Indeed, the paths our group of heroes took were separated as such, especially the one Ava and Nathaniel were on years after. Little did the happy couple know, there was going to be more bumps on this road than first expected...

Nathaniel: Isn't this great? The salty sea air, the wind blowing in your face...a perfect day to be at sea!

Ava: Just remember why we're here, Nate.

Nathaniel: Just enjoying the sights...

Ava: When Mentor said you needed one for yourself, I guess he wasn't kidding.

Nathaniel: Hey, just because you know the setup doesn't mean I can do it better, Ava. I don't need anybody giving it to me!

Sailor: The parcel is with the Templar Admiral on the lead ship, Captain. Once he gives the orders, it will be lost!

Ava: The parcel itself is less interesting than its intended recipient. Let's eliminate this errand boy Admiral and unmask the true Templar threat. When I became an Assassin, I swore to leave piracy behind, but the old methods have served the Creed more than once.

Sailor: "Everything is permitted" after all, captain.

Ava: Aye. And often it is necessary.

(They attacked the Templar fleet, boarding the Man O' War. Nathaniel battles soldiers while Ava killed the Admiral and took the parcel.)

Ava: Bastienne Josèphe. Port-au-Prince. What business do Templars have there?

Nathaniel: Don't know, but I get the feeling we're bound to find out.

Sailor: Captain! More French vessels at our tail!

Ava: Too many. We'll retreat through the storm.

Sailor: We will be smashed ashore!

Nathaniel: A worse fate awaits if we let this land in Templar hands.

Sailor: Aye, captain.

The pair fought the storm and the armada as best they could but ended up swallowed whole! The next time that they awoke, the pair didn't even know if they were where they needed to be...

Nathaniel: Ugh. That was certainly not fun, don't you think?

(They soon noticed a woman being attacked.)

Overseer: Dirty sow.

Woman: No!

Overseer: This will cost you an ear.

Ava: Bully. The Templar can wait. This woman must not suffer.

Nathaniel(unsheathing his cutlass for the first time in a long while): Lead the way, then!(Ava goes onward, and armed with a machete she found on the beach, killed the overseer and saved the woman.)

Woman: Thank God. Sorry. I have nothing to offer but thanks.

Nathaniel: Nothing else is needed. As a boy, I fled the same fate.

Woman: Why would you risk recapture?

Ava: Men of principle know the bigger risk is to turn away. I am looking for Bastienne Josèphe. Do you know her?

Woman: Of course not! But any "fine gentleman" may lead you to her. Too late for this one. Find another in town.

Ava: The thanks is now mine. Do you have a place of refuge?

Woman: My family waits in the mountains. Beyond the mountains, more mountains.

Nathaniel: God be with you.(They entered the city and while Ava locates their Templar, Nathaniel runs afoul of a purple-armored knight)I don't know who you are, but you definitely are confused if you think your mistress is letting us in without violence!

?: Do not play games with me. I am Thomas Mason; Knight of the Void, and you are no match for my power!

Nathaniel: Typical Templar. Oh well, I tried resolving this on peaceful terms, but if you insist on doing this the hard way...(They fight, as the crowd filled with civilians, jailers, and overseers watches with interest. Soon enough, Nathaniel realizes that, like it or not, this stranger is the tutor Ah Tabai had in mind)I...I...

Thomas: Ha, it seems the Mentor wasn't kidding when he said you needed some practice.(He removes his helmet)Now, I believe our girlfriends await us.

(At La Dame en Rose, Ava overheard a conversation between Bastienne and Governor de Fayet.)

Bastienne: You think me a traitor!

De Fayet: Slaves will be safer for it.

Bastienne: Mr. Governor, if they felt safe at the plantation, do you think they would rebel?

De Fayet: Of course. It is their animal nature. Violence is the only currency that motivates them. Like coin, to you. If you want to protect your African friends, spread the word. Quiet them down. Otherwise...

Bastienne: You need not describe. I know what you do.

De Fayet: I could not raise a hand to hurt a fly. But the Overseers have every right to discipline as they see fit.

Bastienne: That will not be necessary. I will deliver your message. The cost will be high.

De Fayet: We will both profit by it.

Bastienne: Is there any other service you require, Governor?

De Fayet: An old man like me? I dare say Guzan has exhausted me already.

Bastienne: Then show yourself out.

