Chapter 6

"This is so frustrating," Toriba huffed from their observation point. "We have been here almost fifteen minutes and those Class E representatives have done nothing worth to film."

Tsunoguchi rolled her eyes. "If you hadn't already noticed, we're in the library. So-called perfect people, such as Isogai and Kataoka, would never do anything scandalous in public."

"Should we give up and find an another story for our club?" Murasai suggested.

"Definitely not," Toriba hissed. "Otherwise Araki will never let us forget this."

"So we just stay here and observe how Class E representatives do their homeworks," Tsunoguchi let out a long sigh. "You aren't seriously thinking that Araki would like to publish something boring like that?"

Toriba crossed his arms over his chest with thoughtful expression while Tsunoguchi and Murasai stared at him expectantly. Suddenly Toriba's face brightened. He grabbed his backpack and rushed towards the door of library.

"You aren't allowed to run here," Murasai tried to remind him but Toriba had already run out the door.

Korosensei and the students of Class E too had noticed Toriba leaving.

"I wonder where he's going?" Sugaya wondered.

"I don't know but judging by his expression he has invented something troublesome," Fuwa deducted.

Nagisa turned to face Korosensei. "Should somebody go after him?" he asked.

"That's not necessary. In worst case it would expose us to both Isogai, Kataoka and the main campus students," Korosensei explained. "So let's just stay here and continue keeping eye on the remaining students."

Over ten minutes later Toriba returned to the library and headed towards his fellow club members.

"Has anything interesting happened?" Toriba asked in a whisper as he stopped beside them.

"Absolutely nothing," Tsunoguchi sighed in boredom.

"Well, that will change soon," Toriba announced as he took off his backpack and placed it on the floor.

Tsunoguchi and Murasai leaned closer while Toriba unzipped his backpack. In addition of a wallet and a camera case, there were also six opened soda cans.

"Those shouldn't be brought to the library," Murasai noted as Toriba grabbed one of the cans.

"The ban only applies to full cans," Toriba informed knowingly.

Tsunoguchi turned up her nose. "Where did you get those?" she asked.

"I bought them from a nearby convenience store. At first I planned to drink all of them but I could only drink one completely and a half of the second, so I emptied rest of them into the trash can," Toriba told.

"What a waste," Murasai muttered.

"Yeah, yeah. But back to the business," Toriba ordered. "I'll throw the can on the Class Es' table and you film it to look like they had broken the library's rules."

Murasai didn't look enthusiastic. "Wouldn't it be better if we just wait them to do something bad by themselves?"

Both Toriba and Tsunoguchi gave him irritated look.

"I'm fine with this. I can't wait anymore that something would happen," Tsunoguchi announced.

"So the majority agree with the plan," Toriba concluded with pleased expression as he stood up and weighed the can in his hand like it was a baseball. "Get ready."

Tsunoguchi and Murasai pointed the cameras at Isogai and Kataoka and then Toriba threw the can towards their table.

But nothing happened. There wasn't a sound of the can hitting the table and neither Isogai or Kataoka rose their eyes from their works.

Toriba frowned in confusion. He looked around to see where the can had landed but it was nowhere to be seen.

Tsunoguchi turned back to face Toriba. "Where did you throw it?" she asked.

"I don't know," Toriba hissed and grabbed an another can from his backpack. "Let's try again. Keep filming."

Toriba threw the second, third, fourth and fifth can but none of them hit the table and they were nowhere to be seen after throwing.

"What's going on here?" Toriba wondered with frustrated tone. "I threw the cans in different ways and all of them failed."

"I hope you aren't considering a career as a professional baseball player," Tsunoguchi muttered.

"Shut up," Toriba snapped. He grabbed the last can and glared at Isogai and Kataoka who were still peacefully continuing their works. "This must be thrown so that it will definitely hit," he muttered as his eyes wandered in the library. His gaze stopped at the shelf behind Kataoka and after thinking for a moment Toriba announced quietly: "Okay, this is what we do. Murasai will climb on top of the shelf behind Kataoka and throw the can on the table while Tsunoguchi and I film everything."

"What?" Murasai yelped, staring at Toriba with the look of bewilderment. "How do you think I would get there?"

"Do I have to do everything myself?" Toriba muttered as he looked around again until he noticed a ladder placed next to a staff door. "Tsunoguchi, get that ladder here."

"This is stupid," Tsunoguchi grumbled as she left to fetch the ladder.

