway, what should we do?"
Before Lincoln could answer, a large crowd screamed and looked to see a couple of creatures that were a mix of turkeys and snakes with green reptile skin and beaks with some fangs in the front and toxic pink snake eyes.
"Why can't we just have a normal day?" said Gwen
"I have no idea," said Lincoln
Lincoln spotted an alleyway. He went to his Omintrix; he picked an alien and changed into Four-arms. They saw Four-arms and spit blue liquid at him. He dodged them and saw one of them land on the car windshield.
Alright, don't get spit on by this thing, Four-arms thought.
Four-arms kicked one of them into a fire hydrant, and one jumped in the air to try to bite Four-arms. But he smacked it out of the air and dodged another toxic spit from one of the creatures. Then Four-arms found chicken cages sitting out of a farm store, and an idea popped into his head. He grabbed the chicken cage and started putting the creatures into it while avoiding spitting on them. Four-arms put them all into the cage, and he changed back to his original form.
Gwen walked up to Lincoln, impressed at his handy work, and asked.
"What are those things?" said Gwen.
"No idea. Maybe they're aliens?" said Lincoln
"Or mutants?"
"Maybe your grandpa might know something about them?"
As Lincoln and Gwen looked around for Max, someone from Lincoln's past saw him. It was a tall girl with tan skin and black hair. She was wearing a red star shirt and a long black skirt. The girl glanced at Lincoln before running to him, and she called out.
"Lincoln?"
He turned and saw it was his old friend Stella and boy; it felt like the awkwardness in his body was going through the roof. Gwen turned to Lincoln and asked.
"Lincoln, who is this?"
"Gwen, this is Stella," said Lincoln; he turned to Stella "hey Stella, um long time no see."
Stella was at a loss for words before coming up with some "Lincoln, where have you been."
"I've been around some parts of the country."
"...are you serious?"
"Yeah."
The awkward conversation ended with more strange chicken creatures popping up; some were bigger than the ones by a foot.
"We should get away," said Gwen
The three ran as a couple of mutant chickens spotted them. They hid inside an empty dumpster, covering their nose from the smell and hearing the chicken walking past them.
"God I'm going to need a shower after this," said Gwen
Stella wanted to get back on the previous conversation "seriously Lincoln you've been around the country this whole time?"
"Y-yeah."
"I can't believe you. Everyone back home thought you were dead."
"What." Lincoln almost shouted, "why do they think that?"
"Because you went away as soon as everyone heard the news about your family." Stella paused for a moment "sorry."
"I-Its alright."
Gwen couldn't hear the monster chicken anymore. "Let's get out of here."
The three got out of the dumpster and saw that half of the town was wrecked.
"Woah, those chickens did a number on this town," said Lincoln
"Let's just find my grandpa and see if he's okay," said Gwen
"I was going to find my parents, but now I'm taking Lincoln back home."
"Sorry, Stella, I can't."
"Why not?"
Before Lincoln told his reason, the three heard someone yell, "You fool." They looked to see a scientist and a farmer arguing on the street, and they overheard the conversation.
"I told you not to mix the formal with the chicken feed," said the scientist
"I'm sorry, but I wanted to see the formal work well with the chicken to bigger," said the farmer
"Now, chickens are wrecking the town."
"What do we do now?"
"We get the hell out of here before the mega chicken lays more eggs."
The two ran off. The three looked at each, wondering about the mega chicken and its laying more of those monsters eggs.
"So are we going to stop it?" said Gwen
"Yep," said Lincoln
"Figures."
"And how are you two going to stop it?"
"Don't worry, Stella. All you need to get back to your parents," said Lincoln
"No way I'm leaving you fighting monster chickens."
Lincoln sighed as there was no way of talking the girl out of the situation.
"Alright then, where do you guys suppose you find a mega chicken?"
Then an idea popped into Lincoln's head "I think I might know where we could find it."
The three sneaked around the mutated chicken-infested town where the chicken was looking for people to cause havoc. While they were sneaking around, Stella whispered to Gwen softly, not getting Lincoln's attention.
"So are you and Lincoln,"
Gwen blushed a bit "no, we're not."
"Oh, I just thought because of how you two talk to each other."
"We have been through a lot this summer."
"Like what?"
"It's very complicated."
What is this big secret? Stella
The three arrived near a football field and saw the mega chicken in a self-made nest surrounded by slightly large chickens. The mega chicken had blue and white feathers, bat-like wings, sharper fangs, and a rattlesnake tail.
"How did you know the chicken would be here, Lincoln?" said, Gwen
"Well, the field is wide enough for a mega chicken to make a home," said Lincoln
"So what now?" said Stella
"Now this."
Lincoln used the Omnitrix and wanted to change into Heatblast, but instead, he changed into Big Chill.
"Oh c'mon," said Big Chill
Stella was really at a loss for words, and Gwen pulled her in.
"I guess I have to tell you about everything," said Gwen
"You better," said Stella
Big Chill flew up and thought, well, burning them isn't going to work now. I guess putting them on ice would.
Big Chill goes through the chicken, freezing them and for the large chicken. He tried to freeze the mega chicken, but it shot flame out of its mouth toward Big Chill. He dodged the flame and blasted an ice beam at the head, freezing completely, and it fell to the ground.
Big Chill flew back to Stella and Gwen. He turned back to his regular self.
"That's taken care of, Mega chicken," said Lincoln
"What about the other chicken?" said Stella
Then gunshots ring around the town, and the kids look to see authority putting down the mutant chickens.
"Never mind," said Stella
"So Stella," said Lincoln
Stella stopped him. "Don't worry. Gwen told me everything and I won't drag you home."
"Really."
"Yeah. just promise me that you stay safe and come back soon."
Lincoln smiled. "I will." and the two hugged
Gwen thought I wonder what grandpa is doing?
Meanwhile, standing in front of the Rustbucket with a blaster and a bunch of dead chickens, Grandpa took a breather and thought.
I think I'm not going to have a chicken for a while.