Selina: I tell you, Bastienne. Guys like him just make a woman feel so dull, dull, dull, dull. But my Tommy is much more different, you know?(Thomas comes in with Nathaniel)

Thomas: You called?

Ava: Madame Josèphe. Expecting a package?

Bastienne: It, but not you. Where is the Admiral? I see. And do you mean for me to meet the same fate? Look around. One threat, and these men will end you.

Ava: I bring no threat. Tell me, how do the Templars allow you to carry on like this?

Bastienne: I am only the messenger. But before you judge, remember the Templar coin, like any, will buy the freedom of men like you. I know this mark.

Ava: You know nothing.

Bastienne: You have the brand of a slave, the eloquence of a scholar... hands of a sailor... and an Assassin's hood. Few weapons. I think the storm stranded you. What do you need? A ship? Shelter? These things can be had for the price of this parcel.

Ava: I need nothing I can't win for myself. But prove that what you promise is true, and perhaps something can be arranged.

Bastienne: Is this your game? Very well. Then you will do me a favor. Augustin Dieufort is a very secretive man. First, find his plantation contact, and give him this message from the Governor. Augustin will give you all the proof you need. Repeat this password: If you don't go to sleep, the crab will eat you.

Ava: If you don't go to sleep, the crab will eat you.

Bastienne: Not bad. A convincing baritone. Now, I suggest you leave, before my admirers get suspicious.

Nathaniel: Well, I think leaving my girlfriend to this sounds simple. But I've got a lotta doubts about you, Madame!

Selina: Careful now, boy. After all, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!

Nathaniel: Yeah, well this man's been scorned once today and he's not about to be humiliated again! So, why don't you back off and let me and Miss Bastienne have ourselves a friendly type...(He ends up slugged by Thomas and soon, all of the men at the brothel are fighting him)Heh, looks like Nathan's finally getting something he wants from all this!(Meanwhile, Ava frees their brethren, and finds exactly who she is looking for)

Ava: Hey, I know this tune. Here's hoping all that practice paid off. I practically sung it on the way here... Ahem... If you don't go to sleep, the crab will eat you.

Slave: The wise man is down that path.

Ava: Thank you, sister.(She reached the Maroon hideout, which was under attack. Saving those present, she then killed the overseers and returned to the hideout.)Augustin Dieufort?

Augustin: People say without doing, God does without saying. The French governor is two-faced. Bastienne helps as she can, but Maroon independence is long to build. Longer now. A warrior like you would be a great asset to our cause.

Ava: With due respect, I serve a different Brotherhood. And am honor-bound to return as soon as I find the means.

Augustin: But only the Iwa know when that will be. Meantime, I have sanctuary and weapons to share.

Ava: Perhaps our needs may align for a time. What do you need?

Augustin: Recruits. Liberated slaves. The warriors among them join me. The others grow the community for which we fight. (Little by little, bird builds his nest.)

Ava: I suppose I might lend a hand, for a time.

Augustin: To give little is not cheap. I will see that you are rewarded for whatever you can give. Best begin soon. There is much to do.

(As night and rain falls, Ava meets with Augustin Dieufort and collaborated a plan to steal a ship.)

Augustin: Every day, more slaves arrive.

Ava: Human cargo makes for lucrative trade. I once hoped men of education could be made to see the cost. But profit makes them ignorant.

Augustin: With the right vessel, you could intercept the slave ships before they arrive. Or you would be free to leave. You have already paid more than your share to the Maroons of Saint-Domingue. And I am no master, I cannot choose for you. This brigantine could meet your needs, if you could relieve it of its crew. Bastienne has volunteered her women to draw the men away. Or you could set that tower alight to distract them.

Ava: Excellent options, all of them.(Augustin handed Ava some firecrackers.)What's this?

Augustin: Firecrackers. Some of your recruits salvaged them. It's only right that you should use them.

Ava: Excellent.

Augustin: Once you send me a signal, I will send our men to join you.

(Ava headed for the harbor and used a powder keg to light the watchtower on fire. With the guards distracted, she climbed to the top of the Experto Crede and signaled Augustin. The Maroons boarded the vessel and helped her take it out to sea.)

Ava: Augustin! I'm surprised to see you here. Are you not needed in the headquarters?

Augustin: I can train another to take my place there. But when you are gone, who will captain this ship? You must teach me.

Ava: Aye, I will. But you must not call me Captain. You are the leader of these men.

