chapter 8: What a night!
While Tangle and Whisper were having their moment, there were another two potential lovers, who were also at the verge of confessing. And more specifically, the Blue blur was on the verge of confessing, but he just didn't know how to do it. It was hard enough to ask Amy to dance with him, let alone ask her on a real, proper date.
The two were currently dancing smoothly alongside everyone else. Thankfully, at that moment, Amy was looking at Tails and Cream, who were adorably dancing not too far from them. This was giving Sonic just enough time to come up with a way to ask the question.
''So Ames- no, I have to use her real name! Amy, whatchya' say we go out- no, I need to be more sophisticated! Madam Rose, will thee give me the honor to- Oh Gaia, NO! '' no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't get it right.
''Aren't they cute?'' Amy asked, while still looking at Tails and Cream.
Sonic looked at his little bro and smiled ''They sure are! Remind me a little of us when we were younger.''
''Yeah.'' Amy said, but her smile disappeared ''At least Cream doesn't behave like me when we first met.''
Sonic knew what she was talking about ''Hey, It's okey! You weren't that bad!''
But that didn't cheer Amy up ''Really, because I was acting like those crazy fan girls that follow you around.''
The blue hedgehog couldn't stand seeing her like this ''You know what's the difference between you and them: You were the first.''
That got Amy's attention.
''Back in the old days, I was still getting used to the whole hero business and I have to admit- I was unsure of myself.''
The pink hedgehog was shocked ''You!? Unsure?! Can't be!''
''It's true. I was unsure if I would be able to protect the world, still am from time to time. I am just very good at hiding it. But you and Tails, you made me believe that I can save the world. Heck, the fact that I had a fan girl was a super boost to my confidence.''
Amy was shocked. Never had she imagined that she had such an impact on Sonic.
''So yes, Amy, although you were acting crazy from time to time, your support is one of the things that made me the hero I am today.'' Sonic finished his speech.
Amy had tears in her eyes and that gave Sonic an idea. Now was the perfect time to ask her out on a date.
''And as my first fan girl I would like tooooo... tooo...'' and his confidence was gone ''toooo...you know... movie... night...''
Amy however immediately caught what he was trying to say and her heart started beating like crazy. Yet she managed to keep herself together ''Sonic the hedgehog, are you asking me out on a date?''
''NO! I MEAN YES! I MEAN MAYBE! I MEAN-'' the blabbering hedgehog was quickly silenced by the girl's finger.
''Calm down, Sonic!'' Amy ordered nicely ''You sound like Vector after ten cups of coffee. And yes- I would love to go out with you.''
Sonic was blushing like crazy ''Great, 'cause there's this movie that's coming out next Friday...I thought that maybe we can... watch it... together.''
Amy smiled ''Movie sound's great! How about 19:00 at Friday?''
''Perfect!'' a slick smile appeared on Sonic's face ''Like you.''
At that moment, Amy turned from pink to red.
Sonic and Amy's love scene didn't remain unnoticed by Silver and Blaze. While dancing, the newlyweds couldn't help but notice their friends' love sparks.
''About time!'' Silver said with a smile.
''Yes, about time!'' Blaze agreed ''Just like it was about time for Tangle and Whisper.''
''I didn't even know they had a thing for each other. They surprised me almost as much as Shadow and Rouge.''
''Yes, I am surprised too. I thought Rouge was into Knuckles.''
Silver smiled ''Guess girls really like the dark, handsome and brooding type.''
Blaze looked at her husband ''You are not dark and brooding, yet I still fell in love with you.''
Silver looked at the eyes of his wife ''Guess I am lucky I am handsome.''
''You are not the only one!'' Blaze said before locking lips with Silver.
Little did Silver and Blaze know that their love scene had been watched with jealousy. Omega wished he could just blow up the hedgehog's skull right then and there, but then Blaze would never love him. As much as it pained Omega to admit it, death and destruction were not going to solve his problems this time.
''I NEED TO SHOW BLAZE THAT I AM THE INFINITELY SUPREME HUSBAND! '' the big robot was thinking ''BUT WHAT CAN I BEAT HIM IN THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION? "
At that moment, Vector spoke ''Alright, guys and girls, that's enough lovey-dovey music for one night! Now let's hit it off with some techno music!''
The couples broke and everyone started dancing however they can. Once again, Sonic was the best dancer, but he had some real competition in the faces of Belle and Silver. Belle took advantage of her robotic being to dance in an impossible for an organic person way, while singing " 'Cause I'm a little girl! No strings attached! ''. Silver on the other hand was using his psychic abilities to perform great moves that impressed everyone.
At that moment it hit Omega. He made his way to Silver.
The silver hedgehog quickly noticed the big robot ''Oh hey Omega, how's it hanging?''