Toriba gave the can to Murasai who put it into the pocket of his red hoodie with disgruntled expression. After Tsunoguchi had brought the ladder and placed it in front of the shelf, Murasai climbed on top of the shelf while Toriba and Tsunoguchi returned back to their observation point with their cameras.

"This isn't what I was expecting when I decided to join the Broadcasting club," Murasai thought bitterly to himself as he positioned himself on the shelf and studied his targets. "Okay, they haven't noticed me. I'll just throw the can and then get down quickly."

Murasai slipped his hand inside the pocket of his hoodie in order to grab the can but he frowned when he felt nothing there. Murasai thrusted his hand deeper into his pocket but it was empty.

"What the heck? I know I put that can into my pocket," Murasai wondered to himself. "Did it drop?"

Toriba and Tsunoguchi watched Murasai looking around from the top of the shelf.

"What the heck is he doing? Why he doesn't throw that can already?" Toriba asked with impatient expression.

Tsunoguchi sighed heavily. As she happened to glance to her left, Tsunoguchi's eyes widened when she saw a librarian, a middle-aged man with glasses, walking in their direction with frown.

"Oh, crap," Tsunoguchi gasped, causing Toriba to turn his attention in the same direction and notice the librarian. Tsunoguchi quickly turned back in Murasai's direction and hissed loud enough to him to hear: "Get down there, Murasai. The librarian is coming."

Tsunoguchi's warning startled Murasai and he quickly lowered his leg in order to place it on the top rung of the ladder but his leg felt nothing.

"Wha-? Where is the ladder?" Murasai wondered to himself as he glanced down, only to see that the ladder was gone. After looking for the ladder for a moment, Murasai hadn't other choice but to turn his gaze in the direction of his club mates and give an apologetic look to the librarian who was standing next to Toriba and Tsunoguchi and glaring at Murasai.

The ladder was found where Tsunoguchi had taken it. After Murasai had got down from the shelf, the trio stood awkwardly in front of the librarian.

"That kind of behavior isn't tolerated here," the librarian informed sternly as he glared at them.

"No, sir," Tsunoguchi sighed.

"Youth of your age should already know how to behave in public," the librarian continued.

"Yes, sir. It was a stupid idea," Murasai agreed.

The librarian looked at the trio in turn. "So, if you understand your mistake and you won't repeat it, I don't have to ban you from entering the library. Do we agree?" he asked.

"Yes, sir," Tsunoguchi, Murasai and Toriba replied, although Toriba didn't bother to hide his annoyance.

"Very well. You get off with a warning this time," the librarian decided, looking now calmer.

"Thank you," they thanked with a bow.

After the librarian had left, Tsunoguchi turned to face Toriba. "So. Do you have a new 'working' plan?" she asked sharply.

Toriba glared at Tsunoguchi. "It wasn't my fault that the plan didn't work," he hissed. "If you have a better idea, I would like to hear it."

"Hey," Murasai hushed suddenly. "Isogai and Kataoka are leaving."

Toriba and Tsunoguchi turned their eyes in the direction of the Class E representatives' table to see that they had already picked up their belongings, returned the book they had used back to their places and were now heading towards the door.

Tsunoguchi turned back to Toriba. "Looks like we failed. Can we now go to make an another story for our club?"

"No. We'll follow them," Toriba announced. "I'm sure that that way we'll get the material we need." After saying this Toriba ran to the door, leaving Tsunoguchi and Murasai no other choice but follow him.

While the students of the main campus followed Isogai and Kataoka towards the city center, an another group stepped out from the library.

"They're stubborn in a bad way," Okano sighed as she followed with her eyes the youth who were walking away.

"I almost thought that they would give up after Korosensei ruined their plan by catching all those cans and taking the ladder away," Mimura commented.

"The assassins have to accept the fact that everything won't always go according the plan," Korosensei reminded while he threw the last can he had stolen from Murasai in the nearby recycling bin. "Forward! We have to continue protecting Isogai and Kataoka's date."

"They're still following us," Kataoka noted as Isogai and she were waiting for the pedestrian light to turn green.

"I wasn't expecting the main campus students to be this determined about spying us," Isogai sighed when the light turned green and they began crossing the crosswalk. "Well, maybe they lost their interest in the next place and decide to go to do something else."

Kataoka turned to gaze curiously at Isogai. "Where are we going?"

"To the movies."

To be continue...