Augustin: But you have earned the right. At sea, you will be my captain.

Thomas: Hey. You guys sailing here too?

Ava: Yeah.

Thomas: Well, lucky you.

Ava: Thanks. Is Selina here your Quartermaster?

Thomas: Nope. Fact is, she's my traveling companion here on the Scholar. But if you wanna see what I have for that position... Oi Luca, Nathan!(Ava laughs when she sees her boyfriend is a quartermaster to his own mentor)

Ava: Hard knocks, aren't they?

Nathaniel: Yeah. After he thrashed me, took shots at me, and literally kept me guessing as to how he was hidden...I got here.(The gang began patrolling the West Indies in search of slave ships.)

Augustin: How did you come by your knowledge of the sea, A?

Ava: It was my first true home. Buccaneers offered me my first glimpse of freedom and I took it. I learned by observation.

Augustin: They would not teach you?

Ava: Nor accepted me as their captain once I had proven myself. Only the Assassins offered me real authority.

Augustin: You were born in Trinidad?

Ava: Aye, on a plantation.

Augustin: Are there not Maroons there who could use your help? I know we are not alone in Saint-Domingue to fight for independence.

Ava: There could well be. I have not returned to find out.(Soon enough, the gang met with Bastienne Josèphe.)

Luca: You know, I totally get why you're an expert at this Quartermaster gig. I can't keep up with you, Nate.

Nathaniel: Yeah, well, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, Luca. After all, you're not-so bad yourself.

Luca: Yeah. Still, teach doesn't think you're ready to truly embrace the Creed. Not until you've proven yourself to your brethren, that is.

Nathaniel: And how do you propose I do that?

Luca: I think we both know the answer to that one, Nate.(He handed Nathaniel a set of slave clothes. After changing, they, and Thomas followed Bastienne.)

Nathaniel: A slave's rags? What do you mean by this indignity? Do you mean to see me recaptured?

Selina: Indignity? Do you hold your enslaved brothers in such low esteem?

Nathaniel: Do you hold any man in high esteem, or are we all pawns to you?

Bastienne: Ha! You should be so lucky. There is no trick. It is only that, well, Governor de Fayet will host a soirée soon, and imagine, I am not invited! The excess of the occasion calls for an abundance of supplies to be delivered to his mansion. That's where you come in. With your crate, you will blend in with the men delivering the goods. Once on the grounds, you can spy on the good Governor.

Nathaniel: Will the overseers not notice one man extra, or are you simply unconcerned for my well-being?

Bastienne: I've never met an Overseer who could tell two slaves apart. Nevertheless, be careful. I sense you are as bright as you are strong. You will figure it out.

Nathaniel: Yes, ma'am.

Selina: Here they come. Join the line. Be careful.

(The lead slave stumbled, distracting the guards long enough for Nate to join the line. In his haste, he bumped into the slave in front of him, startling him.)

Overseer: What is going on back there? Fall in line!

Thomas: Greetings, sir. We've picked this animal up near the supply cart and thought it would be best to take him to the Governor personally.

Overseer: Hmph. No slave should ever be near the carts! Alright, move along.

Nathaniel(whispering): That is by far the most convincing lie I've ever heard.(Luca winks)

(Nathaniel and the other men followed the slaves to the governor's mansion, conversing with the man in front of him while walking.)

Slave 1: Who are you?

Nathaniel: A friend.

Slave 1: This is a joke to you.

Nathaniel: No.

Slave 1: You will get us all killed.

Nathaniel: Shh!(As they reached the mansion, another slave spoke out.)

Slave 2: Another party for the pig?

Slave 1: Shh! You are too complacent.

De Fayet: Excellent. Put the crates down there, gentlemen.(Nathaniel and the slaves dropped their crates and awaited further directions.)

De Fayet: Alright. Enough socializing. Get back to work. The grounds must be fit for a king when my guests arrive. Lazy bastards. The lot of them should be whipped. I'm a prince, you realize, I'm a prince, for putting up with it.

Slave 1: My feet hurt.

Slave 2: What good is complaining?

Slave 3: I will remember you said that.

Slave 2: Quiet now.

Nathaniel: Friend, does the guard change often?

Slave 4: As often as night moves to day.

Nathaniel: Thank you.

Slave 4: If you are a friend, prove it, foreigner.