Omega didn't answer and instead pointed at Silver with one of his big fingers ''SILVER THE HEDGEHOG, I CHALLENGE YOU TO A BATTLE OF DANCING!''
Everyone gasped and the music ceased.
Silver smiled ''You are on, my robotic friend!''
''Finally!'' Vector yelled ''I was hoping we would have a dance off! That's why I brought this baby!'' he pulled out a record that had 'Dance off' written on it.
Vector placed it and a loud techno music started playing. The guests surrounded Silver and Omega, while giving them enough space to go wild.
''Show this bucket of bolts who's the king, mate!'' Marine yelled at Silver.
''Come on, Big O, crush him like a badnik!'' Rouge yelled at Omega.
After watching each other for a few moments, the battle began.
Omega was a surprisingly good dancer. Sure, his moves were a little mechanical, but he sure impressed the crowd. But Silver's moves were even better. Not only were they more alive, but he also used his powers to make his dancing even more spectacular. Omega was not beaten yet, though. At one point, the two opponents were practically shaking their chests in front of one another. But as the battle was progressing, it became clear to Omega that he can't beat Silver and the loving way Blaze was looking at Silver was the final straw.
Omega made a move that allowed him to (unnoticed by Silver) turn his right hand into a rocket launcher. He then turned and fired a missile at Silver while shouting ''DEATH AND DESTRUCTION!''
Thankfully, Silver made a accidental move that dodged the rocket and now it was flying towards the cake.
''NOT THE CAKE!'' Charmy yelled, but it was too late. The rocket exploded into the cake, causing pieces of it to fly all around the ballroom, while 'Ave Maria ' was playing in the background and everything was going on slow motion.
''My suit!'' Sonic was covered in cake.
''My dress!'' Amy didn't have that much on her, but it was still too much.
Shadow scrubbed that cake that was covering his face and ate it ''I am not complaining.''
Everyone looked at Omega.
''THAT WAS PART OF THE DANCE!'' the robot tried to defend himself.
Then Blaze came to him ''Omega, may we speak in private?''
The big robot nodded and the two went into a corner of the room. The other guests returned to dancing and chatting, but the other heroes continued to watch the princess and the robot.
''Omega, this can't go on anymore!'' said Blaze ''I know you have feelings for me.''
''ARE THEY THAT OBVIOUS?'' Blaze couldn't tell if Omega was sarcastic or not, but it didn't really matter.
''Yes, and you have to stop! I am very flattered, but this will never work. You are a great and loyal friend, Omega, but that's the farthest my feeling will go: friendship.''
Omega didn't speak, so Blaze continued ''I love Silver, I really do. But I care for you too. I don't want to see one of my friends getting upset over my happiness. I know that I am asking for a lot but try to let me go! I am sure that you will find a nice person to destroy things with, but that person is not me. You understand, right?''
After a long pause, Omega finally said ''AFFIRMATIVE!''
The princess smiled ''Thank you!''
At that moment Silver came ''Is everything alright?'' he asked.
''Everything is fine.'' Blaze responded ''In fact I think Omega has something to say to you, right Omega?''
''AFFIRMATIVE!'' the big robot stood up in front of Silver ''I APOLOGIZE FOR TRYING TO TERMINATE YOU!''
Silver smiled ''It's okay! I understand you, I would also kill someone for a hot kitten like Blaze.''
''SILVER!'' the hot kitten in question yelled, with blush on her face.
The silver hedgehog laughed, but he was then looked directly in the eyes by Omega.
''IF YOU DON'T TREAT HER WELL OR HARM HER IN ANY WAY- MY VENGEANCE WILL COME ON YOU!''
Silver smiled nervously ''Y-y-you don't have to worry about this! How abut we go back to the dancing?''
Silver and Omega started walking back to the crowd. Blaze was about to follow them, but she was approached by Rouge.
''Is everything clean now?'' asked the bat.
''Yes, everything is clean.'' the cat responded.
''Good to hear!'' Rouge face then became serious ''Listen, Blaze, about my attempt to steal your jewels-''
''No need to apologize! You already made up for it by protecting my wedding today.''
''Yes but I still feel bad! You were so nice to me and the others, yet what did I do- stabbed you in the back! And you didn't even rat me out!''
Blaze placed her hand on Rouge's shoulder ''Hey, you may not be perfect, but you are still my friend and when the time comes, I know I can count on you to have my back, like today. Besides, you were the one who pushed me to tell Silver how I feel. In a way this wedding is thanks to you.''
Rouge smiled ''Wow, thank you, Kitty! I too know I can count on you!''
Blaze smiled and the two girls hugged.
After breaking the hug, Rouge said ''Oh Kitty, can you do me a favor?''
''Yes, what is it?''
