Hey everyone!

I have no idea where January went. Between the news about my Nan and some other stuff these updates took a while to write. I am feeling more confident about being able to write more. Writing sprints ftw on this one. I'm enjoying figuring things out and am being able to add extra things to my chapters. I really hope to get better at updating again and am going to try and update again at the end of the month... so we shall see how that goes.

Lots of love,

LSH xx

Breaking Traditions-Part 58:

Druella scoffed at her son-in-law's words as she didn't believe that he would do such a thing to her and stop her seeing Draco as well. She didn't really care about Rosalie but Draco she did care about deeply. She looked at Lucius and watched him, arms folded.

"You wouldn't dare stop me seeing my grandson. He is blood related to me. You cannot deny me my right to see my grandson," Druella said as she looked at Lucius.

"I will do what I have to to protect my children from the likes of you who are so narrowminded that they cannot see that you don't have to be blood related to create a family," Lucius said, "and if that means that Draco does not see you anymore then that is what will happen."

"Draco you cannot surely want to stop seeing your grandmother because of that baby… I am your grandmother still," Druella said, "and your father cannot stop me from seeing you," she pointed out as she looked at Draco and watched him. Draco sat in silence and looked at the floor before he rose to his feet, clearly still thinking about what he was going to say next.

"Rosalie is my baby sister and you would do well to remember that as I love her and she is a part of this family. Grandfather Cygnus has accepted her, as have Grandmother and Grandfather Malfoy," Draco said, "I don't think that I wish to know anyone who could be so cruel to a baby… a baby who is supposed to be family and be adored and loved by all. It shouldn't make a difference how Rosalie was brought into this family. She is my baby sister and nothing will change that. I don't want to see you if you're not going to accept my baby sister as your granddaughter. Rosalie doesn't need to know you and neither do I."

Draco finished speaking before he nodded at his father and nodded as he left the room, not wanting to speak to his grandmother at that moment in time. He was deeply upset by her behaviour over the whole situation.

Lucius watched his son leave the sunroom and he raised an eyebrow at his mother who simply smirked in reply. Draco had inherited the Malfoy tenacity and Priscilla couldn't deny her happiness at that.

"Well that was surprising from Draco," Lucius said as he sat back down, "I was not expecting that from him. He's never been that vocal about anything before."

"He's a protective and loving big brother who doesn't like anyone who would upset his sister," Priscilla said innocently, "he adores his baby sister a lot and he will be the perfect big brother to her. You and Narcissa raised him well my boy."

"So disrespecting his elders is good is it?" Druella asked as she looked at Priscilla.

"He was standing up for his baby sister. Your granddaughter," Priscilla said, "who cannot defend herself and I don't want to think what Rosa will be told when she is older and wants to know why she doesn't know Grandmother Black," she said as she looked at Druella, "all I know is that Draco doesn't want to know you because you do not care or want to know his sister who he adores," she said.

Lucius, Abraxas and Cygnus just watched the war of words between the two women and smirked. Priscilla and Druella's exchanges had always been amusing to watch and this one was no different. Priscilla could understand how Narcissa had felt without a daughter and she just glared at Druella before the Black matriarch scoffed and walked out of the room.

Druella stood outside the room, wondering what she could do or where she could go before she decided to find her way to the nursery and see if she could talk some sense into her daughter one-to-one. She knew it could be a bad move but she also had to try and get Narcissa to see her side of the story. She could understand why her daughter didn't want to listen but she also had to try and get her side of the story across.

She knocked on the door and waited for Narcissa to give her permission to enter.

"Mother. What are you doing here?" Narcissa asked as she looked at her mother, "come to apologise have you?" she asked as her mother sat down and looked at her.

"No. I haven't," Druella said, "Draco was rude to me."

"And I wonder why that was," Narcissa said as she looked from her daughter to her mother, "possibly the words you said about his sister."

"Yes. Well it appears he doesn't want to know me unless I accept Rosalie and I cannot do that," Druella said, "but I cannot believe that my grandson would say that to me."

"I can," Narcissa said, "you have been against this from the start when we even made sure she was a Pureblood in the hope that you would accept her. She looks as much of a Malfoy as we could do and you still do not accept her," Narcissa said, "we will not give her up. She is our daughter… the daughter we all longed for and nothing will change that."

"You have to try and see it from my point of view. You failed to produce a daughter naturally and had to adopt. In my eyes that's shameful and something that should not have happened. I thought you'd given up on the daughter dream after you had such heartache with giving birth to Draco," Druella said as she looked at Narcissa, who shook her head.

"I felt for years before conceiving Draco that I'd let Lucius down because I couldn't give him a son and heir. I eventually did and made him happy and, with Draco going to school, he and Lucius wanted to make me happy as well," Narcissa said as she looked at her mother, "you need to accept that times are changing and your little plan to turn people against us and it failed. I can understand why Draco does not wish to have anything to do with you anymore. Whether you like it or not… Rosalie is a Malfoy and she will be here forever. You need to understand my feelings and accept that values are changing. Draco will never forgive you," she said as she picked up Rosalie, "choose wisely mother," she said before heading out of the nursery with Rosalie leaving her mother stunned, sat in a chair.