Nathaniel: I will.(Thinking)Believe me, I will. After all, I'm finally starting to realize what being an Assassin is all about. It means sticking up for others, challenging the oppressors, standing up for what you believe in! I guess I do owe you one, teach. Without you, I would've not known who I could be.(That night, he snuck out of the hut and eavesdropped on de Fayet and Louis Godin through the mansion's window.)

Godin: The expedition will cost more than our initial calculations suggested.

De Fayet: I heard you gave Bastienne's girl a jewel worth more than half the fleet. Does this account for the missing funds?

Godin: What I do with my purse is my own business.

De Fayet: What happened to the funds I released LAST month?

Godin: The science of navigation is expensive.

De Fayet: I dare say it is... if you measure every fathom in perfume and silk.

Godin: If no suitable Spanish vessel is available, could we not use a French ship?

De Fayet: Are you trying to start a war? The treaty between our nations is fragile. We cannot afford any suspicion of smuggling.

Godin: Your name will go down in history with mine if you supply the funds and the ship!

De Fayet: Thank you for the offer, but I have an expensive colony to govern.

Godin: With the volume of slaves you import, I'd have thought you have gold to spare.

De Fayet: Even free labor is not free, friend. Slaves are expensive to replace. The poor beasts expire before they can reproduce.

Godin: Even your slave ships would benefit from improved navigation. Fewer accidents.

De Fayet: Now that is interesting.

Nathaniel truly was by far exceeding the expectations of Ah Tabai, and surprising as it was, Thomas. He was starting to become someone who actually wanted to stand up for the other guy, and his bond with Luca was bigger than ever! In truth, this journey had been somewhat interesting so far. Now, he and Ava just needed to make more progress...

Ava: Bastienne! I feared we lost you to the bitterness of depression.

Bastienne: Never. Those arrogant men cannot cut me out of my own network. The cost is too great for the slaves.

Ava: And for your pride?

Bastienne: What does it matter, so long as I work for their freedom?

Nathaniel: Whatever has inspired it, I'm glad to hear the fight back in your voice. How can I help?

Bastienne: The scientist, Godin. What is his full purpose here? Can you find that out?

Ava: Whatever secrets he carries, I will uncover.

Bastienne: Start with the harbormaster. He sees everyone who comes and goes. He should have kept me informed.

(Ava and Nathaniel eavesdropped on the harbormaster.)

Harbormaster: Governor de Fayet requests that Mister Godin's Geodesic Expedition be equipped with every resource it demands. The first need is rather unusual. Mr. Godin requires, for reasons of scientific record keeping, three er... literate slaves.

Woman: Who would have taught them? The Code Noir prohibits-

Harbormaster: Perhaps among your house slaves such a "worker" exists? You may communicate it privately. There is a reward.

Woman: But what will they do?

Harbormaster: Take notes, I suppose?

Woman: Can none of the French scientists take notes?

Harbormaster: Not if they are to carry equipment at the same time.

Nathaniel: Interesting. Sounds like something big could be going down.

Ava: You think?(Reading a letter)Spain continues to insist the expedition wait for a Spanish ship. But we are allies now! Can they not be persuaded to allow a single French vessel passage, in the name of science? We are after all, allowing Spanish chaperones on board. Signed Louis Godin.(To Nathan)He does not realize the risks of this voyage.

Scientist 1: In the territory of Quito, the mountains and plains will favour our triangulations. Our measurements will allow us to know the exact shape of the Earth.

Scientist 2: Egg, oval or globe?

Scientist 1: That is the question. With this knowledge France and Spain will have the privilege of navigational precision.

Scientist 2: Won't the Spanish then have too great an advantage at war?

Scientist 1: It was the only way to gain access to Quito.

Scientist 2: They are always one step ahead.

Scientist 1: Now that we are allies, perhaps we will walk together.

Scientist 2: Perhaps. Still, I'm surprised they are allowing your expedition through. Are they not worried about smuggling?

Scientist 1: Oh probably. But for all their military might, they are not as strong as we are in the sciences.

Scientist 2: They need you, then.

Scientist 1: And they are sending us a couple of chaperones. Have you met Antonio de Ulloa yet? I hear he is quite the prodigy.

Scientist 2: Not yet. I'm sure it will be a great pleasure.

Nathaniel: Hey you!

Messenger: What do you want?