Rouge pointed at Silver ''Rock his world tonight for me!'' she winked at Blaze.
The cat's face turned completely red and she rolled her eyes.
The rest of the evening went down smoothly. But at the end of it, the event that all of the girls had been waiting for came- the bouquet toss.
''Why is she throwing the bouquet?'' Belle asked Cream.
''It's a tradition!'' Cream answered ''Whoever gets it is going to be the next one to get married.''
''I don't see the logic, but okay.'' Belle said as she joined the other girls.
''Aren't you going to join the rest of the girls, Miss Vanilla?'' Vector asked the mother rabbit.
''Heavens no!'' Vanilla answered ''I am way too old for such antics.''
''If you ask me, you are still quite the looker, Miss Vanilla.'' Vector winked at the rabbit.
''Oh, why thank you!'' Vanilla started blushing.
''THROW THE BOUQUET! THROW THE BOUQUET!" all the girls were chanting.
''Okay, settle down, you pirates!'' Blaze said, her hand holding the bouquet, her back- facing the girls ''Everyone ready?''
''If you don't hurry up-we will get to old for marriage!'' jocked Rouge.
''Here we go then!'' the bride covered her eyes with one of her hands ''One...Two...THREE!''
With her free hand, Blaze threw the bouquet in the air.
''MINE!" Amy yelled.
''OUT OF THE WAY!" Tangle pushed one of the girls aside.
''IT"S MINE!'' some girl screamed.
But Blaze's throw was too strong and the bouquet flew over the crowd of girls and right towards...
...Shadow.
The black hedgehog was having a conversation with Sonic when suddenly something hit him on the head. The object landed in his hands and when Shadow opened his eyes, he saw it was a bouquet.
''What the-'' he started saying, but was interrupted by the girls' disappointed cries.
Sonic couldn't hold himself from bursting into laughter ''HAHAHAHA LOOKING FORWARD TO THE ULTIMATE WEDDING! I AM SURE YOU WILL MAKE AN EXCELLENT BRIDE HAHAHA!''
''Shut up!'' Shadow hissed.
Blazed chuckled at the scene, when her husband joined her.
He wrapped his hands around her waist and asked ''So how was your wedding?''
''Perfect!'' she said, but then, a naughty smile appeared on her face ''But you know, the wedding is not over yet. There's still our first night as a husband and wife.''
Silver's face became red upon the mentioning of their first night ''Y-Y-Yes... that...Listen... maybe...we can take it easy...it will be our first time after all...''
''No way!'' said Blaze ''I promised Rouge that I am going to rock your world tonight...'' she then moved her mouth to Silver's ear and whispered ''And I don't break my promises...''
Silver became completely red.
(The next morning...)
The party continued up until the small hours of the night, even though the bride and the groom had retreated to this room to consume their marriage.
But soon the morning arrived and it was time for the heroes to go home. After packing their stuff up, Sonic and Co gathered in front of the palace.
''I hope Eggman didn't cook up some scheme while we were away!'' Knuckles said as he cracked his namesakes.
''Don't worry, Knucks!'' Sonic said to his fried ''If something pops up- we will put an end to it before you can say 'Do you know the way?'. '''
''I hope you are right, Sonic!'' Silver said as he and Blaze approached the others.
''After all, it would be horrible if we have to do hero work during our honeymoon.'' said Blaze.
The couple had chosen one of the tropical islands on Mobius for their honeymoon and they were going to leave for it with the rest of their friend.
''Everyone ready? Blaze asked as the Sol emeralds started circling around her.
''Yeah, we are!'' said Tangle ''I hope we arrive soon, though! I have some planing to do...'' she looked at Whisper, with whom she was now holding hands. The wolf blushed.
''Yeah, same...'' Sonic said as he looked at Amy.
''Okey here we go!'' they were all consumed by flames that were going to take them back home, and Silver and Blaze- to their honeymoon.
The couple were beyond happy. If someone had told them five years ago that now they would be married and with wonderful friend- they wouldn't have believed it. Yet here they were, having all of this. The only thing missing was a small prince or princess next to them. But they would have plenty of time for this. For now- Silver and Blaze were going to enjoy their marriage life, with all its upsides and downsides.

Shadow stood up in front of a wooden door.
''I AM really doing this?! '' he said to himself ''Well, no going back now I suppose.''
He took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Soon footsteps came to the door. It opened to reveal a female red panda with blue eyes that stood behind her glasses. She was dressed in a pink shirt and blue jeans. She was holding a clipboard at her hand. This was the therapist.
''Ah, you must be Shadow!'' the therapist smiled at him friendly.
Shadow responded with a nod.
''Well, don't stand out there on the cold, come in!'' she stood aside so Shadow could enter into her office. And so he did.
The therapist closed the door behind him.