Ava: Strange time to be delivering a message. Does it by any chance concern the expedition that's leaving shortly?

Messenger: Who are you to care?

Nathaniel: Tell me what you know, or I will wring it out of you.

Messenger: No! Very well. The Governor wanted me to tell the harbormaster to allow a French ship to be sent, rather than a Spanish, on the condition that certain goods be transported as a special favor.

Ava: The expedition will also be used for smuggling.

Messenger: Well, I wouldn't say it plainly, but...

Nathaniel: Thank you. Good night.

Fisherman: I know you. You're the one with the "Ghost Ship". I have a job for you.

Ava: Mmm?

Fisherman: I sense you are looking for information. Meanwhile, I have information.

Nathaniel: And I'm sure you have some condition for giving it?

Fisherman: Yes! My rival uses slaves to fish three times my haul. If they were freed - the slaves, that is - I would be so relieved. For their health, of course.

Ava: Of course. Consider it done.(They found the rival fisherman and stole the key to the slave cage.)

Rival: The finest catch of the day! The most stock at the lowest price!(The pair freed the slaves and returned to the fisherman.)

Fisherman: Thank you kindly.

Nathaniel: We did not do it for kindness. The information now, out with it!

Fisherman: Ah! Yes. The harbormaster is stockpiling too much cargo for a simple expedition. Too much cargo, not enough cannons to protect it. Can only mean one thing: smuggling.

Ava: Thank you.(The pair soon came across another letter)Once the circumference of the Earth is known, we may navigate more precisely, and better anticipate the position of the enemy. We will require fewer ships because we will lose fewer ships. Our cannons will aim true. And commercially, well, you know how it is with pirates and slave ships. We can put an end to nonsense by supporting this expedition... Signed, Gouverneur de Fayet. There is much at stake here.(They returned to Bastienne.)

Bastienne: Well? What did you find?

Ava: An opportunity beyond imagination! These scientists aim to record navigational secrets for our beloved kings to use at war. But we can seize them, to extraordinary advantage for my Brotherhood - and the Maroon! We need only supply literate recruits, and the rest will take care of itself.

Bastienne: That is all? Nothing more on the governor?

Nathaniel: "That is all?" That is everything! How many more could be freed with this knowledge in our hands?

Bastienne: All things require balance, Ava. To achieve independence, the Maroons require stability, anonymity, and information. That has always been my role. What now? That is what I thought. The storm brought you in, and you'll leave in a tempest of "opportunity" and "imagination", and I will be left here to do what I can, powerless.

Ava: No. Any day now, the Maroons will rise up. Then I will leave. Not before. I have decided.

Bastienne: You are as arrogant as the French. Foreigners, all of you, that's all you are.

Ava: Bastienne-

Nathaniel: Babe, I think you both need to cool down.

Thomas: Wise words...

Selina: For someone who finally understands how to treat a woman with more respect.

Thomas: And that's why I think you've truly become one with the Creed and all it stands for!

Nathaniel: I didn't understand it then.(He smiles)Now, I do.

And in truth, Ava and Madame Bastienne did cool down...

Bastienne: Ava, your ambition still gives me pause, but I have promised Augustin my help.

Ava: What's this?

Bastienne: A forged manifest, or so I am told. One of your famous recruits wrote it.

Nathaniel: Joachim François. Henri Marchand. Fortunée Jean. Good. I'm sure you will serve the expedition well.

Bastienne: Louis Godin will meet with the Harbormaster to arrange the remaining affairs of your expeditionary voyage. You may take the opportunity to switch the manifests.

Fortunée: At your signal, we will be ready to board.

Ava: Thank you. And thank you, Bastienne.

Bastienne: Anything for the "Maroons" of Saint-Domingue.

(The pair located Louis Godin and tailed him.)

Scientist: Thank you so much for sharing your fascinating research.

Godin: The thanks is all mine. And now, I must away, for a meeting with the harbormaster. All in the name of science, of course.

Scientist: Of course.(Godin met with the harbormaster.)

Godin: Good day.

Harbormaster: And to you as well.

Godin: I trust the preparations are coming along well. Things certainly do seem to be busy!

Harbormaster: Indeed, sir. As you can see, my men are working around the clock to prepare everything. You may expect a fine vessel, fitted to precisely the demands of science, and your eh... other activities.

Godin: What other activities?

Harbormaster: Do not worry about a thing, good man. All will be attended to. There is only the outstanding matter of your slaves. Do you have the names for the manifest?

Godin: Yes, right here.

Harbormaster: Come then. You must be itching to inspect everything.

Godin: Indeed, I am!

(The pair followed the men and switched the original manifest with the fake one.)

Godin: What's all this?

Harbormaster: Oh this? This is... er. You will not be interested. Dull, sailing things. It does not concern you.

Godin: But won't it add weight that could be used for more equipment?

Harbormaster: No. Nothing like that. Please (Mister) Godin, I do not wish to bore you with the details. I think you will find you will be very comfortable.

Godin: Well, as comfortable as one can be at sea, anyway!

Harbormaster: How true! How very true.

(Ava reached higher ground and watched the Vautour leave Port-au-Prince, while noticing several pirate ships.)

Ava: The black flag. They'll be picked to the bone.

Nathaniel: Teach must be frantic. I'd better go.

Ava: Same here.(She took the Experto Crede out to sea to protect the expedition.)We must defend that ship. French or not, these scientists must reach their destination. Our people must capture their secrets. The knowledge is more important than any cargo.

Augustin: Aye Captain. It is worth the fight.

Ava: With a little skill and the right wind, it won't last long.(She destroyed the pirate fleet, and set course for Port-au-Prince.)Can you picture it, Augustin? Once you are trained, and our recruits return with these navigational secrets, you will be able to go explore and recruit from any land.

Augustin: It will be a great temptation, but my fight is in Port-au-Prince, A. I must stay focused.

Ava: Build a Maroon navy then!

Augustin: Do not mistake my gratitude, A. This ship is a grand blessing, and advanced knowledge of the seas, a boon to our cause. But the Maroon do not crave an empire. Only independence over our own territory.

Ava: Very well Augustin. But mark my words, you will be fit to command a navy – of one ship or many – when our work here is done.

(The gang met with Bastienne Josèphe and Selina in La Dame en Rose.)

Selina: About time you guys got here. Things are getting nuts.

Thomas: What's up?

Bastienne: It is as I feared. With all the slaves you have freed, the French are in panic.

Ava: Let the French live in the fear they earned.

Bastienne: It is not so simple. Curfews are strict. Punishments are harsher and more frequent. You help the ones you freed, but at what cost to the ones you can't?

Nathaniel: A small price for independence. The sooner Augustin's revolution comes, the sooner all slaves will live in peace as free people.

Bastienne: Gouverneur de Fayet threatens retaliation.

Ava: Then he is behind this!

Bastienne: No. Ava-

Ava: Not another word! I don't want to hear it.

Selina: I'm coming with you.

Thomas: Selina...

Selina: I'll be fine.(The whole gang soon went out to sea to search for the slave ship.)

Augustin: In your pirate days, did you cross many slave ships?

Ava: More than a few. But when I sailed with Kenway, plunder was the only prize. Plunder, or information leading to more plunder.

Augustin: Did you never wish to intervene?

Ava: It is wise for a quartermaster to keep his wishes to himself, if he also wishes to remain as quartermaster. But yes, the thought did cross my mind. When the Assassins offered me the opportunity to pursue more serious aims, I left the plundering behind.

Augustin: But the slave ships also?

Ava: No, for I am still an Assassin, and I have found them again. I would not trade my years as a pirate for anything.

Augustin: You enjoyed your freedom.

Ava: They hardened me for the work we do today. And when I am done, you will also have pirates to thank for your training.

Augustin: Yes, Captain.(The gang destroyed two of the slave ship's escorts, but the last one attempted to sink the slave ship itself.

Ava: No! They'll sink the ship.

Augustin: Captain Ava, I think we must act fast! Captain, I worry. If we do not respond fast, it will be too late!

Nathaniel: My thoughts exactly!(They destroyed the last escort and boarded the slave ship.)

Ava: I'll go below! Return to the ship and prepare to receive survivors.

Nathaniel: Not alone you're not. I'm going with you.

Luca: So am I.

Thomas: Keep the ship running, mates. I may need a pickup when we resurface!

(They freed the slaves trapped below deck.

Ava: Hurry! Go now!

The ship sank, leaving everyone scrambling to get the heck outta dodge! As Nathan helped his mentor, Luca bravely aided Selina. Afterward, it seems like everyone barely managed to escape.)

Sailor: Captain! What on earth happened?

Thomas: The Governor happened.

Selina: You. You saved me.

Luca: Didn't wanna leave you behind.

Nathaniel: Hey. What're we standing around here for? We gotta get this lovely lady back to her own ship.

Ava: Nate...

Nathaniel: Just saying.

(Later, the Maroons buried the drowned slaves on a beach.)

Bastienne: Governor de Fayet. I thought I understood his indifference. I did not anticipate the extent of his heartlessness.

Ava: You tried to warn me. We are all guilty. But the governor will pay with his own life. My creed demands that I see to it.

Augustin: It's useless. Revenge is cold comfort. Once de Fayet is gone, another tyrant will take his place.

Ava: His death must give this generation of warriors hope. They must not abandon the goal of independence.

Bastienne: And the death of these souls? Some barely knew life.

Augustin: We will always mourn them.

Selina: Again, thank you.

Luca: I did what I had to do.

Thomas: And you did it bravely, while your fellow Quartermaster has proven himself true to the cause. And now that he has, I think we should put the spotlight on a new warrior. One, whom I think, might just follow the most exceptional example of them all! Where other men blindly follow the truth, remember...

Luca: Nothing is true.

Ava: Where other men are limited by morality or law, remember...

Luca: Everything is permitted.

Nathaniel: We work in the dark to serve the light.

Thomas: We are Assassins.(Those gathered cheer for Luca, while Augustin and Bastienne smile. That fateful night)

Ava: I believe it is time. The governor grows complacent. His guards, lazy. They have already forgotten the terror they wrought. I will remind them.

Augustin: Once you have removed de Fayet, you will no longer be safe here.

Ava: Nor will the Maroons be, if I stay.

Augustin: It will bring me sadness to see you go.

Ava: We will meet again, to celebrate Maroon Independence.

Augustin: You know well the grounds of the Governor's residence. Choose your moment. Do not get caught.

(Nathaniel is with Luca as Thomas' crew prepares the Scholar)

Nathaniel: You ready?

Luca: Yeah. I'm going to make sure I start my new career with guns blazing!

Nathaniel: I thought so.(The gang located the governor.)

De Fayet: Where do they hide the "ghost ship"?

Slave: Brothers? They did not survive the journey here.

De Fayet: I will personally find and kill every last one of you until I find my answer. Where is the hideout of the Maroons?

Slave: I can't remember.

De Fayet: You can save your brothers by telling me: where is the Maroon leader?

Slave: I have no information to give.

De Fayet: Very well. Since you will not talk, this one will die.(He noticed Ava and the others.)It's her! The leader! Attack!(Ava and Nathaniel chase him down, remembering all that they had been through here. The guards try to stop them, but Thomas and Luca intervene)

Ava: You ready?

Nathaniel: It's my first one, and I'm DEFINITELY not going to miss it for the world!(They assassinated de Fayet.)

De Fayet: Help!

Nathaniel: Shut up!

De Fayet: Help!

Ava: Who will come to your rescue? Your slaves? The overseers who follow your orders? Pathetic. What kind of man does not fight for himself?

De Fayet: Why-

Nathaniel: Why?!

Ava: I have killed many men on principle, but never have I wanted one to suffer as much as you - to understand what it is to gasp and beg for your life, like the innocents you drowned!

De Fayet: You mean those slaves? That ship? But they are not even human! Without the discipline and guidance of their masters, they turn to rebellion, murder, like you.

Ava: I only wish that were true.(The whole gang returned to Bastienne Josèphe.)

Ava: It is done. He suffered badly. I made sure of it.

Bastienne: Have you come to say goodbye?

Ava: For now. But not without giving you this.(She gave the content of the Templar parcel to Bastienne.)

Bastienne: Oh.

Ava: After all this time, you lost interest?

Bastienne: You're not worried it will fall into Templars' hands?

Ava: I fear worse things now. No Templar plot can equal your wrath.

Bastienne: You try to make light, at a time like this?

Ava: Only to lighten my sorrow at leaving.

Bastienne: You will return to your Brotherhood of Assassins, and whatever duty they assign you.

Ava: I will return, yes. But I feel a tide changing within me. I am no longer young. I must devote my energy to those who struggle for freedom. I will use my conviction in my Creed to defend them, alongside anyone who will help me.

Bastienne: I have no one left to sell this to. I will keep it for memory.
